A Norwegian woman could spend up to three years in prison for saying that men are not able to be lesbians.

On November 17, Tonje Gjevjon was told that she was being investigated by the police over hate speech because of a Facebook post that criticized men who said they were lesbians.

Gjevjon is a lesbian artist who has faced intense pushback for standing up for women. In her post, she also criticized transgender activists who try to prosecute women who are against gender ideology.

COVID 1984 Measures Totally Lifted By Government

(ZeroHedge)  On Friday, the Norwegian government announced that most of the last remaining coronavirus restrictions would be scrapped from Saturday, and life would return to normal with “increased preparedness”.

Prime Minister Erna Solberg announced on Friday that from tomorrow 4pm, most of the final remaining national Covid-19 measures in Norway would be dropped.

“Now we can live almost as we did before the pandemic hit us. I do not think everything will be as before. I think the coronavirus will affect us for the rest of our lives, for better or worse. We have learned how vulnerable we are and how much we can achieve when we stand together,” Solberg told a press conference on Friday.

The decision to lift measures such as social distancing was based on advice from the Norwegian Institute of Public Health (NIPH) and the Norwegian Directorate of Health. In addition, limits on numbers at gatherings will also be axed, and rules stopping venues letting in guests past midnight will be repealed, and club-goers will be able to hit dance floors once again.

“The NIPH and the Norwegian Directorate of Health gave us advice on Monday that it will be possible to switch to normal everyday life around the turn of the month. The positive development has continued this week, and that is the reason why the government – after a thorough assessment – has concluded that tomorrow at 4pm, we will move on to normal everyday life.

COPENHAGEN, Denmark (AP) — The Norwegian Intelligence Service says GPS signal disruption as seen during major NATO drills in Norway last year “is of particular concern” for the military and “is also a threat to civil aviation in peacetime.”

The intelligence agency said Monday in its annual report that the signal jamming “represents not only a new challenge” for NATO members, but saying Russia’s ability to projects its power “in peace, crisis and war will increase.”

Norway and Finland have protested against the incident during NATO’s Trident Juncture drills between Oct. 25 and Nov. 7, with Oslo saying Russian forces on the Arctic Kola peninsula were behind the GPS interference. Moscow denies any involvement.

The GPS jamming isn’t believed to have caused any accidents.

(Telegraph)  -  Two Scandinavian tourists killed in Morocco’s Atlas Mountains were the victims of a terrorist attack, prosecutors believe.

One man has been arrested following the discovery on Monday of the bodies of 24-year-old Louisa Vesterager Jespersen, from Denmark, and Maren Ueland, 28, from Norway.

One of the women had been beheaded, a source told AFP.
Both had been mutilated. Investigators say they were both sexually assaulted.

A suspect in the murder was arrested in Marrakech on Tuesday, and was known to have ties to radical Islamist terror networks.

Police are hunting for three other suspects.

Boubker Sabik, a police spokesman, said terrorism was suspected and that the three suspects on the run had been "identified and a search for them is under way by all the security services".

One of the three had "a court record linked to terrorist acts", he said, while the prosecutor general's office said the man in custody also belonged to an extremist group.

The women's bodies were found in an isolated area near Imlil, on the way to Toubkal, North Africa's highest peak and a popular hiking destination.

Investigations are also continuing to authenticate a video tape shared on social media claiming to show the killing of one of the tourists, the General Prosecutor said in a statement.

State broadcaster 2M released photos and videos yesterday (WEDS) of forensic investigators and others working around the women's brightly coloured tent on a rocky hillside. The broadcaster said the tent held food and belongings for three people, including an ID card.

A local guide who works in the area told AFP the body of one woman was found inside the tent, and the other outside of it.

A Norwegian minister was accused of wearing a crucifix as a “prop” to promote “xenophobic” views.

In response, Sylvi Listhaug, Norway’s first Minister of Migration and Integration, argued the “liberal media” ignores facts to target right-leaning politicians after journalist Sven Egil Omdal claimed she never wore the crucifix before being appointed to her current position says Infowars.

“They have an agenda, which is attacking the right. They have no standards and they don’t care about the facts – everything is okay as long as I or the Progress Party is the target,” she said.

Listhaug is a member of the Progress Party, a right-leaning political party that is part of the coalition governing Norway along with the majority Conservative Party.

Omdal is currently a columnist for Stavanger Aftenblad, a newspaper based in the Norwegian city of Stavanger.

“She looks like a bishop even when she says that it ‘has never been something for us’ to live side by side with people from another culture,” Omdal wrote in a posting on Facebook.

“Sylvi Listhaug is almost always seen wearing the cross now, and she is always talking about how important it is for her. But I’ve been through all images in the Scanpix database in the period from 2001 to December 15, 2015, when she became immigration and integration minister.”

(Toronto Star)  -  Ten-year-old Anna Thulin-Myge’s passport shows what looks like an ordinary Norwegian girl wearing her long, blond hair fastened with a clip. It lists her first name as Anna, but under sex it says “M.”

“That means male,” Anna says, running her finger across the document. “In some weeks I’m going to have a new passport, and then it’s going to say ‘F.’”

Norway, a wealthy, progressive nation of 5 million people, recently became the fifth country in the world to allow adults to legally change genders without a doctor’s agreement or intervention. Argentina, Ireland and Denmark have similar laws. But only Malta and Norway have extended the liberalized rules to children.

Provided they have parental consent, Norwegian children as young as 6 can now self-identify as male or female, effectively overruling the gender assigned to them at birth. Anna is one of nine minors in the country to have taken advantage since the new rules were adopted in June.

With no requirement for surgery or counselling, the process is as easy as filing a tax return. So far, Norway has not refused a single application. Soon, Anna will receive the official letter confirming the government recognizes her as the girl she always knew herself to be.

“When I was little I liked to dress up in dresses,” she says. “And play with dolls, and so I actually think that I was a girl the whole time.”

Though Norwegian lawmakers concede that some of the questions surrounding transgender children remain unsettled, the law generated little controversy when it was introduced. Parliament members from left to right approved the legislation in June on a 79-13 vote.

(UK Independent)  -  Islamists in Norway claim to have formed a 'Soldiers of Allah' group in response to the rise of the right-wing vigilante group the Soldiers of Odin.

Norwegian newspaper VG quoted Islamist sources in Oslo as saying the new group, officially calling itself Jundullaah, would patrol the streets of the capital.

"In response to the infidel group Soldiers of Odin patrols, we Muslims have chosen to create a group that will patrol the streets, first in Oslo, to prevent evil and encourage the good," VG quoted its source as saying.

There were also claims that the Soldiers of Allah would wear a black hoodie decorated with black Islamic State flags as their official uniform.

Norwegian police have not commented on the group.

Named after the Norse god, the Soldiers of Odin were formed in Finland but spread to Norway this year.

The group describes itself as "patriotic" and uses anti-immigration rhetoric.

Its members are often seen wearing black coats bearing the group's insignia, and have been spotted patrolling the streets in some of Norway's major cities.

(International Business Times)  -  The Estonian defence minister warned people not to join the vigilante Soldiers of Odin, after the anti-immigrant group announced plans to hold a torchlit procession through the capital Tallinn.

"Those eager to contribute to the security of the society should side with police voluntary helpers, which stand guard over the values of democratic society, have fulfilled the necessary training and have no criminal past," Defence Minister Hannes Hanso said, Russia Today reported.

Founded in the Finnish town of Kemi in October, 2015, the Soldiers of Odin group derives its name from the Norse god of war, and calls itself "a patriotic organisation that fights for a white Finland" to counter crime by "Islamist intruders". In the wake of the sex attacks in Cologne and other European cities in the new year, its popularity soared, with branches also emerging in Norway and Germany.

On Tuesday, 17 February, the group announced on its Facebook page that it had up to 5,000 members in Estonia, and called for volunteers who are willing "to step out for the defence of our own people in the face of strangers." It announced plans to hold a mass gathering of members in Tallinn on 24 February.

The Estonian branch declared itself apolitical, and said only Muslims, those under-18, and those with criminal records involving offences against women and children were barred from joining. It said it plans to set up groups of 10-20 vigilantes in several Estonian cities.

Estonia, which has a population of 1.3 million, has accepted fewer than 1,000 asylum-seekers since the 1990s, and though it has agreed to accept 550 migrants under the EU's relocation plan a single person in the quota has yet to arrive.

(Western Journalism)  -  As reports of mass molestation and assaults by refugees continue to surface, the general response among those in Western Europe has been to kindly educate said refugees on acceptable behavior and to warn law abiding citizens against provocation.

Apparently, Russia didn’t get the memo.

When a group of 51 refugees were expelled from Norway for “bad behavior,” they decided to make their way to Russia. What they didn’t know is that the Russian system of justice is seemingly far less tolerant and far more painful than that of their European neighbors.

After groping and harassing several women at a nightclub in Murmansk, the group of refugees was taken aside by a few Russian men and informed that “Cologne is 2,500 kilometers south of here.” But the lesson didn’t stop with the not so subtle jab against the Germans.

Before the refugees had a chance to flee, the Russian men took them out to the street and gave them the beating some might say they deserved. Although police arrived to break up the fight, local reports claim that the officers threw a few punches of their own.

In total, 33 refugees were arrested, but 18 were in such bad condition they had to be taken to a hospital for treatment. To add insult to injury, no charges were filed against the Russians who inflicted the beating.

A course manual sets out a simple rule that all asylum seekers need to learn and follow: "To force someone into sex is not permitted in Norway, even when you are married to that person." 

Many refugees "come from cultures that are not gender equal and where women are the property of men," Mr. Isdal said. 
The first such program to teach immigrants about local norms and how to avoid misreading social signals was initiated in Stavanger, the center of Norway's oil industry and a magnet for migrants, after a series of rapes from 2009 to 2011.

According to the state broadcaster, NRK, which reviewed court documents, only three of 20 men found guilty in those cases were native Norwegians, the rest immigrants. A 2011 report by Norway's state statistical bureau noted that "immigrants are overrepresented in the crime statistics" but suggested that this was not due to cultural differences but because many of the immigrants were young men.

... teaching material studiously avoids casting migrants in a bad light and instead presents a fictional character called Arne, a native Norwegian, as a model of predatory behavior. The main immigrant character, a 27-year-old called Hassan, is, by contrast, introduced as a "good man" who is "honest and well liked."

Why are immigrants even being taught at all, given that the training materials suggest that people named Arne are obviously more likely to commit rape than someone named Hassan?  How does one pass such an "anti-rape" course?  What does it mean if a Muslim immigrant gets a "C" in an anti-rape course?

Because of political correctness, neither the Times nor Norway wants to put the blame on Muslim refugees.  But that's clearly where the problem is. They come from cultures that don't respect women the way at least Republican men in America do.

Some Islamist fighters from Norway are believed to have taken leading positions within Islamic States, according to the Norwegian Intelligence Service chief. A hundred and fifty Norwegians are thought to be fighting along terrorists in Syria and Iraq.

“We believe that some of the Norwegians in Isil [Isis] have risen to middle-management functions,” Kjell Grandhagen, the head of the Norwegian Intelligence Service, told Dagbladet newspaper.

“There are still several Norwegians who hold leadership positions in Isil,” Grandhagen told the newspaper.

He gave the example of ISIS commander Bastian Vasquez, a Norwegian of Chilean extraction who was reportedly killed in the fall, and an unnamed Norwegian of Eritrean parentage also known as an ISIS commander. A hundred and fifty Norwegians have joined ISIS according to the police authorities, Dagbladet reports.

Kjell Grandhagen claims Norwegians fighting for the ISIS were radicalized in the Profetens Ummah group which is active in eastern Norway close to the capital Oslo reports RT News.

He explains it is a great threat to Norway as Norwegians who get combat experience in Syria and Iraq can use it back in their native country. Being in ISIS-controlled territory they are in touch with radicals from other countries, and in the future they can easily return to Norway as they possess valid passports and then commit a terrorist act or form an Islamist cell.

“We believe there is a significant terrorist danger against Norway,” the intelligence chief said. “There is a danger with returnees who can form cells in the West. And there is the psychological impact - people who are attracted by ideology, but who never even been in Iraq or Syria, which is calling for action and then perform it with the funds are available.”

• The Autonomous Rotorcraft Sniper System (ARSS) is an experimental robotic weapons system being developed by the U.S. Army since 2005. It consists of a remotely operated sniper rifle attached to an unmanned autonomous helicopter.

(Wired.com)  -  Stopping the pirates of Somalia hasn’t been easy. But when the navies of the worldhave repelled or killed the hijackers, it’s often involved three elements: helicopters, drones and trained snipers. The U.S. Army is working on a weapon which combines all three.

It’s called the Autonomous Rotorcraft Sniper System. It mounts a powerful rifle onto highly stabilized turret, and fixes the package on board a Vigilante unmanned helicopter. I describe the system in this month’s Popular Mechanics.

The system is intended for the urban battlefield — an eye in the sky that can stare down concrete canyons, and blink out targets with extreme precision. Attempting to return fire against the ARSS is liable to be a near-suicidal act: ARSS is described as being able to fire seven to 10 aimed shots per minute, and it’s unlikely to miss.

The Norwegian government is set to develop a new controversial robot-controlled missile for its fighter jets, but faces opposition from MPs and peace organizations claiming the technology may break international law.

The partially autonomously controlled missiles, or so-called "killer robots", will be used for airborne strikes for its new fighter jets and have the ability to identify targets and make decisions to kill without human interference.

The Norwegian Peace League, for one, believe the technology may violate international law, wanting a parliamentary debate about the move reports The Local.

Alexander Harang of the Norwegian Peace League (Norges Fredslag) demands discussion . He is also a member for the international “Campaign to stop killer robots”.

 

Norway is one of many countries developing weapons that can operate without human control or surveillance.

Ronny Lie, communications director at Kongsberg Gruppen, wrote in an email to NTB: “Remotely controlled solutions for demanding civilian and military tasks have become increasingly more important during the last years. The Norwegian high-tech industry needs to join this development.”
