Wind River

Two Avengers Go North

By Gary;

Wind River is certainly no Avengers.

But what can I do? I am only human and who can resist the Scarlet Witch when teamed up with Hawkeye?

Add in I am a long time fan of murder mystery films dating back to 1930s Charlie Chan flicks.

So here is a murder movie combined with Avengers Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen.  What is there not to like?

As to Wind River, beautiful photography, you can feel the snow and cold of Wyoming. But it largely stops there. In ways the movie is something of a poor man's knock off of the much better done Fargo.

You might say realism is the order of the day, and true realism can often be a bit plodding and boring.  Such is Wind River.

The actors all say their lines and do a good job, but the script is slow paced. Neither great drama nor comedy works it way on to the screen.

Average is the word that comes to mind.  It is not a bad film, but little about it shines.

I was at a 4pm Sunday showing and the theater was packed. A number of audience members were vocal during the film cheering certain scenes.  Maybe I am missing something.

The film is worth a popcorn matinee showing.

Rating  -  5 out of 10

How could I not go to a movie with both
 Hawkeye and the Scarlet Witch?

5 on 10 ... is a C + ... is not so fine indeed ... skip going out ... wait for cable , or public tv ... as piracy is not worth to call
