The Walking Dead Returns With 12 Million Viewers

A Bit Weaker
But Still The Best Show on TV

By Gary;

I for one never liked zombie films. Give me a good old fashioned neck biting vampire flick any day of the week is my motto.

But here I am with millions of others deep into Season 7 and still drooling over The Walking Dead.  Who would have thought it?

The Dead's mid-season return pulled in a strong 12 million viewers.  Other shows would sell their mothers for half of those ratings.

Still even a rabid fan like myself has seen the show slowly getting weaker.

There is a good reason for that. One, with any long running program plots start to repeat themselves. But #2,  the Dead show is brutal on the actors . . . they keep getting eaten.

There are only five characters left from Season One:

We fans love our favorite characters and Seasons 1 to 3 of the Dead had some unbelievable talent on the screen backed by classic plots. But the Dead being what it is, we have seen characters fall left and right. Many of the newer characters lack the screen presence of the early actors.

Last week I blasted through all of Season 2 up to the herd of Walkers overrunning the farm. I am still in awe of the plot and acting quality.  Quality that has faded in the last three seasons.

The good news is the arrival of Negan in the form of the great Jeffrey Dean Morgan.   The Walking Dead has been savage and bloody, but Negan is one brutal son of a bitch.

Negan has saved the series to fight on another day.
