SHOCK: Los Angeles to arrest business owners

Big Government makes it illegal to sell your own property.

Socialism:  L.A. to use drug gang style injunctions to prevent free people from buying and selling Dodger tickets
  • Six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine for daring to conduct business.
  • Street ticket sellers are not allowed to have a business license.
  • It is legal for big well connected corporations sell tickets, but the small businessman on the street will be sent to prison.

The increasingly Socialist People's Republic of California is the gift that just keeps giving.

For years, prosecutors have used court injunctions to prevent gang members, drug dealers and even graffiti vandals from congregating in certain areas.  But now, the Democrat run L.A. city attorney's office wants to use the powerful legal tool on a decidedly different target: ticket scalpers, better known as small businessmen.
.
Leftist Democrat City Attorney Carmen Trutanich filed court papers asking a judge to bar 17 prolific ticket sellers from being anywhere near Dodger Stadium, Staples Center, the Nokia Theatre, the Coliseum and USC's Galen Center.

The moron statist Trutanich said the unusual injunction reflects how difficult it has been for law enforcement to clamp down on scalpers reports the Los Angeles Times.

It is already a misdemeanor to sell tickets above "face value" or make such transactions on a public street.  A street ticket vendor is not even allowed to have a business license in Socialist L.A.

But a street vendor who sells hot dogs is allowed to get a business license and to increase his price over what he paid for his product.  That is called business.  Free enterprise.

Police have tried aggressive enforcement during games to prevent free enterprise from taking place in what used to be a free nation.

The injunction puzzled some legal experts, who said restricting where people can be is a serious move that is commonly reserved for violent criminals.
.
Criminalizing Business:   "The problem here is they are trying to criminalize activities that would not otherwise be deemed harmful to people," said USC law professor Jody Armour. "These people aren't committing violent crimes.... How can it be in the public's interest to make it harder for them to find tickets?"

Armour and others said that the biggest beneficiaries of the injunction are likely to be the sports and entertainment venues themselves, who have long complained about scalpers. Indeed, both USC and AEG, the owners of Staples Center, filed court declarations in support of Trutanich's injunction.

If a judge approves the injunction, the defendants would face six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine for each violation of it.      (Los Angeles Times)

Free Enterprise only for a select few.
Moronic Socialist Big Government says a street hot dog vendor is allowed to have a business license, mark up his product and offer his services to the public.  But that same idiotic government will not allow a street ticket seller to have a business license, mark up his product and offer his services to the public.

Leftists love to spend your money, but they do everything possible
to prevent you from making it.
