A phony GOP hiring freeze for the IRS

Republicans in Washington must think you are stupid
  • Every year the Conservative Republican controlled House keeps passing bills that increase spending and increase the national debt, but the GOP keeps pretending they believe in small government.

Now Fox News Greta Van Susteren reports that Republican Rep. Randy Forbes of Virginia has introduced legislation to impose a hiring freeze on the federal taxation agency. The bill is aimed at preventing the feds from using the IRS to implement Obamacare reports Infowars News.

The bill is total Bullshit.  It is a PR stunt for a clueless public obsessed with their toy phones and moronic cable TV shows.  Notice the GOP has not proposed to freeze general Federal spending or cut one single penny from the budget.

Text from the legislation reads:
“A Bill to prohibit the Internal Revenue Service from hiring new employees to enforce the federal government’s invasion into the healthcare lives of American citizens”… “This Act may be cited as the “Prevent IRS Overreach Act”….. “Prohibition on IRS from hiring new employees to enforce Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act”…… “No position within the IRS may be filled, by transfer or any other appointment taking effect on or after the date of enactment of this Act, if the duties and responsibilities of such a position include the enforcement of any provision if, or amendment made by, the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act.”
On Tuesday, Nevada Senator Dean Heller said he would introduce legislation to suspend $440 million of IRS funding intended to help enforce Obamacare.

“With the recent events related to the Internal Revenue Service, I feel it is necessary that both Congress and the Department of Health and Human Services look closely at the money given to the IRS through the health care law,” Heller wrote in a letter to Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius. “I intend to introduce legislation this week to suspend IRS funding for new agents enforcing the health care law until Congress sees an improvement.”

In June, the GAO estimated that the IRS would spend nearly $900 million in taxpayer money to implement the first four years of Obamacare. The Obama administration requested the $440 million targeted by Heller as part of its 2014 budget to gear up the IRS to facilitate implementation. By the end of this year, the IRS has estimated, it will need a total of 2,195 employees to work on Obamacare.
