The Walking Dead is back with 13.7 million viewers

Kicking Ass and Killing Zombies

  • My favorite show is back leaving a trail of dead and undead corpses alike. Where the show goes for the rest of the season will be interesting.
  • On a side note, The Walking Dead pulled nearly 14 million viewers.  The highest "major" network show was the CBS program Madam Secretary with 10 million. Most of the other network shows were down in the 1 million to 5 million range.

(TV by the Numbers)  -  The return of “The Walking Dead” shot AMC to the top of the cable rankings for Sunday, but the show came back with slightly smaller numbers.

Sunday’s midseason premiere drew a 6.8 rating in adults 18-49 and 13.74 million viewers. That’s down from both the final episode of 2015 (7.0, 13.98 million) and the Season 5b debut in February 2015 (8.0, 15.64 million).

“Talking Dead” (3.1) on the other hand, was way up over its last few episodes as it aired immediately after the “Walking Dead” episode instead of following “Into the Badlands.”
