Police declare 'protesting is a nonessential activity'

Fascism
We are rapidly becoming what we fought against
  • Fascism is normal. The dirty little secret of the world is Fascism is the normal form of government for the human race. The first recorded history began around the 4th millennium BC.  For nearly all of that time fascism, in one form or another, was the standard and accepted form of governments.
  • It looks like at least half of Americans have eagerly abandoned their freedoms to return to pre-American Revolution authoritarianism and fascism.

(Washington Times)  -  The Raleigh Police Department is defending a controversial tweet that declared “protesting is a nonessential activity” after a demonstrator was arrested during a “Reopen North Carolina” event amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Police on Monday dispersed a group of people protesting outside the General Assembly amid Democrat Gov. Roy Cooper’s stay-at-home order, which prohibits residents from leaving their homes except for “essential activities” and bans gatherings of more than 10 people.

Demonstrators demanded the reopening of businesses in North Carolina and held signs that read, “Reopen NC,” “Freedom is not free,” and “#ReopenNC #Tyranny,” WNCN reported.

At 12:29 p.m., Raleigh police’s official Twitter account tweeted, “The protesters are in violation of the Governor’s Executive Order and have been asked to leave. #ReopenNC.”

A short time later, Raleigh officers were seen leading a woman away in handcuffs, WNCN reported.

“The police officers are just doing their job and I’m just doing mine,” the woman told WNCN as she was being led away.

Monica Faith Ussery, 51, was arrested by State Capitol Police and charged with violating an executive order, the station reported.

The tweet sparked a flurry of backlash and thousands of responses from First Amendment advocates, but the department is standing firm. In a statement Tuesday, the department said “protesting is not listed as an essential function” under the current state of emergency.

Our freedoms are vanishing

"The Fascist conception of the State is all-embracing; outside of it no human or spiritual values can exist, much less have value. Bathroom signs threaten our "safe space", UNC students complain

Safe Spaces For All
Only insane Leftists could turn taking a dump
into a social justice cause

(Campus Reform)  -  Social justice advocates at the University of North Carolina are outraged over new gender-neutral bathroom signs, saying they prefer the signs put up by students years ago.
Students with UNC’s “Campus Y,” a self-described center for social justice, were ahead of the gender-neutral curve when in 2013 they designated four single-stall restrooms in their on-campus building as being open to all genders.
Now that gender-neutral restrooms are being established throughout campus, however, The Daily Tar Heel reports that Campus Y members are complaining that the school surreptitiously removed their original signage early Wednesday morning, replacing it with university-approved placards that the students consider an insult to their previous efforts.
Specifically, they are upset that the newly-installed signs do not include the transgender pictogram (a combination of the Mars and Venus symbols used to indicate male and female organisms) and merely depict a stationary man, woman, and disabled person.
“It’s really hurtful knowing that the UNC administration—whoever those people are in an office somewhere—could take all that student passion away silently one morning before class,” Campus Y member Kaitlin Harlow told the Tar Heel.
Others went so far as to accuse the administration of openly attacking UNC’s LGBTQ community by replacing the restroom signs.
“Campus Y is a safe place for queer folks on campus, represented in a [sic] signage, so to tear down the signs we’ve made is an attack on this space and what it represents,” declared student Griffin Unger.

CHRISTMAS VACATION Is A ‘Microagression’ Now

A Nation of Balless Pussies

  • Instead of telling the Fascist Thought Police to go fuck themselves, our universities roll over like dogs and obey the commands of the first lunatic that comes along.

(Daily Caller)  -  The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill issued a guide this week which instructs students that Christmas vacations and telling a woman “I love your shoes!” are “microaggressions.”
The taxpayer-funded guide — entitled “Career corner: Understanding microaggressions” — also identifies golf outings and the words “boyfriend” and “girlfriend” as microaggressions.
The UNC Chapel Hill guide, published on Thursday, covers a wide range of menacing microaggressions — which are everyday words that radical leftists have decided to be angry or frustrated about.
Christmas vacations are a microaggression, the public university pontificates, because “academic calendars and encouraged vacations” which “are organized around major religious observances” centralize “the Christian faith” and diminish “non-Christian spiritual rituals and observances.”

Trump Sweeps Super Tuesday

Trump - Cruz
The Obvious 2016 Ticket to
Crush the Corrupt GOP Elites

By Gary;

Wow. The Donald swept Super Tuesday except for the brainwashed Republicans in Ohio who decided to lick the boots of their pro-NAFTA Governor.

The primary election is over folks.

I don't like Cruz. I view him as an phony bible-thumping opportunist. But it is obvious that a large minority of GOP voters want him.  So a Trump-Cruz ticket looks to be the way to wrap this up.

Cruz has nowhere to go.

There are many delegate rich states coming up: New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Wisconsin, Connecticut and Washington. These states are NOT friendly territory for hard right evangelical candidates.  Cruz is done.

At this point the two main insurgents need to join forces into a single ticket to totally crush the corrupt open borders GOP Establishment.

Top Races in 2016: The Midwest & The South

Florida GOP Congressman Carlos Curbelo is a major target of the Dems.

Roaring on to November

  • My quandary:  The Democrats are fucking Marxists and the Big Government loving Republicans are open borders whores for Wall Street. I am a man without a party.
  • Following these races is like watching a football game when you hate both teams.

(Roll Call)  -  A look at the most competitive House and Senate races for 2016. The Midwest Region covers Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio and Wisconsin.
Wisconsin Senate:
Republican Ron Johnson knocked off Democratic Sen. Russ Feingold by 5 points in 2010, but Feingold is back to try to reclaim his seat. Even though Feingold lost re-election, he starts the rematch with a positive image and Republicans have to remind voters about why they fired him or what they should like about him in the years since he was tossed from office.
Johnson is laser focused on fixing the economy and hasn’t bothered with some of the niceties of the Senate.
Rothenberg & Gonzales Political Report/Roll Call rating: Pure Tossup, but Johnson might be a slight underdog at this stage.
Ohio Senate:
National Democrats got the candidate they wanted to challenge GOP Sen. Rob Portman, but it remains to be seen whether former Gov. Ted Strickland will be successful. Strickland had an underwhelming $1.5 million in the bank on Sept. 30 and has yet to scare young Cincinnati City Councilman P.G. Sittenfeld out of the Democratic primary.
Meanwhile, Portman’s numbers are soft and he must re-introduce himself to voters with some of the $11 million he had in the bank at the end of September. If the election were held today, Strickland would probably win, but Republicans have time to drive up Strickland’s negatives.
Rothenberg & Gonzales Political Report/Roll Call rating: Leans Republican.
10th Congressional District of Illinois

Illinois 10th District:
A race between Republican Robert Dold against Democrat Brad Schneider is becoming a biennial affair. If Schneider wins the Democratic primary against Highland Park Mayor Nancy Rotering, the two men will face off for the third consecutive election.
The last two races were decided by a couple of points or less, and there is no reason to believe this race won’t be close as well. If Democrats can’t win here, it’s going to be a very long night for their party.
Rothenberg & Gonzales Political Report/Roll Call rating: Pure Tossup.

The South region includes: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia.
Florida Senate:
The Democratic primary between the establishment favorite, Rep. Patrick Murphy, and colorful Rep. Alan Grayson doesn’t have any signs of slowing down. The Republican field includes a handful of candidates and may not even be set.
Even with the nominations in doubt, the general election to replace GOP Sen. Marco Rubio is likely to be very competitive and could be impacted by the competitiveness of the presidential election at the top of the ballot. The race is a virtual must-win for Democrats to get back to the majority.
Rothenberg & Gonzales Political Report/Roll Call rating: Tossup.
Florida’s 26th District:
Republican Carlos Curbelo knocked off embattled Democratic Rep. Joe Garcia in 2014 and Democrats are targeting the seat in 2016. A court-ordered redraw of the congressional map made the district more Democratic, boosting the chances of Democrat Annette Taddeo.
But Curbelo won’t be easy to unseat, particularly with $1.2 million in campaign funds at the end of September. Democrats must win the seat to make a dent in the GOP majority.
Rothenberg & Gonzales Political Report/Roll Call rating: Tossup.
North Carolina Senate:
Democrats failed to get a top-tier recruit against GOP Sen. Richard Burr, but they haven’t given up completely. A combination of Democratic state Rep. Deborah Ross developing into a top candidate, Burr stumbling through a primary against 2014 candidate Greg Brannon, and Republicans imploding at the presidential level could put this seat at risk.
Burr starts 2016 in good shape for re-election, but if this race is a barn-burner, it could be a sign of bigger problems for Republicans across the country.
Rothenberg & Gonzales Political Report/Roll Call rating: Leans Republican.

21 year old mom blasts away at home invaders

You Picked the Wrong House Asshole

(Fox News)  -  A young mom was shot twice during a home invasion this week, but heroically defended her life and her infant with her husband's gun.
Semantha Bunce, a 21-year-old combat medic with the National Guard, was feeding her 4-month-old son, Bentley, when the nightmare began.
Bunce’s husband was at work and their daughter at school when the attackers kicked down the door of the North Carolina home.
Bunce frantically rushed the baby up to the bedroom and grabbed her husband’s legally-owned pistol.
“I think it was a shock to the intruders just as much as it was to her,” Paul Bunce, her husband, told WSOC-TV.
She exchanged fire with the intruders, chasing them off, but was seriously wounded.
Bunce remains in the hospital but is in stable condition, reports WCNC. Family members say she will need at least one more surgery.

North Carolina outlaws sanctuary cities

Is it Potomac Fever?

  • In North Carolina a GOP legislature and Governor pass common sense legislation banning sanctuary cities.
  • But when Republicans get elected to Congress they drop their pants and bend over for every open borders special interest group in the phone book.

(Washington Examiner)  -  North Carolina GOP Gov. Pat McCrory signed a bill into law Wednesday that bans any policy that interferes with the enforcement of federal immigration laws.

The Protect N.C. Workers Act, HB 318, reins in local and municipal policies that disregarded federal law by providing sanctuary or "safe" cities, and public benefits like food stamps, for individuals illegally in the U.S.

"We cannot allow our local officials in towns and cities in North Carolina to make up their own rules that conflict with our nation's laws and our nation's values," the governor stated during the bill signing.

The law also requires public contractors to verify a job applicant's right to work in the country through the Internet-based E-Verify program. The Federation for American Immigration Reform wrote that this provision will make it harder for illegal aliens to find employment, which would discourage illegal immigration and protect citizens' jobs.

Rockingham County Sheriff Sam Page and a nonpartisan group of state sheriffs attended the signing in Greensboro yesterday. Page called the bill a "win-win" for both law enforcement officers and the public.

Sex Scandal - Is Kevin McCarthy banging Renee Ellmers?

Did She or Didn't She?

  • For the most part I could care less who is getting laid.  This nonsense is a non-issue.
  • Blackmail, The Real Scandal  -  Far more interesting to me was how the Media Machine ignored the real scandal.  The affair, if it even happened, was posted on Wikipedia from a computer at Obama's Department of Homeland Security.  How this part story could be ignored is beyond me.

(The News Observer)  -  Three Republican challengers are working to unseat Rep. Renee Ellmers in the state’s 2nd Congressional District, with some seeking to capitalize on Ellmers’ unwanted push into the national spotlight in the past week.
Her competition in a crowded primary are three Republicans who all bill themselves as “true conservatives,” calling Ellmers a too-moderate Republican who has adopted a Washington agenda and wants to bring it to North Carolina.
Members of Congress are on a break this week, and Ellmers has been moving around the district. But she has been declining most interview requests. One of her opponents said a GOP meeting this week included a prohibition on video or audio recordings in what appeared to be an “act of censorship made at the request of the Ellmers camp.”
2nd Congressional District, North Carolina

Ellmers’ staff has been seeking to shield her from questions about an uncorroborated Internet rumor that suggested she had been in an inappropriate relationship with U.S. House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy of California. McCarthy was in line to become speaker of the House.
The rumor caught fire after a letter of warning from a fellow North Carolinian, U.S. Rep. Walter Jones, asked leadership candidates to step aside if they have committed embarrassing “misdeeds” or had “skeletons in their closets.”
McCarthy’s abrupt withdrawal from the speaker’s race turned a spotlight on Ellmers, too. Both Ellmers and McCarthy are married.
Ellmers has denied any affair, and says she’s been “targeted by completely false accusations and innuendo.” Her lawyer sent a “cease and desist” letter to the rumor’s originator, a website based in California.
Still, the unsubstantiated talk has given ammunition to some of her challengers, who all said they entered the race because Ellmers has strayed too far left from the conservative path of those who elected her.
She was in the national spotlight in January, too, over her role in stalling abortion legislation
Republicans who identify as pro-life were outraged. Ellmers defended her action, saying the bill was weak with major flaws.

IRS steals $107,000 from man in North Carolina

Lyndon McLellan

IRS Fascism

U.S. Attorney admonishes small business owner

to keep his mouth shut.

(Institute for Justice)  -  Lyndon McLellan has spent more than a decade running L&M Convenience Mart, a gas station, restaurant and convenience store in rural Fairmont, North Carolina. Then, almost one year ago, agents from the IRS came to the store and announced that they had seized his entire bank account, totaling more than $107,000.
Lyndon did nothing wrong, and the IRS has never alleged that he committed a crime—much less charged him with one. Despite this, in December 2014, the IRS and Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a civil forfeiture complaint in federal court, which, if successful, would allow them to keep Lyndon’s money permanently. The DOJ’s actions came months after the IRS announced a formal policy change prohibiting the agency from using civil forfeiture to take money from law-abiding citizens like Lyndon.
Yesterday, the Institute for Justice (IJ), a national public interest law firm leading the fight to end civil forfeiture, filed court documents contesting the IRS’s forfeiture of Lyndon’s money.
“This case demonstrates that the federal government’s recent reforms are riddled with loopholes and exceptions and fundamentally fail to protect Americans’ basic rights,” said Institute for Justice Attorney Robert Everett Johnson, who represents Lyndon. “No American should have his property taken by the government without first being convicted of a crime.”

In February 2015, during a hearing before the U.S. House of Representatives Ways & Means Oversight Subcommittee, North Carolina Congressman George Holding told IRS Commissioner John Koskinen that he had reviewed Lyndon’s case—without specifically naming it—and that there was no allegation of the kind of illegal activity required by the IRS’s new policy. The IRS Commissioner responded, “If that cases exists, then it’s not following the policy.”
When news of the IRS Commissioner’s statement got back to the United States Attorney in charge of Lyndon’s case, he advised Lyndon’s attorney and accountant that he was “concerned” that Lyndon’s case document was provided to Congress, and that:
Whoever made [the document] public may serve their own interest but will not help this particular case. Your client needs to resolve this or litigate it. But publicity about it doesn’t help. It just ratchets up feelings in the agency. My offer is to return 50% of the money. The offer is good until March 30th COB.
Lyndon is unwilling to give the government a single penny of his hard-earned money. As he puts it, “It took me 13 years to save that much money, and it took fewer than 13 seconds for the government to take it away.”
“As Congress is considering civil forfeiture reforms, it is clear that recent policy changes by the IRS and Department of Justice are not enough,” said Institute for Justice Attorney Wesley Hottot, who also represents Lyndon. “Lyndon is not a criminal; he’s a hardworking small business owner whose life has been turned upside down by the IRS and a prosecutor who does not seem to care about new policies designed to protect people like Lyndon. This is exactly why Congress needs to pass new laws to protect property owners.”

University: "Censor speech to fight social injustice"

The Modern University
The shock troops of the Big Brother state

(Campus Reform)  -  A North Carolina State University administrator is encouraging student leaders to censor speech they don’t like in a tunnel dedicated to free speech on campus.
In an email sent to all student group leaders Friday evening that was obtained by Campus Reform, Eileen M. Coombes, Director of Student Involvement, encouraged students to be creative while fighting against “social injustices and other forms of hate.”
“If you see hate speech or offensive language in the Free Expression Tunnel, cover that speech with the stencil, indicating that you, as a member of this community of scholars, will not stand for any form of hate at NC State.”
“One way to do so is through the new ‘State not Hate’ stencils now available in Student Involvement,” Coombes said in her email. “If you see hate speech or offensive language in the Free Expression Tunnel, cover that speech with the stencil, indicating that you, as a member of this community of scholars, will not stand for any form of hate at NC State.”
According to NC State’s website, the Free Expression Tunnel was built to curb random acts of graffiti around campus.
“The Free Expression Tunnel gives students a venue for expressing their thoughts and feelings about anything—from ‘Happy Birthday’ to announcing club and organization meetings,” the website states. “The tunnel never looks the same twice, as it is painted daily by various student groups.”

Charges Dismissed Against Man Arrested for Drinking Iced Tea

Court rules arrest unconstitutional as officer lacked reasonable suspicion

(Infowars)  -  A county court in North Carolina has moved to dismiss charges against a man arrested two years ago for drinking iced tea.
Back in April 2013, former Army Staff Sergeant turned rapper Christopher Beatty, AKA Xstrav, was filmed waiting for a friend outside of the Cumberland County ABC Liquor Store in Fayetteville, when a plainclothes officer walked up to him demanding to know what he was drinking.

The man, only verbally identifying himself as “police,” approached Beatty, who held out his drink at arm’s length, allowing the officer to read the label.

The officer grew irate after Beatty refused to allow him to hold the drink and asked him to leave the property for trespassing, despite Beatty attempting to explain he was there to make a future purchase.

The security officer, whom it later emerged worked with the Cumberland County Alcoholic Beverage Commission, next wrestled Beatty to the ground and handcuffed him.

Beatty was subsequently arrested and charged with trespassing and resisting a public officer.

Last week Cumberland County District Court Judge Lou Olivera ruled the arrest unconstitutional, saying that the officer lacked reasonable suspicion, holding that all “fruit of the poisonous tree” evidence derived from the arrest was thereby inadmissible.

Beatty’s attorney, Allen Rogers, said his client had no previous criminal history, and that he had held the can close enough for Libero to have caught the scent of alcohol. Additionally, Beatty’s speech did not appear to be slurred.

“It was an investigative stop, your honor,” Rogers said. “This is a former soldier, and there’s no history of anything like that.”

Off the Plantation: Elbert Guillory Explains Why Blacks Shouldn’t Vote for Kay Hagan

GOP State Senator Elbert Guillory

Waking Up Black Voters

Louisiana State Senator Elbert Guillory is one of the best spokesmen the Republican Party has.  Earlier this month, he produced an amazing video commercial telling Louisiana blacks how Mary Landrieu has failed them.
Now, Senator Guillory has turned to Senator Kay Hagan of North Carolina:

Send Kay Hagan Home

Why I am a Republican

This man is articulate, forceful, and believable, and he comes across to this pale male as authentic.  But what do I know?
If you are intrigued by Senator Guillory, take a look at his video explaining Why I am a Republican.  He gives me hope that the solid black Democrat voting bloc can be fractured.

Libertarian pizza guy could determine North Carolina’s Senate race

Libertarian candidate, Sean Haugh, is running for the US Senate from North Carolina.

Pizza and Politics
  • A corrupt two-party only Washington D.C. based oligarchy of Billionaire Cartels is strangling American elections.  We need more political parties on the ballot, not fewer.
  • Personally I love watching the Big Government loving GOP soil their pants that "their votes" might go to another party. . . . never mind that the votes belong to the people not the liar hack politicians.
  • Yes the Socialists must be defeated, but that may also include defeating the Socialist-Lite Republican Party that never met a Big Government program they did not want to fund and grow.

RALEIGH, North Carolina – Sean Haugh, the Libertarian candidate for North Carolina’s Senate seat, had a busy schedule on Wednesday. By the time he met msnbc for breakfast at 10 a.m. he had already appeared remotely on Fox News, taped a segment with ABC and held a separate breakfast meeting with another reporter. He had an interview with Voice of America lined up for the afternoon.

Things got easier in the evening, though. That’s when Haugh, 53, works his regular job as a pizza delivery guy in Durham.

“It’s a nice break from campaigning,” he told msnbc over tea. “I can fold boxes, deliver pizzas and clear my head for awhile.”

For now, though, he was still in candidate mode. That meant trading the pizza guy outfit for a pinstriped suit, blue shirt and red power tie while he spread the gospel of small government reports MSNBC.

Haugh draws support from an average 5% of voters in recent polls.

Haugh is about to get his biggest opportunity yet to woo disaffected voters. He’ll face off with Hagan and Tillis in a Senate debate Thursday sponsored by local station WECT and the League of Women Voters of the Lower Cape Fear.

It’s the only debate of the cycle to feature Haugh, who usually relies on YouTube videos to get his anti-war, anti-debt message out.

“’Stop all war’ is my main issue,” Haugh said. “Our enemies in the Middle East are armed to the teeth with our weapons and training and now we’re trying to find these mythical so-called moderate Syrian rebels … the average person looks at this and sees we already fought this same war twice.”

Foreign policy has become a prominent issue in the campaign, with Tillis running ads accusing Hagan of underestimating ISIS and Hagan responding with an ad of her own calling the accusation “outrageous.” Both candidates support airstrikes against the group, although they differ on arming Syrian rebels: Hagan was an early supporter of the idea, while Tillis has said he is unsure based on the same concerns Haugh raised.

Other policies Haugh is running against include “militarization of police,” “militarization of the border,” and “anything that involves killing people as government policy.”

“When I talk about stopping all war, I include the culture war too,” he said. “We cast so many things in the metaphor of war.”

While his pizza job gives him a catchy hook with voters, it’s not the full story of his career. Haugh’s a seasoned and articulate political activist who previously served as the executive director of the state Libertarian Party.

Neither Hagan nor Tillis aides are discussing his campaign, but the conventional wisdom is that Republicans have more to fear if he matches his current showing in the polls on Election Day. Tillis already fought off a tough challenge from the libertarian right in the Republican primary from Greg Brannon, a relatively fringe candidate who nonetheless drew high-profile support from Sens. Rand Paul and Mike Lee.

Paul visited the state last week to back up Tillis, whom he has since endorsed. BuzzFeed described an exchange during his trip in which the Kentucky lawmaker convinced a libertarian fan planning to vote for Haugh to switch her support to Tillis.

“I like Rand Paul a lot,” said Haugh, whose campaign manager Rachel Mills served as Ron Paul’s press secretary in Congress. “I’ve made my peace with the fact that Rand’s running for president and is going to go try to do all the ‘good Republican’ things to try and neutralize and even gain the support of the Republican establishment.”

Haugh called Tillis “unelectable” based on his high negatives in polls, but he doesn’t believe his campaign draws votes predominantly from either major party. Within the complex world of libertarian subcultures, he identifies with the more left-leaning side, not the right wing iteration that produced Brannon.

He cites Barry Goldwater and Martin Luther King, Jr. as his twin idols growing up in Arizona, where his parents were liberal and his grandfather, John Haugh, served as the Republican speaker of the House.

Sean Haugh for U.S. Senate
