RIYADH, SAUDI ARABIA (BNO News) — Four drug traffickers from Syria and Iran were decapitated by sword in northern and eastern Saudi Arabia on Tuesday, the government said, disregarding concerns raised by human rights organizations and raising the number of people executed over the last month to 30.

Three of the latest executions took place in the northern Al Jawf Region, while the fourth took place at an unspecified location in the kingdom’s eastern region, according to four separate statements issued by the Saudi Interior Ministry. It warned that the government will continue to carry out harsh punishments against those who traffic drugs.

“The Interior Ministry reminds the public that the Government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques (King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud) – may Allah protect him – continues the fight against drugs of all kinds as it inflicts serious harm on the individual and society,” the ministry said in its statement. “The most severe penalties on the perpetrators are derived from the righteous approach of Sharia law.”

Tuesday’s beheadings raise the number of people executed in Saudi Arabia since the beginning of August to 30, leading to condemnation from human rights organizations as many have been killed for non-lethal crimes. “Any execution is appalling, but executions for crimes such as drug smuggling or sorcery that result in no loss of life are particularly egregious,” said Sarah Leah Whitson of Human Rights Watch.

Amnesty International also expressed its concern last month after four family members were executed on the same day for merely possessing hashish. “The recent increase in executions in Saudi Arabia is a deeply disturbing deterioration. The authorities must act immediately to halt this cruel practice,” said Said Boumedouha of Amnesty International.

At least 45 people have been executed in Saudi Arabia so far this year, following 79 executions last year. The kingdom applies the death penalty for a large number of crimes, including drug offenses, apostasy, sorcery and witchcraft. Both witchcraft and sorcery are not defined as crimes in Saudi Arabia, but human rights organizations say such charges have been used to prosecute people for exercising their right to freedom of speech or religion.

The "moderate" Big Government loving GOP establishment has been beating the election drum lately for Mitt Romney to make another try in 2016.

This makes it harder and harder for me to keep down my lunch.

Romney is a nice guy blah, blah etc.  But he has always been a second rate candidate.

Romney lost his 1994 U.S. Senate race in a huge 17 point landslide.  In his one claim to fame Romney won his race for governor of Massachusetts with 49% of the vote.  He refused to run for re-election knowing he would be defeated.

Spring forward to 2008.  Romney was "anointed" (not by me) as the Conservative candidate against John McCain.  He couldn't even beat McCain.

In 2012 Romney had a great deal of trouble with GOP voters in primary after primary.  He went on to be crushed by the Obama machine in a November election in which he could not carry his own home state.

Sorry Mitt.  Go back to your garage with elevators and enjoy retirement.

The GOP Needs New Blood

Romney will be nearly 70 years old in 2016.  It is time for a new generation of younger Conservatives to have their shot at the White House.

And we need badly to get control of the White House.  Another Democrat win will see the Federal courts flooded with Leftist appointees and mountains of new socialistic regulations.

The field of GOP candidates is wide, but none of them have fired the imagination of the public.  The "leaders" in a recent poll show Chris Christie and Jeb Bush tied at 13% each with the rest of the pack sucking wind in the single digits.  GOP voters are not excited about anyone at this stage.

Personally I am looking hard at Governor Scott Walker of Wisconsin.  He has done good work in his state and has proven he has the balls needed to stand firm against attacks from the Left.

To win in the electoral college the GOP needs to carry states in either New England or in the Great Lakes region.  Romney failed in New England.  That leaves the Great Lakes as the GOP target and Scott Walker as an obvious consideration.

But please, no more talk of Romney.

Bottom Line: Romney was a Failure.
Could of, should of does not count.  The bottom line is Mitt Romney brought nothing to the Electoral College table.  He lost the key states of Florida, Ohio, Iowa and Virginia.  But worse Romney lost the 11 electoral college votes of his home state of Massachusetts in a 23 point Obama landslide.

What is the point of nominating the governor of a state who cannot even carry his own home state for President?  Also why select a candidate from New England who failed to bring a single New England state into the GOP column?

UK to hold ‘De-Radicalization’ Schools for Jihadis

Britain's governing coalition has agreed that potential Jihadis who return to Britain from abroad should be forced to undergo a de-radicalisation programme when they arrive back in the UK.

The proposal is one of a series of measures agreed by the Conservative Party and the Liberal Democrats who form Britain's coalition government. Also proposed is a new law to force airlines to share full passenger lists with police and security agencies, and plans to temporarily suspend to passports of UK citizens fighting for ISIS, preventing them from coming home reports Breitbart.

According to the Sun, talks over the measures were "tense" and going on well into the night last night, ahead of the Prime Minister's emergency statement in the House of Commons this afternoon.

The proposals come after the UK's offical terror threat level was raised last week to severe, meaning that an attack is "highly likely".

Security sources have also said that there is a risk that ISIS sympathisers may perform a "marauding terrorist firearms attack" (MTFA), which involves opening fire in a crowded place with automatic weapons.

Although the Prime Minister is determined to plug any gaps in the UK's defences, Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg is under pressure from senior members of his own party block any further clampdown.

One former leader, Paddy Ashdown said that is was "the job of politicians to act but as jealous protectors of our liberties," while another, Sir Menzies Campbell, said that stripping UK jihadis of their citizenship could "constitute illegality".

Tests by the state government of Saxony show that more than one-third wild boars gave off such high levels of radiation, thought to be a legacy of Chernobyl, that they were unfit for human consumption.

Even though Saxony lies some 700 miles from Chernobyl, wind and rain carried the radioactivity across western Europe, and soil contamination was found even further away, in France.

Wild boar are thought to be particularly affected because they root through the soil for food, and feed on mushrooms and underground truffles that store radiation. Many mushrooms from the affected areas are also believed to be unfit for human consumption reports the Telegraph.

Since 2012, it has been compulsory for hunters to have wild boar they kill in Saxony tested for radiation. Carcasses that exceed the safe limit of 600 becquerels per kg have to be destroyed.

In a single year, 297 out of 752 boar tested in Saxony have been over the limit, and there have been cases in Germany of boar testing dozens of times over the limit.

The radioactivity causes economic problems as well. Many hunters sell the boar as game, and across Germany hundreds of thousands of euros are paid out each year out in government compensation to hunters whose kills have to be destroyed.

"It doesn't cover the loss from game sales, but at least it covers the cost of disposal," Steffen Richter, the head of the Saxon State Hunters Association, told Bild newspaper.

Germany's radioactive boar problem is not expected to go away any time soon. With the levels of contamination still showing in tests, experts predict it could be around for another 50 years.

Meanwhile in Fukushima, Japan the government says there is nothing to worry about.  All is well with the nuclear clean up.

The Pentagon says U.S. military forces have targeted the Islamic extremist al-Shabaab network in an operation in Somalia.

Pentagon spokesman Rear Adm. John Kirby says the U.S. is looking at the results and will provide more information when appropriate. No further details were available.

Translation  -  We are busy conducting another unconstitutional war in Africa.  Please stop asking us fucking hard questions that we do not want to answer and just accept the press releases we give you as fact.

Monday’s action comes after Somalia’s government forces regained control of a high security prison in the capital that was attacked Sunday by seven heavily armed suspected Islamic militants who attempted to free other extremists held there. The Pentagon statement did not indicate whether the U.S. action was related to the prison attack reports Fox News.

Somali officials say all attackers, three government soldiers and two civilians were killed. The Mogadishu prison is an interrogation center for Somalia’s intelligence agency, and many suspected militants are believed to be held there.

The Somali rebel group al-Shabaab, which is linked to Al Qaeda, claimed responsibility for the attack that shattered a period of calm in Mogadishu after two decades of chaotic violence. The attack started when a suicide car bomber detonated an explosives-laden vehicle at the gate of the prison, followed by gunmen who fought their way into the prison.

It was al-Shabaab gunmen who attacked the upscale Westgate Mall in Nairobi, Kenya, with guns and grenades last September, killing at least 67 people.

The Dawn of Libya militia is not associated with the extremist militia Ansar al-Shariah, which Washington blames for the assault on the US consulate in Benghazi on 11 September 2012, which killed Stevens and the three other Americans.

On 26 July, US diplomats evacuated the compound and the capital to neighbouring Tunisia under a US military escort as fighting between rival militias intensified. The State Department said embassy operations would be suspended until the security situation improved. The fighting prompted diplomats and thousands of Tripoli residents to flee. Dozens were killed.

A video posted online surfaced on Sunday, showing men playing in a pool at the compound and jumping into it from the roof. Voice heard in the video identified it as the US embassy compound.

In a message on Twitter the US ambassador to Libya, Deborah Jones, said the video appeared to have been shot in at the embassy’s residential annex, though she said she couldn’t “say definitively” since she wasn’t there. She is now based in Malta.

“To my knowledge & per recent photos the US embassy Tripoli chancery & compound is now being safeguarded and has not been ransacked,” she wrote on Twitter. She did not immediately respond to a request to elaborate.

A State Department official later said in a statement: “We’ve seen the reports and videos and are seeking additional details. At this point, we believe the embassy compound itself remains secure but we continue to monitor the situation on the ground, which remains very fluid.”

A British student has thrown in his lot with hundreds of UK citizens fighting with the Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS), bragging of joining the “golden era of jihad” in a new online video.

In the video, 21-year-old Londoner Hamzah Parvez called on fellow Muslim Britons to “come to the land of jihad and shout Allah,” while claiming he has been fighting with the IS for five months.

“This is the golden era of jihad,” says Parvez in a thick London accent, his face hidden behind a black scarf. “What are we doing sitting in the UK? Sitting in the land which kills Muslims every day. What are we doing in their lands? It is not the lands for us.”

This is the latest video to emerge since James Foley, a US freelance journalist captured by militants in Syria in 2012, was beheaded on film by another British jihadist reports RT News.

In it, Parvez urges other British Muslims to join the foreign fighters, where there are “jobs for doctors, nurses, architects, builders, even for street cleaners in the Islamic State.” The footage is thought to be the first of a British citizen fighting in Iraq rather than Syria.

 

 

‘I have no plans to come home’

It is alleged that Parvez, who came from a stable West London background, convinced his family to pay for a study trip to Germany. He then slipped out of Europe and traveled to the Middle East to join the estimated 2,000 foreign fighters in the region.

His family is speaking out to warn against the dangers of radicalization among young British Muslims. A member of the Parvez family told ITV News of their devastation at his decision to abandon his home and join the IS, and that the ‘swaggering militant’ bore little resemblance to the brother and best friend they remembered.

“That's not my brother. My brother doesn't act like that,” one family member said. “My brother doesn't call people to do violence against others. I don't recognize him. That’s just the same body, it’s not the characteristic of my brother. It’s not the way he speaks. It’s not the way he acts. It’s not the way he addresses people. That’s not my brother.”

The family says Parvez called them this week and admitted he was fighting with ISIS, but laughed when confronted about his lies. One brother says he asked, “Can you admit that you lied to us? Can you say it to us that you are sorry? And he said I’m sorry and the way he said it, he laughed. I felt like he didn't mean it.

“He said, ‘I have no plans to come home.’ My sister asked the question ‘What if your mum or dad died?’ He said ‘I would pray for them.’

“That's when I lost it. I started shouting at him, I started swearing at him, ‘These are your parents! These are the people since day one have been there for you, and you say you wouldn’t attend their funeral and why? Because you want to serve this stupid leader, this self-proclaimed leader, over my parents,’” the brother said.

Around 30 UK citizens every month are now traveling to Syria and Iraq across the frontier, in a journey dubbed the ‘Jihad Express’. About 500 British citizens are believed to have traveled to Syria to join militant groups, though some have estimated that figure could be up to three times higher.

Notes From The Police State  -  Two Northern California cities have made plans to rid themselves of armored vehicles built to withstand roadside bombs that their police got for free from the U.S. Defense Department, in a move that follows criticism of the police handling of protests in Missouri as too militarized.

Officials in San Jose and Davis took steps to jettison their so-called Mine Resistant Ambush Protected vehicles this week.

Also in recent days, a sheriff in New Jersey said he would stop the acquisition of a similar vehicle, and two police departments in North Carolina announced plans to hold forums to hear concerns about law enforcement's militarization reports Reuters News.

Much of the controversy over the use of military equipment centers on the Pentagon's excess property program, which gives unused equipment to police forces across the country. The program has come under scrutiny after protests over the shooting of an unarmed black teenager by a white police officer in Ferguson, Missouri, where rifle-toting police in armored vehicles faced off against demonstrators in a response critics say helped fuel outrage.

In Davis, a college town near the California state capital of Sacramento, officials say residents' unease over the mine-resistant vehicle was heightened by controversy over a university police officer's pepper spraying of seated protesters in 2011.

On Tuesday, dozens of residents spoke at a Davis City Council meeting to press it to jettison the military vehicle, and the council voted 3-1 to ask the police department to come up with a plan to do that.

"This vehicle symbolizes very destructive forces, and I think it creates fear to bring it into the community,” City Council member Robb Davis said in a phone interview.

Davis police chief Landy Black at the meeting defended his department's acquisition of the vehicle, saying it would protect civilians and officers. A number of police officials in the United States have cited the proliferation of high-powered rifles as a reason why they need military equipment.

In San Jose, assistant chief of police Edgardo Garcia sent city leaders an email on Thursday saying his department would return a mine-resistant vehicle to the Department of Defense. Garcia mentioned "community perceptions of such a vehicle" as one factor in the decision.

The police force in Albuquerque, New Mexico, also has moved to give up a mine-resistant vehicle.

U.S. police forces began receiving the vehicles in large numbers in 2013, said Kara Dansky, senior counsel with the American Civil Liberties Union.

In a report this year titled "War Comes Home," the ACLU said hundreds of law-enforcement agencies appear to have received the vehicles, but Dansky said the organization has not obtained an exact count.

"Our concern in our investigation was the use of paramilitary vehicles and tactics, like using armored vehicles to engage in ordinary law enforcement activities like searching people's homes for drugs,” Dansky said.
