Lowest-rated Fox News show outperforms highest-rated show on CNN

(Washington Times)  -  The least-watched prime time program on Fox News drew more viewers than its most-watched counterpart on CNN.
“Fox News at Night with Shannon Bream” drew an average of 1.5 million viewers in the month of April, according to Nielsen ratings reported by the Conservative Tribune. CNN’s most-watched show, “Anderson Cooper 360,” had an average audience of 1.1 million and placed a distant 24th among cable programs.
Several shows in Fox’s morning and daytime lineups also outperformed “AC360,” including “America’s Newsroom,” “Fox & Friends,” “Outnumbered,” “Your World with Neil Cavuto,” “Happening Now,” “Shepard Smith Reporting,” “Outnumbered Overtime” and “Daily Briefing with Dana Perino.”
It’s the latest bad news for CNN, which saw prime-time viewership decline 17 percent in the first quarter of 2018.
Not a single CNN show cracked the top 20 in total viewership, although the network’s numbers were better in the coveted 25-54 demo, among whom “AC360” placed 12th.
Fox News’ “Hannity” was the top-rated program in both total viewership (3.3 million) and among the 25-54 demo (678,000), followed by MSNBC’s “Rachel Maddow Show” with an average audience of more than 3 million.
Fox News had six shows in the top 10 to MSNBC’s four.
There were 15 Fox News and eight MSNBC shows across all time slots with higher ratings than CNN’s most-watched program.
The ratings collapse comes as CNN is perceived to have taken on an adversarial role with the Trump administration, with the president often denouncing the network as “fake news.”
