(Agence France-Presse) - A controversial suicide pod that enables its occupant to kill themselves at a press of a button went on display at Amsterdam funeral show on Saturday. Called the "Sarco", short for sarcophagus, the 3D-printed machine invented by Australian euthanasia activist Philip Nitschke and Dutch designer Alexander Bannink comes with a detachable coffin, mounted on a stand that contains a nitrogen canister. "The person who wants to die presses the button and the capsule is filled with nitrogen. He or she will feel a bit dizzy but will then rapidly lose consciousness and die," said Nitschke, who has been dubbed "Dr Death" for his work to legalise euthanasia. The "Sarco" is a device "to provide people with a death when they wish to die," Nitschke told AFP. The inventors put a model of the device on display, together with a set of virtual reality glasses to give visitors a true-to-life experience of what it would be like to sit in the pod, before ultimately pressing the button. Nitschke said he aimed to build the first fully-functioning pod before the end of the year. After that, the design will be put online as an open-source document for people to download. "That means that anybody who wants to build the machine can download the plans and 3D-print their own device," Nitschke said.

(Washington Times) - Sen. Lindsey Graham, one of those in the meeting Thursday where President Trump reportedly called some developing nations “sh—hole” countries, used similar language himself during the last big immigration debate, calling Mexico and other Latin American nations “hellholes.”
The South Carolina Republican was arguing for the need for stiffer enforcement to stop a new wave of illegal immigrants, blaming the jobs magnet for enticing millions of people to flee their home countries for the U.S.
“The people coming across the southern border live in hellholes. They don’t like that. They want to come here. Our problem is we can’t have everybody in the world who lives in a hellhole come to America,” Mr. Graham said during a 2013 debate in the Judiciary Committee on an immigration bill he co-authored.
The senator continued: “There are 11 million people coming through the southern border ‘cause they come from countries where they can’t find work, and life is miserable. So it seems to me that if you can control who gets a job you’ve gone a long way in controlling illegal immigration. Because as long as the jobs are available in America you can’t build a fence high enough to stop people.”

I am still shocked by the growth of this little hobby Blog of mine.
The Federalist was started way back in May, 2011. I had this crazy idea of trying to cover the news from a Constitutional Federalist point of view . . . a point of view that has become nearly extinct in the modern American political system that worships Big Brother more than George Washington. This is not The Drudge Report with its billions of page views. This is only a little hobby Blog of mine to scream out to an often deaf world the ideas of Constitutional Liberty.
I figured that few would care and even fewer would come back a second time. I was wrong.
Back in May, 2011 we stared with a "massive" 834 page views for the month. But even that number staggered me considering the rather primitive nature of the site.
By July, 2011 we had jumped up to 5,413 page views for the month. By February, 2012 we had shot up to 27,220 page views. We have only grown from there. In August, 2017 we hit another high reaching 173,345 page views for the month.
For the growth of this Blog thank yous go to Comrade Obama and the open borders big government loving Republican Party. Without both of these bands of loons I would not have a fraction of the material I need to publish.

The election year of 2016 was bad. We saw virtually the entire "Conservative" Republican Party either sit on their hands or openly root for the corrupt Hildabeast. Only the rank and file Conservatives wanted Trump.
January 20th proved nothing changed. This last year we saw a battle between the few Trump Nationalists out there against an alliance of the corrupt open borders Oligarchs of the GOP and Leftist Democrats. From day one the GOP run Congress deliberately held endless Russia hearings in attempts to entrap and jail Trump, his family and his supporters.
Judge Jeanine Pirro said there is a "subtle Republican plot" to bring down Trump and install another establishment Republican president similar to George Bush or like warmonger Sen. John McCain. Personally I don't think the plot is all that subtle. GOP officeholders openly piss on our President and his Nationalist supporters at every opportunity. There was one ray of hope in 2017. The GOP was finally shamed into acting on taxes after dragging their feet kicking and screaming all year on issue after issue. . So where do we go from here? I don't know. All I do know is the madness of man never ends. The Donald will try to bring some sanity back to government only to be opposed by "Conservative friends" and Leftist enemies alike.

Two Islamist men barged into the Carmelite Verdun monastery late last week during evening prayers in which they told the nuns to convert to Islam or go to hell. The two men were described as being in their thirties and both sporting beards and are said to have prayed in Arabic while the nuns were conducting their evening prayers. The pair also signed the guestbook of the monastery writing “Allah u Ackbar” though there were no reports of any violence taking place L’Est Républicainreports. The German Ethics Council has called for the repeal of the prohibition of incest between siblings. In a statement released on Wednesday, the majority of the council's members requested that consensual sexual relations between siblings of legal age should no longer be a crime.
Among other things, the council argued that the risk of genetic impairment to a child born from an incestuous relationship doesn't completely warrant the current ban and that the social taboos remain even without an implemented law.
A spokeswoman for Angela Merkel's CDU party, Elisabeth Winkelmeier-Becker, responded to the Ethics Council's vote saying that the abolition of the law against incest would give out the wrong signal reports DW News.
"Abolishing criminal punishment against incestuous actions within a family would go completely against protecting the undisturbed development of children," she added.
According to section 173 of the German criminal code, sexual relations between siblings or between parents and their children is forbidden. The Ethic Council voted on the matter due to a case of two siblings from the eastern German city of Leipzig.
The brother and sister in question, Patrick and Susan, (pictured above), were not brought up together and first met at the age of 24 and 16, respectively. After becoming a couple, they went on to have four children.
In 2008, Patrick was convicted for his sexual relationship with his sister, who was only allowed to keep their youngest child. The Leipzig man appealed against his conviction in the German Federal Constitutional Court in 2008 and the European Court of Human Rights in 2012 - both of which reaffirmed the illegality of incest in German law.
As a result, the majority of 25 Ethics Council members, including Chairman Christiane Woopen, have called for the repeal of section 173. These 14 members voting in favor of the change believe the Leipzig case was an unjustified interference in the sexual self-determination between two adult siblings in a consensual relationship.
"Of all the views that the German Ethics Council has presented, this is the first to directly touch upon a deeply-rooted taboo in society," said Woopen.
Nine members of the Ethics Council voted for continued adherence to the ban, highlighting the importance of roles within a family, which they say incest threatens to destabilize. Two members of the Ethics Council abstained from the vote.
A non-profit organization has installed the country’s first-ever crack pipe vending machines in Vancouver in a new bid to halt the spread of disease in the city’s Downtown Eastside.
The Portland Hotel Society has been operating two of the machines – which dispense Pyrex crack pipes in exchange for just $0.25 – in the Washington Market and the PHS’s Drug Users Resource Centre for the last six months.
“For us, this was about increasing access to safer inhalation supplies in the Downtown Eastside,” said Kailin See, director of the DURC reports CTV News.
Though many programs provide pipes for drug users in the neighborhood, it’s usually on a one pipe per person per day basis, according to See. Vending machines allow addicts to purchase as many as they need, with each $0.25 per pipe barely covering production costs.
“They don’t run the risk of then sharing pipes, or pipes that are chipped or broken,” See said. “Everything from flu, colds, cold sores, HIV: If you cut your lip on a pipe that someone else has been using, there are risks there.”
Appearance-wise, the machines don’t look much different than a regular vending machine. Covered in colourful polka dots, the only indication these aren’t your run-of-the-mill snack machines is a blue sign at the top that reads “PIPES” in bold red lettering, and, of course, the pipes inside.
“It looks funny, and that’s kind of part of it,” See said. “It’s making this not look like a scary or stigmatized thing. This is a very important thing for the community and we thought we wanted to make it look really snazzy.”
Mariner Janes, the manager of the PHS’ mobile needle exchange, said the concept took about a year-and-a-half of production until the machines were debuted.
So far, response from the DTES community has been positive.
“Through and through, the people that are using the machine and need the pipes are kind of in dire need of the supplies, and really it’s a health care kind of item,” he said. “The pipes on the streets themselves can get very expensive, just because they’re kind of scarce.”
See said the machine at the drug users center routinely sells out every week.

California high school students are told it is "racist" to chant "USA, USA" during a basketball game.
Students Told to Remove Patriotic Bandanas
High school children were suspended by idiot administrators for daring to be patriotic.
A group of students at a California high school basketball game were told to remove patriotic bandanas and stop chanting “USA, USA” because school administrators wanted to be "sensitive" to other spectators.
The incident occurred during a basketball last week between Camarillo High School and Rio Mesa High School in Ventura County, California.
A school administrator pulled aside four boys and told them to either remove their American flag bandanas or leave the game. The boys complied but returned to lead the crowd in a chant of “USA, USA.”
Camarillo High School principal Glenn Lipman told the Ventura County Starthat the students were told to remove the bandanas as a “precaution” – because the two schools have “diverse student bodies.”
Both schools have a large Hispanic student population. I guess Hispanics are somehow not Americans?
Student Austin Medeiros and the other boys were suspended for their actions – but the punishment was later lifted by school officials.
Still, students are upset over what happened and staged a protest at the school’s flagpole by wearing red, white and blue.
So-called "Educators" prove once again that they are fucking idiots.
“We’ve done it always,” Medeiros told the Ventura County Star. “It’s something we do. It’s the same group of friends. We’re all very patriotic.”
But Gabe Soumakian, the superintendent of the Oxnard Union School District, told Fox News there were “racial overtones” to the chant.
“There was symbolism there with the bandana and the chant,” he said.
“It has nothing to do with being patriotic or unpatriotic,” Soumakian said. “it has to do with the fact that they are making a chant regarding that we are from the USA and you’re not. Whether that’s the implied intent, that’s the way it comes across.”
Soumakian said the “USA” chant does not comply with state athletic guidelines.
“It talks about pursuing victory with honor,” he told Fox News. “You’re supposed to chant for your team.”
As for the principal’s concerns about racial overtones – the superintendent said he had the same fears.
“We wanted to make sure whatever was being cheered was appropriate,” he said. “We are responding to a global issue in terms of how students should be respecting the other school.”
Medeiros, along with many other students, took to Twitter to weigh in on the fall-out.
“I will always be proud of where I come from and what my flag represents,” he tweeted. “No matter what anyone tells me! I stand up for what I believe in!”
The superintendent believes this is a “teachable moment” for the entire school.
“They have to respect everyone,” he said. “When you go to a game – you cheer for your team and you don’t make any derogatory comments or make inappropriate comments toward the other team.”
Angry residents are posting their thoughts on social networking sites like YouTube.

It’s not the first time patriotic clothing has caused a school controversy in California. In 2010 a group of students at Live Oak High School in Morgan Hill were banned from wearing American flag t-shirts on Cinco de Mayo.
A federal court later ruled in favor of the school district – saying concerns over possible violence justified censoring the pro-American message.

A Federal judge awarded more than $700,000 in legal fees to the team of lawyers who represented Michelle Kosilek, the convicted murderer who sued the state for a sex change operation to treat her gender identity disorder.
Chief US District Judge Mark L. Wolf said from the bench in court in Boston that he recognized the cost to taxpayers, but he said the costs derived from a hard-fought lawsuit to preserve Kosilek’s constitutional rights.

He noted that while the state Department of Correction is appealing his decision to order the surgery, Kosilek’s legal team has offered to dismiss their request for legal fees if the state drops the appeal and pays for the surgery.
“Resistance at all costs can end up costing the taxpayers quite a lot,” the judge said, adding that the Department of Correction has had to pay hundreds of thousands in legal fees to lawyers in other cases in which the department violated prisoners’ constitutional rights.
“The repeated violation of constitutional rights of prisoners … costs taxpayers money that is needed for other purposes,” he said.

The Army is ordering its hardened combat veterans to wear fake breasts and empathy bellies so they can better understand how pregnant soldiers feel during physical training.
This week, 14 noncommissioned officers at Camp Zama took turns wearing the “pregnancy simulators” as they stretched, twisted and exercised during a three-day class that teaches them to serve as fitness instructors for pregnant soldiers and new mothers reports Stars and Stripes.
Army enlisted leaders all over the world are being ordered to take the Pregnancy Postpartum Physical Training Exercise Leaders Course, or PPPT, according to U.S. Army Medical Activity Japan health promotion educator Jana York.
During the training, each NCO must wear the pregnancy simulator for at least an hour.
“When they first come in, the males are typically timid and don’t feel they have the knowledge to teach female soldiers,” she said. “However, after three days their confidence rises.”
Sgt. Michael Braden, a helicopter crew chief who has served in Iraq, Afghanistan and Kosovo, said he was less than enthusiastic about taking part.
“I didn’t want to do it,” said Braden, 29, of Everett, Wash.
The 78th Aviation Battalion mechanic said he was ordered to do the training even though he doesn’t have any female soldiers in his unit and doesn’t see himself as the right sort of person to run the aerobics classes that make up a large portion of the PPPT training.
Despite his misgivings, Braden strapped on the empathy belly and spent Tuesday morning learning low-impact aerobics moves like the “grapevine” and the “V-step.”
