(Newswars)  The United Nations is giving money to migrants bound for the United States in the form of electronic cash cards, according to reports.

Migrants at a U.N. office in Tapachula, Mexico, say payments are being loaded onto debit cards for them.

The stunning revelations were captured on camera by Todd Bensman, Senior National Security Fellow at the Center for Immigration Studies.

A man identified as a migrant from Haiti told Bensman he was expecting a disbursement of 3,600 Mexican pesos (~$175) for the month of January but it had not arrived.

“They haven’t deposited to my account,” the Haitian said before flashing a debit card branded with the logo of the UNHCR — the U.N. Refugee Agency.

A “significant line” of migrants was waiting outside the U.N. office, according to Bensman, including additional Haitians who claimed migrants from other countries were receiving more money than them.

A UN official tasked with monitoring extrajudicial killings warns that examples of lockdown flouters being targeted by excessive force and cruelty are “multiplying” across the globe.

“The number of allegations of police killings and their excessive use of force that I have received and have been reading are deeply concerning,” said Agnes Calamard.

“Graphic accounts of police cruelty and violence, often directed at the most vulnerable and individuals and communities, are multiplying,” she added.

Dictatorial regimes in numerous countries have exploited COVID hysteria to carry out arbitrary killings, including in Nigeria where security forces enforcing lockdown regulations have killed at least 18 people.

Indeed, according to Nigeria’s Human Rights Commission, “More people in Nigeria have been killed by officers enforcing lockdown then by the disease,” reports the Mirror.

Meanwhile, In Iran, paralympian and disabled bodybuilder Reza Tabrizi faces the death penalty after questioning why the government closed down gyms let allowed places of worship to remain open.

People in the Philippines, North Korea and Kenya have also been killed by security forces for violating lockdown rules or not wearing a mask.

“Impositions of derogations of freedom of movement, including curfews, are permitted under international law in specific circumstances and may be a necessity in the context of the Covid epidemic,” said Calamard.

(Summit News)  -  The World Health Organization has again warned countries against imposing travel restrictions to tackle the coronavirus outbreak, asserting that doing so would create “fear and stigma.”

Despite the coronavirus now infecting more than 20,000 people, with tens of thousands more suspected to be infected, the WHO is apparently more concerned with maintaining the relentless flow of travel and migration.

Director-General of the World Health Organization Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said in a statement that travel restrictions “can have the effect of increasing fear and stigma, with little public health benefit.”

“Where such measures have been implemented, we urge that they are short in duration, proportionate to the public health risks, and are reconsidered regularly as the situation evolves,” he added.

However, at least 22 countries that have already imposed travel restrictions apparently do believe that such measures have a public health benefit.

“This is happening at the same time as China is blocking travel to Macau and enforcing martial law almost nationwide,” comments Zero Hedge. “Since when did the WHO not err on the side of caution? This is stunningly irresponsible advice.”

Accusing the WHO of choosing money over people’s lives, the website added, “The WHO then proceeded to downplay the risk to public health and took pains to make it clear it doesn’t recommend placing restrictions on global trade & travel at this time. What?!? When we may be in dealing with a viral outbreak as (or more!) virulent than the Spanish Flu? (aka The Great Influenza).”

(Summit News)  -  The United Nations wants to hand power to dictatorial regimes like China to control the Internet, prompting fears of a massive new free speech purge.

The General Assembly has approved a resolution sponsored by China and Russia to set up a committee of “international experts” whose role would be to stop “the use of information and communications technologies for criminal purposes.”

However, many caution that the move is merely a back door for authoritarian regimes to further censor dissent.

“The United States, European powers and rights groups fear that the language is code for legitimizing crackdowns on expression, with numerous countries defining criticism of the government as “criminal,” reports AFP.

Human Rights Watch said the list of sponsors for the resolution is “a rogue’s gallery of some of the earth’s most repressive governments” and “gives countries legal cover for internet blackouts and censorship, while creating the potential for criminalizing free speech.”

Governments like China already censor and turn off the Internet during times of civil unrest while doling out ‘social credit score’ punishments for those who criticize the state.

The Communist country is also rolling out a plan to force its citizens to pass a facial recognition test to use the Internet. Criticized the authorities? No Internet for you.

The United Nations will inject as many millions of dirt poor immigrants as possible into advanced nations.

(TRT World)  -  Thousands of people marched in Brussels on Sunday against a UN pact aimed at fostering cooperation on migration, eclipsing a smaller demonstration in support of the deal, the signing of which brought down Belgium's government last week.

Police said some 5,500 people marched in the bigger protest, organised by Flemish right wing parties in the part of the capital where main European Union institutions are located.

A separate counter-demonstration of around 1,000 people, organised by left-wing groups and non-governmental organisations, took place in the city centre.

Belgian right-wing N-VA, which is the biggest party in parliament, pulled its ministers from the ruling coalition last week after Prime Minister Charles Michel refused its demand that he not sign the UN migration compact in Marrakesh.

Michel had secured a large parliamentary majority in favour of maintaining Belgium’s support of the UN text, with support from the opposition socialists and greens.

A group of French military generals have written an open letter to Emmanuel Macron accusing the French President of committing “treason” by signing the UN migration pact.

The pact, which was signed by 164 nations on Monday, including France, is not legally binding but greases the skids for unlimited migration to be treated as a human right and criticism of mass migration to be treated as hate speech.

A letter written by General Antoine Martinez and signed by ten other generals, an admiral and a colonel, as well as former French Minister of Defense Charles Millon, warns Macron that the move strips France of more sovereignty and provides an additional reason for “an already battered people” to “revolt”.

The letter accuses Macron of being “guilty of a denial of democracy or treason against the nation” for signing the pact without putting it to the people.

“The French state is late in coming to realize the impossibility of integrating too many people, in addition to totally different cultures, who have regrouped in the last forty years in areas that no longer submit to the laws of the Republic,” states the letter, adding that mass immigration is erasing France’s “civilizational landmarks”.

According to British MEP Janice Atkinson, the UN pact would lead to Europe being flooded with 59 million new migrants within the next 6 years.

Warning that the plan would lead to European countries having their “culture and identity crushed,” Atkinson also pointed out that the pact could lead to hate speech laws that make it illegal to use the term “illegal migrants,” replacing it instead with “irregular migrants”.

“It will be illegal not to use their prescribed language,” warned Atkinson, adding that European citizens could “say goodbye to your democracy and your way of life” if the pact is implemented.

President Macron’s approval rating has sunk to 18% amidst a wave of protests riots against a number of issues, including fuel taxes and mass immigration.

(CNSNews.com) – The 13 biggest beneficiaries of U.S. foreign assistance in the current, previous and next fiscal years voted in line with U.S. positions at the United Nations an average of just 26.5 percent of the time in 2017.

And if Israel is excluded from the calculation, the aid beneficiaries’ average voting coincidence with the U.S. drops to 20.9 percent, according to data in the State Department’s annual report to Congress on voting practices at the United Nations.

The recently-released report for 2017 uses different methodology this year in a bid, the department says, to get a more accurate assessment of the extent to which other countries align themselves with U.S. interests at the U.N.

The new report finds that of all 93 resolutions brought to a final plenary vote in the U.N. General Assembly, all other countries’ votes coincided with those of the U.S. – that is, both voted “yes,” both voted “no,” or both abstained – an average of 31 percent of the time.

Obama sends $500 million to United Nations Climate Fund

AOL- Days before President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration, the State Department has announced a $500 million donation to the United Nations’ Green Climate Fund.

The Green Climate Fund helps the world develop clean energy technologies as it adjusts to climate change and works to reverse effects of global warming. The U.S. promised $3 billion to the fund in 2014, but political infighting stopped the money from being appropriated. The administration this week directed funds that were previously approved. Following a previous check for $500 million, the total contribution from the U.S. to the fund sits at $1 billion.

This payment, however, could reverse course under the incoming administration.

Potential secretary of state Rex Tillerson has said climate change isn’t a security threat to the U.S.. Although he did state America should maintain “a seat at the table” when it comes to climate change, Tillerson wouldn’t say whether he’d keep the U.S. in the Paris Climate Agreement, which China recently warned the U.S. against pulling out of at the Davos world economic forum.

In the days leading up to his 2016 election victory, Trump himself stated his plan to “cancel billions in global warming payments to the United Nations.”

Mike Huckabee (R-AR) was asked about U.S. federal funding for the United Nations, which has come under fire by many domestically for a Security Council resolution condemning the nation of Israel for building settlements in disputed territories.

Huckabee suggested the monies allocated from the United States for the United Nations should be taken away and given to veterans that served under the U.S. flag reports Breitbart.

ERIC BOLLING: Mike, before we let you go about a minute or. The U.N., we fund — the United States funds U.N. extensively — the regular budget we account for about 22 percent. That is about $600 million in 2016. But there is a peace keeping budget, we have been talking about almost $2.5 billion as well. And further a voluntary contributions, they can be $7 or $8 billion as the U.S. funds the U.N. initiatives. Should we cut that back?

(The Guardian)  -  The UN has dropped the superhero Wonder Woman as an ambassador for empowering girls and women after a brief stint that drew widespread criticism.

The campaign around the comic book character, who turned 75 this autumn, lasted for less than two months. Among its key aims were challenging female stereotypes and fighting discrimination and violence against women and girls.

But the appointment prompted an angry backlash from some quarters. More than 44,000 people signed a petition that claimed to have been started by “concerned United Nations staff members” which called on the UN secretary general, Ban Ki-moon, to appoint a non-fictional woman to the role.

“It is alarming that the United Nations would consider using a character with an overtly sexualised image at a time when the headline news in United States and the world is the objectification of women and girls,” the petition’s authors wrote.

Her scanty clothing – “a shimmery, thigh-baring bodysuit with an American flag motif and knee-high boots” – meant that deploying her as a role model for the UN was culturally insensitive in many parts of the world, the petition added.

Wonder Woman’s tenure as an honorary ambassador was launched on 21 October with an event that saw a silent protest by audience members who turned their backs on the panel, which included current and former Wonder Woman actors Gal Gadot and Lynda Carter.

(Agence France-Presse)  -  The United States should give African Americans reparations for slavery, UN experts said Tuesday, warning that the country had not yet confronted its legacy of "racial terrorism."

Amid a presidential election campaign in which racial rhetoric has played a central role, the UN working group on people of African descent warned that blacks in the US were facing a "human rights crisis."

This has largely been fuelled by impunity for police officers who have killed a series of black men -- many of them unarmed -- across the country in recent months, the working group's report said.

Those killings "and the trauma they create are reminiscent of the past racial terror of lynchings," said the report, which was presented to the United Nations Human Rights Council on Monday.

Germany appears to have given up on integrating the millions of Muslim migrants pouring into the country and is instead encouraging German citizens to submit to Islam.

A television ad currently airing in Germany invites blonde-haired, blue-eyed women to embrace “tolerance” by wearing the Muslim hijab head dress.

The commercial begins with the text “Turkish women wear the hijab,” as a veiled woman is seen with her back to the camera.

However, when she turns around it immediately becomes clear that the woman is a white, blonde-haired German, before she states, “Me too! It’s beautiful!”

“Enjoy difference – start tolerance,” states the woman.

The campaign is funded by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, as well as German taxpayers, who are forced to obtain a state television license or face prison time.

Instead of reversing its suicidal immigration policy, it appears as though Germany is now encouraging its female population to avoid the mass sex assaults committed by Muslim migrants in numerous major cities by submitting to Islam and covering themselves up.

(The Hill)  -  The Senate Appropriations Committee on Wednesday adopted a $500 million spending package for the Green Climate Fund, an international climate change adaptation program.

Members approved the funding, via an amendment from Sens. Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), Mark Kirk (R-Ill.), Susan Collins (R-Maine) and others, on a voice vote, despite strong Republican opposition to the measure.

The amendment removes language from the committee-approved State Department and Foreign Operations funding bill preventing the State Department from providing money for the fund, a program designed to support poor countries that are impacted by climate change. 

Republicans have opposed the fund for a host of reasons and fought hard to block funding for it during last year’s appropriations process. At the time, they said the funding shouldn't go forward unless the Senate got to vote on the international climate change agreement reached in December. 

A year-end spending deal didn’t fund the U.S.’s contribution to the climate program, but the State Department was able to find $500 million within its budget for it anyway. 

The Obama administration has promised $3 billion for the program by 2020.

(Huffington Post)  -  Bacon lovers, it may not be easy to brush off the World Health Organization's new ruling that red and processed meats cause cancer -- at least not in California. 

Following WHO's Monday announcement classifying processed meats -- such as bacon, sausage, hot dogs and ham -- and red meats -- including beef, veal, pork, lamb, mutton, horse and goat -- as carcinogens, California should now require those products sold in the state to carry a warning label in accordance with Proposition 65, says the environmental group Center for Biological Diversity.

“The World Health Organization has put these meats in the same category as cigarettes in terms of the death and danger they deliver,” Stephanie Feldstein, population and sustainability director with the Center for Biological Diversity, said in a statement sent to The Huffington Post. “Now, California must follow suit with public health warnings on the label. And it’s no surprise: the science has been clear that these meats are bad for people, not to mention for wildlife and the planet.”

Prop 65, passed in 1986, requires California to create a state list of all chemicals and substances identified by WHO's International Agency for Research on Cancer as "carcinogenic to humans," the most dangerous level, which processed meats fall under; "probably carcinogenic to humans ... with sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity in experimental animals," the second-most dangerous level, which red meat falls under; and "possibly carcinogenic to humans ... with sufficient evidence of carcinogenicity in experimental animals." Businesses, the law notes, are required to provide a "clear and reasonable" warning before exposing anyone to a listed substance.

The warning may be in the form of a label on the meat's packaging, a sign or menu notation where the meat is sold or "a system of signs, public advertising identifying the system and toll-free information services," the law states.  

The California attorney general's office, which is tasked with enforcing Prop 65, did not immediately return HuffPost's request for comment on how WHO's announcement will affect meat labeling in California.
