Afghanistan is a giant "slush fund" for the Military-Industrial Complex

War is Looting on an International Scale

  • We no longer have public debates and then have Congress declare war. Because if we declare war it is implied that a peace treaty can be negotiated and the war ended. The Military-Industrial Complex does not want the gravy train to end.
  • The last time Congress bothered to obey the Constitution and declare war in June, 1942 against Romania.

(Zero Hedge)  -  A new report from the Department of Defense Office of Inspector General (DoD IG) exposes even more fraud, waste and/or corruption in America’s ongoing war in Afghanistan.
This latest report reveals that more than $3.1 billion of U.S. taxpayer funds provided to the Afghan Armed Forces from 2014 through 2017 was grossly mismanaged.
According to the DoD IG, U.S. military leaders overseeing operations in Afghanistan “failed to accurately record” some 95,000 vehicles transferred to Afghan Armed Forces, along with fuel expenses and maintenance costs to keep the vehicles operational. The report issued last Wednesday was the last in a series of DoD IG audits that examined the Pentagon for “systemic challenges” in how senior officials oversee U.S. direct funding to the Afghan Armed Forces said the Military Times.
The DoD IG warned the lack of accountability via military leaders overseeing Afghanistan leaves U.S. taxpayer funds vulnerable to “fraud, waste, and abuse.”

“Combined Security Transition Command–Afghanistan (CSTC-A) officials did not effectively manage and oversee the U.S. direct funding provided to the Ministries of Defense and Interior, which oversee Afghanistan’s Army and National Police, respectively,” the report stated.
“CSTC-A management and oversight of the direct funding is intended to increase [Afghan security forces] effectiveness and capabilities so the [forces] can become more professional and increasingly self-sustaining.”
Stars and Stripes, an American military newspaper, said military officials blame, what else, “inadequate staffing and security concerns” for any financial discrepancies. However, the DoD IG audit determined systemic issues are to blame.

CSTC-A officials established unrealistic and unattainable goals for the Afghans to improve their own capabilities toward achieving independence in supplying their own troops, the IG also found.
Instead, the Afghan government has remained reliant on the United States to furnish its supplies because American officials have not provided adequate training, according to the report.
Additionally, the report stated CSTC-A officials have not enforced penalties within U.S. agreements with the Afghan government. Penalties include levying fines when terms and conditions of contracts are not met, such as providing detailed logs of vehicle maintenance and fuel consumption data.
Stars and Stripes provides a summary of the latest findings from the DoD IG report:
For example, Afghan officials only provided CSTC-A fuel consumption reports for the Afghan army when directly requested by the United States, though contracts require biweekly reports. The IG concluded the United States cannot be certain that at least $174 million worth of fuel was properly used.
CSTC-A also cannot properly track the status of some 95,000 vehicles that the United States has given the Afghans because officials did not properly inventory the types and quantities of vehicles provided.
Furthermore, the IG blamed CSTC-A officials for failing to properly train the Afghans to maintain those vehicles, leaving the U.S. military to spend about $21 million to replace engines and transmissions that should have been the Afghans responsibility.
The IG report was the eighth and final report in a series of oversight investigations into CSTC-A functions since 2015. The reports have uncovered widespread issues within the command, including the commands’ inability to account for more than $700 million of ammunition provided to the Afghan security forces between 2015 and 2017.
As a result of the Pentagon’s lousy accounting practices, if not outright fraud and embezzlement, the audit notes that CSTC-A officials did not have the assurance that “$3.1 billion in U.S. direct funding was used entirely for the intended purposes.”
In other words, just over $3 billion may have been stolen.
And lastly, we will leave you with David Stockman, the former Director of the Office of Management and Budget under President Ronald Reagan, who recently appeared on Fox Business — calling out Trump’s record-setting defense spending for fiscal year 2018/19 as absolutely “crazy.”

Jeff Sessions stabs America in the back

You're not a wartime consigliere."

  • Jeff Sessions is not only NOT a Wartime Consigliere but a total asshole. The corruption in the FBI, DOJ and White House is off the charts.
  • But for Sessions it is business as usual and operating at a Washington D.C. snails pace where nothing ever gets done and no one ever goes to jail.

(Washington Times)  -  Attorney General Jeff Sessions rejected requests to name a second special counsel to probe allegations of misconduct at the FBI, saying Thursday that other investigations should be able to cover the ground already.

The move came a day after the Justice Department’s inspector general said he was opening a probe into the FBI’s use of the anti-Trump Steele dossier to win approval to snoop on a Trump campaign figure in 2016.

Mr. Sessions said the inspector general’s probe, plus an internal department review by a U.S. attorney, are good enough, and there’s no need to resort to the extraordinary step of a new special counsel.

Mr. Sessions said that since the current system was created in 1999, only two cases have warranted a special counsel, and the FBI probe isn’t yet one of them.

Sacramento Home For Sale, But Not To Trump Supporters

Trump Derangement Syndrome

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — A Sacramento area home is up for sale, but it comes with a catch.

The homeowner has a political preference in mind for the next owner of her house, which has been in her family for decades.

“She entertained people from all walks of life,” said the homeowner who asked we not use her name for fear of retaliation.

“I told her [the realtor] that I didn’t want her to sell it to a Trump supporter,” said the woman.

She wants a sale contingent upon how someone votes, but is that legal?

Attorney Allen Sawyer doesn’t believe so.

“That’s an unlawful contractual term that infringes the freedom of association and first amendment rights,” said Sawyer.

But that doesn’t prevent a seller from discussing this kind of request during a sale.

“We can ask somebody how they voted, but they don’t have to tell us,” said realtor Elizabeth Weintraub.

She says the “no Trump supporter” request is a first for her.

According to the Fair Housing Act, political party affiliation doesn’t fall into one of the seven protected classes. They include race, religion, color, disability. National origin, sex and familial status.

“People have a right to believe what they want to believe and they shouldn’t be restricted from purchasing property based on that,” said Sawyer.

Despite the legal issues, certified appraiser Ryan Lundquist says the seller may be limiting the pool of potential buyers.

“39 percent of voters voted for Donald Trump in the Sacramento region. That’s an absolute fact,” said Lundquist.

College student pleads guilty to lying about rape

(New York Post)  -  A Michigan college student pleaded guilty to falsely reporting to campus police that she was attacked and raped.
Mary Zolkowski, 21, admitted in court Tuesday that she lied to authorities about being raped by a stranger in the parking lot of Delta College in Bay City, according to MLive.
“I called Delta College and falsely reported the rape on their campus,” Zolkowski told the judge, according to the site. “My mother made the initial call and I took the phone and continued to report.”
The student claimed she was silently suffering from a separate incident when she reported the bogus crime to her mom Feb. 22.

In police interviews, Zolkowski said she walking to her car when an unknown man grabbed her from behind. She claimed in her initial account that the stranger raped her without a condom while holding her face and throat.
Zolkowski, however, refused a medical examination and didn’t have any bruising consistent with the alleged injuries, authorities said.
Investigators first noticed discrepancies in her story when they contacted school officials about her claim that she dropped her classes after the attack. The school informed the officers that she dropped the courses prior to the supposed incident.
Police met with Zolkowski, who changed her story again — reportedly claiming that the suspect was an acquaintance. Authorities met with the alleged assailant, who showed them texts from the 21-year-old claiming she was raped later in the day by a stranger, according to MLive.
In a third interview, Zolkowski allegedly gave yet another version of events — telling police that she wanted to tell the suspect to stop during sex but ultimately did not.
She was arrested and charged with one count of false report of a felony. She faces up to four years in prison and a $2,000 fine.

Wear a Hijab to avoid Muslim bullying says school

Creeping Sharia

(Infowars)  -  A mother in Germany whose daughter was being bullied by Muslim students because she was blonde, Christian and didn’t wear a headscarf was told by the headmaster of a school in Frankfurt to cover her up with a hijab.
The mother of the student told BILD that her daughter was being bullied by Muslim girls to such a degree that she had to “take them out of school for protection.”
“She was beaten and verbally attacked on the way to school,” said the mother, explaining that abuse was because her daughter has blonde hair, doesn’t wear a headscarf, has a German-Hebrew name and is a Christian.
When the headmaster was informed of the situation, he told the mother to cover up her daughter with a hijab.
“Your daughter does not have to say that she is German. Besides, you can give her a headscarf!” the mother was told.

The school refused to comment on the story.
Meanwhile, at another school in in Ennepetal, children were bullied for eating gummy bears because the “impure” sweets contain contain pork gelatin and are therefore not halal.
The report also mentions the case of two fourth-graders from Bavaria, who came home crying before telling their father, “This student has said he is cutting off our heads because we are Christians.”
The mother of a third grader in Bonn also complained to a school after a Muslim student told her daughter, “Your parents will burn in hell if they do not believe in Allah.”
The story is yet another example of religious bullying and the Islamist takeover of schools in heavily migrant populated areas of Germany.
As we reported yesterday, the president of Germany’s Teachers Association has warned that schools with over 70% migrant students are spiraling out of control, with attacks on female teachers and Jewish students becoming commonplace.
Heinz-Peter Meidinger told BILD that a story in Berlin about Muslim migrant students circulating ISIS beheading videos was not a lone case and that such propaganda is “spreading like wildfire”.
Meidinger said that the presence of security guards at schools, a rarity in European countries, was “synonymous with a capitulation,” and that the situation had worsened since the influx of around 2 million new migrants from 2015 onwards.

Jessica Jones, Season 2

An Alcoholic Superhero
"Alcohol is like love. The first kiss is magic, the second is intimate, the third is routine."
Raymond Chandler

By Gary;

I ignored Netflix's Jessica Jones for a long time. Heck it came out at the tail end of 2015, and the last thing I wanted was to waste time on a comic hero I never heard of.

Then in 2017 came along Netflix's The Defenders series with Daredevil and Jessica Jones. I was not entirely displeased.

There was a certain something about Jones that caused me to go back to the series. So as I drifted through the Netflix selections there was Jessica Jones again. This time I clicked. . . . not just clicked, but got hooked into another binge watch.

A superhero who is a alcoholic, rude, asshole.  Something different.

Shades of Philip Marlowe and Sam Spade we see superhero Jones as an alcoholic greasy private eye in a crappy building surrounded by low lifes and druggies. Jones pretty much does not give a damn about anyone and takes clients to be able to buy booze.

There is a certain 1940s film noir quality to the season one 13 part Jones series.  Sort of The Maltese Falcon meets The X-Men if there is such a thing.

I gave season one an 8 out of 10 rating.

Season 2

It took a few days to power through 13 one-hour episodes of season two. That takes some dedication.

The results?  Mixed.

The supporting characters played by Carrie-Anne MossEka Darville and Rachael Taylor grew in importance and depth. Krysten Ritter's Jones character remained rather flat in my eyes.

The key weakness of the season was the lack of a true supervillain.

Having Jones' mother as the villain did not cut it with me. Plus the mom's character and acting were rather weak.

In season one Jones was fighting against a mind controlling mutant played by David Tennant.  Tennant was fantastic. A hard act to follow.

Also the displayed "superpowers" of the Marvel characters were minimal. Budgets being the main reason I suspect.

I felt season two meandered a bit from character to character. Not really sure what direction to take. The film noir elements were wisely kept in place, but a solid direction was lacking.

The show is well worth watching. But my rating drops it by one point.

Rated 7 out of 10

“We need a disney princess who’s had an abortion” says Planned Parenthood

Retard Alert
Liberalism worships the killing of babies

(World Net Daily)  -  Many little girls in America grow up wanting to be Disney princesses. They’re beautiful, kind, courageous, trustworthy and widely loved.
But are the nation’s little ones ready for a new Disney starlet who has aborted her unborn baby. Or perhaps a Disney princess who is transgendered?
In a since-deleted tweet Tuesday, a Planned Parenthood affiliate in Allentown, Pennsylvania, called for the alternative Disney princesses.
“We need a disney princess who’s had an abortion,” the tweet from Planned Parenthood Keystone stated. “We need a disney princess who’s pro-choice.”

The tweet continued: “We need a disney princess who’s an undocumented immigrant. We need a disney princess who’s actually a union worker. We need a disney princess who’s trans.”
It’s unclear if there would be a demand for such Disney starlets – or whether little girls would want to dress up as a pro-choice or trans princess for Halloween or a trip to Disneyland.
“Though the tweet was so obviously egregious, it just put out in the open what Planned Parenthood has been doing for years – and using our tax dollars to do it,” wrote LifeNews’ Micaiah Bilger.
The Pennsylvania Family Institute noted that the Pennsylvania abortion affiliate received $3.5 million in just 2016 to promote its agenda. Every year, the national organization receives approximately $500 million in taxpayer funding.
