The WNBA is utilizing new technology this season to squash out "hate speech" among its fans. 

The league announced a new initiative titled "No Space for Hate" this week ahead of the season tip-off. The campaign will include the use of AI social media monitoring tools that will help the league enforce a revised code of conduct. 

"As part of the comprehensive plan, the WNBA is rolling out an AI-powered technology solution to monitor social media activity, in partnership with players and teams, to help protect the community from online hate speech and harassment," the announcement read.

Fox News Digital has reached out to the WNBA for further clarification about how the technology will be used, but has not received a response. 

A revised WNBA fan code of conduct includes regulations for fans on social media, and threats of sanctioning those fans from official content if they are violated. The new policy lists racist, homophobic, sexist, sexual, threatening or libelous content as "subject to blocking or deletion." 

"Repeat violations of these guidelines may result in the violator no longer being able to follow our news, comment on our posts or send us messages," the policy reads. "Additionally, any direct threats to players, referees or other league and team personnel may be referred to law enforcement and may result in the violator being banned from all WNBA arenas and events."

Retroactive "hate speech" law punishes past speech

Canada is veering dangerously close to the type of complete control over people’s thoughts and speech seen in places like North Korea with a new bill that aims to censor people on the pretense of protecting others from “hate speech” – and that’s not even the most daunting part of it. 

What’s even more horrifying is the fact that it is retroactive, which means that the things that people have said in the past can now be weaponized against them.

The bill, known as the Online Harms Bill C-63, aims to combat online abuse, but it hides its most concerning components behind more reasonable measures, such as requiring social media platforms to take down posts that sexualize children within 24 hours.

It contains seven categories of content deemed harmful that providers must remove from their websites, including bullying children and encouraging people to harm themselves. It will also ban deep fakes. However, it is the hate speech aspects of it that are causing the most concern.

Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre said that his party is opposed to Prime Minister “Justin Trudeau’s woke authoritarian agenda” that will likely be used for censoring political speech.

He said: "What does Justin Trudeau mean when he says the words 'hate speech'? He means the speech he hates. You can assume he will ban all of that."

Historian Dr. Muriel Blaive explained why the bill is so scary: “The Canadian law proposal is outright mad. It is retroactive, which goes against all our Western legal tradition, according to which you can be punished only if you infringed a law that was valid at the time when you committed a crime.”

It actually gets even worse; there is a clause in the bill stating that if courts think you are likely to commit a hate crime or disseminate “hate propaganda” – which is not defined by the bill and therefore could easily be used to target those who go against government narratives – they can place you under house arrest and restrict your communications.

That’s right: they can restrict your movement and arrest you if they even think you might post something they won’t like.

A Briton has shared troubling footage of police officers and a mental health nurse showing up at his home after he voiced out the need for Christians to take a stand – amid the recent attack on a Sydney bishop.

The Orthodox Christian named Hooper shared three videos of this incident. In the first clip, a female police officer from Hasting Police in East Sussex tells him "people have raised concerns" about his opinions on the April 15 attack on Assyrian Orthodox Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel. The cleric was attacked by a radical Muslim teen during a church service, but has since recuperated.

"I've got two police officers and a mental health nurse coming to see me because I went to the church and spoke to my local priest about what happened to the bishop in Australia and said, 'Are we Christians supposed to take a stand?'" Hooper said in another clip of the police visit.

"I'm not calling for violence or anything like that. This is discrimination against Christians right now, because if I was Islamic, and I said anything along those lines – you wouldn't care. I'm not calling for violence, just for Christians to take a stand."

Hooper told law enforcement in an exchange captured in the third clip: "This is why I went to see the priest, because of this. We Christians can't even voice an opinion. You can't even have an opinion now without the police turning up. This is a police state."

Police Trained To Target Comedians Under Hate Crime Laws

Police in Scotland are being trained to target actors and comedians under new hate crime laws set to be activated next month, reports The Herald, citing leaked police documents.

Training materials obtained by the outlet state that content deemed to be “threatening and abusive” under the Hate Crime and Public Order can be communicated “through public performance of a play.”

A slide from the leaked training material titled “stirring up hatred” also lists ‘protected’ characteristics including age, disability, religion, sexual orientation and transgender identity.

In other words, under First Minister Humza Yousaf’s new law, any performer who for example ‘misgenders’ trans people, jokes about race or religion, or even criticises migrants can potentially be prosecuted.

The training material further states that even those forwarding or sharing material deemed to be ‘hateful’ can also be targeted under the law.

(Natural News)  The Washington state legislature has passed a bill to create a statewide snitching infrastructure for residents to report their neighbors for "wrongspeak."

Senate Bill 5427, which passed both the Senate and the House and now awaits Gov. Jay Inslee's signature, allows private individuals, including non-citizens and illegal aliens, to reports "bias incidents" to the state attorney general's office. Each reporting incident comes with a potential reward payout of $2,000.

The bill's supporters say its purpose is to protect "victims of hate crimes" before said crimes even occur, but at what cost? In essence, SB 5427 creates a tattletale hotline designed to intimidate people in Washington from speaking their minds, especially when such speech might be politically incorrect.

From what we can tell, SB 5427 is unconstitutional for at least the following five reasons:

1) It infringes on one's right to confront his accuser

2) It impedes freedom of speech

3) It violates freedom of thought, an implied right in the First Amendment

4) It steamrolls freedom of religion

5) It impairs freedom of the press

On Thursday, the trial of Finnish lawmaker Päivi Räsänen began for allegedly violating the country's "hate speech" laws when she publicly questioned her church's leadership on X for sponsoring a 2019 Pride event and included a picture of a Bible verse. 

According to her law team at ADF International, after Räsänen posted the tweet that asked, "How does the doctrine of the church, #raamattu fit in with the fact that shame and sin are raised as a matter of pride?" she was subjected to over 13 hours of police interrogations over the course of several months. 

Because of her religious beliefs on marriage and sexuality, Finland's former Prosecutor General brought three criminal hate speech charges against Räsänen. One for the Tweet in question, another for a 2019 radio interview she took part in on the topic, and one for a pamphlet about sexuality and marriage called "As Man and Woman He Created Them," she wrote for the church in 2004.

Lutheran Church Bishop Juhana Pohjola is facing charges alongside Räsänen for publishing the pamphlet at the time. Both were previously unanimously acquitted in 2022 by a Finnish District Court, but prosecutors appealed the decision.

“Everyone should be able to share their beliefs without fearing censorship by state authorities," Räsänen said outside the courtroom. "I know that the prosecution is trying to make an example of me to scare others into silence. Yet, you do not have to align with my views to agree that everyone should be able to speak freely. With God’s help, I will remain steadfast and continue defending everyone’s human right to free speech.”

The U.S. Army’s Protective Services Battalion (PSB), the Department of Defense’s equivalent of the Secret Service, now monitors social media to see if anyone has posted negative comments about the country’s highest-ranking officers.

Per a report by the Intercept, the PSB’s remit includes protecting officers from “embarrassment,” in addition to more pressing threats like kidnapping and assassination.

An Army procurement document from 2022 obtained by the Intercept reveals that the PSB now monitors social media for “negative sentiment” about the officers under its protection, as well as for “direct, indirect, and veiled” threats.

“This is an ongoing PSIFO/PIB” — Protective Services Field Office/Protective Intelligence Branch — “requirement to provide global protective services for senior Department of Defense (DoD) officials, adequate security in order to mitigate online threats (direct, indirect, and veiled), the identification of fraudulent accounts and positive or negative sentiment relating specifically to our senior high-risk personnel.”

Per the report, the Army intends not just to monitor platforms for “negative sentiment,” but also to pinpoint the location of posters.

(FOX 13)  Pornhub, one of the largest adult content websites on the internet, has blocked Utahns from viewing the site in an apparent protest of a new law forcing stricter age-verification measures.

Website visitors from Utah started noticing the block on Monday morning. At first, Pornhub posted "403 | This state is not whitelisted." 403 is a computer code for a forbidden site. Later in the day, the site was changed to a lengthy message to users notifying them of why they were blocked.

"As you may know, your elected officials in Utah are requiring us to verify your age before allowing you access to our website. While safety and compliance are at the forefront of our mission, giving your ID card every time you want to visit an adult platform is not the most effective solution for protecting our users, and in fact, will put children and your privacy at risk," the site's message read.

Pornhub insisted it had robust trust and safety measures to prevent children from accessing its adult content, and the measures the state of Utah was requiring had no proper enforcement.

The site's message urged viewers to contact their elected lawmakers to demand "solutions that make the internet safer while also respecting your privacy."

Face Recognition Tech Detects ‘Party Loyalty’

(Summit News)  Researchers in China are developing technology that uses AI face recognition to determine a citizen’s loyalty to the ‘party’ and their subservience to state brainwashing.

Yes, really.

A video posted by the Hefei Comprehensive Science Center which was subsequently deleted showed researchers using such technology to “discern the level of acceptance for ideological and political education.”

“Communist Party members can then be assessed in the levels of “determination to be grateful to the party, listen to the party and follow the party,” reports the Telegraph.

After receiving negative attention, the video was removed from the institute’s website and Chinese censors began scrubbing all mention of it from social media sites.

“The video showed a researcher viewing content extolling the CCP on a TV screen as his face biometrics data, skin electrical responses, and brain signal information is collected by the AI program,” writes Will Henney.

The data collected by the program then ranks a person’s “learning attentiveness” and “emotional identification,” thereby determining if they need to be further re-educated in order to display the proper level of support for the government.

As ever, technocrats in the west will be licking their lips at the prospect of one day launching similar programs under the guise of a new social credit score.

The program bring flashbacks of the Department of Homeland’s Security’s ludicrous post-9/11 “gait analysis” program, which proclaimed to be able to detect future terrorists and criminals by the way they walked.

3 Years in Prison For Saying Men Can’t Be Lesbians

(Summit News)  A Norwegian feminist faces up to three years in prison for saying that biological men can’t be lesbians.

Yes, really.

Christina Ellingsen, of the global feminist organization Women’s Declaration International (WDI), is under police investigation for making the claim in a tweet in which she criticized the trans activism group FRI.

“Why [does] FRI teach young people that males can be lesbians? Isn’t that conversion therapy?” Ellingsen allegedly tweeted.

She also questioned the legitimacy of FRI’s advisor Christine Jentoft identifying as a lesbian despite being born a biological male.

“Jentoft, who is male and an advisor in FRI, presents himself as a lesbian – that’s how bonkers the organization which supposedly works to protect young lesbians’ interests is. How does it help young lesbians when males claim to be lesbian, too?” Ellingsen reportedly said.

“You are a man. You cannot be a mother,” Ellingsen allegedly told Jentoft. “To normalize the idea that men can be mothers is a defined form of discrimination against women.”

“Amnesty International is also accusing Ellingsen of harassment for saying that Jentoft is a man on national television,” reports Reclaim the Net.

Norway’s hate crime laws were made more draconian last year to make criticizing gender ideology a crime and Ellingsen faces up to three years in prison if she is convicted.

“To certain groups, the fact that women and girls are female and that men cannot be women, girls, mothers or lesbians, is considered hateful,” Ellingsen told Reduxx, adding that the police are investigating her for “for campaigning for women’s rights.”

“The fact that police are legally able to investigate and persecute women who engage in women’s rights is concerning,” said Ellingsen

“This is new territory in Norway, so the outcome of the investigation is important, both if the case is dismissed and if it leads to trial,” she added.

However, the precedent has already been set by a 2021 case where a Norwegian man was jailed for three weeks and fined for “misgendering” someone who identifies as transgender on Facebook.
