(Gateway Pundit)  The Wyoming GOP on Monday voted to no longer recognize Rep. Liz Cheney as a Republican.

This is the second formal rebuke of Cheney this year.

In February, the Wyoming GOP voted to censure Cheney for voting to impeach Trump.

The Wyoming Republican Party will no longer recognize Liz Cheney as a member of the GOP in its second formal rebuke for her criticism of former President Donald Trump.

The 31-29 vote Saturday in Buffalo, Wyoming, by the state party central committee followed votes by local GOP officials in about one-third of Wyoming’s 23 counties to no longer recognize Cheney as a Republican.

Everything Liz Cheney has done in the last year has benefitted the Democrat party.

Ron Paul Urges Wyoming Governor to Sign Bill to Treat Gold and Silver as Money

When gold and silver was money somehow the sun came up every day, children played, businesses did business, people went to work and lived their lives.  But our ever so smart economists from the very best schools (who think loaning money to Greece and Puerto Rico is a good idea) tell us we are the "crazy" ones for wanting a stable gold backed currency and balanced budgets. 

(Tenth Amendment Center)  -  Ron Paul produced a video message urging Wyoming residents to contact Gov. Matt Mead and urge him to sign a bill that would define gold and silver specie as legal tender and eliminate all taxes levied on it. Paul said the legislation “has a great deal of significance.”

Titled the Wyoming Legal Tender Act, House Bill 103 (HB103) defines gold and silver specie as “legal tender,” meaning it would be recognized as a medium of exchange for the payment of debts and taxes in the state. Practically speaking, gold and silver specie would be treated as money, putting it on par with Federal Reserve notes in Wyoming.

If Mead signs the bill into law, it will pave the way for the use of gold and silver in everyday transactions and could help undermine the Federal Reserve’s monopoly on money.

Paul said the bill isn’t even doing anything new. It simply takes a step toward aligning the state with the U.S. Constitution.

“The states are supposed to use only gold and silver as legal tender. It’s as simple as that.”

Paul noted that things move agonizingly slow in Washington D.C. Passing bills like this at the state level are an important step toward real monetary reform.

“It’s just to me sad that we are so far removed from the Constitution. But a little bit here and a little bit there, there is going to be a revolution in monetary policy.”

Paul emphasized that monetary reform is an important step toward reducing the power of the federal government.

“Believe me, the size and scope and interference of government would change a whole lot if we could rein in the monetary system, rein in the Federal Reserve and rein in this spending.”

Paul said the big thing now is to convince the governor to sign HB103 into law.

Iowa 3rd District: 

Democrats are targeting freshman Rep. David Young, but the congressman’s district isn’t as favorable for a challenge as GOP Rep. Rod Blum’s 1st District. Obama won the 3rd with 51 percent in 2012 and 52 percent in 2008. 

Three Democrats are in the race including investment executive Mike Scherzan, Iraq War veteran/former Steve King challenger Jim Mowrer, and businessman Desmund Adams. This is a must-win seat for Democrats in a race that will probably be dominated by spending from the campaign committees.

3rd Congressional district of Iowa

Missouri Senate: 

Republican Sen. Roy Blunt isn’t on the verge of defeat, but if his race against Democratic Secretary of State Jason Kander gets close, it’s probably a sign that the Republican majority in the Senate has been lost. 

Blunt has been in Washington since before Mark McGwire was traded to the St. Louis Cardinals and the senator has family connections to lobbyists, who aren’t particularly popular these days. But Kander is punching above his weight class and must prove he can keep up his fundraising pace. The last sitting secretary of state elected to the Senate was Democrat Max Cleland in Georgia in 1996.

Nebraska 2nd District: 

Republicans don’t have a lot of House takeover opportunities, but this is one of them. Democrat Brad Ashford knocked off GOP Rep. Lee Terry in 2014, although it was more about Terry’s ineptness than Ashford’s strength. But after a rocky start in office, Ashford has apparently righted the ship and Republicans aren’t exactly flocking to get into the race. 

Retired Brig. Gen. Don “Bits” Bacon and former state Sen. Chip Maxwell are running on the Republican side, while others are waiting for the political climate to improve or wait for the 66-year-old Ashford to retire.

Colorado 6th District: 

House Democrats wouldn’t have been sad to see GOP Rep. Mike Coffman leave this seat to run for the Senate, but they’re still confident they can win this competitive district, even though the congressman is seeking re-election. 

Coffman easily defeated the hyped former state Speaker Andrew Romanoff in 2014, but Democrats believe state Sen. Morgan Carroll is even better. President Barack Obama won the 6th by 6 points in 2012 and 9 points in 2008, so this is the type of district Democrats must win to get back to the majority. It won’t be easy.

Colorado Senate: 

Republicans aren’t sure whether they have a candidate in the race who can defeat Democratic Sen. Michael Bennet after Coffman and Arapahoe County District Attorney George Brauchler declined to run. A handful of Republicans are running and state Rep. Jon Keyser is expected to join them in January, but all of them have to ramp up their campaigns. 

Democrats would improve their chances of taking back the majority in the Senate by re-electing Bennet and holding the Nevada open seat so any takeovers would add to the party’s net gain.

Utah 4th District: 

Democrat Doug Owens narrowly lost to Mia Love, 50 percent to 47 percent, last cycle and is back for a rematch. The congresswoman didn’t help herself with stories about flight reimbursements but, unlike in 2014, Owens will face hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of dollars of attack ads next year. 

As the first black Republican woman to serve in Congress, Love looks to have a bright future in the party, if she can win re-election.

Wyoming At-Large: 

GOP Rep. Cynthia M. Lummis’ retirement creates an open seat. And even though Garfield disputed the state’s existence, Wyoming will host a competitive Republican primary next August. Races in the Equality State tend to develop late, but the field of replacement candidates could include state Rep. Tim Stubson and attorney Liz Cheney, former Vice President Dick Cheney’s daughter. 

Lummis is the only woman in the House Freedom Caucus, so the primary could influence the balance of power within the GOP conference.

(Independent Sentinel)  -  Farmers and ranchers call the EPA’s new water rule the biggest land grab in the history of the world. It is a massive land grab, especially in a country that has been built on the right to own property. The administration is changing all that.

A new oppressive water rule gives the EPA jurisdiction over all public and private streams in the United States that are “intermittent, seasonal and rain-dependent.” It will regulate what are normal daily ranching and farming practices and take control of their land.

According to congressional budget testimony, waters of the United States would give the EPA authority over streams on private property even when the water beds have been dry, in some cases, for hundreds of years.

EPA Chief Gina McCarthy tested the power of the EPA in advance of the passage of these harsh new rules by using it in the case of a Wyoming man and his pond. The rule wasn’t even put through when the EPA threatened him. McCarthy took out her pen and phone.

Andy Johnson is being fined $37,500 a day and faces criminal penalties for building a pond on his property.

Andy and Katie Johnson built a stock pond on their 8-acre Wyoming farm. They filled it with clear water, fish, ducks and geese. His horses used it to drink and graze.

All went well until the EPA went after the family for violating the Clean Water Act. Regulators showed up on the Johnson’s land one day and said they were facing a “very serous matter.”

Andy Johnson has vowed to go bankrupt before he pays the government a dime. He wants to teach his children to not back down.

The EPA claims the Johnsons built a dam on a creek without a permit from the Army Corps of Engineers. The EPA charges the pond discharges into other waterways. Johnson says it’s a pond to attract wildlife which is exempt from Clean Water regulations.

department because a new policy prohibits deputies from wearing cowboy
boots and cowboy hats while on duty.

(Casper Star Tribune)  -  There’s a new sheriff in an Old Western town, and his first order of business is to ban deputies from wearing cowboy hats and cowboy boots.

Stephen Haskell has been sheriff of Sublette County since Jan. 5. The county covers eight communities, including Pinedale, which True West magazine recently named one of its 2015 top 10 true Western towns.

The same month the list was published, Haskell decided the Western look no longer belonged on his officers.

So he decided on new uniforms: black trousers, a tan shirt, black boots and a black ball cap. And you won’t see Gene Bryson wearing any of it.

Bryson, 70, was the deputy who wore the brown cowboy hat, brown cowboy boots, summertime leather vest or wintertime wool vest.

He retired on Friday after 28 years with the Sublette County Sherriff’s Department, 40 years total in law enforcement, the only guy on the force still wearing a cowboy hat.

“That’s kind of the reason why I retired,” Bryson said. “I am not going to change. I’ve been here for 40-odd years in the Sheriff’s Office, and I’m not going to go out and buy combat boots and throw my vest and hat away and say, 'This is the new me.'

“That’s not going to work.”

Bryson was born and raised on a ranch in Montana, then moved to work on a ranch in Colorado and Wyoming.

He went into law enforcement in 1974. He was sheriff of Niobrara County from 1979 to 1984 and has also been an undersheriff, a captain, a sergeant, an investigator and more.

“And I’ve had a cowboy hat on since 19-I-don’t-know,” Bryson said. “I’ve always worn a cowboy hat, all my life.”

Bryson’s Old West look was popular in town, enough so that tourists and locals would constantly ask for pictures.

“That’s what looks good to me in the Sheriff’s Department,” Bryson said. “It’s Western. It’s Wyoming.”

Yellowstone's huge earthquake - It's the end of the world as we know it

Yellowstone National Park, which sits atop one of the world's largest super-volcanoes, was struck on Sunday by a magnitude 4.8 earthquake, the biggest recorded there since February 1980, but no damage or injuries were immediately reported.

The tremor, a relatively light event by seismic standards, struck the northwest corner of the park and capped a flurry of smaller quakes at Yellowstone since Thursday, geologists at the University of Utah Seismograph Stations said in a statement.

The latest earthquake struck at 6:34 a.m. near the Norris Geyser Basin and was felt about 23 miles away in two small Montana towns adjacent to year-around entrances to the park - Gardiner and West Yellowstone reports Reuters News.

The national park spans 3,472 square miles (8,992 square km) of Wyoming, Montana and Idaho, and draws about 3 million visitors each year to its iconic geysers and wildlife attractions, including bison.

A U.S. Geological Survey team planned to tour the Norris Geyser Basin on Sunday to determine if the quake altered any of Yellowstone's geothermal features, such as geysers, mud pots and hot springs.

The ancient super-volcano, or caldera, that lies beneath the surface of the park was discovered by scientists in recent years to be 2.5 times larger than previously thought, measured at 30 miles wide, according to the park.

Sunday's quake occurred near the center of an area of ground uplift that geologists have been tracking for several months, University of Utah seismologists said. Elevated seismic activity was also found in the area during a previous period of uplift from 1996 to 2003.

The recent spike in earthquake activity at Yellowstone is linked to the uplift, which in turn is caused by the upward movement of molten rock beneath the Earth's crust, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

Fortunately, there was no indication that the recent seismic activity signaled an impending eruption of the Yellowstone Caldera, scientists said.

(CNS News)  -  Why is the EPA altering state boundaries in Wyoming - and reversing over 100 years of established law?

Well, apparently the city of Riverton now falls under the jurisdiction of the Wind River Indian Reservation.  This, obviously, isn't sitting well with the governor's office - which is urging the EPA to reconsider its ruling and respect the rule of law.

Reacting to the decision to reduce the size of Wyoming by about a million acres, GOP Wyoming Governor Matt Mead warned of the dangers to all Americans of this type of unilateral land redistribution by the EPA:

"I understand that the Northern Arapaho and Eastern Shoshone Tribes have a different opinion about the Wind River Reservation Boundary. My deep concern is about an administrative agency of the federal government altering a state's boundary and going against over 100 years of history and law.

"This should be a concern to all citizens because, if the EPA can unilaterally take land away from a state, where will it stop?" Governor Matt Mead said in a press release on January 6.

Gov. Mead added, "The Attorney General's petition shows that, in conjunction with the Tribes, Congress diminished the Wind River Reservation in 1905. Given the fundamentally flawed process and decision and the likelihood of irreparable harm, the EPA should put a hold on its decision and reopen its process to incorporate all of the available evidence, give interested parties an opportunity to respond to the facts and arguments and complete its review in a transparent manner. The State has also asked the EPA to stay its decision until a final judicial decision has been issued."

When Wyoming received the EPA's unpublished decision granting the Tribes "Treatment As State" status on December 9, 2013, Gov. Mead called on the state's attorney general to challenge the decision:

"It is outrageous to me that a regulatory agency has proposed changing jurisdictional boundaries established by history and the Courts. I have asked the Attorney General to challenge this decision and defend the existing boundaries of the reservation.

while armed rangers stayed at the door.

The American Police State  -  Pat Vaillancourt went on a trip last week that was intended to showcase some of America’s greatest treasures.

Instead, the Salisbury resident said she and others on her tour bus witnessed an ugly spectacle that made her embarrassed, angry and heartbroken for her country.

Vaillancourt was one of thousands of people who found themselves in a national park as the federal government shutdown went into effect on Oct. 1. For many hours her tour group, which included senior citizen visitors from Japan, Australia, Canada and the United States, were locked in a Yellowstone National Park hotel under armed guard reports the Eagle Tribune.

The tourists were treated harshly by armed park employees, she said, so much so that some of the foreign tourists with limited English skills thought they were under arrest.

When finally allowed to leave, the bus was not allowed to halt at all along the 2.5-hour trip out of the park, not even to stop at private bathrooms that were open along the route.

“We’ve become a country of fear, guns and control,” said Vaillancourt, who grew up in Lawrence. “It was like they brought out the armed forces. Nobody was saying, ‘we’re sorry,’ it was all like — ” as she clenched her fist and banged it against her forearm.

Vaillancourt took part in a nine-day tour of western parks and sites along with about four dozen senior citizen tourists. One of the highlights of the tour was to be Yellowstone, where they arrived just as the shutdown went into effect.

Rangers systematically sent visitors out of the park, though some groups that had hotel reservations — such as Vaillancourt’s — were allowed to stay for two days. Those two days started out on a sour note, she said.

The bus stopped along a road when a large herd of bison passed nearby, and seniors filed out to take photos. Almost immediately, an armed ranger came by and ordered them to get back in, saying they couldn’t “recreate.”

The tour guide, who had paid a $300 fee the day before to bring the group into the park, argued that the seniors weren’t “recreating,” just taking photos.

“She responded and said, ‘Sir, you are recreating,’ and her tone became very aggressive,” Vaillancourt said.

The seniors quickly filed back on board and the bus went to the Old Faithful Inn, the park’s premier lodge located adjacent to the park’s most famous site, Old Faithful geyser. That was as close as they could get to the famous site — barricades were erected around Old Faithful, and the seniors were locked inside the hotel, where armed rangers stayed at the door.

I don't know how, but somehow this story of an independent nation of Wyoming slipped by me.  Now that I have been told about it I just have to share.

An independent Wyoming.  Why the Hell not?

Let's face facts.  The United States has had a good run.  It is time to move on.  No one gives a shit about that stupid old fashioned Constitution and Bill of Rights anyway.  The bi-partisan Elites view American culture as inferior.  That is why they want the legal and illegal importation of millions of people from other nations.

So screw it.  I am tired of defending a Constitution that no one gives a crap about.  Let's go for it.  Let's break up the United States.

• The Republic of Wyoming  -  A February bill in the Wyoming Legislature to prepare the state for possible secession authorized a task force to consider establishing a state army, navy, marine corps and air force, and one amendment added the consideration of purchasing an aircraft carrier.

Wyoming is, of course, landlocked, but it does have the 136-square-mile Yellowstone Lake, though that body of water is high up in the Teton mountains. (The aircraft-carrier amendment was defeated even though 27 representatives voted for it.)

 • The Republic of Texas  -  Texas announced in February that it would deploy six gunboats to patrol the Mexican border’s Rio Grande. Said a state Department of Safety official, “It sends a message: Don’t mess with Texas.”

California is the center or the world.  We have it all from the Golden Gate to Silicone Valley to Yosemite to Hollywood to Disneyland to San Diego.

Everyone on earth wants to come here.  No immigrant dreams at night of escaping their piss-poor homeland and moving to Indiana, Alabama, Pennsylvania or Kansas.  That's just the facts.

No one really gives a rat's ass about the U.S. anymore.  Let's do this.  Aircraft carriers for everyone.
