• The so-called "Conservative" GOP is anything but Conservative when they fail to support internet free speech and spend trillions in phony printing press money. The one thing the GOP has going for it is the Marxist Democrats are even worse.

(Free Beacon)  A liberal PAC is spending more than $1 million to bolster Kentucky's Libertarian Party nominee in a last-ditch attempt to funnel votes away from Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R.).

Ditch Mitch Fund, an anti-McConnell PAC founded by national liberal operatives, has raised hundreds of thousands of dollars from far-left donors to Sen. Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) and Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.), campaign-finance disclosures show. The money has helped the group spend more than $10 million on ads slamming McConnell and championing Democratic nominee Amy McGrath. But in the closing days of the campaign, Ditch Mitch Fund is instead spending big to sing the praises of Libertarian candidate Brad Barron.

The move is part of a larger liberal strategy to peel votes away from red-state Republicans by putting substantial funds behind little-known third-party candidates. One anti-McConnell super PAC—Fire Mitch Save America—has spent more than $250,000 on pro-Barron mailers in October. In South Carolina, Democratic Senate nominee Jaime Harrison, the state's Democratic Party, and an outside group aligned with Harrison have spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on campaign materials that call Constitution Party candidate Bill Bledsoe "the only true conservative on the ballot."

Federal Election Commission filings show that Ditch Mitch Fund launched an affiliate PAC called True Kentucky Patriots on October 13. Just days later, the group pushed back on reports that it was pulling its TV ads in the race's final two weeks, instead saying it was "simply adjusting and moving around" the ad buys. True Kentucky Patriots went on to report more than $300,000 spent on TV, radio, and digital spots that call Barron "Kentucky's true conservative for U.S. Senate." According to ad-buying tracker Advertising Analytics, the total ad blitz is worth more than $1 million.

"Brad Barron is a farmer and businessman who will protect our liberties from Washington politicians," one True Kentucky Patriots TV ad states. "Sorry, Mitch, 36 years is too long. Vote your values and for freedom. Vote for conservative libertarian Brad Barron."

The ad campaign dwarfs Barron's own spending in the race. The third-party candidate has disbursed less than $17,000 as of June 30 and has failed to file the last two required FEC reports.

(ABC 7)  -  A Kentucky couple is under house arrest after one of them tested positive for coronavirus and refused to sign self-quarantine papers.

Elizabeth Linscott got tested for COVID-19 because she was planning to go visit her parents.

"My grandparents wanted to see me, too, so, just to make sure that, you know, if I tested negative, that they would be okay, everything would be fine," Linscott said.

After testing positive but without showing any symptoms, Linscott told WAVE-TV the health department contacted her, requesting she sign documents.

"I agreed to comply to call the Health Department if I was to go. I was to call the Health Department if I was to leave my house for any reason," she said.

But, she chose not to sign.

"I had gotten a message from them, a text message that stated, because of your refusal to sign, this is going to be escalated, and law enforcement will be involved," she said.

Later that week, the county sheriff greeted Linscott's husband, Isaiah, at their front door.

"I open up the door, and there's like eight different people, five different cars, and I'm like 'what the heck's going on?' This guy's in a suit with a mask. It's the Health Department guy, and they have three papers for us. For me, her and my daughter," he said.

The couple was ordered to wear ankle monitors. If they travel more than 200 feet, law enforcement will be notified.

The University of Kentucky has fired its entire cheerleading staff after a three-month investigation found its cheerleaders engaged in public drunkenness, nudity, and hazing.

On Monday, Head Coach Jomo Thompson and Assistant Coaches Ben Head, Spencer Clan and Kelsey LaCroix were all fired for “failing to provide reasonable oversight” during several off-campus events involving the cheerleading team.

According to the report following the investigation, at a team retreat at Lake Cumberland, some cheerleaders performed gymnastics routines known as “basket tosses,” which involved hurling their teammates from a dock into the water while either topless (for female cheerleaders) or bottomless (for males.) These routines were done while some of the coaches were present.

“There is no indication that the individuals engaging in this behavior found it to be unwanted or unwelcome,” according to the report.

Coaches also allowed alumni of the cheerleading program to bring boats and alcohol to the retreat, then drive drunk cheerleaders around on the boats while they were partially naked. Further, the cheerleaders allegedly engaged in skinny dipping while at the lake.

According to the report, during the retreat, some cheerleaders became so intoxicated they required medical treatment.

At a separate cheerleading camp in Tennessee, some cheerleaders forced other members of the squad to stand up on a table and sing a song that had major “sexual content.”

“After they sang it once, they were encouraged to sing it again with their clothes off,” said a family member of a cheerleader who complained to the university.

Kentucky’s cheerleading program is the most prominent in the nation, having won 24 of the past 35 national championships.

“The University of Kentucky has built the nation’s premier collegiate cheerleading program. But regrettably, the integrity of the program has been compromised by inappropriate behavior by some squad members on off-campus trips and by lax oversight by the program’s coaches and advisor,” said UK president Eli Capilouto in a statement.

This type of hazing and excessive partying is not exclusive to Kentucky. In 2018, cheerleaders at the University of Kansas reported having been stripped naked during a hazing ritual involving team alumni.

The investigation at Kentucky also turned up some conflict-of-interest charges against several of the coaches. According to the report, two coaches owned their own cheerleading schools and hired members of the UK cheerleading squad to work there, leading some cheerleaders to believe working at these gyms was a requirement for being on the team.

In addition, one of the team’s advisors allegedly asked cheerleaders and assistant coaches to provide personal services for him, including lawn care. The school was concerned that the cheerleaders would feel pressured to do these personal tasks “given the power differential between the Advisor and the cheerleaders/coaches.”

In addition to great bourbon, Kentucky has blessed us with a senator who understands the danger of hypertrophied government. Unfortunately, it also elected Democrat Governor Andy Beshear, who has put the kibosh on Easter services:

For those who decide to participate in a mass gathering of any type of which the state is notified of, the license plates of those individuals will be recorded and given to health department officials. They will then visit the individuals home bringing with them an order to quarantine for 14 days.

No doubt those who then violate the quarantine will be in big trouble. Maybe ankle monitors will be used to ensure that they don’t, as is the practice in Louisville.

The Illinois State Police are warning that people who attend church services on Easter Sunday may face charges including “reckless conduct.”

The police said that they will not be storming churches that violate the governor’s stay-at-home order, but that charges could come “down the line.”

Gov. J.B. Pritzker’s stay-at-home order prohibits all gatherings of ten people or more through April 30, including church services.

Illinois State Police Director Brendan Kelly announced the potential for charges on Thursday.

But who has the True Faith?

• The "small government" GOP run Kentucky legislature just can't wait to spend tax dollars to teach the Bible.
• The fact that Christians have been fighting with each other since day one over which is the True Faith does not enter the tiny minds of the politicians.
• Let's not forget all the non-Christians in the state. Their tax dollars would be used to promote one religion to the exclusion of all other religions.  This is not a "Religions of the World" class, but a Bible class.

(CNS News)  -  Last Friday, a Kentucky bill signed by Republican Gov. Matt Bevin allowing public schools to offer elective classes teaching the Bible went into effect.

“The idea that we would not want [a Biblical literacy course] to be an option for people in school, that would be crazy,” said Gov. Bevin at the signing ceremony on June 27. “I don’t know why every state would not embrace this, why we as a nation would not embrace this.”

House Bill 128, signed by the governor in the state’s Capitol Rotunda, allows “local school boards the option of developing a Bible literacy class as part of their social studies curriculum,” according to Louisville-based WRDB.

The bill, which had 12 Republican sponsors, passed the Kentucky State House in February with an 80-14 vote in its favor.

“It really did set the foundation that our Founding Fathers used to develop documents like the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, the Bill of Rights,” Kentucky Rep. D.J. Johnson told WRDB. “All of those came from principles from the Bible.”

The new law requires Kentucky’s board of education to regulate and establish an elective Bible course, covering the Old and New Testaments as well as “Biblical content, characters, poetry, and narratives that are prerequisites to understanding contemporary society and culture.”

However, the ACLU of Kentucky expressed concerns about the state’s new law.

McConnell "optimistic" convention goes to a second ballot

(NBC News)  -  Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said on Monday that he is "optimistic" that the Republican National Convention in July will need a second ballot to decide the party's nominee.

Since Donald Trump is well ahead among pledged delegates and likely the only GOP candidate who could win the nomination on the first ballot, the Kentucky Republican's enthusiasm about a second vote suggests he does not favor Trump.

"We're going to follow the rules of the convention," McConnell told Louisville's ABC affiliate WHAS. "When a nominee gets to 1,237, he will actually be the candidate. If he doesn't, there will be a second ballot. 60 percent of the delegates who are bound on the first ballot will be free to do whatever they want on the second ballot."

He added, "I'm increasingly optimistic that there will actually be a second ballot."

But McConnell, in his remarks, is taking the view of RNC Chairman Reince Priebus, Cruz and other Republicans who have argued that the delegates can choose whichever candidate they like if they are not bound by state law. The delegates, these Republicans say, specifically pick the nominee.

McConnell has said that he could be one of Kentucky's delegates to the RNC himself.

And McConnell's stance is particularly significant because of his status as both a key Republican leader and as a person from a state that Trump won.
