It is Official  -  Comrade Obama is selling out the United States to China

There is really no other explanation.  Obama rejected the oil pipeline from Canada.  Now that oil may go to China.  Obama did a face to face with the President of Brazil.  Now Brazil has signed an oil agreement with China. 

Obama is an utter failure.  An incompetent boob . . . or he knows exactly what he is doing, and he is letting the Chinese have the oil.  Incompetent boob or traitor.  Pick one.

. . . . . or, Comrade Obama wants to crush the American free market economy and the jobs it creates by cutting off our energy in order to build some new Socialist Utopia.

Prime Minister Stephen Harper, in a telephone call told Obama “Canada will continue to work to diversify its energy exports,” according to details provided by Harper’s office. Canadian Natural Resource Minister Joe Oliver said relying less on the U.S. would help strengthen the country’s “financial security", reports Bloomberg News.

The “decision by the Obama administration underlines the importance of diversifying and expanding our markets, including the growing Asian market,” Oliver told reporters in Ottawa.

Currently, 99 percent of Canada’s crude exports go to the U.S., a figure that Harper wants to reduce in his bid to make Canada a “superpower” in global energy markets.  Canada accounts for more than 90 percent of all proven reserves outside of OPEC.

Brazilian Oil to China

Less than a month after President Obama visited Brazil  to make a pitch for oil, Brazilian President Dilma Rousseff was off to Beijing to sign oil contracts with two huge state-owned Chinese companies.

It was not just a slap in Obama's face, but a savage kick in the balls too.

The deals are part of a growing oil relationship between the two countries that, thanks to a series of billion-dollar agreements, is giving China greater influence over Brazil’s oil frontier reports the Washington Times.

Petrobras also signed a memorandum of understanding with Sinochem, a massive state-owned company with interests in energy, real estate and agrichemicals.

The Sinochem deal aims to identify and build “business opportunities in the fields of exploration and production, oil commercialization and mature oil-field recovery,” according to Petrobras.

The relationship with China goes back to at least two years before Comrade Obama came to Brazil to applaud the oil discovery and tell Mrs. Rouseff:

“We want to work with you. We want to help with technology and support to develop these oil reserves safely, and, when you’re ready to start selling, we want to be one of your best customers.”

Big Brother  -  The Chinese Communist Party is aggressively censoring TV, the internet and demanding worship of the Party.

• The Communist Party issued "guidelines" that limit programming it deems too frivolous, too sexy or too irreverent.

Big Brother was at the biggest show on earth - the Chinese New Year's Gala broadcast on state controlled TV.

The show is CCTV's annual five-hour program of dancing, singing, comedy, magic tricks, propaganda and kitsch. CCTV claims that more than 90% of the Chinese population watches the show, making it by far the most popular in China and one of the most watched television programs in the world.

But in a growing crackdown, the Communist Party is censoring the Gala and all other programming on TV.

Last year, the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television issued a series of guidelines that limit programming it deems too frivolous, too sexy or too irreverent, reducing much of CCTV's content to blandness.

This year, some of China's most popular entertainers have dropped out or refused to appear in the gala.

Communist propaganda from last year's show:

• A singer in a low-cut red dress belted out "The Flag Is Brighter," with lyrics praising the Communist Party while dancers unfurled red banners around her.
• Break-dancers dressed as migrant construction workers did a routine to a revolutionary ballad, "We Workers Have Strength."
• Dancers dressed as Mongolians, Tibetans, Uighurs and other minorities twirled to a song called "Big Happy Family."

This is the most censored show on Chinese television," said Wu Renchu, a film critic based in Shanghai. He said the gala acts must go through three rounds of approval. 

"There is more and more ideology and less entertainment. It is all about praising the achievements of the party and the nation. With stand-up comedy, you can't have anything that touches on the reality of life in China."

China's most famous female comic, Song Dandan, protested that she wouldn't appear on the gala "unless they arrest me, sentence me.... I really don't want to go."

Although CCTV's own research trumpets the more than 90% viewership statistic, a poll last year found the number closer to 70%, and another survey found that only about 15% of viewers liked the show.

Inmates are attracted to Islam by the chance of getting better food and a more comfortable life in prison.

A third of inmates at one of Britain’s most notorious youth jails are Muslims and the religion is attracting a large number  of converts.

There are 229 Muslims out of a total of 686 youngsters detained at Feltham Young Offenders’ Institution in West London, according to Ministry of Justice figures.

There are now so many worshippers at Friday prayers that they have to be split between Feltham’s mosque and its gym reports the UK Daily Mail.

Muslim prisoners 'radicalized' in UK jails

Sources claim that converts  are attracted by the chance of better food and a more comfortable regime.  But there are also fears that some are being radicalized.

During Ramadan, Muslim prisoners are given food in separate hot and cold containers so they can eat what they choose at the end of their daylight fast.

A source revealed: ‘Over the last few years there has been  a huge surge in those attending Muslim services.

‘The popularity of the faith has surprised people. We are seeing  a large number of inmates converting to Islam.'

Prison insiders say most non-Muslims are locked up during Friday prayers because so many guards are needed to monitor the lunchtime service.

For example from the recent GOP debate:

GINGRICH:   "Now, let me be quite clear. Let me be quite clear.  The story is false.  Every personal friend I have who knew us in that period says the story was false.  We offered several of them to ABC to prove it was false.  They weren't interested, because they would like to attack any Republican."

Pure 100% Bull Shit.  The South Carolina mouth-breathers failed to understand the silver-tongue lies pouring from this bastard's mouth.  No "friend" of Newt's would have ever been witness to a private husband - wife conversation on having an open marriage. 

This was a lie pure and simple.  Newt's carefully worded attack on the media was designed to throw meaningless red meat at a non-thinking partisan crowd.

Character Matters

Newt the Total Failure:   Republican fail to see that Newt was a total failure as Speaker.  Under the Constitution the House might be considered the most powerful branch of government.  Every dime that is spent MUST first come from the House.  As Speaker of the House, Gingrich had his day in the sun and he was a failure.

• Not one meaningful Big Government spending program was abolished.
• Not one Federal employee was laid off.
• Not one dollar was cut from the budget.

In his more or less "balancing" of the budget, all Newt did was slow the rate of growth of Federal spending.  Wow.  Newt slowed the rate of growth.  Well big fucking-loop-de-loo.

Non-thinkers do not question the BS of the GOP propaganda machine on the great things Republicans did in the 1990s.  But for anyone who believes in small government Constitutional Federalism the record of Newt's GOP House speaks for itself.  The Republicans laid a big fat turd.

CNN attempts to exclude Ron Paul

A remarkable scene unfolded during last night’s CNN hosted South Carolina debate when not once but twice, the audience had to intervene to ensure that Ron Paul be included in questions, as host John King attempted to skip over the Congressman following answers from the other three candidates.

Even more remarkable was the fact that both times the questions were related to medical issues and Dr. Ron Paul is the only qualified doctor among all the candidates reports Infowars.

When it came to two key questions it was left to the audience to remind the CNN anchors that Ron Paul was up on the stage and that voters wanted to hear him speak.

The first instance occurred when King somewhat reluctantly threw Ron Paul the question “would you repeal Obamacare?” following answers from the rest of the field.

To wild ironic cheering and whooping from the audience acknowledging that Ron Paul had finally been included in the question, the Congressman exclaimed “PHEW, I thought maybe you were prejudiced against doctors and the doctor that practiced medicine in the military or something!”

The second instance of CNN completely ignoring Paul occurred when King attempted to switch subjects from the issue of abortion without asking for Ron Paul’s thoughts.

“All right, let’s take another question,” King said after hearing from the other three candidates only. “Let’s take a question now from social media…”

Only when the audience began to boo and jeer, asking for Ron Paul to be afforded the opportunity to answer, did King allow the Congressman to speak.

“…before we move on, you want in on this issue?” King said to Paul, “They want you in on this issue…” King added, addressing the audience.

“John, once again, it’s a medical subject. I’m a doctor,” Paul protested, drawing cheers from the crowd before giving his thoughts

Islamist coup stopped in Bangladesh



An Islamist military coup has been prevented by the army in Bangladesh.


The Bangladesh army said it had foiled an Islamist conspiracy against Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government.


"Anyone who attempts to overthrow the democratic system will be traced... none will be spared," minister Syed Ashraful Islam told the BBC.

Bangladesh has a history of military governments. The army ran the country for 15 years until 1990.

Sheikh Hasina took over power from a military-backed caretaker government in early 2009. Officials say she has since faced threats from Islamists and other radical groups.

The Prime Minister has enacted a series of reforms since taking power that have made some Bangladeshis unhappy. She has cracked down on religious extremism, prosecuted alleged war criminals, improved relations with India and rewrote the constitution, introducing more secular policies.

Hasina is the daughter of former President Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who was assassinated in 1975 during a military coup four years after he led a war of secession from Pakistan. Hasina and her chief rival Khaleda Zia of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party have dominated the country’s politics for more than a decade.

Bangladesh army foils Islamist coup ‎

"Action will be taken against them as per army regulations," Mr Islam, who is also a senior leader of the ruling Awami League party, told the BBC's Anbarasan Ethirajan in Dhaka.

"We might have differences of opinion, but there is no difference of opinion in the case of democracy. So it is the duty of all to protect the democratic system."

Military officials said that the officers planning the coup were in active military service and had "extreme religious views".

A group of up to 16 hard-line Islamist military officers - including at least two retired officers - were involved.

Some have been detained and officials say they will be presented before a military court.


Some 89% of the 142,000,000 people
in Bangladesh are Muslim.



2009 Mutiny

A border security force, the Bangladesh Rifles, mutinied in 2009 over guards’ pay and working conditions. The rebels killed 63 army officers before the military suppressed the revolt and arrested hundreds of force members over subsequent months.

“Political tensions have continued over the trials of the rebels,” Rahman said. The government tried 666 members of the border guards in a single proceeding in June, convicting all but nine in a process that the New York-based group Human Rights Watch said failed to meet international standards for a fair trial.

Bangladesh’s history of military intervention makes it “vulnerable to these coup attempts,” said Ataur Rahman, a political science professor at Dhaka University.

Still, “a coup with an Islamic militant orientation would be a surprise,” Rahman said in a telephone interview from the capital. While researching the officer corps, Rahman said he had “not found that Islamic militant views or socialization are widespread.”

Shanghai, China was at the top and Sacramento, California near the bottom of new rankings of the world's best- and worst-performing metropolitan economies last year by the Brookings Institution.

The basis for Shanghai's No. 1 ranking was employment growth of 5.8% and a metro economy expanding 9.8% from 2010 to 2011.

In contrast, Sacramento had America's worst ranking, a lowly No. 196. Brookings said the area was in "full recession" last year with both employment and the region's equivalent of gross domestic product down about 1%.

The rankings of the 200 largest metro areas that account for nearly half of the entire global economy underscore how the Great Recession has accelerated the shift in economic strength from the West to the East, and from industrialized countries to developing nations in Asia and South America.

Greater metro Istanbul's nearly 14,000,000 people are seeing
a huge expansion of their economy, jobs and wealth.

Some 90% of the world's fastest-growing economies were outside North America and Western Europe. And 95% of the weakest-performing metro areas were in the long-dominant economic powers of the U.S., Western Europe and Japan.

"Now what's happening in Shanghai, Beijing and Chongqing are more and more important for the global economy," said Alan Berube, senior fellow at the Washington think tank, who co-wrote the study based on data from Oxford Economics, Moody's Analytics and the Census Bureau.

Unrest forces China to increase minimum wages

A 23% increase in wages in one province


China is raising minimum wages in some key cities and provinces as local officials try to combat labor shortages and growing worker unrest.

The southern city of Shenzhen, a major manufacturing center on the border with Hong Kong, will raise its minimum wage by nearly 14 percent to 1,500 yuan ($238) from February, according to a statement.

Authorities in the capital Beijing raised wages by almost 9 percent to 1,260 yuan from Jan. 1, while the southwest province of Sichuan also hiked wages by at least 23 percent, the official Xinhua news agency said.

The moves follow a series of strikes across China since November, as workers protest low salaries, wage cuts and poor conditions amid company cutbacks due to the global economic slowdown.

Persistently high inflation - which peaked at a three-year-high of 6.5 percent in July last year but has since retreated - has also cut into people’s spending power.

In the latest strike, some 2,000 steel workers in Sichuan’s provincial capital of Chengdu walked off the job  to protest low salaries, according to the U.S.-based rights group China Labor Watch.

The Obama Food Stamp Nation

Bi-Partisan Socialism  -  Newt is right about Obama being The Food Stamp President . . . BUT . . .

• Yes, Comrade Obama has been happy to re-distribute the wealth and massively expand food stamps.
• But "small government" Republican President George Bush (backed by the GOP Congress) expanded food stamp eligibility with the 2002 farm bill and increased by 10.9 million those getting food stamps. 
• Both political parties want to steal your money and use it to buy votes from their supporters. 

At the South Carolina GOP primary debate a Big Government Newt Gingrich noted that "more people have been put on food stamps under Barack Obama than any other President in history."

That is true to a point.  It is good red meat for the non-thinking mouth-breathers in the audience.

According to the U.S. Department of Agriculture's latest data, a record 44.7 million people participated in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program in fiscal 2011 at a $75.3 billion cost to taxpayers. That's up from 28.2 million and $37.6 billion in 2008.

Some four million people are now on food stamps in Texas, with California (3.7 million) and Florida (3.1 million) close behind. In absolute numbers, President Obama has presided over a food stamp boom, reports the Wall Street Journal.

Republican Food Stamp Expansion 

President George W. Bush expanded food stamp eligibility with the egregious 2002 farm bill by adjusting deductions and income tests and encouraging states to find more participants.

The fact of the matter is the left-wing Republican Party has been voting to spend other people's money like mad men for decades.  Republicans talk small government, but they have never met a government spending program they did not support and vote to fund.

The Pelosi Congress then re-branded the program in the Food, Conservation, and Energy Act of June 2008 to emphasize nutrition rather than the stigma of receiving handouts.  Bush never bothered to veto the law or veto any spending bills.  The #1 priority for both parties is to steal your tax dollars and use them to buy votes.

As a result and also thanks to the recession in 2008, food stamp participation rose by 10.9 million across the Bush Presidency.

But Comrade Obama is now outstripping that dubious achievement, and in only three years rather than eight. The 2009 stimulus bill increased maximum benefits and authorized more money for states to administer the program. Some 11.2 million more people have joined the rolls from 2009 through 2011, including 4.4 million last year during what was ostensibly an economic recovery.

Texas Republican Congressman Pete Sessions, a top member of the House GOP leadership, received a VIP mortgage from defunct lender Countrywide Financial Corp., making him the fourth current member of the House who has acknowledged getting a sweetheart deal.

Sessions’ office would not comment on the amount of the loan or when it was issued, although press reports state that it was a 2007 transaction worth as much as $1 million. The loan does not appear on any of Sessions’ annual financial disclosure reports on file with the House Clerk’s office. Lawmakers and senior aides must file such reports each year, but they are allowed to leave off information regarding personal homes or property that do not generate any income reports Politico.

• Sen. Kent Conrad (D-N.D.)
• Sen. Christopher Dodd (D-Conn.)
• Reps. Ed Towns (D-N.Y.)
• Reps. Elton Gallegly (R-Calif.)
• Reps. Buck McKeon (R-Calif.)

The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that McKeon, chairman of the Armed Services Committee and a close ally of Speaker John Boehner’s (R-Ohio), received a special $315,000 loan from Countrywide in the late 1990s. Gallegly, who recently announced he would retire from Congress at the end of this year, got a $77,000 loan.

No charges were ever filed against the two Senators.  Altogether, about 30 loans from the Countrywide VIP program went to senators or staff reported the Senate Ethics Committee in July 2010.
