DONALD Trump has a plan to offer Palestinians $5,000 each to leave Gaza for a decade, as part of a wider plan to turn it into the “Riviera of the Middle East”.

Under the plan, which runs to a 38-page prospectus and is currently circulating the White House, it would see the territory become a trusteeship under the control of the US.

While under US control it could be turned into a tourist destination and tech hub.

The Gaza Reconstitution, Economic Acceleration and Transformation Trust, or Great Trust, would Gaza’s entire two million population relocated through “voluntary” departures to another country or to restricted, secured zones within the enclave in exchange for a digital token to give up their land.

The proposals, which have been seen by The Washington Post, are likely to prove to be controversial both with the USA’s allies and Arab states regarding the rebuilding of Gaza and who oversees it, and the plan to remove the Strip’s population.

Land tokens would hand the US-administered trust the right to develop Palestinians’ property, which would be used to finance life in another country or to be later redeemed for an apartment in one of up to eight possible new “AI-powered, smart cities” which are planned to be built in Gaza.

President Donald Trump said Tuesday that the U.S. would take over Gaza and remove debris, tunnels, and explosives left there by Hamas after the war with Israel, adding that he saw America taking a “long-term ownership position.”

Trump said: “The US will take over the Gaza Strip, and we will do a job with it too. We’ll love it and be responsible for dismantling all of the dangerous bombs and other weapons on the site… and get rid of the destroyed buildings [and] create an economic development that will supply unlimited numbers of jobs and housing.”

The surprise announcement came as the president spoke alongside Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the first foreign leader to visit Trump since his Inauguration last month.

Trump had previously said that he would like to see most, or all, of the Palestinian population of Gaza moved to another Arab or Muslim country.

The idea of actually taking over Gaza, and establishing a U.S. presence, was both unexpected and completely new.

Trump added that the U.S. would develop Gaza economically, sending troops if necessary and making investments.

Now Trump is parroting Israel's plans.

Israel to develop "Prime Gaza Beachfront" Property

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Friday released a utopian plan for a rebuilt Gaza called “Gaza 2035.”

The Prime Minister’s Office published a 9-page PowerPoint file describing a future where Gaza is de-radicalized from Islamism, transformed into a trade hub of prosperity and innovation and integrated into the Middle East’s economy.

The “Gaza 2035” plan seeks to leverage Gaza’s geopolitical role in trade routes between Cairo and Baghdad, and Europe and Yemen.

The documents lay out three steps to return Gaza to self-governance and economic growth.

The first step would see 12 months of humanitarian aid, where Israel would slowly create safe areas in Gaza from north to south.

Second, a 5-10 year reconstruction process supervised by a coalition of Arab states (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Bahrain, Jordan, and Morocco).

“The plan is to move Israeli security responsibility to Israel, while the Arab Coalition will create a multilateral body called the Gaza Rehabilitation Authority (GRA) to oversee the reconstruction efforts and manage the Strip’s finances,” the Jerusalem Post reported.

Endless War: US Rejects UN Resolution on Israel-Hamas ‘Truce’

(Newswars)  The United States was one of 14 nations to vote against a United Nations resolution calling for a “humanitarian truce” in Gaza amid the Israeli-Hamas conflict.

Meanwhile, 120 countries on Friday voted in favor of the resolution, which calls for an “immediate, durable and sustained humanitarian truce.”

The United Nations General Assembly on Friday adopted a resolution calling for an “immediate, durable and sustained humanitarian truce” between Israeli forces and Hamas militants in Gaza. It also demands “continuous, sufficient and unhindered” provision of lifesaving supplies and services for civilians trapped inside the enclave, as news reports suggest Israel has expanded ground operations and intensified its bombing campaign.

During the general assembly, an amendment proposed by Canada and backed by over 35 Member States including the US, also sought an explicit condemnation of Hamas, but it did not pass after failing to get two-thirds support.

The adopted resolution marks the first formal response by the U.N. to the Hamas attacks on Israel and Israel’s subsequent counteroffensive in Gaza.

Other Security Council resolutions failed to pass on four occasions following vetoes by the U.S., Russia or China.

The 14 nations who voted against the resolution were as follows: The United States, Austria, Croatia, Czechia, Fiji, Guatemala, Hungary, Israel, the Marshall Islands, Micronesia, Papua New Guinea, Paraguay and Tonga.

Senator Marco Rubio had a terrifying suggestion for how to resolve the war between Israel and Palestine: eradicating the Gaza Strip.

During a Monday night interview on CNN, host Jake Tapper asked Rubio if there was a way to stop Hamas “without causing massive casualties against the innocent people” in Gaza.

“I don’t think there’s any way Israel can be expected to coexist or find some diplomatic off-ramp with these savages,” Rubio replied. “These are people, as you’ve been reporting and others have seen, that deliberately targeted teenage girls, women, and children, and the elderly.… Just horrifying things. And I don’t think we know the full extent of it yet. I mean, there’s more to come in the days and weeks ahead. You can’t coexist. They have to be eradicated.”

While Rubio was referring to Hamas, his unwillingness to differentiate between the militants and innocent Palestinian civilians is terrifying. Two million people live in Gaza, and more than half of them are children. Rather than give a nuanced response, Rubio instead seemed to be OK with wiping out an entire region.

US National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby confirmed that the United States will be sending the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier to the Eastern Mediterranean, after it was already announced that the USS Gerald R. Ford would be deployed as part of “support” operations related to the Israel-Gaza conflict.

However, Kirby said that the Eisenhower will not be directly joining or escorting. Instead, the carrier will be in the region for availability if called upon. While in a press briefing Kirby tried to downplay the dual carrier deployment as somewhat routine or expected, they will certainly be on standby to potentially intervene if all hell continues breaking loose in the Middle East.

Jesus a Palestinian? Linda Sarsour starts Twitter war over Christ’s nationality

Activist Linda Sarsour ignited a marathon internet debate over the nationality, and skin color, of Jesus after she claimed the prince of peace should be considered Palestinian. Many did not take kindly to the suggestion.

The controversial Palestinian-American women’s activist kicked off a social media storm this weekend with a tweet stating that “Jesus was Palestinian of Nazareth and is described in the Quran as being brown copper skinned with wooly hair.”

Before long, the tweet racked up thousands of replies, many condemning the remark as ignorant or worse.

Someargued Sarsour was “erasing Jesus’ Jewish identity,” and revising history“for her own politicized aims,” while others insisted the region had a different name in the period Jesus was born, therefore he would not be properly considered Palestinian.

“Jesus was Judean,” one user replied. “He may have been from the land that is considered Palestine, but he wasn’t Palestinian because ‘Palestine’ wasn’t the name of the land at that time.”

Yair Netanyahu, the son of the Israeli prime minister, also weighed in to dispute Sarsour’s designation, but was far less polite in his rebuttal.

“Are you that stupid? On the cross above Jesus’ head was the sign ‘INRI’ – ‘Iesvs Nazarenvs Rex Ivdaeorvm,’ which means in Latin – Jesus of Nazareth king of the Jews!” he wrote. “The Bible says that Jesus was born and raised in Judea!”

Sarsour responded to the naysayers by pointing out that Palestinian is a nationality, not a religion, “so when someone says Jesus was born in modern day Palestine that doesn’t negate that he was a Jew.”

She later revised Christ’s birthplace from Nazareth to the city of Bethlehem, which she said is today “under a brutal military occupation,” and added “Jesus was Jewish. Jesus was Semitic. Jesus was not white, blonde like the images we see today. He was dark.”

Still, the critics were unrelenting.

“It’s wild how one person can be consistently wrong about everything,” one commenter said, while another accused the activist of attempting to “hijack and remake Jesus,” adding that was “the first priority of nearly every cult.”

In the end, Sarsour decided perhaps the debate was more trouble than it was worth, abruptly declaring an end to the “Jesus talk.”

Palestinians added to “Indigenous Peoples’ Day" by University

Last week, Brown University’s Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs sent out greeting for “Indigenous Peoples’ Day Weekend,” which has replaced Fall Weekend — Columbus Day weekend — in the uber-politically correct academic environment. Brown’s action is part of the larger effort by the academic left to cast Columbus as a villain and focus on Native Americans as sainted martyrs.

But as if this celebration weren’t politicized enough, Brown made it poisonously so by including the “Palestinians” among the “indigenous people” whose plight was being observed. But what makes this story extra insidious is the fact that the school took this anti-American movement and attempted to turn it into an anti-Israel day as well. The left is so desperate to attack Israel that they twisted their own attack on the U.S. to do so.

“Indigenous Peoples’ Day (IPD),” explained the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs, “celebrates the resilience and accomplishments of Indigenous people and acknowledges the contemporary struggles indigenous communities face today. Further, IPD is an intervention against erasure, a principle barrier to the improvement of indigenous sovereignty and health status.”

The struggling indigenous people in question, according to the Diversity Office, included “567 Federally Recognized tribes, 61 State Recognized tribes,” as well as “Hawaiians and the people indigenous to its territories in the Caribbean and Pacific Oceans.” Many of these groups, the announcement went on, “experience profound disparities in health care access and health status compared to the general population, resulting in elevated rates of diabetes, liver disease, and other chronic diseases,” which are “exacerbated by a significant shortage of primary care physicians in Indigenous communities and a long-standing mistrust of the American health care system rooted in a history of genocide and forced assimilation.”

After speaking exclusively of the difficulties of indigenous people in the United States and its territories, however, the Office of Diversity and Multicultural Affairs suddenly included an oblique and gratuitous swipe at Israel: “From Standing Rock to Palestine, Indigenous communities across the world continue to experience the pernicious effects of settler-colonialism on their sovereignty, their health, and their access to their traditional lands and practices.”

(Telegraph)  -  Israel unveiled its plans for a vast underground wall around Gaza on Thursday, which military officials said would once and for all stop Hamas burrowing attack tunnels into Israeli territory. 

The £500 million subterranean concrete barrier will run for 40 miles along the entire Israeli-Gaza border and is the first underground border wall of its kind in the world. 

It is intended to prevent Hamas and other Islamist militant groups from using tunnels to launch surprise attacks into southern Israel.

The Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) have destroyed three tunnels which infiltrated into Israel from Gaza in the last three months. A senior IDF official said he was confident that once the barrier was complete, tunnels would no longer pose a threat. “That will be it,” he said. 

The barrier is expected to be completed within two years, officials said, and less than three miles have been finished so far. Underground sensors will help to detect any future tunnels while a 9-meter tall fence will prevent crossings overground.

Israeli officials refused to say how deep the wall would go but it is believed to be up to 100 meters below ground in some places. 

The construction is taking place just a few dozen meters from the Gaza border and well within range of sniper fire from Hamas observations posts inside Gaza. Officials said Hamas had made no effort to disrupt the work for fear of Israeli retaliation strikes.

Construction workers, many of them Palestinians or foreigners, wear bulletproof vests and helmets as they move around the construction site. The military has built five concrete factories along the border dedicated entirely to making concrete for the enormous barrier.   

The Israeli teams are working six days a week, extending the underground wall by around 10 meters a day, and pause only for the Jewish day of rest on Saturday. Hamas is believed to have a similarly intense tunnel-digging operation inside Gaza. 

“Our guys rest on Saturday, their guys rest on Friday,” said one Israeli official, referring to the Islamic holy day on Fridays.

Gaza family kills member who allegedly acted as Israeli informant

(Guardian)  -  A family in Gaza has killed one of its own members for allegedly passing on information to Israel that led to the deaths of three Hamas militants, Palestinian sources said.

Hamas, which rules the territory, held Ahmad Said Barhoum for several months without trial before handing him over to the family, several of whose members belong to the Islamist movement.

Witnesses said Barhoum was shot dead in an open area of Rafah in southern Gaza shortly after the handover.

The shooting was attended by family members of the three Hamas militants killed in an Israeli air raid in the 2014 Gaza war with Israel.

One of the three killed was Mohammad Barhoum, a cousin of the alleged collaborator. All were militants of Hamas’s armed wing, the Ezzedine al-Qassam Brigades.

“We carried out the punishment against our son Ahmad Said Barhoum after having been assured without a shadow of a doubt that he was implicated in the assassination [of the militants]”, the family said in a statement.
