It was Carly's Night to Shine
- My fellow Californian Carly came across strong. Waiting to see what the polls say about her next week.
- It was an ugly gang rape of midgets on Donald Trump. CNN and the Lilliputian candidates on stage did their best to gut the GOP front runner on live TV. Talk about naked ambition and greed for personal power!
- I am not seeing the value of "debates" where ambitious loser candidates with 1% to 3% in the polls try to destroy viable candidates with wide support.
(From Vanity Fair) - The two (Trump and Fiorina) would later go on to spar about their respective records in business: Fiorina’s difficult tenure at H.P., and Trump’s bankruptcy in Atlantic City.
Fiorina’s response to Trump’s “face” comment prompted one of two big applause breaks she earned in a short span of time. Following back-and-forths among the candidates on the stage regarding the Iranian nuclear agreement and whether defunding Planned Parenthood was worth shutting down the government, Fiorina decided that she “would like to link the issues.”
Sorry but "Gentle Ben" is boring. |
“Both are incredibly important: Iran and Planned Parenthood,” she said. “One has something to do with the defense of security of this nation. The other has something to do with the defense of the character of this nation. You haven't heard a plan about Iran from any politician up here.”
She continued, suggesting that she would call Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamanei—which would mark a striking shift in relations between the United States and Iran.
“Here is my plan. On day one I will make two phone calls, the first to my good friend Bibi Netanyahu, and [then the Supreme Leader of Iran] and tell him that unless and until he opens every military and every nuclear facility to any time, anywhere inspections by our people—not his—we, the United States of America, will make it as difficult as possible, and move money around the global financial system. We can do that, we don't need anyone’s cooperation to do it, and every ally and adversary in the world will know that the United States is back in the leadership business, which is how we must stand with allies.”
She then pivoted back to Planned Parenthood, dipping into an emphatic cadence as she discussed a series of controversial undercover videos:
“With regard to Planned Parenthood, anyone who has watched this videotape—I dare Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama to watch these tapes. Watch a fully formed fetus on the table—its heart beating, its legs kicking—while someone says we have to keep it alive to harvest its brain. This is about the character of our nation, and if we will in the stand up and force President Obama to veto this bill, shame on us.”
