NEWS AND VIEWS THAT IMPACT LIMITED CONSTITUTIONAL GOVERNMENT

Egyptian Military Coup and our Founding Fathers

A Military Dictatorship.
General Hosni Mubarak and General Anwar Sadat.  The Egyptian people rose up and threw off a cruel and corrupt military dictatorship and held the first free elections in 8,000 years.  Now the military has staged a coup and abolished the freely elected Parliament.

Dictatorship  -  Egypt's Justice Ministry issued a decree granting military officers the authority to arrest civilians
  • The freely elected Parliament is abolished.
  • Riot police and military personnel in armored vehicles are in the streets.

A military coup in Egypt abolishing a freely elected Parliament.  Expect one giant monster Clusterfuck.
.
But what has bothered me for months are idiots like Sean Hannity spewing out total bullshit that the U.S. somehow failed to back the military dictatorship of General Hosni Mubarak against the Egyptian people.
.
This insane baby talk from dip-shits like Hannity and his Fellow Neo-Con Travelers shows how far the United States has fallen away from the cause of freedom.  Our Founding Fathers put their lives on the line to kick a dictator out of our nation and establish a Republic.  Now so-called "Conservatives" like Hannity support dictators and trash the people of Egypt for daring to elect candidates they favor in free elections.
"General" King George III
America's last King was nothing more than
a military dictator in fancy dress.  In the olden
days when Americans had testicles we were
eager to overthrow dictatorships.  Now we
support dictatorships around the world.

Egypt's highest court declared the parliament invalid Thursday, and the country's interim military rulers promptly declared full legislative authority, triggering a new level of chaos and confusion in the country's leadership
.
The Supreme Constitutional Court found that all articles making up the law that regulated parliamentary elections are invalid, said Showee Elsayed, a constitutional lawyer.
.
The Supreme Council of the Armed Forces, in control of the country since Mubarak's ouster, said that it now has full legislative power and will announce a 100-person assembly that will write the country's new constitution by Friday.
.
Riot police and military personnel, some in armored vehicles, were outside the court ahead of the rulings. Military intelligence officers were also present.
.
After the ruling about Shafik was announced, a crowd of citizens shouted their disapproval. Military police moved to block the road in front of the court -- a major Cairo artery.
.
Protesters outside the court chanted slogans against the former Mubarak regime.
.
Shadi Hamid, director of research at the Brookings Doha Center, said the court rulings are the "worst possible outcome" for Egypt and the transition to civilian rule is "effectively over."
.
"Egypt is entering into a very dangerous stage and I think a lot of people were caught by surprise," he said.      (CNN - Egypt)

Free Elections in Egypt with voter ID too.

Freedom  -  What a concept.
Free Egyptian elections with many real choices on the ballot for the voters to choose from.

The ballot box, not the cartridge box.
