We the People
- State legislatures have worked to nullify the unconstitutional laws passed by the bi-partisan Washington D.C. funded Oligarchy Elites.
- Now many legislators are looking for a new Constitutional Convention to restore power to the people.
Delegates from across the country will meet in Indianapolis to discuss the process for states to amend the U.S. Constitution without congressional approval.
The June 12-13 gathering of The Mount Vernon Assembly will focus on shaping the rules and procedures for a Convention of the States.
Indiana Senate President David Long tells The Times of Munster that the group won't propose any amendments this time reports ABC News, the Indy Channel.
Two-thirds of state legislatures must ask Congress to call a Convention of the States to propose amendments. The amendments can be added to the Constitution without congressional approval so long they are ratified by three-fourths of the states.
The process has never been used. Traditionally, two-thirds of Congress must propose an amendment and 38 states must ratify it before it can take effect.
From the 2013 meeting - Following the meeting, Arkansas State Senator Jason Rapert echoed Sen. Omdahl's sentiment. "Overall, it was historic, and I think it is a beacon for the rest of this nation to know the state legislators, of which there are 7,383 of us, are standing together to tell the 535 in Washington, ‘You are no longer doing your job. You haven't passed a budget in a number of years. You allow the President to step outside of his executive authority and are not holding him accountable. You're drowning the nation in debt, and we want it to stop.'"
