Law of the Sea Treaty  -  Traitors in the U.S. Senate
  • Only 34 Senators are willing to stand up against this un-Constitutional power grab.
  • Democrats and Republicans join together to give away America's wealth and give the U.N. power over our internal affairs.

The nation keeps sinking deeper and deeper into un-Constitutional authoritarianism.

The Law of the Sea Treaty undermines the Constitution itself.  Still, a bi-partisan and near 2/3s Senate majority has no problem trashing the Republic and giving the U.N. power over our affairs.

But luck for freedom lovers, the list of treaty opponents has been growing.  Constitutional Federalist Senator Jim DeMint of South, and a leader of efforts to block the treaty, announced that four more Republicans have said that they would vote against ratification: Sens. Mike Johanns of Nebraska, Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire, Rob Portman of Ohio and Johnny Isakson of Georgia.
.
“With 34 senators against the misguided treaty, LOST will not be ratified by the Senate this year,” Senator DeMint said in a statement on his website.

Dick Morris on the treaty

The Law of the Sea Treaty, which entered into force in 1994 and has been signed and ratified by 162 countries, establishes international laws governing the maritime rights of countries.

The Obama Administration is trying to jam through the Law of the Sea Treaty which would require the US to give to the UN Seabed Authority half of our royalties from offshore mining and oil drilling. It would also create a legal framework to require us to curb carbon emissions in order to reduce “thermal pollution” of the oceans.
