Pothole Filler Pete Buttigieg got only 8,500 votes in his last election

Pete The Pothole Filler
Runs For President
Mayor Pete is Famous for Two Things:
1)  Filling potholes as mayor of a tiny town
and
2)  Having sex with men

EDITOR  -  Mayor Pete might, on a good day, be "qualified" to move from city hall to a State Senate seat - - - but the White House???  What an ego.

Democrats continue ripping Mayor Pete Buttigieg for only earning 8,500 votes in his last campaign for re-election as the Mayor of South Bend, Indiana — which has a population of roughly 100,000 people.

Former Deputy Chief of Staff to Sen. Harry Reid Adam Jentleson mocked Buttigieg on Friday after the mayor released a new ad against giving tuition-free college education for children of wealthy parents.

“A guy who received a total of 8,500 votes in his last election now wants to be POTUS because he believes in his own ambition above all else,” he wrote on Twitter.

Liberal Snowflake students walk out on VP Pence

Rude Little Leftist Pricks

  • Leftist scum always thinks they are more important than anyone else. So they try to ruin the graduation of all students to advance their cause of the moment.

(GMA)  -  A group of graduating seniors from the University of Notre Dame turned their backs on their own graduation ceremony in protest of Vice President Mike Pence, who gave their commencement address there on Sunday.
The protests, which were organized by a student activist group at Notre Dame called We Stand For, were staged in response to "marginalized people affected by Pence's politics," according to a Facebook post published by the group last week, which urged students to join them in the walk out.
"We invite all students, faculty, and families who will be attending the Commencement ceremony to walk out with us as we take back our graduation and show our dissatisfaction with the University's selection of Mike Pence as honored speaker,” the group wrote. "We also will walk out in dignity and solidarity with all marginalized people affected by Pence's politics, both on this campus and throughout our nation."

Video of the protest shows students leaving the facility without any signs of disruption. Many of them were wearing rainbow colored accessories in solidarity with LGBTQ politics.

The speech marked a homecoming of sorts for Pence, who served as the governor of Indiana while many of the students who graduated today were attending school there.
Aside from those who walked out on him, Pence was greeted warmly by the students, some of whom booed the protesters.
The vice president used the opportunity of the speech to advocate for free speech on college campuses, and criticize what he called "administration-sanctioned political correctness."
“While this institution has maintained an atmosphere of civility and open debate, far too many campuses across America have become characterized by speech codes, safe zones, tone policing, administration-sanctioned political correctness — all of which amounts to nothing less than suppression of the freedom of speech,” he said in the address.
He called the atmosphere of policing speech "destructive of learning and the pursuit of knowledge."

Seventh Graders Taught the Benefits of Sharia

Some women have a different point of view on Islam.

Propaganda at School

(Courier Journal)  -  Parents in Southern Indiana are upset by a middle school worksheet's portrayal of "Sharia law," which they say casts the Islamic code in a positive light while ignoring human rights violations and the oppression of women.

“The way that the worksheet is left would be like describing how effective Hitler was at nationalizing Germany and creating patriotism but leaving out that he slaughtered 6 million Jews," said Dean Hohl, one of several parents who spoke out against the assignment at a recent New Albany-Floyd County school board meeting.

He added: "I’m just not OK with my daughter – or any child that age – leaving class with the understanding that anything about Sharia law is OK.”

The worksheet, assigned to seventh-graders at Highland Hills Middle School, presents a passage written by a fictional 20-year-old Saudi woman named Ahlima, who feels "very fortunate" to live under Sharia law in Saudi Arabia. She writes about how she will soon become a man's second wife and explains her modest dress: "I understand that some foreigners see our dress as a way of keeping women from being equal, but ... I find Western women's clothing to be horribly immodest.”

“That document by itself, it’s almost propaganda,” said Jon Baker, whose daughter also received the worksheet. “If you read that, you would think everything’s wonderful in that world.”

Indiana Bill Takes on “Policing for Profit”

What Does Crime Have to do With it?

  • There is along hard fight at the state level to protect our private property from being stolen without a trial and the cash given to the police.
  • Special Note  -  The "small government" GOP in Congress is all in favor of taking your home, car or personal effects without a trial. That is reason #38 why I left the authoritarian Republican Party.

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (Tenth Amendment Center) – A bill filed in the Indiana Senate would reform the state’s asset forfeiture laws to prohibit the state from taking property without a criminal conviction. The legislation also takes on federal forfeiture programs by banning prosecutors from circumventing state laws by passing cases off to the feds.
Sen. Phil Boots (R-Crawfordsville) introduced Senate Bill 8 (SB8) on Jan. 3. The legislation would reform Indiana law by requiring a criminal conviction before prosecutors could proceed with asset forfeiture. Under current law, the state can seize assets even if a person is never found guilty of a crime, or even arrested.

ADDRESSES FEDERAL PROGRAMS
SB8 also closes a loophole that allows prosecutors to bypass more stringent state asset forfeiture laws by passing cases off to the federal government under its Equitable Sharing forfeiture program.
The proposed law would repeal Section 9 IC34-24-1-9 permitting the state to turn over seized property to the federal government.
Barring state and local law enforcement agencies from passing off cases to the feds is particularly important. In several states with strict asset forfeiture laws, prosecutors have done just that.
By placing the case under federal jurisdiction, law enforcement can bypass the need for a conviction under state law and collect up to 80 percent of the proceeds from forfeited assets via the federal Equitable Sharing Program.
For example, California previously had some of the strongest state-level restrictions on civil asset forfeiture in the country, but law enforcement would often bypass the state restrictions by partnering with a federal asset forfeiture program known as “equitable sharing.”
Under these arrangements, state officials would simply hand over forfeiture prosecutions to the federal government and then receive up to 80 percent of the proceeds—even when state law banned or limited the practice.
According to a report by the Institute for Justice, Policing for Profit, California ranked dead last of all states in the country between 2000 and 2013 as the worst offender.
During the 2016 legislative session, the state closed the loophole.
As the Tenth Amendment Center previously reported the federal government inserted itself into the asset forfeiture debate in California. The feds clearly want the policy to continue.

Woman escapes husband by biting his scrotum

Retard Alert
Fact of life #37.
Stupid people breed in great numbers

GREENWOOD, Ind. (Fox 59)  –  A Greenwood man was arrested after an altercation with his wife that ended when she bit his scrotum.
Police were called to a home last Saturday in the 2000 block of Blossom Drive on a report of domestic battery. When officers arrived, the husband, Dan Deaton, was leaving the scene and failed to stop  at a stop sign. An officer pulled him over and asked where he was headed, and Deaton said he was going to the police station to report battery.

Deaton told the officer his wife started an argument with him and would not leave him alone even though he asked her to leave.
Deaton said he turned the mattress over on her and sat on her to try to calm her down, but she but turned around and bit his scrotum.
Deaton said he was leaving the residence to get away from her and come back with a cool head tomorrow.
Police spoke with Deaton’s wife and she said the argument was about his loyalty in the relationship. She said Deaton shoved her and threw her down the stairs.
She said Deaton then mounted her chest, sitting on her and putting his hands over her face to stop her from breathing. She said she was able to get free by biting his scrotum.
Deaton was arrested and charged with domestic battery.

Ted Cruz a 'self-centered, narcissistic, pathological liar'

Asshole Alert!

  • The GOP Convention delegates chant "endorse Trump" and Ted proves his word is not his bond. I guess "Lying Ted" was the truth after all.

(Indy Star)  -  Sen. Dan Coats issued a blistering rebuke Thursday of fellow Sen. Ted Cruz, who set off an unprecedented uproar at the Republican National Convention last night with his refusal to endorse Donald Trump.

“I think what people saw last night is what we have seen in the Senate. No matter how conservative you are, you never can meet Ted’s standard,” Coats told IndyStar. “He only thinks of himself, he doesn’t think about party. He’s a wrecking ball.”

But Coats, who is finishing his final term as Indiana’s senior senator, was only warming up.

“He’s the most self-centered, narcissistic, pathological liar I’ve ever seen — and you can quote me on that,” he said.

His comments came at a breakfast for the Indiana delegation to the convention and were part of a chorus of criticism from GOP officials.

Trump Nationalism Wins - Phony Open Borders "Conservatives" Defeated

The Coming Victory For Nationalism
Donald Trump in channeling Ike's appeal to the
average voter with right of center nationalism.

By Gary;

Victory at last. Republican voters have stood with Donald Trump Nationalism and against the phony open borders "Conservatism".

True Constitutional Conservatives have been angry for decades.  No matter how many so-called "Conservatives" we elected the borders stayed wide open, debt piled up, government grew and middle class jobs were shipped overseas.

Simply, what passes for "Conservatism" had its shot and failed.

Phony "Conservatism" is dead. Now it is time for Nationalism.

  • Jobs  -  I find it interesting that Conservatives crap their pants when Nationalist The Donald says out loud that he wants American citizens to have jobs that pay well.  In what Bizzaro universe are Conservatives living in? No wonder they were defeated.
  • Secure Borders  -  Nationalist Trump wants America to exist behind secure borders. His assorted "Conservative" opponents opposed the idea meaning they want the status quo - wide open borders.
  • Endless Wars  -  Nationalist Trump said, “Our goal is peace and prosperity, not war, unlike other candidates, war and aggression will not be my first instinct.”  Meanwhile the warmongers in both parties arm ISIS and other Islamist groups for endless warfare.

With Trump we are seeing a right-of-center every man Nationalist candidate much like Dwight Eisenhower.

Trump's appeal is nationalistic and cuts across party lines.  Let the battle begin.

And the problem with a landslide is???
k
"First of all, Donald Trump may turn out to be the most effective anti-left leader in our lifetime. He is against political correctness. He is against bureaucracy. He places American nationalism first which I think we desperately need. I’m tired of being told we have to phony agreements and phony efforts and I watch John Kerry rush from five-star hotel to five-star hotel trying to get a phony peace agreement that is an absurdity… I think Trump could be a return to a more of an Eisenhower kind of realism that none-the-less is conservatism. And he may do more to dismantle the left than anybody in our lifetime… The other side is, if you’re not for Donald Trump, you’re effectively for Hillary Clinton."

VIDEO: 1,400 workers lose their jobs to Mexico

"Free Trade" is Fucking
over American Citizens
And the open borders whores in the Democrat and Republican parties tell you not to vote for Donald Trump

(CNN)  -  Workers at the Carrier manufacturing plant in Indianapolis were caught on video booing and jeering after being told that the plant would be relocated to Monterey, Mexico.

A YouTube video showed Chris Nelson, the company's president, delivering the news on Wednesday. The plant employs roughly 1,400 people.  Nelson said it was "strictly a business decision" that was made in order to "stay competitive and protect the business for the long term."
At one point, the crowd became so boisterous that Nelson was forced to plead with the workers to get them to listen.  "I've got information that's important to share as part of the transition," Nelson can be heard saying.
The company's distribution center will also be relocated to Monterey, where Carrier has existing operations.
Some workers got up and left the meeting, while others shouted vulgar comments.

Sheriff Vows to “Disregard” any Obama Gun Registration Executive Orders

Never lick the boots of the Elites

  • In one last grasp for power expect Comrade Obama to sink his leftist fangs into the 2nd Amendment.

(Tenth Amendment Center)  -  Another sheriff has come out against unconstitutional federal gun control President Obama might decree, vowing to stymie enforcement through anti-commandeering.
This time, it’s Elkhart County Sheriff Brad Rogers in the state of Indiana, who declared on WNIT’s Politically Speaking that he will “disregard” any executive orders Obama makes that require firearm registration.
“If President Obama today said, ‘I’m creating an executive order that all sheriffs and police chiefs around this nation need to start registering firearms,’ I will disregard it,” he stated.
According to InfoWars.com, when “Rogers was questioned on how he can hold these unruly views and be reconciled with the oath he took for office. So, he repeated his oath, saying it is to defend the United States Constitution and the Indiana constitution to the best of his ability.”

However, it’s not just executive orders concerning firearm registration that Rogers has spoken out against; in 2013, he made similar statements on any possible gun confiscation.
Politically speaking, Rogers’ statements are in keeping with what James Madison advocated in response to unconstitutional federal laws or actions. He joins other sheriffs across the country like Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin who during the height of anti-gun hysteria in 2013 sent Vice President Joe Biden a letter threatening to not enforce federal gun control laws. Hanlin has been condemned by the Brady Campaign, which recently lost a lawsuit against the state of Kansas over its strict gun control nullification law.
While we should applaud such men like Rogers for their fidelity to the Constitution and the rule of law, it would be imprudent for us to simply hope that sheriffs will do the same, or that these types of men will always be in that particularly office, as we know from the past that other counties are not so lucky.
We cannot rely only on voluntary anti-commandeering efforts by a select few brave enough to take a stand. Only through Second Amendment Preservation Acts (SAPA) can we ensure that local law enforcement will definitely not aid the feds in enforcing unconstitutional gun control laws. This way, safeguards for our right to keep and bear arms will be permanently erected and remain in place even as those who hold office come and go.
Without the cooperation of the states, any federal gun control law crafted in D.C. will be delivered to the states dead on arrival.

Gays, Pizza and other insanity - GOP stupidity marches on

A Fear of Gays & Pizza
  • The "Conservative" GOP won't cut government spending or give us a flat income tax, but the party will throw around red meat anti-Gay rhetoric to their base disguised as religious freedom.

By Gary;

The insanity begins.

An Indiana pizza shop is saying they agree with GOP Governor Pence and the signing of the controversial Religious Freedom Restoration Act.

“If a gay couple came in and wanted us to provide pizzas for their wedding, we would have to say no,” says Crystal O'Connor of Memories Pizza.

The Leftist Republican Party will not meaningfully address their pro-big government spending policies or pro-Police State spying policies.  So to pretend to be different from the Democrats we see many Republicans beating the anti-Gay drum to motivate their base.

A GOP Pandora's Box

By standing up for what they call "religious freedom" the GOP is actually opening up a Pandora's Box of religious hate.

To keep a peaceful civil society, businesses that are open to the general public should serve all members of the public.  This is not rocket science.  It is also simply the polite thing to do.  Good manners.

What would happen if Jewish store owners refused to serve Muslims?  Or fundamentalist Christians refused to serve Mormons?  The list could go on forever.

The U.S. is made up of a massive numbers of faiths from Hindus to Eastern Orthodox Christians to Scientologists.  Government is not here to allow "the true faith" (whatever that is) to have their way in publically run businesses.  Government is here to keep society peaceful and operating.

Conservative Republicans need to get a grip and grow up.

Pagans in the U.S. Military
America has many faiths, and the members of those faiths should have the right to go into businesses open to the general public and purchase products and services.

Marriage can indeed be a religious ceremony.  But freedom of religion says it is not the business of Big Government to decide which is the "True Faith" and then write laws based on only the view of that religion to the exclusion of others.
.
America is made of a huge variety of faiths from Baptist to Judaism to Scientology to Buddhism.  Government must let each faith run their own affairs.  Government issued marriage licenses should only be to provide legal guidelines for secular issues like property rights and inheritance.

Indiana GOP - "Let's get the Gays"

The GOP "Big Tent"

  • The Indiana Republican legislature will allow business owners to discriminate against Gay customers in the name of religion.
  • But what happens when the 100,000 Muslims in Indiana refuse to serve "Infidel" customers, or fundamentalist Christians refuse to serve Mormons or . . . well you get the idea.  Businesses must be open to all members of the public or you create a nightmare of insane bigotry.

(AFP News)  -  Supporters of gay rights united in outrage Friday after the US state of Indiana adopted a law critics say would allow businesses to deny service to homosexuals on religious grounds.

Governor Mike Pence signed Senate Bill 101 on Thursday at a closed-door ceremony attended by Catholic nuns, orthodox Jews and socially conservative lobbyists.
GOP Gov. Mike Pence
Bigot or inbred?
"It is vitally important to protect religious freedom in Indiana," the Republican governor said in a statement.
"It was therefore important to pass Senate Bill 101 in 2015 in order to help protect churches, Christian businesses and individuals from those who want to punish them because of their Biblical beliefs!"
The law, which takes effect July 1, makes no mention of gays or lesbians, and Pence said that if it was discriminatory, he would not have signed it.
But activists say it effectively makes it legal for Indiana businesses whose owners reject homosexuality on religious grounds to turn away LGBT customers.
"They’ve basically said, as long as your religion tells you to, it's OK to discriminate against people," said Sarah Warbelow, legal director of the Human Rights Campaign, the nation's biggest gay rights group.
The Indiana chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) called the law a "backlash" response to a failed bid last year to put a gay marriage ban in the state's constitution.

Family Values - GOP considers baby drop-off boxes

Insert three quarters, pull handle and drop baby down shoot.

Disposable Children
  • Thank God the "pro-family" Indiana GOP is in charge of dropping infants down shoots into collection bins.  Imagine the horror if Democrats were running the program.
  • Am I the only one who thinks Western Civilization is turning into a steam pile of crap?

(BBC News)  -  Indiana could be the first US state to introduce baby boxes - anonymous drop-off points designed to prevent the deaths of abandoned infants.
Many states allow parents to hand over infants at public facilities, but the boxes have not been used in the US.
The boxes offer people who will not give up a child in person an alternative to abandonment or infanticide, proponents say.
But they have been criticised in Europe and Asia, where they are more common.
Elizabeth Throssell, a spokeswoman for United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child, urges countries to provide family planning and other support to address the root causes of abandonments, like poverty, instead.
Other concerns over baby boxes include the need for medical care provided at safe haven sites like hospitals or police stations. The involvement of a trained professional at the point of handover can also help assess whether the mother simply needs financial support or other help.
Republican politician Casey Cox, who authored the bill, says baby boxes are a natural progression of such laws. The Indiana House overwhelmingly passed the bill this week. It is now being considered by the state senate.
Supporters of the bill hope that about one hundred boxes could be deployed by July.

Bill would allow the dead to vote

Corruptus in Extremis

(The Indy Star)  -  Someone who casts an absentee ballot but dies before Election Day would still have their vote count under a proposal being considered by Indiana lawmakers.

The provision is part of a bill that the House Elections Committee took up Wednesday.

Rep. Matt Pierce of Bloomington told members about how disappointed he was when former U.S. Rep. Frank McCloskey's absentee vote that he cast while fighting cancer didn't count because he died before Election Day in 2004.

Pierce said that only some county clerks actively check for deaths of absentee voters.

Indiana Election Division co-director Brad King says allowing such votes could violate a state constitutional requirement that a voter live in a precinct for 30 days before an election.

The committee plans more review before acting on the proposal.

The Great Lakes - GOP Electoral College Target

GOP elected Governors in 2014 (red).

The Great Lakes
The Lakes States are ground zero for the GOP in 2016.

By Gary;

The Republican Party has more or less permanently lost the mega states of California (55 votes) and New York (29 votes) in the Presidential Electoral College.

Between those two states the GOP starts off in a hole with a huge block of 84 electoral college votes going to the Democrats.  In addition Virginia (13 votes) and Florida (29 votes) have been trending Democrat.

So where does the GOP look to for replacement votes?

The Great Lakes states.  Collectively as a block they have 75 electoral college votes to offer.  Votes that have gone Democrat more often than not.  For example, Michigan and Illinois have not voted Republican for President since 1988.

There is a possible voter shift happening that favors Republicans.

2014 saw the election of GOP Governors in Illinois (20 votes), Ohio (18), Michigan (16) and Wisconsin (10).  Indiana (11) already had a Republican Governor.  In addition, nearby Iowa (6 votes) also elected a GOP Governor and Senator.

To me an ideal 2016 ticket would be Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker (or John Kasich) and Florida Senator Marco Rubio.   Walker to target the Lakes States and Rubio for Florida and Hispanics.

Let the games begin.

Constitutional amendment group to meet in Indiana

In 2013 state representatives and senators from 32 states
attended the Mount Vernon Assembly.

We the People
  • State legislatures have worked to nullify the unconstitutional laws passed by the bi-partisan Washington D.C. funded Oligarchy Elites.
  • Now many legislators are looking for a new Constitutional Convention to restore power to the people.

Delegates from across the country will meet in Indianapolis to discuss the process for states to amend the U.S. Constitution without congressional approval.

The June 12-13 gathering of The Mount Vernon Assembly will focus on shaping the rules and procedures for a Convention of the States.

Indiana Senate President David Long tells The Times of Munster that the group won't propose any amendments this time reports ABC News, the Indy Channel.

Two-thirds of state legislatures must ask Congress to call a Convention of the States to propose amendments. The amendments can be added to the Constitution without congressional approval so long they are ratified by three-fourths of the states.

The process has never been used. Traditionally, two-thirds of Congress must propose an amendment and 38 states must ratify it before it can take effect.

From the 2013 meeting  -  Following the meeting, Arkansas State Senator Jason Rapert echoed Sen. Omdahl's sentiment. "Overall, it was historic, and I think it is a beacon for the rest of this nation to know the state legislators, of which there are 7,383 of us, are standing together to tell the 535 in Washington, ‘You are no longer doing your job.  You haven't passed a budget in a number of years. You allow the President to step outside of his executive authority and are not holding him accountable. You're drowning the nation in debt, and we want it to stop.'"

Also see The Mount Vernon Assembly.

And the 2013 meeting of Mt. Vernon.

Fed up with an overreaching federal government that overspends, over-regulates, and overtaxes, nearly one hundred state legislators from 32 states met in 2013 at Washington’s home in Mount Vernon, Virginia, to discuss an Article V convention of the states for the purpose of proposing amendments to the Constitution.

The 2014 convention is coming.

DHS Agent - "Tell me about your sex life."

Dr. Christine Von Der Haar, Indiana University

"Are you having sex?"
  • Big Brother DHS agents hold woman against her will in a locked airport room under guard while interrogating her about her sex life.

Indianapolis  –  A woman who was detained without cause at Indianapolis International Airport has filed suit saying federal officials violated her constitutional rights.

The case was brought by the American Civil Liberties Union of Indiana on behalf of Christine Von Der Haar, a senior lecturer in the Department of Sociology at Indiana University. In June of 2012, Von Der Haar accompanied a friend to the airport’s office of Customs and Border Protection to pick up computer equipment he had shipped separately when he flew to Indianapolis a few days earlier reports the ACLU.

The customs agent, after asking the couple if they were planning to marry, questioned them separately about email communications and the nature of their relationship, and confined Dr. Von Der Haar in a guarded room for more than 20 minutes.

The Fourth Amendment to the U.S. Constitution protects against unreasonable searches and seizures.

"This case raises troubling issues about the power of the government to detain and question citizens," said ACLU of Indiana Legal Director Kenneth Falk, who represents Von Der Haar.

The lawsuit, Christine Von Der Haar v. Sherlana Lieba, Mr. Combsaclu, Cause No. No. 1:14-cv-247, was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Indiana on Feb. 19, 2014.

The sociology professor traveled to the airport merely to help her friend pick up some computer parts that had been shipped separately. Greek national Dimitris Papatheodoropoulos had already arrived in the country under a valid business visa which allowed him to enter and leave the United States for a period of 10 years.

Both Von Der Haar and Papatheodoropoulos were detained by DHS officers and bombarded with questions about their private lives, including whether they had shared sexual relations, with feds alleging that the two secretly conspired so that Papatheodoropoulos could stay in the country illegally.

“Given that Mr. Papatheodoropoulos had retained his hard drive that contained the emails, the only way that the Customs and Border Protection Agents could have reviewed the emails is for someone to have surreptitiously monitored the communications between Dr. Von Der Haar and Mr. Papatheodoropoulos and reported those communications to the agents questioning her,” states the lawsuit. “Defendant Lieba admitted that employees of the United States had read email communications between Dr. Von Der Haar and Mr. Papatheodoropoulos.”

Customs and Border Protection seized Papatheodoropoulos’ passport and commenced proceedings to remove him from the country, claiming he had misrepresented his intentions. After Papatheodoropoulos consulted with lawyers and the Greek Consulate in Chicago, the proceedings were halted and his passport was returned. Papatheodoropoulos left the country of his own volition in August 2012.

“CBP officers grossly exceeded their jurisdiction. Dr. Dr. Von Der Haar’s US citizenship was never questioned; she wasn’t trying to enter, leave, or ship and goods in or out of the country; and she was never accused of any crime. In general, immigration (as distinct from customs) offenses are handled by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Border Patrol, not CBP. We’re curious what basis CBP will claim for its officers’ authority to detain and interrogate Dr. Dr. Von Der Haar or obtain her email,” asks Papers Please.

Either the DHS is obtaining Americans’ emails via their own undeclared (and illegal) snoop program, or they are being aided by the National Security Agency or some other government entity.

Christine Von Der Haar received her Ph.D. from Indiana University in 1985. She also holds masters degrees in journalism and secondary education. Her primary interests include social psychology, media and society, and public opinion. Chris taught her first social psychology class over 25 years ago. And, her book Social Psychology: A Sociological Perspective was published by Prentice Hall in 2005.

Chris also teaches classes on media and society. Her interest in this topic took root at CBS News where she served as the Manager of Surveys for the CBS/New York Times poll. In this position, Chris worked with reporters and producers covering political campaigns and elections. This experience allowed her to observe how two major media organizations operate on a daily basis. It also provided remarkable insight into how the media cover elections and wars.

Chris teaches a variety of sociology classes that allow her to follow her students from their freshman to senior years in college. She considers teaching undergraduate students one of her greatest rewards in life. And, she takes great pleasure in classes that allow students to express their opinions and develop their critical thinking skills. She was honored to receive the Trustees Teaching Award in 2004.
