Is the Ryan Budget Plan a Bad Joke?

"The difference between the Republican and Democratic parties is that, if the Democrats proposed burning down the White House, the Republicans would immediately counter with a measure to phase it in over three years."

Senator Malcolm Wallop (R-Wyoming)
  1933 - 2011

Conservatism is Dead  -  The GOP Ryan Plan grows the already massive Federal Government by 3.4% a year
  • How is that "small government" Republican Party working out for you?

By Gary;

I am sitting here alone on the Internet.  All of my small Constitutional government political heroes are dead  -  John Adams, Edmund Randolph, Alexander Hamilton, Daniel Webster, John Quincy Adams.  Gone, all gone.

The U.S. has moved so far to the left that today what passes for small government "Conservatism" is nothing more than moderate Socialism.

Those "small government" Conservative Republicans in the House of Representatives proposed a plan that pretends to balance the Federal budget in 10 years.  Never mind that not one single penny will be cut from the budget.

"I’m very comfortable with where his budget is and where it’s going," said Rep. Dave Camp, R-Mich., the chairman of the tax-writing House Ways and Means Committee, noting that he had input into the tax portions of the Ryan budget. "I think we’re very much in sync with that."

The Paul Ryan plan would cut the projected growth in annual spending from 5 percent to 3.4 percent. Though he wants to repeal the health care law, he also proposes to use the $716 billion that the law would cut from Medicare to help reduce the deficit.  Love that math.

Ryan claims his budget would save $1.8 trillion over the decade by repealing the health care law, a virtual impossibility as long as Obama remains president and Democrats control the Senate..

The True Patron Saint of the Republican Party.
If you transported GOP Senators and Congressmen back in time to 1933 they would be considered radical Leftist New Deal Democrats.
.
The fact of the matter is the "Conservative" Republicans of today eagerly vote to create, fund and defend every possible Leftist Wet-Dream Program ever thought of by FDR, Harry Truman or LBJ.
.
Since taking over Congress in 1994 the Republicans have steadily expanded and centralized the power and scope of the Big Brother re-distributive welfare / police state while adding massively to the national debt.  Since 2011 the GOP House has refused to stop spending and voted to keep piling up the national debt.  Now the GOP Ryan Plan will keep increasing the size of the already massive Federal Government by 3.4% a year.
.
Small government Conservatism is dead.  The nation has moved so far to the left that a moderate Socialist is called a Conservative.

Everyone joins together to grow the all-powerful State.
