Tomb Raider, also known as Lara Croft: Tomb Raider is a media franchise that originated with an action-adventure video game series. The franchise focuses on fictional British archaeologist Lara Croft, who travels around the world searching for lost artefacts and infiltrating dangerous tombs and ruins.
Tomb Raider games have sold over 100 million copies worldwide.
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider is a 2001 action adventure film based on the Tomb Raider video game series featuring the character Lara Croft, portrayed by Angelina Jolie. A sequel, Lara Croft: Tomb Raider – The Cradle of Life, was released in 2003.
A 3rd film, Tomb Raider was released in 2018 stars Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft.
A live-action series is currently in production at Amazon MGM Studios staring Sophie Turner.
