Imported Indian high-tech workers taking American jobs

Many of the nearly 1000 Southern California Edison IBEW 47 workers carry signs as they march along Walnut Grove Avenue in Rosemead in front of the SCE corporate office last February to denounce the decision to lay off hundreds of information technology workers so SCE can outsource the positions to India or replace them with foreign workers who have H-1B Visas.  Many workers are not speaking out because they signed confidentiality agreements and could lose their severance packages.  (Orange County Register.com)

Screwing the American Worker, Part VIII

  • The open borders Republican and Democrat parties are importing endless waves of legal immigrant labor to replace American citizen workers.  These foreign workers are even being imported into rural areas like Montana (see below).
  • Remember when you vote that our corrupt liar hack politicians are on the payroll of multi-national Wall Street interests looking to drive down your wages so their executives can buy an extra yacht or a new summer home in the south of France.

(Bozeman Daily Chronicle)  -  In this tiny town on Montana's Hi-Line, a project is planned that would potentially bring 20 or more foreign high-tech workers to town, pay out more than $1 million in annual salaries, and create Internet resources for residents of the nearby Fort Belknap Indian Community.
At first glance, the proposed "Cyber-Rez" project would be a positive pilot program to help rural Native communities stay connected to the modern world.
But questions remain about where foreign workers would live, who's going to pay them and who stands to gain from a project that even leaders of the native reservation it would benefit say they know nothing about.
Beyond that, a state attorney has suggested that a web of business-to-nonprofit activity surrounding the project's leaders could be pushing the boundaries of what's legal and what's not.
Rose Community Development, the nonprofit that intends to produce the project, hopes to bring 20 to 25 specialized workers from India to start the project later this year, according to Rohit Saksena, who is listed as vice president of operations on more than a decade’s worth of Rose CDC tax records.
Saksena’s New Hampshire-based IT consulting firm, SAKS IT Group, was certified earlier this year by the U.S. Department of Labor to bring as many as 41 foreign workers to work at 58 S. Main St. in Harlem, where Rose CDC’s office is kept, according to Department of Labor certification data. The workers would be hired by SAKS and then contracted out to work on the Rose project.
Because the visas are awarded in a lottery, it’s still unclear how many workers will actually be approved for SAKS IT Group.
But no one interviewed at the Harlem city offices, the Fort Belknap Indian Community Tribal Council or anywhere else in the area has ever heard of the proposed project. Rose CDC’s founder and director, Doug Stuart, who lives in Harlem himself, doesn't appear to have discussed the project with many locals.

Open Borders America
Billions of poor people want into the U.S. and would eagerly take
your job and work for a lot less money than you make.
Foreign workers
Big Sky Global, like SAKS IT Group, is an information technology staffing firm that acts as a foreign labor contractor to American high-tech firms.
Generally, these companies act as a go-between, handling the paperwork to hire workers on H-1B or other foreign worker visas, and then contracting with tech companies to hire workers out on projects.
According to U.S. Department of Labor records, Big Sky Global has been certified for dozens of foreign hi-tech workers in years past, under H-1B visas or on green cards. Those certifications, however, do not represent actual workers.
Only a total of 85,000 H-1B visas are allowed each year, and with companies applying for many more than that cap, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services now holds an annual lottery to hand out the visa slots.
Companies apply first for the labor certifications from the Department of Labor, and then, once the results of the lottery are released, these companies apply for approval from Citizenship and Immigration Services for the number of worker visas allotted them in the lottery.
According to unpublished USCIS records, Big Sky Global had 36 H-1B visa workers approved between 2008 and 2013. Generally, the visas are good for three years and can be renewed.
Many of the Department of Labor certifications for Big Sky Global listed a Great Falls office as the place of work. The USCIS records, however, don't list job locations, so those 36 workers could have gone anywhere.

Pastor Faces Prison for "Grossly Offending" Islam

Pastor James McConnell

The Death of the West

  • George Orwell was right to set his nightmare police state novel "1984" in Britain.
  • The politicians eagerly import Muslims into the West.  But if you dare to speak up to defend your nation, religion and culture you are called a hater, a racist.

(Gatestone Institute)  -  An evangelical Christian pastor in Northern Ireland is being prosecuted for making "grossly offensive" remarks about Islam.

James McConnell, 78, is facing up to six months in prison for delivering a sermon in which he described Islam as "heathen" and "satanic." The message was streamed live on the Internet, and a Muslim group called the police to complain.

According to Northern Ireland's Public Prosecution Service (PPS), McConnell violated the 2003 Communications Act by "sending, or causing to be sent, by means of a public electronic communications network, a message or other matter that was grossly offensive."

Observers say that McConnell's prosecution is one of a growing number of examples in which British authorities — who routinely ignore incendiary speech by Muslim extremists — are using hate speech laws to silence Christians.

McConnell, who turned down an offer to avoid a trial, says the issue of Christians being singled out for persecution in Britain must be confronted, and that he intends to turn his case into a milestone trial "in defense of freedom of speech and freedom of religion."

The controversy began on the evening of Sunday, May 18, 2014, when McConnell, the founding pastor of the Whitewell Metropolitan Tabernacle, an evangelical mega-church in northern Belfast, preached a sermon on a foundational verse of the Christian Bible, 1 Timothy 2:5, which states: "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."

Preaching with an oratorical flourish common to traditional Protestantism, McConnell said (sermon begins at 22m, 40s):
"For there is one God. Think about that. For there is one God. But what God is [the Apostle] Paul referring to? What God is he talking about? The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
"The God who we worship and serve this evening is not Allah. The Muslim God, Allah, is a heathen deity. Allah is a cruel deity. Allah is a demon deity. A deity that this foolish government of ours ... pays homage to, and subscribes financial inducements to curry their favor to keep them happy....
"While in Muslim lands Christians are persecuted for their faith; their homes burned, their churches destroyed, and hundreds of them literally have given their lives for Christ in martyrdom. A lovely young [Sudanese] woman by the name of Miriam, 27 years-of-age, because she has accepted Christ as her Savior, will be flogged publicly and hanged publicly. These fanatical worshippers are worshippers of the god called Allah. Ladies and gentlemen, that is a fact and it cannot be denied and it cannot be refuted.
"I know the time will come in this land ... and in this nation to say such things will be an offense to the law. It would be reckoned erroneous, unpatriotic. But I am in good company, the company of [Protestant Reformers] Luther and Knox and Calvin and Tyndale and Latimer and Cranmer and Wesley and Spurgeon and such like him.
"The Muslim religion was created many hundreds of years after Christ. Mohammed, was born in 570. But Muslims believe that Islam is the true religion, dating back to Adam, and that the biblical Patriarchs were all Muslims, including Noah and Abraham and Moses, and even our Lord Jesus Christ.
"To judge by some of what I have heard in the past few months, you would think that Islam was little more than a variation of Christianity and Judaism. Not so. Islam's ideas about God, about humanity, about salvation are vastly different from the teachings of the Holy Scriptures. Islam is heathen. Islam is satanic. Islam is a doctrine spawned in Hell."
McConnell's comments about Islam comprised less than ten minutes of a 35-minute sermon that focused on Christian theology.

The blowback was as swift as it was predictable. The Belfast Islamic Center, which claims to represent all of the 4,000 Muslims thought to be living in Northern Ireland, complained to police, who dutifully launched an investigation into whether there was a "hate crime motive" behind McConnell's remarks.

McConnell summed it up this way: "Islam is allowed to come to this country, Islam is allowed to worship in this country, Islam is allowed to preach in this country and they preach hate. And for years we are not allowed to give a tract out, we are not allowed in Islam, we are not allowed to preach the gospel. We are persecuted in Islam if we stand for Jesus Christ."

The Supremes yank EPA's chain

Supreme Court Checks GOP Funded EPA

  • The Big Government loving GOP allows the EPA to go on decade after decade.  Why?  Because with the threat of EPA oppression Republican political hacks can come to businessmen and extort, I mean, ask for campaign contributions and the party will "intervene" on their behalf.
  • This is government sponsored "legal" racketeering.  If you tried to do this you would be in jail.
  • The GOP reserves its passion for those "evil" Gays who want to marry, while the party crams through the corrupt Obamatrade bill and funds the EPA without hardly a word.

(The Hill)  -  The Supreme Court dealt a blow to the Obama administration’s landmark air quality rule on Monday, ruling the Environmental Protection Agency did not properly consider the costs of the regulation.
In a 5-4 ruling, the justices ruled that the EPA should have taken into account the costs to utilities and others in the power sector before even deciding whether to set limits for the toxic air pollutants it regulated in 2011.
The case, Michigan v. EPA, centers on the EPA’s first limits on mercury, arsenic and acid gases emitted by coal-fired power plants, known as mercury and air toxics (MATS). Opponents, including the National Federation of Independent Business, say it's among the costliest regulations ever issued.

The EPA estimated its rule, which took effect for some plants in April, would cost $9.6 billion, produce between $37 billion and $90 billion in benefits and prevent up to 11,000 premature deaths and 130,000 asthma cases annually.
But the agency concluded that its regulatory impact analysis should have “no bearing on” the determination of whether regulations are appropriate, as set forth in the Clean Air Act.
In the majority ruling, Justice Antonin Scalia concluded that the EPA “unreasonably” interpreted the Clean Air Act when it decided not to consider industry compliance costs and whether regulating the pollutants is “appropriate and necessary.”
While the agency is afforded a certain level of power to interpret the law, the court wrote, “EPA strayed well beyond the bounds of reasonable interpretation in concluding that cost is not a factor relevant to the appropriateness of regulating power plants.”
Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito and Anthony Kennedy joined Scalia in overturning the rule, while Justices Elena Kagan, Sonia Sotomayor, Stephen Breyer and Ruth Bader Ginsburg sided with the EPA.
Writing for the minority, Kagan said the EPA properly considered costs at a later stage in the regulation, something that it has done in other rules and that the courts have allowed.

Ann Coulter on Marco Rubio: ‘I really don't like liars’

Coulter - A Conservative First

(Breitbart News)  -  Conservative author Ann Coulter did not mince words when asked on Breitbart News Sunday why she does not support Sen. Marco Rubio's presidential bid.

“I really don’t like liars,” Coulter said, reminding listeners that Rubio ran as a Tea Party candidate against Charlie Crist in 2012 and “campaigned over and over again” by attacking Sen. John McCain's comprehensive amnesty legislation and even declaring that “a path to legalization is a code word for amnesty.”

Coulter, the author of Adios, America, told host Matthew Boyle, whom she extensively praised for his relentless reporting on immigration issues, that though there were some red flags concerning Rubio–like his abuse of the Florida GOP’s credit card–“all sins were forgiven” because he was running against a candidate in Crist whom conservatives just wanted to defeat at all costs.
She reminded listeners that Rubio then “gets to Washington and spends three years pushing nothing but amnesty.” She said establishment Republicans say Rubio is “so telegenic” and he’s just “changed his mind” on immigration, but she noted that, “that’s the only thing he’s done” in D.C.
Rubio, by becoming the face of the Senate’s Gang of Eight’s comprehensive amnesty bill, which the Congressional Budget Office determined would lower the wages of American workers, and casting the decisive vote to allow Obamatrade to move forward in the Senate, epitomizes the Republican politician who gets elected espousing conservative principles only to abandon them once he gets to Washington. And on amnesty, Rubio’s flip to the establishment side was a harbinger of things to come.
Coulter said “the greatest night of my life” was when “Dave Brat took out [House Majority Leader] Eric Cantor” in the primary, which was the first time in history a sitting House Majority leader was ousted in a primary. Brat defeated Cantor because he hammered Cantor for pushing amnesty legislation on behalf of the permanent political class.
On Rubio's Support of Obamatrade

Coulter said voters certainly did not ask for a trade bill that is flooding “working-class Americans with competition.”
“Not competition for the Senators’s jobs. Not competition for Chuck Todd’s job or New York Times reporters’s jobs,” Coulter said. “No, we’re going to flood the market with low-age workers and now we’re even going to help businesses more and the Chamber of Commerce more by allowing them to bring in lots of extra workers.”
She said “the most heinous thing about that trade bill is not the trade part,” but the “backdoor amnesty” provisions that allow businesses to essentially say, “I need 10,000 Pakistanis to do this for me because they’re willing to work cheaper” and bring in more foreign workers to compete with Americans.

Robots to replace 90% of workers at factory

A robot manufacturer in China's Harbin Economic and
Technological Development Zone.

Say Goodbye to Jobs
The rapid rise of robots, the Internet and computers
is abolishing jobs by the millions.

(CNBC)  -  An increasing number of Chinese factories are ditching human workers for machines as a robotic revolution gets underway in the world's second-largest economy.
In the past month, two companies in the southern province of Guangdong, a major manufacturing hub, have reported plans to fill their factory floors with robots.
Evenwin Precision Technology is building a factory that will boast more than 1,000 industrial robots, China Daily reported in May. A maker of mobile phone components, Evenwin told the newspaper the move would reduce the number of frontline workers by at least 90 percent.
Meanwhile, home appliance maker Midea recently replaced 14 workers on one of its major assembly line, according to a Caixin report last month. Soon, it plans to replace quality-control supervisors with robots too.
China is already the world's largest industrial robot market - the country also manufactures the robots it uses - and it's expected to boast more industrial robots by 2017 than both Europe and North America combined, the International Federation of Robotics said earlier this year.

Robots replacing human workers may leave millions out of job

Construction Robotics has developed the semi-automated mason (SAM) that can lay up to 3,000 bricks in a day. SAM is working on an actual construction project for the first time.

Now Construction Jobs Will Vanish

(Independent)  -  An Australian engineer has built a robot that can build houses in two hours, and could work every day to build houses for people.

Human house builders have to work for four to six weeks to put a house together, and have to take weekends and holidays. The robot can work much more quickly and doesn’t need to take breaks.  (Might I add robots work for free and no health insurance - editor.)

Hadrian could take the jobs of human bricklayers. But its creator, Mark Pivac, told PerthNow that it was a response to the lack of available workers — the average age of the industry is getting much higher, and the robot might be able to fill some of that gap.

“People have been laying bricks for about 6000 years and ever since the industrial revolution, they have tried to automate the bricklaying process,” Pivac told PerthNow, which first reported his creation. But despite the thousands of years of house building, most bricklaying is still done by hand.
Hadrian works by laying 1000 bricks an hour, letting it put up 150 houses a year.

It takes a design of the house and then works out where all of the bricks need to go, before cutting and laying each of them. It has a 28-foot arm, which is used to set and mortar the brick, and means that it doesn’t need to move during the laying.

Pivac will now work to commercialise the robot, first in West Australia but eventually globally.

Welcome to Eternal Poverty
.
The poverty of the 1930s Great Depression is coming back.  The moronic politicians and TV talking heads blunder forward thinking the future will look like the past, and they talk about new jobs and economic recovery.
.
Those of us still able to think for ourselves see the writing on the wall.  Technology, robotics, the Internet and outsourcing are permanently abolishing jobs by the millions.  At some point the consumer economy will collapse as people with jobs to buy products simply vanish.

,
The successful political party of the future will run on a "Jobs for Humans" platform.  It will be a  return of the Luddites as millions of people permanently made unemployable by machines demand help just to live.

Anarchy and Violence
Expect massive social unrest and violence in the streets as tens of millions of permanently jobless people get angry at having to live on the most basic of welfare payments, food stamps and crappy government housing.

Turkey Plans to Invade Syria, But To Stop The Kurds, Not ISIS

The Turks Back Up ISIS

  • My Theory on ISIS  -  The Turks and the CIA have been arming Syrian Islamists.  Total regional anarchy is the general goal.  In the case of Turkey, their goal in helping ISIS is to prevent a Free Kurdistan from forming.  Now the Turks may march into Syria to make sure a Kurdistan never happens.

(The Daily Beast)  -  Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is planning a military intervention into northern Syria to prevent Syrian Kurds from forming their own state there, despite concerns among his own generals and possible criticism from Washington and other NATO allies, according to reports in both pro- and anti-government media.
In a speech last Friday, Erdogan vowed that Turkey would not accept a move by Syrian Kurds to set up their own state in Syria following gains by Kurdish fighters against the so-called Islamic State, or ISIS, in recent weeks. “I am saying this to the whole world: We will never allow the establishment of a state on our southern border in the north of Syria,” Erdogan said. “We will continue our fight in that respect whatever the cost may be.” He accused Syrian Kurds of ethnic cleansing in Syrian areas under their control.
Kurdish Peshmerga - Starved by Obama
Dear Leader Obama has starved the Kurds of weapons to defend
themselves against ISIS.
.
This last week the Kurds were trying to cut the main road to the ISIS capital
city of Raqqa in Syria.  The press noted ISIS was worried that their main
road to bring in supplies might by blocked.  The mindless media failed to
point our that the supply road comes from Turkey.

Following the speech, several news outlets reported that the president and Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu had decided to send the Turkish army into Syria, a hugely significant move by NATO’s second biggest fighting force after the U.S. military.  Both the daily Yeni Safak, a mouthpiece of the government, and the newspaper Sozcu, which is among Erdogan’s fiercest critics, ran stories saying the Turkish Army had received orders to send soldiers over the border. Several other media had similar stories, all quoting unnamed sources in Ankara. There has been no official confirmation or denial by the government.
The government refused to comment on the reports. Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu said “the necessary statement” would be issued after a regular meeting of the National Security Council, which comprises the president, the government and military leaders, this Tuesday.
The reports said up to 18,000 soldiers would be deployed to take over and hold a strip of territory up to 30 kilometers deep and 100 kilometers long that currently is held by ISIS. It stretches from close to the Kurdish-controlled city of Kobani in the east to an area further west held by the pro-Western Free Syrian Army (FSA) and other rebel groups, beginning around the town of Mare. This “Mare Line,” as the press calls it, is to be secured with ground troops, artillery and air cover, the reports said. Yeni Safak reported preparations were due to be finalized by next Friday.
There has been speculation about a Turkish military intervention ever since the Syrian conflict began in 2011. Ankara has asked the United Nations and its Western allies to give the green light to create a buffer zone and a no-fly area inside Syria in order to prevent chaos along the Turkish border and to help refugees on Syrian soil before they cross over into Turkey. But the Turkish request has fallen on deaf ears.
Ankara is concerned that the Kurds will now turn their attention to the area west of Kobani and towards Mare to link up with the Kurdish area of Afrin, thereby connecting all Kurdish areas in Syria along the border with Turkey. Erdogan expects that the Syrian Kurds, whose advance against ISIS has been helped by airstrikes from the U.S.-led coalition, will go on to form their own state as Syria disintegrates after more than four years of war.
PYD leader Saleh Muslim denied that Syria’s Kurds intend to do this.

The Battle for Iraq

Peshmerga Fighters Reclaim Ground from Islamic State

Kurdish Peshmerga fighters guarding Mosul Dam in Iraq

.
Everyone Fears a Free Kurdistan
Turkey, Syria, Iraq and Iran all oppose a free Kurdistan that would unite the Kurdish peoples into one nation.
.
The United States plays the usual games with the Kurds,  American claim to support the Kurds in Iraq against ISIS but somehow modern weapons just don't manage to make it to the Peshmerga troops.  Meanwhile the U.S. declares the Kurds across the border in Turkey to be terrorists for wanting a free Kurdistan.

US warship visits Georgia amid Ukraine crisis

USS Laboon

Playing Chicken With World War III

  • A "crazy" Blogger like me might think the U.S. is hoping for an military incident with Russia as an excuse to get involved in Ukraine or even Georgia.

(Agence France-Presse)  -  A US warship arrived Sunday in Georgia's Black Sea port of Batumi on a training mission, the US embassy said, sending a message of support to the NATO aspirant amid the conflict in Ukraine.
The US 6th Fleet's guided missile destroyer USS Laboon "will conduct routine combined training with the Georgian Coast Guard," the US embassy in Tbilisi said.
The port call "reaffirms the United States' commitment to strengthening ties with NATO allies and partners like Georgia, while working toward mutual goals of promoting security and stability in the Black Sea region," the embassy said in a statement.
Moscow's seizure of Crimea from Kiev's rule and its support for Ukrainian rebels have alarmed Georgia, which fought and lost a brief war with Russia in 2008.
The Ukraine crisis has triggered the worst confrontation between Russia and the West since the Cold War, and the US said last week it would deploy heavy weapons in central and eastern Europe in a move that angered Moscow.
Georgia's bid to join NATO and the European Union infuriated its former imperial master Russia, which bitterly opposes the alliance's expansion into former Soviet republics.
US warships delivered humanitarian aid to Georgia in the wake of the Russia-Georgia conflict in August 2008.
Moscow criticised the decision to send the sophisticated warships, saying they were unsuitable for aid missions.

Police fire rubber bullets at gay pride parade

Islamists Crack Down on Free Speech

  • The Islamist Turkish government tries to tighten their grip on yet another part of their society.  This time the free speech of Gays and their supporters are attacked.

(CBS News)  -  Gay rights advocates have gathered and marched for a few years now in Istanbul in what many have come to dub the largest gay pride event in the Muslim world.
This year, however, Turkish authorities were having none of it.
Police fired water cannon and rubber pellets at crowds gathering to take part in the pride march near the city's Taksim Square on Sunday, according to Reuters and multiple social media reports.
Although no official reasoning has been given for why this year's attempt at a parade was attacked, it happened to fall in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, and many suspect the country's religious conservatives firmly objected to the public display.
People run as Turkish riot police uses rubber bullets and tear gas
to a Gay Pride march on June 28, 2015.

Unlike most other Muslim countries, homosexuality is not a crime in Turkey. There is, however, widespread homophobia in the country, Reuters reports.
The Istanbul LGBTI Pride Week Committee, a group that organized the series of events during the 23rd Pride Week, said the 13rd Istanbul LGBTi Pride Parade, which was scheduled to start at 5 p.m. on June 28 at Taksim Square, had “suddenly been banned by the Istanbul Governor’s Office using the month of Ramadan as the reason without any announcement.”

Police attacked people with tear gas, rubber bullets and water cannon, the committee said in a press briefing at around 5:30 p.m. on June 28, adding that all entries to and exits from the Taksim Square and İstiklal Avenue had been shut down.

The first LGBTI Pride Parade in Turkey was held in 2003 with only 30 people at-tending the event. This number increased to around 5,000 attendants in 2010 and rose to more than 10,000 in 2011.

The participants of the parade then rose to 20,000 in 2012 a year before about 50,000 people attended the parade in 2013, the same year the Gezi Park demonstrations struck the country with millions taking to streets to protest the unjust policies of the government. The Gezi park protests had erupted as a sit-in against the demolition of a central Istanbul park near the Taksim Square, the only leafy area of the city center, for the construction of a shopping mall in the form of military barracks.
