Rand Paul: Trump a "fake conservative"

Trump a Fake Conservative
Hell, the entire GOP is filled with fake Conservatives.

(The Hill)  -  Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) in an interview Sunday called Donald Trump, who refused to rule out a third-party run during the first GOP debate, a “fake conservative."

Paul said on "Fox News Sunday" that Trump has "been for all these liberal policies and now because he can stand up and say vulgar things and he’s a truth teller. Well the truth is, what is he for?"

“I don’t think we should reward vulgarity and I don’t think vulgarity equates to insight,” Paul added. “Because you can shout and call people names and call someone 'stupid; or call someone 'fat' is that really what we’re going to make the decision on for who’s going to be our nominee?”

“I have no idea what his real philosophy is other than that he is for promoting himself,” Paul said.

Host Chris Wallace also questioned Paul on the heated exchange he had during the debate with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie over government surveillance.

“You say that you want to collect records about terrorists, not about innocent Americans. But law enforcement experts say that is naive. They say you can’t connect the dots about somebody unless you have the dots,” Wallace said.

“I don’t think there’s any instance, in which we found that the indiscriminate bulk collection of records have helped us,” he said. “Three independent commissions have looked at this, everyone has said no terrorist has been caught through the bulk collection. I do want more individualized investigation.”
