Wick Wednesday - Taking The Blue Pill is Great

Blue Pilling It With John Wick

Screw politics. I ran out of fucks to give. I took the Blue Pill and feel so much better now.

Hollywood tries to create "classics" only to see 99% of movies sink into a Black Hole of raw shit.

So why John Wick?

The simple answer is Keanu Reeves. But it is more than that. The fans, not Hollywood, create Stars and Icons.

Wick has inspired fans and fan art.

Like Humphrey Bogart, Marylin Monroe and James Dean, Wick's image has become iconic. A symbol - - - of what? We will leave that to each individual.

Wick Director Chad Stahelski said influences on John Wick included the mysterious "Man With No Name" in The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (1966).

Stahelski said, "Look at Clint Eastwood in [the film] —there is so much back-story unsaid there. We're big fans of leaving it to your imagination. We just give you some gold coins, and then it's, 'Where do the gold coins come from?' We'll get to that. Have your imagination do some work there."

John Wick personies the no nonsense leave me the F*** alone attitude. A man who refuses to compromise and will not make any BS. A man with his own set of rules who doesn't compromise those rules without very good reasons. Wick personifies manhood. Something in short supply these days.
