NEWS AND VIEWS THAT IMPACT LIMITED CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT

I enjoy almost all forms of music. Ruth Etting takes us back to the era of the Roaring Twenties as well as the Great Depression. If you have not heard Ruth before then click and enjoy.
Ruth Etting (1896 – 1978) was an singing star and actress of the 1920s and 1930s, who had over 60 hit recordings and worked in stage, radio, and film.
Etting was signed to Columbia Records in February 1926.
She is known as "America's sweetheart of song". Her signature tunes were "Shine On, Harvest Moon", "Ten Cents a Dance" and "Love Me or Leave Me". Her other popular recordings included "Button Up Your Overcoat", "Mean to Me", "Exactly Like You" and "Shaking the Blues Away".
In 1937 she retired from recording. She moved to an eight acre farm outside of Colorado Springs in 1938. Etting died in Colorado Springs in 1978, aged 81.
With so many Islamic authorities condemning the Islamic State, albeit in vague and non-specific terms, it is noteworthy that it has received so much help from elements in Turkey and Saudi Arabia.
There are obviously many people in both countries who believe that what the Islamic State is doing is perfectly Islamic, and to be encouraged.
“ISIS Fighter Claims Turkey Funds the Jihadist Group,” by Mary Chastain, Breitbart, July 30, 2014:
Turkey Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his AK Party have a well developed reputation for anti-Semitism and anti-Israel policies generally. But now ties to the Islamic State, formerly known as ISIS, are emerging. The Jerusalem Post reported one Islamic State member said Turkey, a member of NATO, provided funds for the terrorist group.
.
“Turkey paved the way for us. Had Turkey not shown such understanding for us, the Islamic State would not be in its current place. It [Turkey] showed us affection. Large [numbers] of our mujahedeen received medical treatment in Turkey,” said the man, who was not identified.
“We do not have the support of Saudi Arabia, but many Saudi families who believe in jihad do assist us. But anyhow, we will no longer need it, soon,” he said.
“We will build the Islamic state in the territories from Tigris to Jordan and Palestine and to Lebanon. Sunni Law will rule,” he continued.
“We will build the Islamic state in the territories from Tigris to Jordan and Palestine and to Lebanon. Sunni Law will rule,” he continued.
The terrorists took over Azaz, a key town in Syria near the border of Turkey in September 2013. That is significant because Turkey “vocally supported the fight against forces loyal to President Bashar al-Assad and allowed weapons to cross into Syria on its southern border.”
The capture of Azaz allowed easier access to the jihadists. Two months later, CNN featured Turkey’s secret jihadi route to Syria.
Now, ISIS is speaking with Turkey businesses and asking them to return to Iraq.
“Turkish companies have signed major contracts in Iraq, promising to keep their shelves stocked,” said Turkey’s Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci. “Our exports to Iraq are now down to 35%, but Iraq cannot easily substitute other sources. We think there will be a boom in demand soon. We also know that IS is contacting individual Turkish businessmen and telling them, ‘Come back, we won’t interfere.’ That is not easy, of course. But when in the future Iraq is rebuilt, it will be Turkey doing it.”…
Even Humvees are "misplaced" by police departments.
(Fusion News) - Haunting images of local police officials using military-issued equipment to quell protests in Ferguson, Missouri, have raised new concerns about the Pentagon's controversial program to equip local and state police departments with military surplus weaponry.
The program, now under White House review, has been plagued by messy bookkeeping, bureaucratic confusion and scores of missing weapons. Fusion has learned that 184 state and local police departments have been suspended from the Pentagon's "1033 program" for missing weapons or failure to comply with other guidelines. .
We uncovered a pattern of missing M14 and M16 assault rifles across the country, as well as instances of missing .45-caliber pistols, shotguns and 2 cases of missing Humvee vehicles. "[The program] is obviously very sloppy, and it's another reason that Congress needs to revisit this promptly," said Tim Lynch, director of the CATO Institute's project on criminal justice. "We don't know where these weapons are going, whether they are really lost, or whether there is corruption involved." "
More troubling yet is the possibility that some of the missing weapons, which were given to local police departments as part of a decades' old government program to equip cops for the wars on terrorism and drugs, are actually being sold on the black market, Lynch said. "That uncertainty is very unsettling," he told Fusion. .
Since the program began in 1990, more than $4.3 billion in equipment and weapons has been transferred to more than 8,000 participating police departments, according to the Pentagon.
It's a miracle from God, delivered directly to the gullible American Sheeple.
Out in the thousands of square miles of the deserts of the Middle East an Islamic rebel group armed by the CIA, Turkey and Saudi Arabia just happens to find an ISIS laptop filled with "secret" information.
"We took it this year from an ISIS hideout," says Abu Ali, a commander of a CIA backed Syrian rebel group.
Buried in the laptop were "hidden files" with 146 gigabytes of material, containing a total of 35,347 files in 2,367 folders.
The "ISIS" laptop supposedly contains a 19-page document in Arabic on how to develop biological weapons and how to weaponize the bubonic plague from infected animals.
"The advantage of biological weapons is that they do not cost a lot of money, while the human casualties can be huge," the document states.
The "document" includes instructions for how to test the weaponized disease safely, before it is used in a terrorist attack."When the microbe is injected in small mice, the symptoms of the disease should start to appear within 24 hours," the document claims to say.
The laptop also includes a 26-page fatwa, or Islamic ruling, on the usage of weapons of mass destruction. "If Muslims cannot defeat the kafir [unbelievers] in a different way, it is permissible to use weapons of mass destruction," states the fatwa by Saudi jihadi cleric Nasir al-Fahd, who is currently imprisoned in Saudi Arabia. "Even if it kills all of them and wipes them and their descendants off the face of the Earth."
I have no doubt that insane Islamists around the world are more than happy to use bio weapons. But isn't it interesting that this laptop magically appears only days after the beheading of an American reporter.
The bipartisan liar political hacks can now point to this laptop as the "proof" needed to go to war.
And the American Sheeple baaa, "Go to war and save us all."
The U.S. Department of Education (USED) has punished the state of Oklahoma for repealing the Common Core standards and reverting to its previous academic standards by rescinding the state’s waiver from No Child Left Behind (NCLB), making it the second state ever to lose its waiver from the law.
As Caitlin Emma of Politico reports, Indiana, on the contrary, was granted a one-year extension of its waiver from NCLB because, though Gov. Mike Pence (R) declared he was the first governor to repeal the Common Core standards, his state’s replacement standards are remarkably similar to the Common Core and, as such, still met the requirements for the waiver reports Breitbart News.
The fact that Oklahoma’s waiver was denied while Indiana was granted an extension makes it clear that, despite the protests of Common Core supporters that the standards are “voluntary” and “state-led,” the federal government is, in fact, determining which states will receive reprieves from federal restrictions based on their choices of academic standards.
States that adopted “college- and career-ready standards” in math and English Language Arts that are “common to a significant number of states” or “certified by a state network of institutions of higher education” avoided NCLB requirements, which include providing school choice, tutoring, and reconfiguring failing schools.
Most states simply adopted the Common Core to obtain the waivers, inviting even further federal intrusion into their education policies.
“It is outrageous that President [Barack] Obama and Washington bureaucrats are trying to dictate how Oklahoma schools spend education dollars,” Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin (R) said in a statement. “Because of overwhelming opposition from Oklahoma parents and voters to Common Core, Washington is now acting to punish us. This is one more example of an out-of-control presidency that places a politicized Washington agenda over the well-being of Oklahoma students.”
Fallin signed a repeal bill of the Common Core standards in early June that also allowed her state to return to its previous PASS standards.
Dear Leader Obama is bombing Iraq and getting ready to bomb Syria. As usual there is not a peep out of Congress as members from both parties hide under their desks hoping no one will actually ask them to do their jobs to debate and vote on going to war.
The Pentagon on Friday said American military operations in Iraq are costing an average of $7.5 million per day.
"Roughly right now, it's about $7.5 million per day," said Pentagon press secretary Rear Adm. John Kirby during a press briefing reports The Hill.
"That's based on the snapshot of the operations that have occurred on the 26th of this month," he said. .
President Obama has authorized the deployment of 775 U.S. troops to Iraq since June 16. As of Thursday, there were 768 U.S. troops in and around Baghdad and at a joint operations center in Erbil.
The U.S. military has conducted at least 106 airstrikes in Iraq since Aug. 8, using fighter jets, attack helicopters, a bomber, and armed drones.
The military has also conducted a humanitarian mission to air drop food, water and medical supplies to Iraqis who were stranded on Mt. Sinjar earlier in the month. U.S. cargo planes dropped at least 108 bundles of supplies.
Kirby said the $7.5 million being spent per day in Iraq was the average since mid-June, though the day-to-day costs have varied. He said the costs are being covered by the Overseas Contingency Operations budget, more commonly known as the war fund.
"We think we've got it covered in terms of 2014," he said. "We're well within the limits.”
Pro-Russian Syrian troops (who are protecting Christians) are butchered by the CIA backed ISIS army.
By Gary;
I am tired of screaming at the idiots reading the government generated press releases on the evening news about the Middle East.
So last night I gave up and popped in my DVD director's cut of Blade Runner.
All the talking head reporters and anchors are either brain dead fools or are being fed a script of what they are allowed to talk about. Fox News is the worst with endless war drum beating to get us involved in the Middle East. Remember wars are great for ratings.
The ratings driven media machine loves to report the roaring fire of ISIS, Syria and Iraq. But that same media repeatedly refuses to ask who started that fire.
I have blogged over and over that wars are ungodly expensive and large amounts of weapons are hard to get. So who has been supplying cash, weapons and ammo to ISIS?
The New York Times figured it out and reported that the CIA, Saudi Arabia and Turkey were secretly pouring in weapons into Syria. But for some strange reason both the right-wing radio and TV media and the Leftist media refuse to report on this. The media pretends that ISIS gets its weapons "magically" out of thin air.
Now we see the latest insanity of Islamic State soldiers parading around 250 captured soldiers through the desert in their underwear before they are killed and their bodies piled on the bare earth.
Again, watch the media machine focus on the killings and not who the supporters of ISIS are.
But I am just a crazy Blogger. What do I know?

The illegals are pouring in over the border fence to take your jobs and get free taxpayer funded lawyers.
Homeland security officials will not use threats and intimidation against immigrants facing possible deportation, and will allow some — perhaps thousands — with ties to Southern California to return under an agreement announced Wednesday.
The government admitted no wrongdoing in the settlement, which came in response to an ACLU lawsuit filed last year, but it agreed to take several measures to protect migrants' rights.
The agreement covers only Southern California, but some of the reforms in the deportation process are likely to be adopted nationwide, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials said reports the Los Angeles Times.
It was unclear how many people might be allowed to return under the agreement, but advocates estimated that it would be a small fraction of the 250,000 deported voluntarily from Southern California between 2009 and 2013, the period covered in the lawsuit.
Although critics called Wednesday's announcement yet another Obama administration move to mollify immigrant advocates at the expense of border security, American Civil Liberties Union leaders said the changes would result in a fair process that protects immigrants' rights.
"This is a historic settlement that will end a practice that tears families apart," said Norma Chavez Peterson, executive director of the ACLU of San Diego and Imperial counties.
In its lawsuit, the group alleged that federal agents in recent years had turned to intimidation, threats and misinformation to persuade immigrants in this country illegally to agree to voluntary deportation.
Many deportees were longtime California residents with no serious criminal records who didn't know that they could challenge their deportations in court, according to the lawsuit.
Among the reforms the settlement requires: Federal agents will be prohibited from using threats or pressure. They must advise people of their right to a hearing and provide them access to an informational hot line and a list of free legal service providers.
The settlement also calls for the United States to launch an outreach effort through Mexican media, aimed at informing deportees that they may be eligible to return if they are part of the settlement class.
Xena, every 14 year-old boy's wet dream. Now the great Lucy Lawless joins Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
For those who have missed it, watch Spartacus: Blood and Sand. Lucy is wonderful in that great series. Personally I can take or leave S.H.I.E.L.D. But with Lucy joining the cast I might tune in more often.
Lucy Lawless stars in her first official photo from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.
The 46-year-old actress portrays Agent Isabelle Hartley, a veteran agent who helps Director Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) rebuild the organization after it is infiltrated by Hydra. .
"When we meet her, she might not necessarily be on the right side of things," executive producer Jed Whedon recently told Entertainment Weekly. .
Lawless is no stranger to action roles, having starred on Hercules: The Legendary Journeys and its spinoff, Xena: Warrior Princess. She has also appeared on Battlestar Galactica, Spartacus: Blood and Sand and Spartacus: Vengeance.
Democrats are frightened to actually address the issues. Instead all government policies are race based and all opposition to those policies is from racists.
The Environmental Protection Agency’s proposed global warming regulations aren’t just about stemming global temperature rises — according to agency’s chief, they are also about “justice” for “communities of color.”
“Carbon pollution standards are an issue of justice,” said EPA Administrator Gina McCarthy in a teleconference call with environmental activists. “If we want to protect communities of color, we need to protect them from climate change.”
McCarthy is referring to the EPA’s proposed rule that would limit carbon dioxide emissions from existing power plants. The agency says the rule will not only help fight global warming, but will also improve public health as coal-fired power plants are shuttered. McCarthy, however, put special emphasis on how the rule would reduce asthma rates, which affect African-American children.
“Asthma disproportionately affects African-American kids,” McCarthy added. “In just the first year these standards go into effect, we’ll avoid up to 100,000 asthma attacks and 2,100 heart attacks — and those numbers go up from there.”

Welcome to Poverty
How do you rise out of poverty or even just feed yourself in a world where there are 100 humans applying for each of the remaining jobs that robots or computers are not doing?
The collapse of our economy to robotics/technology is right here before our eyes, but we refuse to see the truth.
Look for an explosion of the welfare state as millions go their entire lives without employment.
(Abu Dhabi) - Robots will soon be teaching basic math and other subjects at a private school in Abu Dhabi.
Merryland International School in Mussafah has launched what it claims is the first robotic lab in a UAE school, with more than 30 cutting edge robots including humanoids with built-in intelligence.
TRANSLATION - That means 30 humans were not hired as teachers. No pay checks. No way to support themselves with work. No ability to buy products to stimulate the economy. Also, if the robots do a good job existing teachers will be fired and replaced with machines.
Humanoid AISOY Raspberry Pi robot will teach basic addition and subtraction while Nao, the 57-cm tall Evolution Humanoid robot from France, will help special needs children.
Nao can walk, talk and even recognise emotions. The programmable robot can also be used to explore research topics in robotics, computer science, human-machine interaction and even social sciences.
Say goodbye to your job as robots, computers and outsourcing destroy the economy and your ability to buy a home, car or eat any food without using an EBT card.
Then there is the Genibo Robot Dog which falls asleep if the students are not attentive.
“I have sourced out some of the best and most advanced robots including humanoids, quadrupeds, hexapods, flying robots and pet robots from all over the world,” Susheela George, Founder of Merryland, told XPRESS.
“Our aim is to mould future scientists, designers, engineers and leaders,” she added.
Susheela claims the school has invested half a million dirhams to set up the robotics lab.
The school will have robotics science as a subject integrated to their Cambridge International curriculum, and delivered through physics, ICT and math classes. Students from grade three to 12 will benefit from the lab.
“The course will start in full swing next year after the teachers have completed their training from Pittsburgh University in the US,” said Susheela.
Yes, we are that stupid. "Listen, and understand. That terminator is out there. It can't be bargained with. It can't be reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear. And it absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead." Kyle Reese . . Killer robots a small step away Killer robots programmed to open fire without human control are just a “small step” from the battlefield and military powers should agree to outlaw them, a top United Nations official has said. .
Angela Kane, the UN’s high representative for disarmament, said governments should be more open about programmes to develop the technology and she favoured a pre-emptive ban before it was too late. .
She said: “Any weapon of war is terrible, and if you can launch this without human intervention, I think it’s even worse. It compounds the problem and dehumanises it in a way. .
“It becomes a faceless war and I think that’s really terrible and so to my mind I think it should be outlawed. The decision is really in the hands of the states who have the capability to develop them." .
Ms Kane said there was “a great deal of concern” about the prospect of killer robots being developed that would commit war crimes on the battlefield. . (Telegraph.co.uk/news)
A nuclear armed China is in no danger from attack by any country, but the military build-up goes on and on.
Communist China has moved a step closer to creating a supersonic submarine that could travel from Shanghai to San Francisco in less than two hours reports the South China Morning Post.
New technology developed by a team of scientists at Harbin Institute of Technology's Complex Flow and Heat Transfer Lab has made it easier for a submarine, or torpedo, to travel at extremely high speeds underwater.
"I can't hear you. China is doing what?"
Li Fengchen, professor of fluid machinery and engineering, said the team's innovative approach meant they could now create the complicated air "bubble" required for rapid underwater travel. "We are very excited by its potential," he said.
Water produces more friction, or drag, on an object than air, which means conventional submarines cannot travel as fast as an aircraft.
However, during the cold war, the Soviet military developed a technology called supercavitation, which involves enveloping a submerged vessel inside an air bubble to avoid problems caused by water drag.
A Soviet supercavitation torpedo called Shakval was able to reach a speed of 370km/h or more - much faster than any other conventional torpedoes.
In theory, a supercavitating vessel could reach the speed of sound underwater, or about 5,800km/h, which would reduce the journey time for a transatlantic underwater cruise to less than an hour, and for a transpacific journey to about 100 minutes, according to a report by California Institute of Technology in 2001.
However, supercavitation technology has faced two major problems. First, the submerged vessel has needed to be launched at high speeds, approaching 100km/h, to generate and maintain the air bubble.
Chinese Aircraft Carrier Programme In July 2011, a Chinese official announced that two aircraft carriers were being built at the Jiangnan Shipyard in Shanghai. On 21 May 2012, Taiwan's intelligence chief Tsai Teh-sheng told the Legislative Yuan that the PLA Navy plans to build two carriers, scheduled to start construction in 2013 and 2015 and launch in 2020 and 2022 respectively.
The U.S. government is tracking and gathering intelligence on as many as 300 Americans who are fighting side by side with the Islamic State group in Iraq and Syria and are poised to become a major threat to the homeland, according to senior U.S. officials.
Officials say concern is widespread in Washington that radicalized foreign fighters could return to the homeland and commit terrorist attacks with skills acquired overseas, according to officials who spoke on condition of anonymity due to the sensitivity of the information.
Those concerns were heightened by the disclosure Tuesday that a California man was killed fighting alongside militants with the group, also known as ISIS reports the Washington Times.
The U.S. government is doing its best to keep track of the foreign fighters, who have been shifting back and forth between Iraq and Syria, according to a senior U.S. official.
“We know that there are several hundred American passport holders running around with ISIS in Syria or Iraq,” the official said, offering a figure well above widespread reports of about 100 such fighters. “It’s hard to tell whether or not they’re in Syria or moved to Iraq.”
The State Department did not respond to a request for the number of Americans traveling in Iraq and Syria.
. .Supporters of the Islamic State group have worked to cultivate anxiety in the United States over the threat they might pose domestically.
. .Among photographs posted to Twitter in recent weeks is one that shows the Islamic State flag unfurled in front of the White House at night. Another photo taken in front of a high-rise building in Chicago features the message: “We are in your state. We are in your cities. We are in your streets. You are our goals anywhere."
.”
The alleged IS killer of kidnapped American journalist James Foley, shown in a video last week before he was supposedly beheaded, said that militant Muslims are proliferating throughout the world, not just in Iraq and Syria.
“You’re no longer fighting an insurgency. We are an Islamic army and a state that has been accepted by large number of Muslims worldwide,” Foley’s executioner said. “So effectively, any aggression towards the Islamic State is aggression towards Muslims from all walks of life who has accepted the Islamic caliphate as their leadership. So any attempt by you, Obama, to deny the Muslims their rights of living in safety under the Islamic caliphate will result in the bloodshed of your people.”

The news of as many as 300 Americans fighting with IS comes one day after reports that a 33-year-old American, Douglas McAuthur McCain, was killed over the weekend in Syria while battling alongside Islamic State against members of a separate opposition group. Family members confirmed his passing to NBC News, and senior US officials acknowledged that they were aware of the man’s death.
No one in society stands up for the American citizen worker and taxpayer. Everyone from unions to billionaires, from Democrats to Republicans is pushing for unlimited legal and illegal immigration.
If you dare to say out loud "American jobs and benefits for American citizens" they pull out the race card to beat you into submission.
A coalition of public health, labor and immigrant rights groups is urging President Obama to extend health coverage to immigrants allowed to remain in the United States under the administration’s controversial deferred action program.
The Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program (DACA), initiated via executive action in 2012, allows certain immigrants who came to the United States illegally as children to stay in the country and work reports The Hill.
But under guidance and regulations issued that year, those immigrants — often called “Dreamers” in reference to the stalled DREAM Act — are not entitled to health coverage under the Affordable Care Act, federal Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program.
Roughly 80 national organizations, including the AFL-CIO, the National Council of La Raza and the American Public health Association, note in a letter to Obama that tax dollars from the DACA grantees help support those programs.
“To continue to restrict immigrants’ access to affordable health coverage and care is to undermine values of fairness and opportunity, and this administration’s own achievements in expanding access to coverage, lowering healthcare costs, and sustaining the healthcare system for future generations,” the groups write.
I am a historian . . . . there, that should scare away 80% of the readers right now. Too many people are frightened to death that they might actually learn something.
Many may not like history, but history will come around and bite you in the ass if you do not know it.
In this case, we are dealing with the militaristic religion of Islam.
Forget all that crap you have been told about Islam being one of the "great religions". . . . the Religion of Peace etc. It is all BS and lies.
From day one Islam has been about military aggression, conquering their neighbors, murder, forced conversions and slavery. This is not politically correct, but the truth never is.
The wonderful movie Kingdom of Heaven is an excellent example Christians, armed with little more than a sword, shield and lance, facing down Jihadists fanatics out to destroy your religion and civilization.

An Invitation
For those with an interest in military history I invite you to visit my other blog: The Byzantine Military.
My site is devoted to the obscure and almost completely forgotten military history of the Eastern Roman Empire (330AD to 1453).
The Eastern Romans (or Byzantines) fought an 800 year war defending Western Civilization against militant, militaristic Islam.
After the fall of the Western Roman Empire, the Roman Army in the East continued to act as a shield defending a weak, primitive, backward and dysfunctional West from Islamic invasion for centuries.
The Romans did not have the modern luxury of calling in airstrikes on the invading hordes. They had to march out into the mountains and deserts and face the Islamists mano a mano.
If military history is your cup of tea then come on by. But for now check out videos of the modern version of Islamic troops that have traded their swords for rocket launchers and machine guns.
Like they say, the more things change the more they stay the same.
