Car Theft Tracking System Ended to Protect Illegal Aliens

The Denver City Council has voted unanimously to shutter a highly successful anti-theft auto license plate tracking system. The system was not closed due to concerns about privacy or finances. 

It was shut down because Democratic members believed that ICE could use the data to deport illegals.

In May, the council refused to renew the $666,000 contract with Flock for camera monitors around 70 Denver intersections to screen for car theft. That system resulted in the recovery of 170 stolen cars and 300 arrests. It is also credited with key evidence in the investigation of hit-and-run and murder cases.

However, it could also be used to assist ICE, and that is all that matters. Councilman Kevin Flynn explained it is all about Trump’s election: “We know that it can help solve crime. But I think since maybe Jan. 20 of this year, those concerns are greatly heightened and have a new reality about them.”

The police are obviously not happy but car thieves are thrilled. If this seems utterly insane, keep in mind that this was a unanimous vote of the city council.

The Colorado Sun noted the bill passed in the Senate earlier this week on a 19-15 vote. The 19 votes supporting the ban were all cast by Democrats.

The bill now goes to the House, which is where Rocky Mountain Gun Owners, a 2nd Amendment advocacy group, plans to wage a fight.

Rocky Mountain Gun Owners executive director Ian Escalante said, “This is a historic assault on our Second Amendment rights in Colorado. They are trying to turn the right to own a gun into a privilege. It is a major infringement and one of the worst gun control bills in U.S. history. We will fight it till the end, and we will fight in courts if we must.”

On January 29, 2025, Breitbart News warned a ban on numerous semiautomatic firearms — rifles and shotguns — passed the Colorado Senate Affairs Committee and was headed to the Senate Floor.

COVID "Deaths" Were Really Gunshot Wounds Says Coroner

 

(National File)  Coroner Brenda Bock of Grand County, Colorado has claimed of their five total deaths attributed to the coronavirus were really deaths as a result of gunshot wounds.

A report from CBS in Denver revealed that authorities were counting any dead people who tested positive for coronavirus in the last 30 days as “deaths among cases” – even if they really died from shootings, with Coroner Brenda Brock telling local media “two of their five deaths related to COVID-19 were people who died of gunshot wounds.”

“It’s absurd that they would even put that on there,” Bock said. “Would you want to go to a county that has really high death numbers? Would you want to go visit that county because they are contagious. You know I might get it, and I could die if all of a sudden one county has a high death count. We don’t have it, and we don’t need those numbers inflated.”

The state health department blamed the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for the debacle, stating that the CDC had required them to report anyone who died with COVID-19 for “public health surveillance”.

Colorado then lists these deaths as “Deaths among COVID-19 cases”, artificially inflating the actual coronavirus death toll.

Several activists confronted Malkin, with one of them beating on the conservative speaker with a baton.

Malkin said that activists also sprayed her and others with aerosol string as they were trying to give a speech on stage.

“Malkin was understandably distraught at this unanticipated violent turn of events and expressed frustration that Denver police, who were visibly present in the area, did nothing to stop the attacks or to allow the peaceful pro-police rally to continue,” according to American Thinker.

The intolerance and violent insurrection has not stopped.  The communist revolution masked as BLM “peaceful protests”-  has not let up, the media has decided to no longer cover the madness. Words "America", "Male" & "Female" Must Be Avoided Demands University

Taxpayer Funded Universities Are Brainwashing Students

Colorado State University claims that “American” is a non-inclusive word that should be avoided.

CSU's online Inclusive Language Guide, compiled by the school’s Inclusive Communications Task Force, lists certain words and phrases to avoid while providing  replacements in an effort to help “communicators practice inclusive language and [help] everyone on [its] campus feel welcomed, respected, and valued.” The school's Women and Gender Collaborative website directly links to the document. 

CSU lists both “American” and “America” as non-inclusive words "to avoid," due to the fact that America encompasses more than just the U.S. By referring to the U.S. as America, the guide claims that one “erases other cultures and depicts the United States as the dominant American country.” The school suggests using “U.S. citizen” or “person from the U.S.” as substitutes. 

The university additionally lists many gendered words and phrases to avoid. These include “male,” “female,” “ladies and gentlemen,” and “Mr./Mrs./Ms.” 

“Male and female refers to biological sex and not gender,” says the guide. “In terms of communication methods (articles, social media, etc.), we very rarely need to identify or know a person’s biological sex and more often are referring to gender.”

“Straight” is another word to avoid, according to CSU. The guide explained that “when used to describe heterosexuals, the term straight implies that anyone LGBT is ‘crooked’ or not normal,” and says to use the word “heterosexual” instead.

“Normal person” was also listed as a phrase to avoid because it “implies that ‘other’ people… are not whole or regular people.” The guide offered no substitute word because it claimed that it is never appropriate to use the phrase to describe someone.

According to the list, the phrase “handicap parking” should also not be used because it can “minimize personhood” and offend disabled people. The guide recommends “accessible parking” as an alternative.

“War,” “cake walk,” “eenie meenie miney moe,” “Eskimo,” “freshman,” “hip hip hooray!”, “hold down the fort,” “starving,” and “policeman” were among other words and phrases deemed non-inclusive by CSU.

CSU states that the document listing terms and phrases to avoid is "not an official policy or required practice," but rather "is intended as a resource to help our campus community reflect our Principles of Community, particularly inclusion, respect, and social justice."

On Sunday, the Democratic governor of Colorado, Jared Polis, stated that he would sign a bill allowing his state to circumvent the Electoral College, giving his state’s electoral votes to whomever won the national popular vote, thus allowing population heavy areas to determine the presidential election.

Polis told The Hill that he viewed the Electoral College as an “undemocratic relic,” adding, “I’ve long supported electing the president by who gets the most votes. It’s a way to move towards direct election of the president.”

If states whose electoral count totals 270 votes vote similar to the proposed Colorado bill, then they would combine their electoral votes and award them to the national popular vote winner, thus making that candidate the president. Currently, the number of electoral votes totaled in favor of such a position total 172, including 12 blue states and the District of Columbia. 11 more states have bills in their legislature similar to Colorado’s; their combined 89 electoral votes would put the proposal over the top.

John Koza, who chairs National Popular Vote, claimed, “Under a national popular vote, the 38 nonbattleground states long ignored by presidential campaigns will be powerful again, because no candidate can win 270 electoral votes and the White House without also winning the popular vote across all 50 states and the District of Columbia.”

'This is a safe space’: Colorado Children’s Hospital Removes Gender from Patient Wristbands

(Newswars)  -  A children’s hospital in Colorado announced it has eliminated gender designations on patient wristbands.

Children’s Hospital Colorado noted the change in a tweet last week.

“It’s not easy growing up with an expansive gender identity or expression,” the hospital’s website states, adding, “we’re here to support you on your journey, whatever that may be.”

The hospital’s endocrinology department features a “Gender Diversity” network which describes itself as a “safe space,” and contains several care programs for “gender-diverse children,” including hormone therapy, puberty blocking medicines and programs to assist with “plans for future treatments or procedures.”

“We are the only comprehensive care center in the Rocky Mountain region specifically set up for gender-diverse children, adolescents and young adults,” reads a passage on the TRUE Center for Gender Diversity site. “We embrace you for who you are, so you can become who you’ve been all along: your true self.”

After losing the Democratic primary to a white incumbent, former Colorado congressional candidate Saira Rao has decided it is time to “give up on white people.”

Rao tweeted a link to an April New York Times column asking the question “Should I Give Up on White People?.” Rao commented, “Short and long answer: YES.”

Rao, the daughter of Indian immigrants, challenged long-time Democratic Rep. Diana DeGette in the Denver congressional district, but only received 31 percent of the vote.

“I stand by it,” Rao told Colorado Politics about her tweeted statement. “It’s incumbent on white people and not people of color to solve it,” Rao said, just as it’s incumbent on men to solve sexism. 

If white people dislike being lumped in with white supremacists, that is because of their “white fragility,” Rao added.

Though she was running as a Democrat, Rao wrote in December column for The Huffington Post that she had broken up with the party after noticing “that the love has been one-sided.”

“You’ve taken my love, my money, my tokenism, with nary anything in return,” Rao wrote in the open letter addressed to the Democratic Party.

“You continue to call angry white men who commit mass murder ‘lone wolves.’ But if someone who looks like me screams ‘Allah’ and fires a gun, it’s “terrorism,'” Rao wrote.

Boulder City Council Passes Gun Ban

A controversial city ordinance to ban “assault weapons, bump stocks and high capacity magazines” passed the Boulder City Council unanimously on first reading Thursday night after more than five hours of public testimony on both sides of the issue.

As written, the ban would require anyone legally possessing anything under the ban to either register that gun with the Boulder Police Department (fee charged) or surrender it for destruction.

The first reading passage is not a final decision. The Council could make changes on second or even a third reading before it becomes law.

Councilwoman Jill Adler Grano, who asked for the ordinance, called the ban a “no brainer.”

“I don’t see this as taking away Second Amendment rights,” Grano said. “The Second Amendment does not protect assault weapons. There have been hundreds and hundreds of mass shootings in America. This is a long overdue proposal. I think it’s time to say enough, not in the city of Boulder.”

The interest in the ordinance drew hundreds of residents, most of whom watched the hearing on televisions in two additional rooms.

For the most part, attendees were respectful of each other. The mayor at one point asked the audience to refrain from clapping.

“It is uncomfortable for some,” she said.

City attorney Tom Carr asked the audience to stop laughing at him as he tried to explain the nuances of various types of guns.

Those in favor of the ban say something must be done to stop the bleeding. Those opposed say gun ownership is a Second Amendment right.[..]

David Kopel, a Constitutional Law professor at the University of Denver’s Sturm College of Law and Independence Institute Research Director told council members they should talk to the Attorney General before they take any action, saying there are profound problems with state preemption laws.

“The city attorney’s point of view that any gun that doesn’t have a pistol grip but just has some kind of protrusion on the stock turns this into a very, very broad ban,” Kopel said, also encouraging them to ask about other features that make it illegal. “If two people own a gun and one is 5-foot-2 and the other is 6-foot-4 the stock can be adjusted so it’s a better fit for the user. It is hard to see how that does not violate the constitutional right to arms to say that a gun because it fits better becomes more unconstitutional, and I think the same can be said about many of the other features on the list.”

Kopel, who is considered one of the foremost authorities on the Second Amendment, has written more than a dozen books on the subject. Still, Councilman Sam Weaver challenged Kopel because of his affiliation with the Independence Institute and the National Rifle Association.

Kopel added magazines over 10 rounds constitute over half of all magazines sold in the last 20 years.

“The criminalization of them with no grandfathering will turn a very large percentage of the population of Boulder into retroactive criminals, and people won’t register because they are afraid of confiscation,” he said.

(Reason)  -  In over 10,000 cities in all 50 states, the online platform Rover offers pet owners the ability to connect with walkers and sitters with the ease that characterizes the growing sharing economy. There are over 100,000 people who earn money by working with the platform and Rover is just one of many "pet sharing" sites.

But according to the Colorado government, people who watch pets for money are breaking the law unless if they can get licensed as a commercial kennel—a requirement that is costly and unrealistic for people working out of their homes, often as a side job.

This is not simply a case of an outdated law failing to accommodate modern technology. There are more nefarious motives—those of special interests who want to protect their profits by keeping out new competition. As Americans For Tax Reform's John Kartch argues, it is time to add "Big Kennel" to the list of special interests that support ridiculous occupational licensing schemes.

Lisa Jacobson experienced the wrath of the kennel industry and its defenders in government firsthand. She started working with Rover a little over a year ago when she was in between careers. Even though Jacobson is a single mother of two, she could earn money to pay her mortgage through the work she found with Rover. Because of her five-star rating and unique skills, Jacobson was soon at the top of search results and her client list grew.

Unfortunately, her success attracted the attention of a large commercial kennel in Colorado Springs, which filed a complaint against her. Then an inspector from the Colorado Department of Agriculture came to her home and told Jacobson that she was advertising pet sitting without a kennel license. The inspector said that Jacobson had to get a state license or take down her Rover profile.

When Jacobson found out that the license came with a $400 nonrefundable application fee, she was torn. There was no way her home would be approved, since both carpet and hardwood floors are not allowed at commercial kennels, but she needed the income to support herself and her children. She decided to avoid legal trouble and took down her profile. In a single day, she lost all her income from Rover simply because state regulators refuse to recognize that watching someone's pet at home does not automatically turn a person into a large-scale kennel business.

After the initial shock of being shaken down by a government bureaucrat subsided, Jacobson decided to fight back. She joined others in testifying in favor of House Bill 1228, an effort by Colorado state legislators to restore some sanity to pet sharing regulations that is sponsored by Rep. Lois Landgraf (R), Rep. Dan Pabon (D), and Sen. Kevin Priola (R).

Obama fines Denver for not hiring non-citizens for Sheriff deputy jobs

(Tenth Amendment Center)  -  In yet another example of extreme federal overreach, the U.S. Department of Justice recently fined the Denver County Sheriff’s Office because it disqualified non-citizens from applying for open deputy positions.

In early 2015, the sheriff’s office kicked of a major hiring push, adding more than 200 deputies. The department ran afoul of federal law when it made U.S. citizenship a specific condition of employment. Under the Immigration and Nationality Act, employers must give equal treatment to non-citizens who possess valid work permits unless federal, state or local law explicitly mandates citizenship as a requirement for a specific job. 

Because neither Colorado nor Denver County requires law enforcement officers to be citizens, the feds claim the sheriff’s office cannot exclude non-citizens from its hiring process.

According to the Daily Caller,  the Denver County Sheriff’s Office settled the case, agreeing to pay a $10,000 fine and to give due consideration to any non-citizen who applied for deputy jobs over the past two years.

This might lead you to ask, “What constitutional authority does the federal government have to dictate a county sheriff office’s hiring policy?”

The answer is none.

But when has that ever stopped the federal government from doing anything?

(World Net Daily)  -  Jim Gilbreath and his fellow Colorado delegates came to the Republican National Convention “praying for a miracle,” hoping the rules might go their way and allow for a “white knight” candidate to take the place of Donald Trump.

As he headed home to Colorado Springs on Saturday afternoon at Cleveland Hopkins International Airport, he told WND that while his party has confirmed Trump as the nominee, he and many others in his delegation are not on board.

“I can tell you that from the Colorado contingent, there will be quite a few people who will not be out helping Trump,” said Gilbreath, who describes himself as a pro-life, pro-religious liberty and pro-Constitution activist.

“The activists are the social conservatives, and they are the ones that are embarrassed to put the (Trump) bumper stickers on their car. How do you win? You can’t.”

In Colorado, Virginia and other swing states, he said, “you’ve gotta have people out there doing the work.”

“I’ve only seen two Trump bumper stickers on cars,” Gilbreath said. “In the last cycle, there were tons of Mitt bumper stickers. And Mitt lost.”

Why not campaign for Trump simply because standing down could result in a President Hillary Clinton?

“It’s inevitable. It doesn’t matter what I think. It’s what the populace is going to do,” he replied.

Gilbreath, who initially campaigned for Dr. Ben Carson and was elected as a Ted Cruz delegate.

“Do you want to win the battle or do you want to win the war?” he asked.

“For me, the war is conservatism. If you lose conservatism because you choose Trump, then you may win in this cycle [but lose the war].”

Glenn helped kick off a night of high-profile speeches, appealing to the crowd to support “our heroes in blue” in Baton Rogue and Dallas after a series of police killings.

Glenn, a black conservative, Air Force veteran, and county commissioner, also criticized President Barack Obama for dividing the country on racial lines.

The four-minute speech was marked with memorable one-liners, capturing the spirit of Glenn’s fiery speech in April at the Colorado GOP convention that propelled the candidate to victory in a crowded Republican primary.

“I am often asked why are you a Republican?” Glenn said. “It’s because the Democrat party is the party of handouts. After more than seven years, the only thing we have left in our pockets is change.”

Glenn called Obama the “divider-in-chief,” adding America is “more racially divided today than before he ran.”

“Mr. President, I have a message,” Glenn said. “This is not about black America, white America, brown America. This is about the United States of America.”

“Somebody with a nice tan needs to say this,” Glenn said. “All lives matter.”

Glenn said Obama’s rhetoric has a “direct impact on the relationship between the community and the police,” and appealed for unity.

“We can bring this country together. But we must realize that our heroes in blue are part of the solution and not the problem,” Glenn said.

“Stand up and support those men and women in Dallas. Stand up and support those people in Louisiana. Blue lives matter,” he said, drawing some of the loudest applause of the night.

Democrats are targeting freshman Rep. David Young, but the congressman’s district isn’t as favorable for a challenge as GOP Rep. Rod Blum’s 1st District. Obama won the 3rd with 51 percent in 2012 and 52 percent in 2008. 

Three Democrats are in the race including investment executive Mike Scherzan, Iraq War veteran/former Steve King challenger Jim Mowrer, and businessman Desmund Adams. This is a must-win seat for Democrats in a race that will probably be dominated by spending from the campaign committees.

Missouri Senate: 

Republican Sen. Roy Blunt isn’t on the verge of defeat, but if his race against Democratic Secretary of State Jason Kander gets close, it’s probably a sign that the Republican majority in the Senate has been lost. 

Blunt has been in Washington since before Mark McGwire was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals and the senator has family connections to lobbyists, who aren’t particularly popular these days. But Kander is punching above his weight class and must prove he can keep up his fundraising pace. The last sitting secretary of state elected to the Senate was Democrat Max Cleland in Georgia in 1996.

Nebraska 2nd District: 

Republicans don’t have a lot of House takeover opportunities, but this is one of them. Democrat Brad Ashford knocked off GOP Rep. But after a rocky start in office, Ashford has apparently righted the ship and Republicans aren’t exactly flocking to get into the race. 

Retired Brig. Gen. Don “Bits” Bacon and former state Sen. Chip Maxwell are running on the Republican side, while others are waiting for the political climate to improve or wait for the 66-year-old Ashford to retire.

The Mountain Region covers Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Utah and Wyoming.

Colorado 6th District: 

House Democrats wouldn’t have been sad to see GOP Rep. Mike Coffman leave this seat to run for the Senate, but they’re still confident they can win this competitive district, even though the congressman is seeking re-election. 

Coffman easily defeated the hyped former state Speaker Andrew Romanoff in 2014, but Democrats believe state Sen. Morgan Carroll is even better. President Barack Obama won the 6th by 6 points in 2012 and 9 points in 2008, so this is the type of district Democrats must win to get back to the majority. It won’t be easy.

Republicans aren’t sure whether they have a candidate in the race who can defeat Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet after Coffman and Arapahoe County District Attorney George Brauchler declined to run. A handful of Republicans are running and state Rep. Jon Keyser is expected to join them in January, but all of them have to ramp up their campaigns. 

Democrats would improve their chances of taking back the majority in the Senate by re-electing Bennet and holding the Nevada open seat so any takeovers would add to the party’s net gain.

Utah 4th District: 

Democrat Doug Owens narrowly lost to Mia Love, 50 percent to 47 percent, last cycle and is back for a rematch. The congresswoman didn’t help herself with stories about flight reimbursements but, unlike in 2014, Owens will face hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of dollars of attack ads next year. 

As the first black Republican woman to serve in Congress, Love looks to have a bright future in the party, if she can win re-election.

Rothenberg & Gonzales Political Report/Roll Call rating: Safe Republican, but could get more competitive.

Wyoming At-Large: 

GOP Rep. Cynthia M. Lummis’ retirement creates an open seat. And even though Garfield disputed the state’s existence, Wyoming will host a competitive Republican primary next August. Races in the Equality State tend to develop late, but the field of replacement candidates could include state Rep. Tim Stubson and attorney Liz Cheney, former Vice President Dick Cheney’s daughter. 

Lummis is the only woman in the House Freedom Caucus, so the primary could influence the balance of power within the GOP conference.
