Hugh Jackman returns as Wolverine

Yes!!!!  Two more Wolverine movies
  • "The Wolverine" due out in 2013.
  • Jackman is in negotiations for "X-men: Days of Future Past" due in 2014.

Life is good.

With modern special effects the movie world entered the age of the Superhero.  I am in heaven with multiple Marvel and DC films over the last few years. . . . and more is coming.

Hugh Jackman may rejoin original trilogy stars Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen in Bryan Singer's nex X-Men film due out in 2014.  The movie also stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult.

Director Bryan Singer continues to merge past and present X-Men actors for Fox’s Days of Future Past.

Sources confirm that Hugh Jackman is in negotiations to reprise his Wolverine role in the movie, which is ostensibly a sequel to X-Men: First Class but will prominently feature actors from the first X-Men trilogy (the first two of which Singer directed).

X-Men Origins: Wolverine Trailer

Singer announced Monday that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen -- who portrayed X-Men founder Professor Charles Xavier and renegade mutant leader Magneto, respectively, in the original X-Men movies -- are joining First Class actors James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence and Nicholas Hoult says The Hollywood Reporter.

Days of Future Past is a classic storyline that unfolded in two issues of Marvel Comics' Uncanny X-Men in 1981, from writer Chris Claremont and artists John Byrne and Terry Austin. The story was partially set in an alternate future where surviving mutants have been penned in concentration camps, giant robots called Sentinels patrol America, and most of the X-Men have been hunted and killed. In the present day, the X-Men were forced to stop a key event from unfolding in order to keep that future from occurring.

Seeds of a tie-in between the trilogies were sown when Jackman memorably cameoed as Wolverine in First Class. The fanboy world began speculating about Jackman's possible return once news broke that Stewart and McKellen were returning. Jackman recently wrapped production on The Wolverine, a sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

The actor is about to open Les Miserables, which is generating massive amounts of Oscar talk.

Ian McKellen On Playing Magneto In 'X-Men: Days of Future Past': 'What A Gas!'

Bryan Singer announced that Sir Ian McKellen and Sir Patrick Stewart will both reprise their roles as, respectively, Magneto and Professor X in the next X-Men movie, "X-Men: Days of Future Past."

In an interview Sir Ian spoke about another one of his iconic roles, Gandalf in "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey," (the full conversation will publish closer to the release of "The Hobbit"), but McKellen did comment on his return to the X-Men universe and his opinions on Michael Fassbender as Magneto.

Bryan Singer announced that you're playing Magneto again. Is that something you've been wanting to do? This will be your fourth movie with Bryan Singer, did that help persuade you?

What a gas! I mean, Patrick Stewart and I have been have just been playing "Waiting for Godot" throughout England and in the West End of London. So, we've stayed in touch. We can't believe it [laughs]. I thought these were Fassbender and McAvoy's parts, but -- no, no -- we're back. We'll give them a run for their money. I mean, I haven't read the script, so I don't know how much we've got to do. But, to be back in that world, and for Bryan to be doing it -- with all the success he's had in the meantime -- it's wonderful. Wonderful.

What did you think of Michael Fassbender as Magneto in "X-Men: First Class"?

Yeah! I thought he was exactly that: first class. Excellent.

You never thought, Hey, I've got my eye on you. That's my part.

[Laughs] No. No. I thought he was better than me. But, we weren't quite playing the same character because he was so much younger than me. And the scope of Magneto, one day a Jewish actor will play it. Clearly, he's Jewish. We first meet him in at Auschwitz and there's scope for all sorts of people to pay Magneto. But, I was just the lucky guy who got to play him first.

Wolverine vs Sentinel

Many X-Men fans were badly disappointed at the the third film.
We wanted so much to see the Sentinels, but we only
got a short opening scene in the movie.

Democrat wants to abolish the first amendment

Fascist Socialist Democrat Congressman Hank Johnson (on the left, or is it right?) wants the all-powerful Big Brother state to decide what type of speech is allowed.

A Moron Democrat (is there another kind?) wants Big Brother government to limit free speech
  • Says Congress should have the power to decide what speech is "proper" and allowed in society.

Neo-Fascist Democrat Congressman Hank Johnson of Georgia wants to abolish the First Amendment of the Bill of Rights.  It appears that little oath he took to protect the Constitution has no meaning to him.

Johnson said, “corporations control the patterns of thinking” in the United States and that the Bill of Rights to the Constitution should be amended so that the government is given the power to restrict freedom of speech.

"We need a constitutional amendment to allow the legislature to control the so-called free speech rights of corporations," said Johnson.

“These corporations, along with the people they support, other millionaires who they’re putting into office, are stealing your government. They’re stealing the government and the U.S. Supreme Court was a big enabler with the Citizens United case,” Johnson said at the Annesbrooks HOA candidate Forum in Georgia reports CNS News.

Naturally this dim-bulb wants to silence any Conservative or Libertarian thought that might be expressed from corporations.  His small brain does not understand that Liberal and Socialist thought is also expressed by corporations that own firms like the New York Times, GE or NBC.

Or maybe he does understand and wants government to control all thought.  Either way he is a Fascist.

Socialist Democrat Congressman wants to abolish free speech

“They control the patterns of thinking," said Johnson. "They control the media. They control the messages that you get. So, you are being taught to hate your government--don’t want government, but keep your hands off of my Medicare by the way. I mean, we are all confused people and we’re poking fingers at each other saying, well you’re black, you’re Hispanic, immigration, homosexuals. You know, we’re lost on the social issues, abortion, contraception.

“And these folks," Johnson said, "are setting up a scenario where they’re privatizing every aspect of our lives as we know it. So, wake up! Wake up! Let’s look at what’s happening. We need a constitutional amendment to allow the legislature to control the so-called free speech rights of corporations.”

A Founding Father warned about Medical Tyranny

Benjamin Rush
Founding Father of the United States signed the Declaration of Independence
and served in the Continental Congress.

A Founding Father wanted medical freedom included in the Constitution

Health care reform is a hot topic today, as it has been for much of America’s history. Benjamin Rush, one of the signers of the Declaration of Independence, warned in 1787 that medical freedom needed to be included in the American Constitution.

Without this protection, Rush warned that the medical establishment would naturally progress – as many of mankind’s institutions do – into an oppressive dictatorship. His words, echoing from over 200 years ago, ring strikingly true today:

“The Constitution of this Republic should make special provision for medical freedom. To restrict the art of healing to one class will constitute the Bastille of medical science. All such laws are un-American and despotic. … Unless we put medical freedom into the constitution the time will come when medicine will organize into an undercover dictatorship and force people who wish doctors and treatment of their own choice to submit to only what the dictating outfit offers.”
The spirit of managerial scientific control that drives this beast is summarized in the words of Frederick Taylor, a pioneer in “scientific management.” As Taylor stated in 1907, ”Too great liberty results in a large number of people going wrong who would be right if they had been forced into good habits.” This spirit of quasi-altruistic scientific control begins to fade away towards the higher ranks of the system, however.

The potential for medical tyranny that Benjamin Rush perceived over 200 years ago crystallized when the Rockefeller and Carnegie foundations transformed the American medical establishment in the early 20th Century.

They strove to create a system of schooling to manufacture a predictable, rule following group of professionals to enforce the establishment regulations. Additionally, tax exempt foundations – through their grant making power – are able to mold the idea-sphere from which medical research emerges, or is suppressed.

The GOP is losing the middle class

You have to love those California Girls.
But the California middle class is leaving the Republican Party.

The Middle Class is telling the GOP to take a hike
  • In district after district after district, well-off middle class California voters are rejecting the Republicans and sending Democrats to Congress.
  • The Republican Party is sinking fast in the state.  In time that will make GOP control of the House of Representatives almost impossible.

By Gary;

My family came to California during the Gold Rush and never looked back at those grimy eastern states they came from.  There have been many changes over the years, but I cannot imagine living anywhere else.

But in the last 20 years there has been a earthquake of change in the voters of California.
Those were the days.
Former California Congressman
Barry Goldwater Jr.

The Super-Rich and the Poor:  The super rich in places like San Francisco, Beverly Hills and Malibu have been sending Leftists to Congress for some time now.  The same with the poor neighborhoods that want wealth re-distribution for "fairness".

That left the California middle class as the base of the right of center GOP.  But now we are seeing the middle class abandon the Republicans.

In SoCal the revolution started in 1998 when previously solidly Republican Santa Barbara voters defeated their Congressman and sent a Leftist pro-labor union Democrat to Congress.

Slowly, in middle class district after district the Republicans have lost seats.  Gone are the golden days of conservative Congressmen like Barry Goldwater Jr., Robert K. Dornan and John Rousselt.

The 2012 elections saw a downright slaughter of the California GOP.  Solid middle class GOP districts went Democrat in San Diego, Ventura County, Palm Springs, the San Gabriel Valley and Sacramento.

Republican Palm Springs just went Democrat.
Not that long ago you could drive from Santa Barbara on the California coast to Los Angeles to Palm Springs and the Arizona border and virtually never leave a Republican Congressional District.  Now every single seat is held by Leftist Democrats.
.
Republicans are losing solid middle class seats.  If the GOP cannot win over the middle class then it will become extinct.

The Golden State Olden Days
President Ronald Reagan (R-California) with Santa Barbara GOP
Congressman Bob Lagomarsino in the center and some pussy no new
taxes liar on the right.  Now Santa Barbara is represented by Democrats.

This rejection of the GOP by the middle class is not just a California issue.  In all of middle class New England the Republicans hold zero seats in the House of Representatives.  ZERO out of 21 New England seats.

In California the GOP is down to only 15 out of 53 seats.  If California goes the way of New England that almost wipes out the Republican majority in the House.  The GOP would have to rack up super-majority wins in the rest of the nation to make up for losses in California and New England.
California's Future
Dr, Matthew Lin (Republican)
Dr. Lin ran in California's first Asian
majority State Assembly District in L.A.
He came to the US with only $300
in his pocket.

Immigration  -  Yes, I know what you are thinking.  Immigration is a major issue in California.  Some 38% of the state is Latino and another 14% is Asian.

Asians are now coming to the US faster than Latinos.  Many California cities such as Monterey Park, Cupertino and San Gabriel are over 60% Asian in population.

Chinese-American vs Chinese-American

California's State Assembly Districts are huge with nearly 500,000 people.  In Los Angeles County the state's first Asian-American majority district was created.

The direction of California is clear.  The campaign was between two Chinese-American candidates.

Mitt Romney lost Los Angeles County in a landslide with only 28% of the vote.  Dr. Matthew Lin, the GOP candidate, was better able to relate to voters and in an underfunded effort still managed to win 44% of the vote running far ahead of Romney.  Proof that when properly marketed to, minority voters will consider Conservatism.

But this goes way beyond just immigration.

These California districts that have rejected the GOP are solid middle class areas.

In these middle class districts you have voters with good educations, good jobs or business owners.

This solid new middle class instead of having a last name like Smith now has the last names of Chen or Lopez.  But they are middle class through and through with the same aspirations as any other middle class anywhere on earth.

In theory they are natural Republicans, but they are mostly voting Democrat.

Unless we want to live in a one-party Marxist state, the challenge for Republicans is to get out of their country clubs and meet real people in the real world.  The GOP needs to find the issues that are important to entirely new sets of cultures who are now voting in massive numbers.

There is a brand new middle class out there waiting to be shown some attention.  Conservatives need to work these communities so new Asian and Hispanic Republicans can be sent to Congress.

Former Orange County GOP Assemblyman Van Tran
The anti-Communist Vietnamese community in California has given the Republicans a much larger share of the vote than most other immigrant groups.  To win Republicans need to recruit candidates who can speak the language of immigrant groups and relate to their issues.

California Republican registration is only 29%.
Vietnamese-Americans register Republican more than the state as a whole.

California Girls Sexy Labor Day Bikini Contest - Venice Beach
Conservatives should volunteer to help these fine young California ladies to see the  political light.

California is still the best.
You losers stuck living in Ohio, New York, Arkansas, Wisconsin and Montana can only dream about what Californians enjoy every day.

Alan Simpson to protect those who break tax pledge

Screw the voters
Alan Simpson vows to 'protect' Republicans who break with Norquist tax pledge
  • So-called "Conservatives" like Alan Simpson just don't get it.  Compromise in Washington means stealing more tax money in return for a promise from Democrats not to increase spending in the future.

Former Senator Alan Simpson (R-Wyo.) on Wednesday vowed to “protect” GOP representatives who break with Grover Norquist's anti-tax pledge.

Simpson, who along with Erskine Bowles led Comrade Obama's debt commission, said the Campaign to Fix the Debt, which he co-founded, has raised millions to go to bat for senators and representatives from both parties who come under political attack for compromising to reach a "fiscal cliff" deal.

“We will protect them,” he said at a Christian Science Monitor breakfast event. “Already the groups are circling.”

Simpson has led the charge against Norquist's Americans for Tax Reform (ATR) pledge, which has been signed by most Republicans in Congress.

He said that politicians need to avoid being enthralled to Norquist and the AARP over taxes and cuts to Medicare and Social Security.

The Campaign has millions of dollars on hand to help in political races, Simpson added.

The GOP is becoming a regional party

New England  -  Once the heartland of the GOP, now the wasteland of the GOP
  • The GOP is becoming a regional party of the South and Mid West.
  • Republicans have ceded entire sections of the nation to the Socialist-Democrats.
  • Not being competitive will over time make it almost impossible to win the Electoral College or Congress.

By Gary;

That window of victory in the Electoral College gets more narrow every election for the right-of-center Republicans.  In the Presidential race the GOP has lost all of New England and the Mid-Atlantic states down to Virginia, lost the Great Lakes states, lost Florida again and lost the entire West Coast.

To be a winning party you need to be a true nationwide party.

New England is a good example.  In the next Congress, there won’t be a single Republican House member from the entire region of New England and just two Senators: Susan Collins of Maine and Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire.  The only two GOP House members from all of New England were defeated in New Hampshire.

The New England Region

  • 12 US Senators    -    2 are Republican (down from 4)
  • 21 Congressmen  -    0 are Republican

Even with a Massachusetts Governor as the Republican nominee the election was a disaster.  Mitt Romney did not even bother to try and carry his home state and failed to carry any New England state.

Some in the party said the trouble this year was mechanical in nature and blame presidential turnout and polling for their losses. Others are of the thought that until the GOP changes its tone about social issues, any Republican will have a difficult time winning federal office in New England.

New England voters gather around to see
a rare site  -  the nearly extinct Republican elephant.

Rep. LaTourette (R-OH): GOP Has To Be a National Party
La Tourette is both right and wrong in this video.  He is stupid to kiss-up to CNN and trash the Tea Party.  Without the Tea Party the GOP would not control the House.  But he is correct that to be a national political party you cannot cede to the opposition party huge parts of the nation.

The last time congressional Republicans were practically decimated in the region was 2006 and 2008, banner years for Democrats. Then, the problem was Iraq. Now it is social issues.

Many thoughtful Republicans blame stupid candidates like Indiana Senate candidate Richard Mourdock and Missouri Senate hopeful Todd Akin for exacerbating the problem with remarks about rape.

Many also blame the lengthy GOP presidential primary they said lasted too long and brought up issues in endless live debate after debate on TV that do play well in many areas of the country.  True believers love to have that red meat thrown at them, but not all issues need to be shoved in people's faces with glee.  Tact is important.
Defeated Massachusetts
Senator Scott Brown.

Race and Politics  -  The Republicans cannot blame minorities for their poor showing like they do in many other parts of the nation.  New England is still Anglo to the core.

94% White   -   Maine
94% White   -   New Hampshire
94% White   -   Vermont
84% White   -   Massachusetts
77% White   -   Connecticut
76% White   -   Rhode Island

Compare those numbers to Texas where Hispanics, Blacks and Asians together make up 52% of the population.

State Legislatures  -  The state elections are also a disaster for Republicans.  In New Hampshire the GOP lost the lower house while in Maine Republicans lost both the House and Senate.

The only legislative chamber Republicans control in the entire region is the New Hampshire state Senate.

The GOP needs to get out of people's lives and bedrooms
  • Campaign on jobs, privacy, property rights and the Bill of Rights.
  • Freedom.  What a novel concept.  Leaving people alone might even win votes.

Bread and Butter  -  The GOP needs to win the hearts and minds of a huge mass of voters.  People always vote their pocketbooks.  That is why Socialist Democrats are popular.  They love to steal other people's money and give it away to buy votes.

Giveaways are fun for all, but employment is #1 to the folks.  Republicans need to stick to bread and butter issues at the Federal level like jobs and the taxes and debt that crushes job creation.  Always structure your position around helping voters to have a job to feed their kids.

Embrace the Bill of Rights.
The GOP needs to stop paying lip service and
enthusiastically embrace all 10 Amendments, not just
the first and second.

The Bill of Rights  -  Republicans need to read the Bill of Rights.  Really read it and really understand it.  Add in the Federalist Papers for some bedside reading.

I know that reading and understanding these documents is a major step for the Big Government loving GOP.

If Republicans follow the Bill of Rights they can deflect 90% of hot button fucking insane social issues to the states as per the 10th Amendment.

If the GOP understood the Bill of Rights they could campaign against the Big Brother surveillance society instead of voting with Democrats to create it.

You cannot be an "opposition" party to the Democrats when you work with them to grow a massive, centralized unconstitutional Orwellian State.

But what do I know?  I am just a "lunatic" fringe Constitutional Federalist.
.
(Ballotnews.org)

The map of party control of state legislatures looks somewhat better for Republicans than the Electoral College map which is a disaster.  But the real action is with spending and Big Brother government in Washington, not at the state level.

Laura Ingraham leaves talk radio

Laura Ingraham leaves talk radio . . . for now.

Ingraham said:

After more than 9 years with the distributor Talk Radio Network, I decided it was time to move on. After much thought and reflection, I have decided to pursue my first loves--modern dance and the xylophone. In the highly unlikely event that these efforts do not prove fruitful, I intend to return to radio.

Seriously--to the more than 300 stations that carry the Laura Ingraham Show and to all my loyal listeners, I feel the time is right to expand and retool my radio program and to explore other syndication options, which I am now actively pursuing. During this brief hiatus, my team and I will continue to deliver thought-provoking and entertaining analysis via my website lauraingraham.com and twitter @IngrahamAngle. And of course, I'll be doing my regular appearances on Fox News. I anticipate making an announcement concerning the show in the near future. Stay tuned!

Ingraham is the second major host to leave Talk Radio Network this year. Earlier this year, Michael Savage parted ways with the syndicator. According to trade magazines, Ingraham has approximately 5.75 million weekly listeners. She told Politico that she wouldn’t be leaving radio.

(Breitbart)

Dr. Michael Savage recently returned to talk radio.
Michael Savage’s talk radio show is at a new time, 9 pm to midnight Eastern, rather than his previous 6 pm to 9 pm time slot.
.
In late September, Savage won a lawsuit against Talk Radio Network, his previous syndicator, which in effect canceled out his contract. Other than a few Ustream appearances, he has been away from the media during this hiatus.
.
According to World Net Daily, “The arbitration panel awarded Savage more than $900,000 and ordered TRN to turn over to him all archived tapes and other recordings of his show.”
.
In the third quarter of 2012 (before he left the air), Savage was the number one most-listened-to talk radio show on the Internet according to Talk Stream Live.

These numbers must be phony!
In no rational, sane world would 3.25 million people listen on purpose to Alan Colmes.

Greg Gutfeld: The Joy of Hate

Red Eye and The Five host Greg Gutfeld talks with Nick Gillespie about his new book, The Joy of Hate: How to Triumph over Whiners in the Age of Phony Outrage, why liberals can't stand punk rockers with conservative politics, and deep-vein thrombosis in Melville's Moby-Dick.

Greg Gutfeld: The Joy of Hate, Liberal Speech Police, & Conservative Punks

Greg Gutfeld Quotes

"When one becomes a liberal, he or she pretends to advocate tolerance, equality and peace, but hilariously, they’re doing so for purely selfish reasons. It’s the human equivalent of a puppy dog’s face: an evolutionary tool designed to enhance survival, reproductive value and status. In short, liberalism is based on one central desire: to look cool in front of others in order to get love. Preaching tolerance makes you look cooler, than saying something like, “please lower my taxes.”

"Liberalism is the one-way ticket to backslapping approval among the cool kids, which makes it about as rebellious as a divorced dad getting an earring from the local mall’s Piercing Pagoda."

"Rehab for celebrities is different. It's not a life-changing thing. What it is is just something you do to dry out before you go out and get wasted again."

"Almost all of creation is due to alcohol because the only people that would ever think of having kids are drunks."

Big Brother Scans Parents and Children

A Conservative Big Brother State.

Science Fiction becomes 1984
Conservative, Republican run Mississippi is doing Big Brother scanning of school children and parents.
  • Liberal or Conservative, it does not appear to matter.  Both sides are working together to rapidly create a Big Brother tracking system that will watch everything you say, read, buy, e-mail or do from cradle to grave.
  • Don't worry.  The politicians who never lie say it is for our own good.

Some parents in Republican run Mississippi are learning about Big Brother.  They have a new routine when they drop their kids off at day care centers that are taking part in a new pilot program aimed at combating fraud and saving the state money.

Under the program, the state scans parents' fingerprints to capture biometric information, and that information is turned into a number. Then, at a day care center, parents dropping off or picking up their kids put their fingers on a pad, and a small keyboard records the exact time a child is checked in or out.

But only the parents of kids who receive subsidized child care have to do the scans . . . for now.  But when did a government program not grow and grow?  The program is roiling some parents and day care workers reports NPR News.

At Northtown Child Development Center in Jackson, one of the pilot sites, when Kim Kimbrough puts her finger on the scanner to check in her 3-year-old son, she gets a receipt before she heads to her job at a furniture store.

Big Brother  -  Science Fiction becomes Science Fact.

Minority Report - Era of total surveillance zooms-in on US
Ever evolving high-tech gadgets and the Internet have given Big Brother a peep hole into the lives of everyday Americans. Now, without the hassle of planting bugs or breaking and entering, the government can monitor virtually anything it wants.

The CIA has recently claimed it would be able to "read" devices such as dishwashers or refrigerators, with the Internet -- and perhaps even with radio waves from outside the home.

Minority Report becoming a reality

Kimbrough says her friends who used to help pick up her child are hesitant to sign up.

"A lot of people don't want to go down there and get fingerprinted 'cause they feel it's a hassle," Kimbrough says. "They don't like the idea. I really don't like it, but if that's what I have to do to stay on child care, I'll do it."

Concerns About Discrimination

The state's early child care program provides vouchers to low-income parents to help cover the cost of day care, so parents can work or go to school. More than 18,000 Mississippi children are enrolled in the program, and another 8,000 are on a waiting list.

Many day care administrators say finger scanning is unnecessary and that if parents refuse to do it, some centers would lose children and could close. They say they're forced to single out those who are receiving aid and set up a new sign-in process just for them.

Carol Burnett, director of the nonprofit Mississippi Low-Income Child Care Initiative, says providers feel that it is going to be a hardship, or discriminatory.

"The parents who have a subsidy have to come through and scan their finger at this machine, and the parents that aren't on the subsidy program don't have to do that," Burnett says. "So you've got two lines of people who are obviously distinguished by who's got the subsidy and who doesn't."

Across town at the Jamboree Child Development Center, Catreennia Harris, a full-time student, tells the center's director she's worried that she'll be stereotyped when the new system makes it obvious she gets subsidized child care, which she calls certificates.

Big Brother: RFID Chips Track Kids' Eating Habits
The digital tracking and surveillance of school-aged kids has been growing.

Schools across the country are adopting a variety of different tools to monitor students both in school and outside school. Among these tools are RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) tags embedded in school ID cards, GPS tracking software in computers, and even CCTV video camera systems. According to school authorities, these tools are being adopted not to simply increase security, but to prevent truancy, cut down on theft and even improve students' eating habits.

Your Children Are to Be Chipped Tagged & Treated Like Cattle
Proof Your Child is A Ward of The State

"I have certificates, but you don't want everybody to know everything you do or everything you get," Harris says. "And you have to scan your finger and everybody just [thinks], 'Oh yeah, she's on certificate. I bet she's on welfare, and she gets food stamps,' and all that. Just singling people out."

Concerns About Fraud

But the state says the system will prevent fraud and save money. Officials say centers that may have falsified attendance won't be able to do that and are likely to drop out of the program. And children who have too many absences could lose their vouchers.

The state spent $1.7 million to buy the equipment, and it will pay a subsidiary of Xerox nearly $13 million over five years to manage the system.

"Mississippi has always been just about the last in everything," says Jill Dent of Mississippi's Department of Human Services. "So we're taking a step forward, and we want to be one of the first states that utilize technology to be able to push a state forward."

Mississippi officials point to a similar program in GOP run Louisiana that started in 2010 that they say has been successful. Dent says her state will save at least 40 percent in administrative costs and another 25 percent on costs related to fraud. She rejects the idea that the system is discriminatory.

"Directors can find a way, if they want to do this differently in their center and keep the machine in a different room, they can do that," Dent says. "But, you know, if parents want to continue with the program, this is just part of the system."

But in Mississippi, there's so much opposition that some centers have opted out of the pilot program. Sixteen day care centers are currently enrolled in the pilot program, with some planning to drop out this month. State officials say 16 additional centers will be added Dec. 1.

The finger scanning policy was set to take effect statewide this month, but state officials now say they'll hold off on full implementation until next year.

More nanny state taxes on liquor

Conservatives want to tax you for having a good time.

New Conservative Nanny State Liquor Taxes
  • Conservatives no longer exist in either the UK or the US.  What passes for "Conservatism" is simply moderate Socialism.
  • More taxes on everyone to fund the unionized cradle-to-grave all powerful welfare state.

Conservative UK Prime Minister David Cameron is expected to press ahead with controversial plans for a crackdown on cheap booze – despite claims that most of his Cabinet oppose it.

He is due to authorise a Home Office consultation on forcing retailers in England and Wales to sell alcohol at a fixed minimum price in an attempt to curb problem drinking.
Beer
It's not just for breakfast any more.

Sources last night said the minimum price could be 45p per unit of alcohol – up from the 40p per unit proposed in the Government’s Alcohol Strategy earlier this year reports the UK Daily Mail.

But the crackdown, which has already been postponed once, is being fiercely opposed by many of Mr Cameron’s Cabinet colleagues, who fear it will hit those on low incomes without making any real difference to problem drinking.

Chancellor George Osborne is also understood to be worried that setting the minimum price too high will drive down sales sharply and deprive the Treasury – which raises £9.5 billion a year from alcohol duty – of much-needed revenue.

The Scottish government has already introduced legislation to set a minimum drink price. However, at 50p per unit it is likely to be more expensive than the limit south of the border.

Despite warnings that minimum pricing is illegal under EU law, Mr Cameron is keen to introduce it. Whitehall sources said the Prime Minister believed making alcohol more expensive would reduce alcohol abuse.

Last week, the British Medical Association and the Royal College of General Practitioners were among a group of leading medical bodies that called on the Government to set the limit at the Scottish level of 50p, which could double the cost of a bottle of vodka or cider.

After all, big government knows what is best for you at all times.  People should not be allowed to make their own decisions in life.

Some Tory backbenchers have also branded the idea as ‘unConservative’ and ‘a nanny state’ intrusion into the lives of sensible drinkers.

Nick Clegg and fellow Lib Dem Cabinet Ministers are understood to have reservations about the plan, with one party source saying: ‘We think this is illiberal.’

Conservatism  -  The New Socialism.
British and American "Conservatives" have adopted the very Socialism, nanny state government and higher taxes that they once opposed.

Conservative David Cameron thinks too much cheap liquor might make your life

More churches bombed by Muslims

Islam, the religion of peace, visits a church on Sunday.

Muslim Murderers: Eleven dead at Kaduna church
  • Scum Nigerian Muslim terrorists have repeatedly attacked churches to murder Christians while they worship God.

Muslim terrorist filth suicide bombers have attacked a church inside a military barracks in Kaduna state in northern Nigeria, killing 11 people and injuring 30.

A military spokesman told the BBC two vehicles were driven into the barracks in Jaji in what he described as "surprising and an embarrassment".

But the army suspects Islamist militant group Boko Haram, which has recently targeted churches in the state reports the BBC News.

The group is fighting to overthrow the government and impose Sharia Law.

At least seven people have died and more than 100 others have been injured after a truck loaded with explosives blew up at a Catholic church in northern Nigeria.

At Least Eight People Killed In Nigeria Church Bombing

The BBC's Will Ross in Lagos says that while Christians and churches are frequently targeted, this incident looks more like a direct attack on the military.

Nigeria's military offered a reward of 50m naira ($317,000; £197,709) for help in tracking down suspected Boko Haram leader Abubakar Shekau, and 10m each for other suspected leaders of the group.

The military said a bus entered the barracks and was driven into the wall of the church where it exploded.  Ten minutes later, a car blew up outside the church.

"The first blast caused no casualties and curious worshippers gathered around the scene looking at the debris... and that was when the second blast happened," the military spokesman said.

Eyewitnesses reported seeing bodies at the scene, and people being carried away on stretchers.

Sources at the military hospital in the Jaji told the Daily Trust that more than a dozen dead bodies as well as many injured people were brought.

"Honestly, the attack is devastating....this place is overwhelmed by corpses and injured persons. In fact, I am not in the mood of talking because as I talk to you now I counted over eight corpses," the source said.

"Many people have also sustained grievous injuries that we cannot handle here. Nevertheless, we are trying to stabilise them before we move them to either 44 Army Reference Hospital or Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital in Zaria," the source added.

At least 50 people were killed in bombings in Kaduna in June and the reprisals that followed.

On October 28, seven people died in a suicide bombing at the St. Rita's Catholic Church in Kaduna, sparking another reprisal that left two people dead.
