Wonder Woman

A Wonder of a Woman

By Gary;

I have been so busy opening up a new business that I forgot to do my review of Wonder Woman, and with politics driving me crazy here we go for something different.

Needless to say this movie is light years beyond the crappy 1970s TV show.

The big drawback to the movie is Zack Snyder was not the director, only the producer and writer.

Zack has done wonderful work bringing characters alive in films like Watchmen, 300 and Man of Steel.  I believe his missing magic touch kept Wonder Woman from soaring to the level of a film like Iron Man.

That being said, the movie did soar. Beautiful special effects, a fairly good plot and Gal Godot as an excellent Wonder Woman.

The long opening origin segment ate up a lot of screen time but was very well done.  The "fish out of water" portion of Diana in London was OK, but that theme was far better done in Thor.

But the best part of the movie was Diana facing down Ares, the God of War.  A superhero must always face a super villain. Superman vs bank robbers story lines were always a joke.

All in all a very entertaining outing well worth the price of admission.

Zack Snyder will get his chance to direct Wonder Woman in this November's Justice League movie.  And yes I will be there on opening day

Rated - 8 out of 10
