(Infowars)  A new proposal from Michigan Republicans is drawing alarm over its intent to criminalize vast portions of online speech, ban common privacy tools, and restrict depictions of transgender individuals in almost all public-facing content.

House Bill 4938, titled the “Anticorruption of Public Morals Act,” was introduced on September 11 and has been sent to the House Judiciary Committee for review.

Filed by Rep. Josh Schriver of Oxford and co-sponsored by five other Republican lawmakers, the bill lays out one of the most expansive attempts at state-level internet censorship in the country.

It demands that internet providers and platforms adopt round-the-clock surveillance systems, block the sale and use of VPNs, and prohibit a wide range of content that includes erotic AI material, sensual ASMR audio, pornographic manga, and anything representing transgenderism.

 

He framed the bill as necessary to protect children and claimed that current obscenity laws are outdated and rarely enforced.

The bill’s language defines “prohibited material” in broad terms. It covers depictions of sexual acts whether real or fictional, written or visual, and includes specific bans on “moaning or sensual voice content” as well as “erotic autonomous sensory meridian response content.”

It also criminalizes any portrayal of a transgender individual unless the context is strictly medical, instructional, or academic and peer-reviewed.

Under the bill, an individual or organization that distributes such material to anyone in the state could face up to 20 years in prison and a $100,000 fine. That increases to 25 years and $125,000 if over 100 instances of prohibited material are involved.

The legislation also demands that all websites, platforms, and ISPs operating in Michigan implement 24/7 automated surveillance and censorship systems to detect and remove flagged content immediately.

Companies would be forced to revise their terms of service to explicitly ban the covered content and comply with real-time enforcement protocols.

One of the most invasive aspects of the bill is its attack on VPN usage.

House Bill 4938 would make it illegal to sell or use virtual private networks within Michigan and would require internet providers to block any VPN activity. 

Fines for violations related to VPN use could reach $500,000.

VPNs are commonly used to secure online activity, prevent data collection, and protect users on public Wi-Fi. Criminalizing this technology would have widespread consequences for both individuals and businesses..

Schriver publicly stated, “Don’t make it, don’t share it, don’t view it,” and called for porn distributors to be added to the sex offender registry.

Over 26K GOP Votes "Found" Days After The Election

On Friday, the state of Michigan, which arguably has the most untrustworthy Secretary of State in America, added 26,662 unreported votes to its unofficial vote total from four counties after canvassers reportedly discovered the stunning discrepancies.

Kent County, formerly a red county, discovered a whopping 13,795 unreported votes. Kalamazoo County, home to Western MI University and Kalamazoo College, discovered 6,691 previously unreported votes. Calhoun County blamed their discovery of 4,602 votes on a “software glitch.” When northern Michigan’s Leelanau County’s results were first revealed, it looked like Democrats had won almost every race, which would solidify the belief that Democrats were able to turn the popular vacation community solidly blue. But not so fast—days after the Nov. 5 election, 1,574 unreported votes were discovered that had not added to the original count, flipping almost every race thought to have been won by a Democrat to a Republican candidate.

In Leelanau County, several key races, like the three Leelanau County board of commissioners spots, showed Democrats sweeping Republicans at the polls. The important local drain commissioner, which previously showed the Democrat winning by a landslide, was flipped to give the Republican candidate a resounding victory.

We spoke with the newly elected drain commissioner, Tim O’Non, whose race flipped from Democrat Faith Hoekstra to Republican. Although Leelanau County claims they discovered 1,574 unreported votes, Timothy O’Non somehow picked up 1,736 new votes for a total of 8,736 votes over his Democratic opponent Faith Hoekstra, whose vote count currently sits at 8,093.

On Friday, Tim O’Non spoke with the Leelanau County Clerk, Michelle Crocker, who informed him that instead of losing his race, he was now winning by a small margin. Tim’s wife, Republican Trustee candidate Kerry O’Non, has now also been declared the winner of her race by ten votes, with 452 votes being awarded to Republican Jolyn Arins, whose new vote total is 458.

Michelle Crocker, the Leelanau County Clerk for decades, told Mr. O’Non that the tabulator had a “software glitch” and that the votes that would typically be uploaded into the final count didn’t happen. “She didn’t see any issues with their procedures,” Tim O’Non told us, adding that he respects the county clerk who has served for three decades.

SURING, Wis. (WBAY/Gray News) – The Oconto County district attorney charged the superintendent of the Suring school district with six counts of false imprisonment.

The charges stem from the January search of six students who were asked to strip down to their underwear to be searched for vape cartridges, WBAY reported.

District Attorney Edward Burke Jr. said Superintendent Kelly Casper directed the children into a small bathroom off the nurse’s office. Burke said Casper told the children to remove their clothing, and she stood in the doorway.

“Once the children removed their clothing, any opportunity they had to escape would have subjected them to further shame and embarrassment,” Burke wrote in a news release announcing the charges Monday.

FASCISM - 93 Days in Jail For Opening a Business

(Newswars)  Demonstrators in Michigan rallied over the weekend to support a local restaurant owner who was jailed for defying lockdown orders and keeping her business open.

Marlena Pavlos-Hackney, owner of Marlena’s Bistro and Pizzeria in Holland, was arrested Friday after failing to comply with a judge’s orders to shut her doors until further notice.

 

On Saturday, hundreds of unmasked American-flag waving protesters arrived from across the state to rally outside the business in a show of support for Pavlos-Hackney, and as a reminder to local and state officials that lockdowns are immensely unpopular.

“I think it’s one of the most important things we can do as freedom-loving Americans,” one demonstrator from Grand Rapids told WoodTV.com. “We can show our voice in support of a woman who absolutely deserves better than what she’s getting.”

“To me, it’s about corrupt courts, corrupt judges and government overreach,” another protester stated, adding, “They’re using it as an excuse to go after a vulnerable person. She was a woman… They went after her because it was easy.”

 

On March 4, Ingraham County Judge Rosemarie Aquilina issued a bench warrant for Pavlos-Hackney, who rather than turn herself in continued to operate her business, despite her food license already being suspended.

Following her arrest Friday, Judge Aquilina told her she’d stay in jail until she proved she’d closed her restaurant, which protesters on Saturday boarded up and put caution tape around in efforts to get her released.

 

“Should the restaurant open up again, there will be another bench warrant issued immediately, another pickup order, 93 days (in jail) and $7,500 (in fines),” Aquilina told Pavlos-Hackney Friday. “I don’t know how long you want to do this, ma’am, but we can keep doing it all year long. You must abide by the law.”

Meanwhile, a lawyer for Pavlos-Hackney said he hoped to get her released by Monday.

Pavlos-Hackney has maintained health officials shouldn’t have a say in how she operates her business.

“We don’t want this country to be a communist regime that’s going to dictate what we can do and what we cannot do,” Pavlos-Hackney argues, adding it’s her constitutional right to operate her business free from government interference.

(National File)  -  Democrat officials in Michigan ordered the entire floor to rise to their feet and remain standing for a “black national anthem” during Monday’s ceremony to confirm the votes of sixteen Democrat electors for Democrat presidential and vice-presidential hopefuls Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.

Attendees were ordered to “please remain standing for the National Anthem and the “black national anthem” by the Turner Sisters, Jeliah and Jemilah Turner.”

The official proceedings were then halted for a melancholy rendition of “Lift Every Voice and Sing,” which was declared to be the “Negro National Anthem” by the National Association of Colored People in 1919. 

The United States government does officially recognize any “black national anthem,” as the only federally recognized national anthem is “The Star-Spangled Banner.”

It remains unclear what would have transpired if attendees had not dutifully risen for the “black national anthem,” as all present Democrat electors sprang to their feet for the song.

(WND)  -  Calling on "soldiers" of the left to "make them pay," a Democratic state lawmaker delivered a threat to supporters of President Trump on Facebook Live.

Michigan state Rep. Cynthia Johnson prefaced her warning Tuesday with a wish that "I could be talking to y'all in a private room ... but we're public."

"So this is just a warning to you Trumpers. Be careful, walk lightly, we ain't playing with you. Enough of the shenanigans. Enough is enough," she said, emphasizing every word.

"And for those of you who are soldiers, you know how to do it. Do it right, be in order, make them pay."

She concluded: "I love you all. Bye bye."

On Wednesday, Michigan House Speaker Lee Chatfield announced Johnson had been stripped of her committee assignments in response to her threats.

"Threats to Democrats or Republicans are unacceptable and un-American. They’re even more unbecoming of an elected official," Chatfield said in a statement. "Rep. CA Johnson has been stripped of her committees and we're looking into further disciplinary action as the proper authorities conduct their investigations."

(WND)  -  An IT worker trained and contracted by Dominion Voting Systems who worked at the tabulating center in Detroit on Nov. 3 claimed Tuesday she saw election workers illegally rescanning batches of 50 ballots for Joe Biden over and over to create more votes.

Melissa Carone, who spoke to the Michigan Senate Oversight Committee at a hearing Tuesday in Lansing, Michigan, said she was at the TCF Center for a total of 27 hours, beginning the morning of Election Day.

"What I witnessed at the TCF Center was simply fraud the whole 27 hours I was there," she said. "There were batches of ballots being run through the tabulating machines numerous times, being counted eight to 10 times.

"I watched this with my own eyes," Carone said.

She said that the election official in charge of counting the mail-in ballots, Daniel Baxter, and at least 90% of the workers were "in on the whole thing."

"There was not a single ballot the whole night, the whole 27 hours I was there, that I saw, that was for Donald Trump," she said. "Not one. Not a single ballot."

(WND)  -  As swing state Michigan approaches an election in which it could play a pivotal role,  new data from its Aug. 4 primary reveals that in 72 percent of Detroit's election precincts, recorded ballot counts for absentee voters did not match the number of ballots actually cast.

"The people of Michigan deserve to know that their elections are being conducted fairly and competently, but today's news shows that Wayne County and the City of Detroit can't conduct an election to even the most basic of standards," Laura Cox, chairwoman of the Michigan Republican Party, said Thursday, according to the Detroit News.

Monica Palmer, a Republican member of the Board of Canvassers in Wayne County, which includes Detroit, said the mess involving the ballots was too tangled to ever unsnarl.

"It was so inaccurate that we can't even attempt to make it right," said Palmer, chairwoman of the board, according to the Detroit News.

“Based on the inaccuracies that we saw during the canvass, something has to happen. We can’t go into November with what occurred during the primary,” she said, according to WDIV-TV.

Cops jail anyone SUSPECTED of being sick with coronavirus

(WND)  -  A Michigan judge has issued an order authorizing a county health officer and police to arrest and jail anyone they suspect of being sick with the coronavirus.

The order includes a blank line for the names of anyone arrested to be filled out later, said the Great Lakes Justice Center, which called the order unconstitutional.

Judge Mark Trusock of the 17th Circuit Court issued the order in response to a request by Kent County Health Officer Adam London.

The judge ruled that any "carrier and health threat" presented with a copy of his order "may be involuntarily detained by a peace officer, transported to and detained in an Involuntary Isolation Facility selected by the Health Officer for observation, testing, and/or treatment."

The judge further allows London to "instruct the Involuntary Isolation Facility to detain an individual until the CHT has been confirmed by a physician and the health officer to be without a fever of 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit for at least 72 consecutive hours (without use of fever reducing medication) and/or is otherwise non-symptomatic and meets the CDC criteria for release from isolation."

The judge wrote that the "facility" where people are jailed and "all peace officers" can rely on a copy of his order to detain anyone "at the instruction of the health officer."

But GLJC insisted the order violates the U.S. and Michigan constitutions.

"General warrants are unconstitutional," the organization explained. "Warrants to arrest or detain people cannot be issued against an entire class of persons or against everyone in a single county. Warrants must be specific and may only be issued against a particular person for a particular reason."

It quoted from the U.S. Constitution, where the Fourth Amendment states, "No warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, suoported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the person or things to be seized."

"The state cannot give the police and health authorities unrestricted power to arrest and force testing and treatment of a person or deprive them of their liberty without due process," GLJC said.

"Judge Trusock's order violates the constitutional rights of all persons in Kent County. The order is unconstitutional because it gives blanket authority to officials to arrest/detain any person without any court hearing or without any evidence establishing probable cause to support the detention."

(WND)  -  Michigan Democratic Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's order closing public school buildings also bans homeschooling, which is unconstitutional, contends a legal non-profit in the state.

"The Great Lakes Justice Center calls upon Gov. Whitmer to correct this unconstitutional action and assure parents in Michigan that they may continue to safely home school their own children while the EO is in effect," the organization said in a statement Thursday.

The April 2 order states "in-person instruction for pupils in kindergarten through grade 12 … is suspended for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year."

It applies to all "non-public ... schools in the state."

"The governor clearly has the authority to close school buildings," the legal team acknowledged. However, "Michigan law defines home schools as nonpublic schools."

That means the executive order bars parents from directly teaching their children at home, the organization argued.

Great Lakes Justice spokesman David Kallman said: "The governor has no authority to direct nonpublic schools (i.e., private schools and home schools) to operate their educational programs and processes in any particular way. Further, parents have a fundamental constitutional right to raise and educate their children."

Constitution assigns leadership of public education to the State Board of Education, not the governor.

"Gov. Whitmer's EO usurps the authority of the State Board of Education over public schools," the organization said. "The governor overstepped her authority by ordering public schools to operate in a certain manner, to mandate educational credit, etc.

City bans criticism of Islam

Officials banned anyone from saying anything negative about mega-mosque in residential neighborhood

(WND)  -  The Supreme Court is being asked to strike down special privileges the city of Sterling Heights, Michigan, created for a giant mosque that Muslims want to build in a residential neighborhood.

It would be tens of thousands of square feet and nearly six stories tall.

The American Freedom Law Center has filed a petition to the high court asking for review.

The case began when city officials bent their own rules to approve a mega-mosque proposed by Muslims. The residents of the surrounding neighborhood include many Chaldean Christians who escaped persecution from Muslims in their home country Iraq.

Seven residents sued, but lower courts sided with the mosque builders.

The Iraq Chaldean community originates from groups of adherents of the Church of the East in about 1552. In Southeast Michigan there is a Chaldean community numbering 113,000 people.

The civil-rights case against the city and its mayor contends the American Islamic Community Center proposed the mosque to "plant the flag" in a community of Christians who fled Iraq because they or family members were subjected to violence and abuse from ISIS.

The city initially rejected a proposal for a mosque in the residential neighborhood. Muslims then sued and the city complied with their demand to ignore local ordinances and regulations and permit the mosque through a consent agreement.

The civil-rights suit by residents followed.

AFLC said the decision to enter into the consent judgment was made during a city council meeting held in February 2017.

"During this public meeting," AFLC said, "the mayor enforced a content- and viewpoint-based speech restriction that prohibited private citizens, including our clients, from making any comments that the mayor deemed critical of Islam, in direct violation of the First Amendment!"

WND reported in 2017 a spokeswoman, Nahren Anweya, expressed the view of the Chaldean and Assyrian Christians in Sterling Heights.

"The mayor and the corrupted personal interests behind him have outraged a community which is comprised of the largest minority Assyrian/Chaldean Christians from Iraq," Anweya said. "This minority group consists of more than four generations of refugees and genocide victims under radical Islam."

Some student senators at Grand Valley State argued the pledge is non-inclusive, represents oppression

The Student Senate at Grand Valley State University has voted to stop reciting the Pledge of Allegiance at its meetings, with some arguing it’s non-inclusive and represents an oppressive government.

Last week’s vote was 22 in favor, 10 opposed, with 10 abstentions, said Dorian Thompson, a student senator, in a telephone interview Saturday with The College Fix.

“The arguments to remove it were to create an inclusive environment, that it represented an oppressive government, and that there are international students that we should be representing,” Thompson told The Fix.

This is the second student government this fall semester to nix the Pledge of Allegiance from its agenda. The University of Oklahoma student government also voted in September to scrap the pledge from its meetings.

Grand Valley State’s Thompson, a senior and political science major at the Michigan-based public university, said he prompted the public vote on the issue because Student Senate committee chairs and vice chairs had “secretly” decided to remove the pledge prior to the start of the fall semester.

Dearborn Public Schools bragged about overhauling its public school menus to make them ‘more diverse’ and by ‘more diverse’ they mean Sharia compliant.

Dearborn Public Schools is overhauling its school menu this year! Students are in for a more diverse menu, more options every day, more fresh produce, and more made-from-scratch meals.

Parents will see menus that are easier to find and understand – right down to being able to look up possible allergens and even carb counts online for every dish.

The changes come after the district hired Southwest Foodservice Excellence (SFE) to help oversee the food service program. The company has provided nutritionists and chefs to help transition the district to a program with a much more expansive and fresh from scratch menu, including training the District staff on how to cook these meals.

In addition, SFE will help improve food service operational, procurement and financial tracking systems and reinforce nutritional and safety protocols. SFE works in 150 school districts around the country offering several employee management models. In Dearborn, District employees will continue to run and staff our kitchens, working in close partnership with SFE.

Students will see dramatic differences in this year’s menu, staring with more made from scratch meals, promised Joshua Bain, SFE senior general manager of food service.

“The district has been doing a lot of heat-and-eat because it was easy,” Bain said. Now, everything will be handmade, down to the sandwiches.

“We will actually spread peanut butter on bread,” Bain assured. More than 75 percent of SFE’s offerings are fresh-from-scratch.

The first short week of school shows the changes. Students will be offered orange chicken with rice, Thai veggie stir fry, and beef tacos. Elementary schools will offer at least three entrée items each day, middle schools four to six, and high schools six to eight. In previous years, elementary schools offered only one other option, the same vegetarian second choice for the entire week.

All the meat served in Dearborn will now be halal. Before some schools offered all halal, while other had a mix, which contributed to confusion about which menu was being served at which school.

Robert Spencer of Jihad Watch said there are many reasons why people don’t want halal meat, such as for humanitarian reasons or because Halal certification organizations fund terrorism.

There may be any number of reasons why people don’t want halal meat. They may object to halal slaughter for humanitarian reasons. They may consider it to be meat sacrificed to idols, as discussed in the New Testament. They may object to the fact that many halal certification organizations have links to jihad terror groups. But we are not allowed to have any such concerns, either in the U.S. or in Australia.
