Now legal to carry guns in college

People are Idiots

  • Universal Truth of Life #17 reads:  "People are fucking idiots."  That means I have a lot of trouble with the different variations of open carry pushed by the ultra-gun lovers.
  • Would you feel comfortable if six tattooed gangbanger types walked in to McDonalds legally packing heat around children eating lunch???  I don't want to live in that type of wild west culture.

(New York Post)  -  A new law went into effect in Texas on Monday that allows certain students to bring guns into classrooms, with supporters saying it could prevent mass shootings and critics saying the measure will endanger safety on campuses.
The so-called state “campus carry” law allows people 21 and older with a concealed handgun license to carry pistols in classrooms and buildings throughout public colleges, including the University of Texas system, one of the nation’s largest with an enrollment of more than 214,000 students.
The law took effect on the 50th anniversary of one of the deadliest U.S. gun incidents on a college campus, when a student named Charles Whitman killed 16 people by firing from a perch atop the clock tower at the University of Texas at Austin, the state’s flagship public university.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott, a Republican who supports campus carry, said a gunman could already bring a firearm on to campus, and the law could prevent mass shootings because someone with a licensed concealed weapon could be ready to confront a gunman.

AUSTIN, Tex., Aug. 1 - A kill-crazy ex-marine slaughtered his wife and mother today, then hauled an arsenal of guns to a perch high on the University of Texas tower and launched an orgy of sniping in which 13 died and 31 were wounded. - http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/ex-marine-charles-whitman-snipes-victims-tower-1966-article-1.2733926

Oh the irony...

A law allowing concealed handgun carry on campuses went into effect today (the 50th anniversary) to allow students and faculty to defend themselves from Comanchero raids, Pancho Villa’s insurgents and bushwhackers of all sorts.

Students over age 21 were already allowed to carry concealed handguns with a permit in quads and public areas, because Texas, and the new law extends that to classrooms and other campus buildings. So now, if somebody tells you to be quiet in the library, you better consider the consequences of flipping them off!

Mr. Goodstuff, I worry about the average 18 - 22 year old who has more balls than brains. I have been there and can see tempers out of control, drinking etc. mixed with guns.

Please address my McDonalds example. Gangbanger and wannabe trash not on parole would have the right under open carry laws to legally strap on their Glock and roam the streets. Do you really want thousands of scum like that openly armed in restaurants and Walmarts????

I am a total 2nd Amendment guy but this trend bothers me.
