Obama sells $1.75 billion in arms to Islamists who behead people

Islamist Saudi Arabia Gets U.S. Weapons
  • The CIA has been working closely with Islamist Saudi Arabia (which beheads their citizens) to pump massive amounts of weapons and cash to Islamist rebels in Syria.
  • Now the Saudis get even more U.S. weapons.  But one wonders when they are going to be sent to Syria.

(Associated Press)  -  The Obama administration has approved a $1.75 billion sale of Patriot missiles and associated items to Saudi Arabia to bolster the air defenses of the key U.S. ally in the Arab world.

The Defense Security Cooperation Agency announced Wednesday that the State Department had approved the transfer, which includes 202 Patriot missiles, test targets, launchers, spare parts and other equipment. It said the sale would improve the security of Saudi Arabia, a nation it said has been an important force for political stability and economic progress in the Mideast.

In a statement, the agency noted the move would not change the military balance in the region, where U.S. policy has long been for Israel to have a qualitative edge.

Islamist beheading is fine as long as you claim to be pro-America.

Saudi Arabia Beheads 19 in August
.
Saudi Arabia has beheaded at least 19 people since the beginning of August in a surge of executions, the Human Rights Watch (HRW) has said.
.
The deaths relate to the period from 4 to 20 August and are included in the 34 deaths ordered since the beginning of January.
.
According to HRW, international standards require that capital punishment should only be reserved for the “most serious crimes” in countries that still use it.
.
Offences that resulted in the Saudi Arabian death penalties in August ranged from drug smuggling and sorcery.
.
Four smugglers were executed on 18 August for smuggling a “large quantity of hashish” into the country amid an effort by King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the government to tackle the social ill of narcotics and warned that anyone else doing the same would also be punished “according to Sharia”, the Saudi Press Agency said.
