History Lesson  -  1911 or 2011.  Europeans just can't keep their hands off Libya


The 100th anniversary of the Italo-Turkish War   -  The war was fought between the Ottoman Empire and the Kingdom of Italy from September 29, 1911 to October 18, 1912.

The European backed attack on Libya in 2011 falls right on the anniversary of the first war.  It appears that the more things change the more they stay the same.

As a result of this conflict, Italy was awarded the Ottoman provinces of Tripolitania, Fezzan, and Cyrenaica.  These provinces together formed what became known as the new Italian colony of Libya.  During the conflict, Italian forces also occupied the Dodecanese Islands in the Aegean Sea.

Ottoman forces lost 14,000 killed in action and 5,370 wounded.

Shortly after his "bloodless coup" against King Idris,  in 1969, Gaddafi expelled 20,000 Italians from Libya.

Herman Cain is among the Walking Dead

Herman Cain is a nice, nice man.  He would make a good Senator or Cabinet officer.  But he is not ready for prime time in the White House.  In fact, many think he is not running for President at all.

In any case, the Cain campaign is among the political Walking Dead.  The political corpse is still moving, but it is indeed dead.  In time someone will bury it.

And whatever they decide, they decide. I shouldn't have to tell them what decision to make for such a sensitive issue.  I can have an opinion on an issue without it being a directive on the nation. The government shouldn't be trying to tell people everything to do, especially when it comes to social decisions that they need to make."

Sorry Herman.  This is one of the political land mines out there and you have not thought through your position.

K.I.S.S.  -  Keep it simple stupid.  Words that Cain should have lived by.  Now it is becoming a nightmare for him.

Cain's plan suggested minimum wages block low-skill workers from finding work and proposed that they be eliminated in already struggling areas. His plan also suggested that building codes and zoning in such areas should be reviewed; if businesses can make a case the regulations are hurting the economy, they may qualify for waivers.

FEDERALISM:  Cain is now moving into the area of Big Centralized Federal Government.  The all-knowing Feds will tell local governments what to do on zoning or building codes.  But the Feds would pick and choose selected areas of the country to enforce their will the locals.  Waivers will be granted opening a monster can of worms. 

Cain suggested some leeway to boost economic development. For instance, taxes in struggling areas could be set at 3-3-3 rates, 3 percent in each category.  Again, the All-Knowing Feds will select those worthy of lower or higher taxes.  No longer is this a flat tax.

He also proposed exemptions for businesses investing in "opportunity zones" as a way to give an economic jolt to rundown neighborhoods such as the one he visited in hard-hit Detroit.

"Because you have a lot of African-Americans located in cities like Detroit — disproportionately — it would encourage businesses to stay in business there or to move there," Cain told CNN.

The inexperienced Cain did not watch where he was walking and stepped in it.



In politics you have to watch where you are walking.  Once you step into the political
shit on the road it is hard to get off and smell does not go away.

Britain's "sloth-inducing" work ethic and dependence on benefits are to blame for the current economic downturn, a senior Chinese official has claimed.

Jin Liqun, chairman of China Investment Corporation (CIC), the nation's sovereign wealth fund, warned that Europeans should "work a bit harder" if they want to pull the eurozone out of recession.

He said people in the West are too reliant on welfare payments and the benefits system, looking for external solutions to the debt crisis rather than tackling the problem from within, reports the UK Telegraph.

Mr Jin also said the long-term economic slide could only be solved by amending the restrictive labor laws that mean Western workers are unable to compete in global markets.

He told Channel Four News: "Europe is not really short of money. Europe needs to give a clear picture to the Europeans themselves and to the rest of the world that their problems could be worked out.

"The root cause of the trouble is the over-burdened welfare system, built up since the Second World War in Europe - the sloth-inducing, indolence-inducing labor laws."

"People need to work a bit harder, they need to work a bit longer, and they should be more innovative. We (the Chinese) work like crazy."

Mr Jin, a graduate of Boston University, was formerly China's deputy finance minister and vice-president of the Asian Development Bank.

He is now chairman of CIC, China's sovereign wealth fund, which has a budget of around $300 billion.

Motorists driving on expressways around Flint, Michigan are getting surprised by a stunning tactic that the Genesee County sheriff has been using to fight the flow of illegal drugs.

At least seven times this month, including Tuesday, motorists have said they have seen a pickup towing a large sign on I-69 or U.S.-23 that depicts the sheriff's badge and warns: "Sheriff narcotics check point, 1 mile ahead -- drug dog in use," reports the Detroit Free Press.


The Founding Fathers fought to the death against the British Empire to give us a Bill of Rights.  But Modern day Sheeple bleat and then lick the boots of their Puppetmasters giving away their rights. 


The checkpoints are part of a broad sweep for drugs that Genesee County Sheriff Robert Pickell and his self-titled Sheriff's Posse said are needed, calling Flint a crossroads of drug dealing because nearly a half-dozen major roads and expressways pass in and around the city.

Pickell said he decided to try checkpoints when he learned that drug shipments might be passing through Flint in tractor-trailers with false compartments.

Without a warrant from a court the dogs are used to sniff around the vehicles to check for drugs.

Based on a case out of Indianapolis, the U.S. Supreme Court held in 2000 that narcotics checkpoints where everyone gets stopped on a public road are not legal and violate Fourth Amendment protections against illegal searches and seizures, professor David Moran at the University of Michigan Law School said.

Communist Chavez to silence another TV station

media to out of business yet another opposition TV station.

Venezuelan opposition TV channel Globovision has been fined $2.1 million for its coverage of a prison riot earlier this year.

Media regulator Conatel said it was being punished for justifying crime and fuelling public anxiety.

Globovision says the fine is "unpayable" and has accused the government of trying to shut it down, reports the BBC.

President Hugo Chavez has previously accused the channel of supporting a coup attempt against him.


Venezuelan opposition TV channel Globovision dared to cover a jail riot earlier this year left more than 20 people dead.  Now they are being fined $2.1 million and being put out of business by Communist Hugo Chavez for "fueling public anxiety."


Conatel said Globovision had broken broadcasting regulations in its coverage of disturbances in the El Rodeo prison outside Caracas in June, in which more than 20 people were killed.

Conatel director general Pedro Maldonado said the channel was being fined for its "editorial conduct," which had "promoted hatred and intolerance for political reasons".

"This fine represents the economic breaking of Globovision," the channel's vice-president, Maria Fernandez Flores said.

"For years the government has tried to break us morally," she added.

The fine is the latest development in a long conflict between the government and Globovision, which has been very critical of President Chavez.

Several other private radio and television stations have been forced off air for failing to comply with regulations requiring them to broadcast government information.

Venezuela's opposition has frequently accused Mr Chavez's government of trying to gag the media.

However that story turns out, both political parties appear to be happy with the new American system of Kingship. Our elected monarch can send our military off to war based on the "authority" of the United Nations, overthrow the government of a foreign country and kill the leaders of that state.

The Constitution has no meaning.

In a just and honest nation, the new Caesar Obama would be impeached for high crimes, thrown out of office and in jail.

The so-called "small government" Republican Party strikes again.

Cold hard cash. It's good everywhere you go, right? You can use it to pay for anything.  But that's not the case in Louisiana now. It's a law that was passed during this year's busy legislative session.

House bill 195 basically says those who buy and sell second hand goods cannot use cash to make those transactions, and it flew so far under the radar most businesses don't even know about it.

"We're gonna lose a lot of business," says Danny Guidry, who owns the Pioneer Trading Post in Lafayette. He deals in buying and selling unique second hand items, reports Eyewitness News 10.

"We don't want this cash transaction to be taken away from us. It's an everyday transaction," Guidry explains.

Guidry says, "I think everyone in this business once they find out about it. They're will definitely be a lot of uproar."

Guidry feels his store shouldn't have to change it's ways of doing business, because he may possibly someday, somehow, maybe buy or sell stolen goods.  "We are being targeted for something we shouldn't be."

A state legislator says the bull shit bill is targeted at criminals who steal anything from copper to televisions, and sell them for a quick buck. Having a paper trail will make it easier for law enforcement.

But a paper trail makes it easy for Big Brother to watch over you and control your every move.

Solyndra's "Green" tax breaks in California

The snouts are deep in the taxpayer trough

• The state of California gave Solyndra $25,000,000 in "Green" tax breaks.
• California approved 33 other "Green" tax breaks for approved companies totaling $104,000,000
• All other companies that make products that are not politically correct must pay taxes

Crony-Socialism gone wild.

The crooked money given to Solyndra by Comrade Obama was bad enough, but at taxpayer's expense California has added some green icing to the cake of corruption.  

In the People's Republic of California if you make politically correct Green Products that no one wants then you are exempt from taxes.  But if you dare to manufacture something that consumers actually want to purchase then you are required to pay taxes.

A little-noticed state of California panel created with bi-partisan legislative support worked briskly to authorize $104 million in tax breaks to help "green" companies in California buy equipment and add jobs.

But the program was halted last month after the bankruptcy of Solyndra, the Fremont solar company that received $25 million in state tax breaks and, more notoriously, a $528 million federal loan guarantee despite its precarious financial state, reports the San Jose Mercury News.


GREEN MARXISM
The tax money goes in, but no jobs come out.


The Solyndra debacle is being investigated by Congress.

For qualified "Green Energy" companies the state sales tax was waived when purchasing manufacturing equipment in California.  Then-Republican Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed the bill in March 2010, when he was in the midst of an ambitious push to move California to the forefront in developing clean-energy jobs.

The bill authorized the California Alternative Energy and Advanced Transportation Financing Authority to approve sales tax exemptions on the design and manufacture of alternative energy products.

The state approved 33 applications worth $104 million in estimated sales tax exemptions. As of September, 11 of those companies have claimed $31.4 million in exemptions. 

Most of the approved exemptions were for manufacturing equipment purchased by alternative energy companies to build solar panels, to capture gas from the breakdown of organic materials and to develop lithium batteries.

In addition to Solyndra 10 other companies have claimed tax breaks.

Pro-republic protesters are believed to be secretly planning to disrupt the Queen's visit to Australia after she arrives in the country for a 10-day visit this week.

Anti-Monarchists are in the majority when it comes to support for Australia continuing its links with the Monarchy reports the UK Daily Mail.

A poll conducted earlier this year among 1,200 people showed that 41% of the people of Australia have an interest in forming a republic.   Only 41%.


Australia is not even a real country.
They don't even have their own flag.

Coming quickly to the Queen's defense, Matthew Archer, an official with the Australian Monarchist League, said any protest would be immature.

'They don't need to take to the streets - we already know that some are opposed to the Monarchy so what will they gain by telling us over and over again?' he asked.

It is amazing to me that modern people in this day and age still want and defend having a monarchy.

Queen Elizabeth of The House of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha.  Hell, the "royal" family is not even British.  They are German!

Why on earth would Australians want a German to be Queen of Australia?  Have they no pride?  No balls?

The Big Spending Republican Party

What Republican Spending Cuts? 

• A 5% increase in spending under a GOP controlled House
• Federal spending in the first nine months of 2011 was $120 billion higher than in the same period in 2010.

When Republicans took control of the House in January, they pledged to make deep cuts in federal spending, and in April they succeeded in getting a bill advertised as cutting $38 billion from fiscal 2011's budget. Then in August, they pushed for a deal to cut another $2.4 trillion over the next decade.

But data released by the Treasury Department on Friday show that, so far, there hasn't been any spending cuts at all reports Investor's Business Daily.

In fact, in the first nine months of this year, federal spending was $120 billion higher than in the same period in 2010, the data show. That's an increase of almost 5%. And deficits during this time were $23.5 billion higher.

A Republican Congress for 13 out of 17 years

Like many of you I am still waiting for those massive Republican spending cuts.  To listen to Democrats you would think the poor were being eaten at GOP BBQs and children have to sell a kidney to feed their families.

Funny.  Those spending cuts never happen no matter who is in power.  As if by magic Presidents of both parties never demand real spending cuts by using their veto.

Both parties want to hold power so badly they will tax the producers of society in order to buy votes at the next election from their supporting groups.  Buying votes is totally bi-partisan.  The results of vote buying is American Socialism, a Big Brother, Big Government, and the cradle-to-grave Welfare State.

Basically, America is ruled by one Socialist Party with right and left wings that address issues important to different voting blocks.  But the major underpinnings of American Socialism are never really questioned  -  the Marxist re-distribution of wealth through the income tax, the growth of un-Constitutional power in D.C. and the Welfare State both corporate and individual. 

The Left-Wing Socialist Party  -  The Democrats have moved far beyond their Big Government, New Deal and Great Society roots.  Democrats have fully adopted a soft version of Marxism using the Green environmental movement to enforce their Socialist will on everyone from individuals to Corporations. 

The "Green" Marxist Big Brother will tell you what business you are allowed to open, what car you can drive, what teachers can teach, what you can eat, smoke, drink, read and what job you will be allowed to have.  Just keep turning over more and more of your money to the Beltway Puppetmasters to distribute to their party supporters.

The Right-Wing Socialist Party  -   The 19th century small government Republican Party of Rutherford B. Hayes and Benjamin Harrison died long ago.

It was the GOP under Theodore Roosevelt and William Howard Taft that made Marxism and the re-distribution of the wealth the law with the progressive income tax.  It was the GOP that started so many of the Big Government agencies that intrude on our lives.

As the Democrat Party adopted Marxism the Republican Party has morphed into the radical Democrat Party of the New Deal and the Great Society.

On paper the GOP looks "Conservative", but only in relation to what the Democratic Party currently stands for.  While still pro-business the "Conservatism", the Republicans believe in is the protection of every possible Federal Big Brother spending program ever passed from Theodore Roosevelt to George Bush.

Thus we come to the story of the day that there are no budget cuts.

There are no budget cuts because the Republicans in Congress are simply radical New Deal Leftists.   Based on the Big Government programs they support, these "Conservative" Republicans would be considered the radical left fringe in a 1933 FDR Congress.

Today the United States has drifted so far to the radical left that supporters of FDR and LBJ programs are considered Conservative.

Don't get me wrong.  Come 2012 Comrade Obama must be defeated at all costs if anything like a Constitutional Federal Republic is to continue. 

But Republican voters should be aware that when they vote "Conservative" in 2012 they are voting for Franklin Roosevelt, Lyndon Johnson and more Big Government.
