INSANE - Taco eating classes at University of Kentucky

Words Fail Me

(Fox News)  -  First it was college credits for learning about pizza and beer.  Now it’s a class about tacos.

Students at the University of Kentucky have the distinct opportunity to pay money to get schooled in eating tacos.

According to Munchies, the university is offering an undergraduate class called "Taco Literacy: Public Advocacy and Mexican Food in the US South."

Steven Alvarez, an assistant professor from the school's writing, rhetoric, and digital studies department told Munchies that the class is about building social connections through food.

"This class allows our students to explore the issues of immigration, inequality, workers, intercultural communication, and literacy through the prism of food," he said.

Class work includes studying the cultural significance of Mexican food, writing restaurant reviews, and of course, eating tacos. Students to have some food for thought with assigned texts about tacos, including OC Weekly editor Gustavo Arellano's “Taco USA,” and a book based just on tortillas—and they compile research about their experiences.

Kurds to cut off ISIS supply lines from Turkey

Anti-ISIS YPG Kurdish militia

This is why Obama hates Russia

  • Putin exposed Obama's lies when the Russians finally rolled into the Middle East to bomb the crap out of Islamists armed by the CIA, Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
  • If you think for one second that NATO member Turkey would bomb the anti-ISIS Kurds with American jets and weapons without the permission of the White House then you are nuts.  This entire "war" is a public relations fraud.

(Reuters)  -  The powerful Syrian Kurdish YPG militia and its local allies have drawn up plans for a major attack to seize the final stretch of the Syrian-Turkish border held by Islamic State fighters, a YPG source familiar with the plan said on Thursday.
Such an offensive could deprive Islamic State fighters of a logistical route that has been used by the group to bring in supplies and foreign recruits.
(TRANSLATION  -  This offensive would prevent NATO member Islamist Turkey, which uses U.S. equipment, from sending even more weapons and supplies to ISIS butchers.)
But it could lead to confrontation with Turkey, which is fighting against its own Kurdish insurgents and sees the Syrian Kurds as an enemy.
After a year of military gains aided by U.S.-led air strikes, the Kurds and their allies already control the entire length of Syria's northeastern Turkish frontier from Iraq to the banks of the Euphrates river, which crosses the border west of the town of Kobani.

Almost all the 2015 gains against ISIS were made by the Kurds who
have been starved of weapons by Dear Leader Obama.

Other Syrian insurgent groups control the frontier further west, leaving only around 100 km (60 miles) of border in the hands of Islamic State fighters, running from the town of Jarablus on the bank of the Euphrates west to near the town of Azaz.
But Turkey says it will not allow the Syrian Kurds to move west of the Euphrates.
The source confirmed a report on Kurdish news website Xeber24 which cited a senior YPG leader saying the plan includes crossing the Euphrates to attack the Islamic State-held towns of Jarablus and Manbij, in addition to Azaz, which is held by other insurgent groups.
The source did not give a planned date, but said a Jan. 29 date mentioned in the Xeber24 report might not be accurate.
The YPG has been the most important partner on the ground of a U.S.-led air campaign against Islamic State, and is a major component of an alliance formed last year called the Syria Democratic Forces, which also includes Arab and other armed groups. The alliance is quietly backed by Washington, even as its NATO ally in the region, Turkey, is hostile.
The political party affiliated with the YPG, the PYD, has been excluded from Syria peace talks the United Nations plans to hold in Geneva on Friday. The PYD and its allies say their exclusion undermines the process and have blamed Turkey.
Ankara fears further expansion by the YPG will fuel separatist sentiment among its own Kurdish minority. It views the Syrian Kurdish PYD as a terrorist group because of its affiliation to Turkish Kurdish militants.

Reclaiming Sinjar:
Pushing Back the Islamic State

The newest female militia group fighting ISIS is the Female Protection Forces of the Land Between the Two Rivers predominantly made up of Syrian Christian women. The group’s numbers are small, but as a recent upstart it has already begun to make a name for itself fighting ISIS. Around 50 active fighters currently comprise the force, however it is likely to grow larger as it graduates more trainees and gains renown.

Satanists to give prayer at Phoenix City Council meeting

The 1st Amendment is a Bitch

(Associated Press) — Members of a satanic group will give the opening prayer at an upcoming Phoenix City Council meeting.
Some council members have objected, but city attorney Brad Holm says the government cannot exclude a religion from praying under such circumstances.
Satanic Temple member Stu de Haan says the group doesn't intend to do anything offensive. He says the Satanic Temple doesn't believe in a literal Satan but see the biblical Satan as a metaphor for rebellion against tyranny.
The Arizona Republic reports (see more ) that the temple will perform the invocation on Feb. 17.
The city's invocation has been delivered by Christians, Jews, Muslims, Sikhs and people of other faiths. The temple submitted a request in December to give the prayer.

Obama's Army protects Muslim child rapists

We are in
the Obama Twilight Zone
  • Somehow I woke up in a Bizarro World alternate dimension where the insane are ruling over the U.S.
  • What is amazing to me is how few politicians are saying anything. As usual the political hacks are in hiding under their Congressional desks.

(Washington Free Beacon)  -  Army Human Resources Command has recommended that the Green Beret who confronted an Afghan police commander for raping a young boy be kicked out of the service.
Rep. Duncan Hunter (R., Calif.), who has pushed back against the Army’s decision to punish Sgt. 1st Class Charles Martland, revealed the development in a letter to Sen. Pat Roberts (R., Kansas) Wednesday.
“Recently, a decision within Army Human Resources Command recommended that the Army uphold the judgment that Martland be removed from service, although a final decision has yet to be made about his future,” Hunter wrote.

While serving in Afghanistan in 2011, Martland and another soldier confronted an Afghan Local police commander at an outpost for kidnapping and repeatedly raping a young boy, reportedly throwing the man to the ground and physically ejecting him from the base.
“For this action, Martland was removed from the outpost and faced reprimand. He later was allowed to reenlist, only to face a Qualitative Management Program review board in February 2015,” Hunter, a veteran Marine officer who served in Iraq and Afghanistan, wrote in the letter.
“The Army argued that the black mark on his record, which states he assaulted ‘a corrupt Afghan commander,’ is cause to expel him from duty, despite the fact that he has the full support of his command and immediate leadership.”
Martland appealed the review board’s decision, but the appeal was denied outright. The Green Beret was allowed to resubmit an appeal.
According to Hunter, who has been conducting his own investigation surrounding Martland’s dismissal from the service, the Pentagon inspector general informed him that military personnel are “very supportive of [Sgt. Martland] and his efforts to remain in the U.S. Army” and that there are ongoing efforts in his command not to “inadvertently hamper his efforts.”
Martland, who Hunter labeled a “war hero,” faces an end to his service in the Army at the beginning of March 2016 if the recommendations from Army Human Resources Command are followed.
Hunter has advocated for Martland since the Army punished him for defending a child victim of sex abuse. Hunter and Rep. Vern Buchanan (R., Fla.) introduced a House resolution last September demanding Martland’s reinstatement.
“The Afghan justice system continually failed to uphold individual human rights, and we would expect any of our elite warriors to project a child from a known and admitted rapist,” Hunter wrote in the letter to Roberts Wednesday.
Martland was one of multiple U.S. soldiers and Marines who were reportedly punished for blowing the whistle on Afghan forces sexually assaulting children. Gen. John Campbell, the commander of U.S. forces in Afghanistan, has denied the existence of a policy instructing U.S. troops to ignore allegations of rape at the hands of Afghan forces.

Thought Crimes: Cops raid critics of Muslim immigration policy

The Thought Police are Watching You

  • Big Brother thugs are raiding people's homes and are "scrubbing" Facebook of all thoughts that are against massive Muslim immigration.

(Sputnik News)  -  Police in the Netherlands now prefer not to think twice before visiting homes of those who criticize a government policy on migrants, including via social networks, media reports said.

Critiquing the Dutch government's policy on migrants via social networking websites and elsewhere is now considered a criminal offense in Holland. Dutch police have raided critics' homes, media outlets reported, citing a recent mass protest in the town of Kaatsheuvel and how some citizens of the town of Sliedrecht had been targeted by the authorities for voicing their criticism of mass migration online.

Earlier this month, hundreds of residents of Kaatsheuvel took to the streets to protest the local authorities' plans to house at least 1,200 migrants in their town.

They carried placards with slogans reading "You do not belong here" and "No to the refugees."

The government retaliated by sending local police to the addresses of those who had participated in the protest and inspecting their social media accounts.

In an interview with RT, one of the protesters said that police had arrived at his door and asked him if he wanted to remove his Facebook post criticizing the authorities' migrant asylum policy.

  • "But my message has already disappeared, and I think it was [removed] earlier by police or Facebook itself. A police officer told me that apart from me, he was due to visit five more protesters. They want us to keep mum and refrain from discussing the topic," he said.

Robin Tilbrook, leader of the English Democrats Party condemned the activity of the Dutch police as illegal.

  • "Trying to shut people's mouths is a totally undemocratic and possibly illegal approach. This is nothing but an attempt to bully people who simply expressed concern about the situation [with migrants]," Tilbrook said.

And if all others accepted the lie which the Party imposed – if all records told the same tale – then the lie passed into history and became truth. "Who controls the past," ran the Party slogan, "controls the future: who controls the present controls the past."

German carnival leaflets tell Muslims not to rape women or urinate in public

In Arabic:  "No means no"
Illegal alien Muslims warned in leaflets not
to rape German women at carnivals.

(London Daily Mail)  -  Cologne and Bonn carnival organisers have begun handing out rules for refugees for next week's jollity - with warnings about women, alcohol and urinating in public.

The cities are on edge after mass sexual assaults by immigrants against hundreds of women on New Year's Eve in Cologne. The number of complaints resulting from the frenzy in and around the main station now stands at over 820.

Carnival is, if anything, even bigger than New Year in the Rhineland where cities like Bonn, Cologne and Dusseldorf go crazy in a week long celebration of parades, parties, dances and fetes.

A million people are expected on the streets of Dusseldorf alone next Monday when the party gets underway.

A massive police presence, both uniformed and undercover, will be deployed to try to ensure there is no repeat of the scenes which marred the last day of the year in Cologne and in several other German cities.

In Bonn, carnival organisers have now printed leaflets welcoming migrants - provided they behave themselves.

Printed in several languages including Arabic, the flyers read: 'People dress up to celebrate, sing and dance together. In the carnival time everyone must deal respectfully with one another and observe the laws.

'Bützen - that means kisses on the cheeks. Sexual approaches are not allowed! Women and men must always be in agreement. No means no!

'Dancing to the music is also a way to celebrate carnival. Many people also celebrate with drinks and alcohol. Please - only in moderation!

'Urinating in public is forbidden!'

Bonn carnival chief Christoph Arnold went with representatives of the police and the local integration commissioner Colette Manemann to a refugee centre to hand out the leaflets in person.

In Cologne one of the points raised on the leaflet - which is printed in Arabic too - is also about alcohol, which Muslims are not supposed to consume.

It reads: 'Many in Cologne will be drinking beer or other alcoholic beverages at carnival time, but of course there is no obligation to do so.

'Having fun, singing and dancing can all be done as well without alcohol.'

One Syrian called Noble, 19, who has been in Germany for four months, confessed to being bemused about the celebrations, saying: 'It's something people don't do where I'm from. People drink alcohol, dress up - this is all very strange.'

San Francisco park has outdoor urinal

San Francisco open air urinal

"Now I hate to tell such a plain truth, but I must -- the bulk of San Francisco's liberality seems sometimes actuated by a love of applause. She don't always take kindly to a good deed for a good deed's sake, but pat her on the head, and flatter her, and say Bully, bully, bully, is the great Metropolis of the Pacific, and she will break her neck trying to accomplish that good deed."
Mark Twain

(New York Post)  -  San Francisco’s iconic Dolores Park is now home to the city’s first open-air urinal, the latest move to combat the destructive scourge of public urination in the City by the Bay.
The cement circular urinal is out in the open, though plants and a screen offer some privacy. It’s a welcome addition for the park that had just three toilets, which led many to relieve themselves in bushes and on buildings.
“Honestly, we were ready to go pee anywhere,” San Francisco-resident Aaron Cutler said told KNTV. “So any facility is better than none.”
The park now features 27 toilets, including the outdoor urinal, thanks to more than $20 million in renovations. They were the park’s first upgrades in 60 years. San Francisco Recreation and Park Department spokeswoman Sarah Madland said she wasn’t aware of any other cities with such a public urinal.
Solar-powered toilets roll through city streets several afternoons a week. And city crews have inspected 10,000 light posts to make sure they won’t fall over from erosion, after a three-story-tall light post corroded by a likely mix of human and dog urine, and weighted down by a large banner, toppled.

Joe Scarborough defends Trump against Fox News

Yellow Journalism at Fox

  • Every few minutes there is yet another screaming "News Alert" on Fox.  We are all going to die, film at 6, don't forget to tune in.  All media is money driven and does Yellow Journalism to jack up sales and advertising income, but Fox has turned it into a fine art.
  • There is no real reason for The Donald to voluntarily drop himself into a Fox Debate meat grinder where the hosts and candidates with 4% in the polls can rip him to pieces on live TV.  Personally I am maxed out on debates. Let's vote.

(Business Insider)  -  MSNBC host Joe Scarborough has offered a fairly passionate defense of Donald Trump's decision to skip this Thursday's Fox News Republican presidential debate.
Scarborough on Wednesday repeatedly supported Trump's claim that Fox host Megyn Kelly, one of the debate's moderators, was biased against Trump's presidential campaign.
At one point, Scarborough played a short highlight reel of Kelly's sharper words for Trump and for the media — including Scarborough's "Morning Joe" — regarding some of its relentless Trump coverage.
"That is just good, unbiased journalism," Scarborough said, sarcastically. "And if I were a candidate, I certainly would want that person asking me questions in a fair and a balanced way."
Is cable news really news or simply ratings and
money driven tabloid info-tainment?

He added: "No, actually, as I said before, I would rather set myself on fire in front of the Fox News news studio than go on the debate stage with that."
Scarborough, a former Republican congressman whose show competes daily against Fox News, further argued that Fox chief Roger Ailes had made a mistake by standing so firmly against Trump.
Trump has repeatedly suggested Kelly would be unfair to him at the Thursday-night event. Fox dismissed Trump's criticism as unfounded and said Kelly would remain one of the three moderators of its debate.
After the network mocked Trump for polling his Twitter followers about whether he should go to the debate, given Kelly's alleged bias, the Republican front-runner announced he would boycott it.
"He's ahead by 20, 30 points. He's probably going to be the front-runner," Scarborough said atanother point in his show. "And when you know that Fox News' viewers tend to trend older and white and male — and Donald Trump's most ardent supporters are older and white and male — is one anchor worth splitting the network's audience right down the middle?"

Nothing has changed since the media driven and created Spanish-American War.  Big media needs to make money.  Lots and lots of money.  Stories are run in an endless 24 hour loop to make you scared to death of hot dogs, terrorism, beer, cell phones or evil foreigners.

A
Nothing has changed.
In the eternal search for money the Media Machine always paints foreigners with their strange ways and funny looks as evil and bloodthirsty beasts.  The Media says "Just let the government go to war with them and then you will be safe."  The fact that the Media Machine will make more money covering the war is not mentioned.

Hillary might name Obama to the Supreme Court

Will the Horror Never End?

(National Report)  -  In response to an email from a supporter in Iowa, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said she would consider naming current President Barack Obama to the US Supreme Court if she won the 2016 presidential race, provided she decides to run, while hinting that he might be given a cabinet position if “the legality checks out.”

Molly Warren of Mason City, Iowa emailed Clinton two weeks ago, saying that she was going into law school after being inspired by Clinton’s story. After vowing to vote for Clinton in 2016, which will be the first presidential election she’ll have been eligible to vote in, Warren asked if Clinton would consider placing President Obama on the Supreme Court, noting his legal education and background.

“As for President Obama, I would imagine he’s looking forward to retiring from public life and taking a rest,” Clinton said in part of her response. “I know my husband wanted a short break after his eight years in the White House, before starting the Clinton Global Initiative. As for Barack, though, I would of course consider him for the Supreme Court. I believe he would make a great justice, and he’s certainly qualified for the role. No US President has ever gone to the Supreme Court, nor has any individual ever served in all three branches of our government, so it would be unprecedented. But I agree; he’d definitely make for a great Supreme Court Justice, at a time when we need those seats filled with strong independent minds.”

Clinton went on to say she’d consider Obama for other roles, too. “If President Obama weren’t up for the Supreme Court, I would absolutely love to have him in the cabinet, so long as the legality checks out. I would have to verify any rules that might prohibit him from holding certain offices due to the line of succession, but I think the world of President Obama and would love to see him keep up the good fight for the people of this great nation.”
