Humans? Terminators? or Both?
By Gary;
AMC's Humans is an eight episode British-American summer replacement series that has the potential to go big.
After only one show there is no way to know about the characters and plot directions, but building synthetic humans for purchase is already in the headlines.
Robots are everywhere in one form or another. Add in the the rapid growth in artificial intelligence and you get the rise of military Terminators and robot slave labor that is putting humans permanently standing in the unemployment line.
Personal relationships between synthetic humans and their owners starts off the AMC series. Emotions of fear, friendship and dependency are there. But will there be violence? British TV is not noted for action.
Blood spurting zombie action on The Walking Dead is 100% pure American. Filmed in Georgia, Dead would often feature British actors using American accents. The Brits push a far more boring style of TV.
The logical I Robot step in the series is robot revolution. Time will tell if the British based series has the will or the budget to go down that road.

"Tyrell really did a job on Rachael. Right down to a snapshot of a mother she never had... a daughter she never was. Replicants weren't supposed to have feelings... neither were blade runners. What the hell was happening to me? Leon's pictures had to be as phony as Rachael's. I didn't know why a Replicant would collect photos. Maybe they were like Rachael... they needed memories." Blade Runner . The classic Blade Runner addressed a futuristic society where synthetic humans were kept as slave labor. |

Every year scientists and engineers are making advances in miniaturize sensors but there's one aspect of this phenomenon to which a lot of enlighten people have given a good bit of thought. Is having sex with an ultra-realistic robot hooker cheating?
For my own part, yes and no. Do I look at that old robot on 'Lost In Space' waving its tentacular arms around and get all hot and bothered? No. Not hardly. Now when I look at Jeri Ryan playing the infamous borg, Seven-of-Nine on Star Trek Voyager? You better believe it! Just don't tell my wife!

Robot hookers were in the show. So your wet-dream comes true. Hopefully they will "Terminate" their Johns in future episodes.
