Military-Industrial Complex pushes Trump to arm the Ukraine

Merchants of Death

  • The Military-Industrial Complex has pushed the endless Russia "investigations". You can't sell weapons when we are at peace.

(Washington Examiner)  -  National Security Adviser H.R. McMaster will present President Trump with a plan to help Ukraine purchase anti-tank missiles in a effort to quell pro-Russia separatists, according to a new report.
On Tuesday, the National Security Council approved a $47 million grant package which would help finance the Ukrainian government in purchasing American weapons, including Javelin anti-tank missiles, an unnamed State Department source told ABC News.

Pro-Russian militants have been a source of conflict in eastern Ukraine since 2014 after Russia annexed Crimea.
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson and Defense Secretary Gen. James Mattis are reportedly supportive of an arms deal with Ukraine, after the Obama administration declined to help arm the country to counter the separatists.
A former Trump aide, however, stressed to ABC News that the deal could have a negative impact by damaging U.S.-Russian relations.
During his recent trip to Asia, after talking with Russian President Vladimir Putin, Trump hinted that he hopes to have Russia's help in solving several international issues, including in Ukraine.
"When will all the haters and fools out there realize that having a good relationship with Russia is a good thing, not a bad thing," he tweeted. "There always playing politics - bad for our country. I want to solve North Korea, Syria, Ukraine, terrorism, and Russia can greatly help!"
