A suicide bomber killed 36 persons in Kaduna, Nigeria.

The tragedy in Kaduna occurred when a car loaded with an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) exploded with a suicide bomber at the busy Sardauna Crescent Junction, Kaduna killing not less than 20 people on the spot. 16 others were later confirmed dead in several hospitals less than two hours after. Several others were also injured.

Eye wirness account said five minutes before the incident, the car had approached the 1st ECWA Goodnews church, on Gwari Road close to the scene of the incident, but the desperate move by the driver to force his way through a blockade was frustrated by the Police.

The explosion dug a crater about two feet deep. It brought down the roof of Fina White Hotel.

The smell of burnt human flesh still filled the air, while officials of the Red Cross, and Federal Road Safety Corps picked up human remains into body bags. Human blood mixed with engine oil was noticed on the tarred road.

It was a gory spectacle. But it could have been worse had the intended target been hit – a church with thousands of worshippers.

How ECWA Church was spared

Mr Francis Markus, a security man attached to 1st ECWA Church, Gwari Road narrated how he innocently warded off the bomber with a few police men when he spoke to newsmen close to the Church yesterday.

He said: “It was about 10 am when I saw a man coming to this street, and said he wanted to pass. I told him that he cannot pass because the church service was going on, we don’t normally allow cars to pass when service is going on because of the insecurity in the area. I advised him to pass after the church service. He insisted that he was going to his house. Then I said which of the houses are you talking about? He pointed at that upstairs building (pointing at one storey house painted in green on the street).

And I know so many people in the house, but for him and the car, I didn’t recognize his face because I work here every Sunday. I didn’t recognize his face. I stopped him from passing through the street. But he pointed at another house, saying that, that was where he wanted to go. He came through Arochukwu Road at about 9.45am. He drove in a Honda Accord ash-coloured car.

I told him that he cannot pass through here. He accused me of violating his rights for not allowing him to go to his house. I asked him to wait till after church service before he could pass, but he insisted that he must pass. We dragged this for some minutes. He entered the car and reversed and drove towards me. Yet I stood my ground and held the iron which we used for the road block. He hit the iron against me.

“Luckily enough, one of my church members came with his bike, parked and intervened. At this point we noticed that the man was having an army uniform on the back seat of his car, and an army cap by the rear wind screen. Then I told him that as an Army officer for him to behave that way, ‘you are a disgrace to the Army. You are misbehaving.

“As we were talking, the police men that were posted to the church saw what was happening between me and the man. They walked over and helped me to drive the man away. But within three to five minutes, we heard the explosion across the road, along Junction Road. It was the same car that came here.”

Murdered by Muslims while attending Mass

A Muslim suicide bomber blew himself up outside a Catholic church in the Nigerian city of Jos, killing at least three people attending mass.

The bomber on Sunday aimed his speeding car at St Finbar's Catholic church in the city then setting off a large explosion, killing himself and at least three churchgoers, emergency agency spokesman Yushau Shuaib said.

It was the second suicide bomb attack on a church in the flashpoint city in two weeks, after a February 26 attack claimed by Islamic extremist sect Boko Haram killed three people and injured 50 as they attended a Sunday service reports the UK Telegraph.

Jos, a fault line in Nigeria's Muslim-Christian divide between north and south, was tense in the aftermath of the bombing amid fears of a reprise of deadly riots which followed last month's attack.

"There are rumours of reprisals from Christian youths, but we hope the security agents are on top of the situation as they have cordoned off the area," said Alhassan Danjuma Aliyu, local chief of the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). 

Emergency workers feared the death toll would have been higher had the bomber managed to get the vehicle closer to his target. "The bomb exploded before he could get to the church," said Shuaib.

The worst recent attack on a Catholic church came on December 25 last, when 44 people were killed during a mass to celebrate Christmas in a town outside the capital Abuja.

The Comrade Obama administration is going all out to muster support in Congress for a bipartisan cybersecurity bill co-sponsored by Republican Senator Susan Collins and Independent Senator Joseph Lieberman and Democratic Senators Jay Rockefeller and Dianne Feinstein.

Critics contend that the bill contains several provisions that represent a sweeping power grab on behalf of the federal government reports Infowars.

A measure recently added to the bill by Collins and Lieberman, and supported by Obama, would empower the Department of Homeland Security to conduct “risk assessments” of private companies in sectors deemed critical to U.S. national and economic security, forcing them to comply with expensive mandates to secure their systems.

There are a whole host of other cybersecurity bills in the works including a GOP bill, co-sponsored by Republican Senator John McCain known as The Secure IT Act, and a newly introduced GOP bill known as The Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA), sponsored by Michigan Republican Congressman Mike Rogers.

All of the bills have the same vague wording and do not clearly define what a cybersecurity threat is. This has prompted groups such as The Electronic Freedom Foundation and The Center for Democracy and Technology to speak out about what they see as legislating for broad information sharing between private companies and the government for ill-defined purposes.

“The Rogers bill gives companies a free pass to monitor and collect communications and share that data with the government and other companies, so long as they do so for ‘cybersecurity purposes,’” the EFF said in a blog post. “Just invoking ‘cybersecurity threats’ is enough to grant companies immunity from nearly all civil and criminal liability, effectively creating an exemption from all existing law.”

Kendall Burman of the Center for Democracy and Technology spoke about CISPA in an interview with RT:

“We have a number of concerns with something like this bill that creates sort of a vast hole in the privacy law to allow government to receive these kinds of information.”

Burman added that the bill, as it stands, allows the U.S. government to involve itself in any online correspondence if it believes there is reason to suspect “cyber crime”, which it does not even clearly define.

Savage fears Obama could be re-elected, noting today’s news that polls in swing states show women have moved in Obama’s direction, giving him the lead.  Women are flocking toward Obama, Savage said, because they look at the Republican field and “see a nightmare.”

British farmers could be forced to spend about £28 million revamping their pig sheds – because a new ruling from Brussels says gaps in the floors are a millimeter too wide.

Many are threatening to quit farming altogether rather than spend cash on what they call ‘millimeter madness’.  Bacon, pork and ham would all become more expensive if supplies to shops were disrupted as a result reports the UK Daily Mail.

Animal welfare chiefs in Brussels believe this will stop pigs catching their feet and falling down.  But farmers and vets say there is no evidence that pigs are being hurt.

About 800 of Britain’s 2,500 commercial pig farmers could be affected, although the NPA is conducting a  survey to establish a more accurate figure. 

On average, if each farmer had to replace the flooring in a shed for 1,000 animals, it would cost £35,000, giving a total bill of £28 million.

Members of the Congress are much like rats hiding and operating in a dark basement away from public view.  Rats, in both politics and in your home, can do damage to your health, property and the economy . . . . plus rats (like politicians) have few redeeming features.  The rats in Congress almost always win re-election because they act mostly outside the white hot spotlight of public view.

Presidents are not so lucky.

From the beginning of the Republic, Presidents have been on the receiving end of all the hopes, dreams, fears and hates of the citizens.  As leader, Presidents get the credit or the blame for current events.  Their re-election is far from a foregone conclusion.

Weak Incumbent Presidents  -  Here is the poster boy for a weak incumbent President  -  James Madison.

On paper you had the "prefect" incumbent.  Founding Father of the nation, author of the Constitution, author of the Bill of Rights, former Secretary of State and hand picked successor of Thomas Jefferson.  Madison had the added bonus of an opposition Federalist Party that had been beaten into the ground by Jefferson.

But Madison was viewed as a weak President who had just dragged the nation into the Napoleonic Wars by declaring war on England in the War of 1812.

Along comes former U.S. Senator and current New York City Mayor DeWitt Clinton.  Suddenly the near one-party state created by Jefferson becomes an aggressive two party election.  Clinton joins forces with the Federalist Party making the election of 1812 one of the closest in history.

Clinton's campaign tailored their pamphlets and speeches by region. In the Northeast, Clinton was portrayed as the anti-war candidate. Meanwhile, in the South and West, where there were few people opposed to the war, Clinton ran on the basis of a more vigorous prosecution of the war.  The Federalists nearly doubled their strength in the House and Clinton came within 9,827 votes of winning the White House.

The power of Presidential incumbency is sometimes nothing more than an illusion created by the campaign.  Sometimes the illusion gets them another term by a good margin.  But in other cases people are so angry that incumbents face ultra-close elections such as 1812, 1892, 1916 and 2004.

But nearly half of incumbents are tossed out the White House door either by their party or the voters.

Rejected by their own Party  -  Many Presidents never had the chance to have a close re-election campaign as a "weak" incumbent. They were so hated by their own party that they failed to even get the nomination for another term or they choose to "retire" before getting a knife in the back from their friends and allies

The last century has seen the defeat of incumbents William Howard Taft, Herbert Hoover, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush.

Can Comrade Obama Win?  -  Our Presidents often think they are Gods, but the public knows better.

Republicans might hate Obama, but in looking at all the elections in our history an incumbent like Obama has the edge.

Twenty Presidents seeking another term who received the nomination of their party have won re-election.  Some have won re-election in landslides such as Andrew Jackson, Grant and Nixon.  Others have won in ultra-narrow contests such as Madison, Wilson and the younger Bush.  But win they did and to the victors belong the spoils.

Ten Presidents who had the backing of their party were defeated in November.

Numbers do not lie.  History shows the incumbent President with a huge advantage.

I fear for this country if Comrade Obama wins re-election.  This Marxist monster can do horrible damage to the nation through a combination of Socialist judicial appointments, un-elected boards and commissions, Presidential edicts and a spineless "opposition" in the Republican Party.  Mitt Romney has his work cut out for him if he is to buck the advantage history gives to Obama.

A Guide for Future American Elections.
The election of 1812 has served as a guide for so many election contests in our history.  A nearly dead opposition party is brought back to life courtesy of either an arrogant incumbent, a grab for power, economic depression and/or an unpopular war.

In 1812 Founding Father James Madison dragged America into the Napoleonic Wars by insisting that Congress declare war on England.  This action split the nation and breathed new life into the Federalist Party.

We talk about swing states electing our Presidents.  But in 1812 the entire election came down to the single state of Pennsylvania.  The Federalist Party nominated for Vice President the Founding Father Jared Ingersoll of Pennsylvania who attended the Constitutional Convention.

Pennsylvania was the key to the 1812 election.  A change of only 9,827 votes would have thrown the election to the Federalist Party and sent James Madison packing into retirement.

We have seen this pattern repeat itself again and again.  A handful of voters in a key state or a few key states select the President for the entire nation.  The most recent example was in 2000 when George Bush won Florida by less than 1,000 votes.

Summer is coming, marking the opening of the Superhero action films for 2012.

Real Americans love their action heroes, superheroes and fantasy heroes.  Early in the 20th Century came John Carter of Mars and Conan the Barbarian.  Then in the 1930s the dam burst with Batman, Superman, the Phantom and so many more.  To this day new superheroes just keep coming, and they are BIG box office.

I loved that the 1970s and 80s Superman films were even made.  But I hated that Superman was portrayed as Super-Touchy-Feely-Man in a comedy setting.  What a weak loser.

That changed with Batman in 1989.  For the first time the characters that we fans loved were presented as serious drama.  Watching Jack Nicholson on the big screen as the Joker was a stunning event.  Seeing the Joker evolve into Heath Ledger's insane character kept me glued to my seat as few films have done.

So here is to Hollywood.  For just a few dollars they take us away from the pain and suffering of everday living and transport us to different, if not always better worlds.

I have been waiting for this movie for 40 years, and it is about damn time it got here.

I love Christian Bale's take on Batman. . . . . BUT I have always hated Catwoman.  Why God must you give us Catwoman?  How have we offended you oh Lord?  At least there is no fucking Robin in the film. 

Sequel to Batman Begins (2005) and The Dark Knight (2008). The Dark Knight Rises is intended to be the conclusion of the series. It stars Christian Bale, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, and Morgan Freeman. The film will take place eight years after the events of The Dark Knight and will introduce the characters of Selina Kyle and Bane—portrayed by Anne Hathaway and Tom Hardy, respectively—two villains from the Batman mythology.

Thank God at last it is coming.  I have waited 40 years for this film.  Those who read the book in 1939 and fell in love with the characters did not make it to see it on the silver screen.

Directed by Sir Peter Jackson. It is a film adaptation of the 1937 novel of the same name by J. R. R. Tolkien and a prequel to The Lord of the Rings film trilogy. Jackson, director of The Lord of the Rings, returns as director of the film and also serves as producer and co-writer.

Several actors from The Lord of the Rings will reprise their roles, including Ian McKellen, Andy Serkis, Hugo Weaving, Cate Blanchett, Christopher Lee, Ian Holm, Elijah Wood and Orlando Bloom.

On the appointed day at noon, the Greek Orthodox patriarch, followed by the Armenian archbishop, march in grand and solemn procession with their own clergies, while singing hymns. They march three times round the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. Once the procession has ended, the Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem or another Orthodox Archbishop recites a specific prayer, removes his robes and enters alone into the sepulchre. Before entering the Tomb of Christ, the patriarch is examined by Jewish Israeli authorities to prove that he does not carry technical means to light the fire.

The Armenian archbishops remain in the antechamber, where the angel was sitting when he appeared to Mary Magdalene after the Resurrection of Jesus. The congregation subsequently chants Kyrie eleison ("Lord, have mercy" in Greek) until the Holy Fire spontaneously descends on 33 white candles tied together by the Patriarch while he is alone inside the tomb chamber of Jesus. The fire is considered by believers to be the flame of the Resurrection power, as well as the fire of the Burning Bush of Mount Sinai.

Pilgrims claim the Holy Fire does not burn their hair, faces, clothes or anything else during the first 33 minutes of its appearance. One web site offers videos claiming to show worshipers having prolonged contact with the flames without discomfort or damage to skin or hair.

At a certain point the light rises and forms a column in which the fire is of a different nature, so that I am able to light my candles from it. When I thus have received the flame on my candles, I go out and give the fire first to the Armenian Patriarch and then to the Coptic. Hereafter I give the flame to all people present in the Church..

1984  -  Political hacks from both parties are falling all over themselves to create a Big Brother Police State

• Police departments have gotten wireless carriers to track your cellphone signals for them.
• Bill of Rights violated, no search warrants are issued.
• Police departments have purchased their own tracking equipment to watch you.
• America is rapidly becoming an elective dictatorship.  Voters have the "right" to select which party they want to violate the Constitution.

Big Brother is watching you . . . and "they" say it is for your own protection.

Local law enforcement tracking of cellphones, once the province mainly of federal agents, has become a powerful and widely used surveillance tool for local police officials, with hundreds of departments, large and small, often using it aggressively with little or no court oversight.

The practice has become big business for cellphone companies, too, with a handful of carriers marketing a catalog of “surveillance fees” to police departments to determine a suspect’s location, trace phone calls and texts or provide other services. Some departments log dozens of traces a month for routine investigations reports the New York Times.

Civil liberties advocates say the wider use of cell tracking raises legal and constitutional questions, particularly when the police act without judicial orders. While many departments require warrants to use phone tracking in non-emergencies, others claim broad discretion to get the records on their own, according to 5,500 pages of internal records obtained by the American Civil Liberties Union from 205 police departments nationwide.

• In cities in Nevada, North Carolina and other states, police departments have gotten wireless carriers to track cellphone signals back to cell towers as part of non-emergency investigations to identify all the callers using a particular tower, records show.
• In California, state prosecutors advised local police departments on ways to get carriers to “clone” a phone and download text messages while it is turned off.
• In Ogden, Utah, when the Sheriff’s Department wants information on a cellphone, it leaves it up to the carrier to determine what the sheriff must provide. “Some companies ask that when we have time to do so, we obtain court approval for the tracking request,” the Sheriff’s Department said in a written response to the A.C.L.U.
• In Arizona, even small police departments found cell surveillance so valuable that they acquired their own tracking equipment to avoid the time and expense of having the phone companies carry out the operations for them. The police in the town of Gilbert, for one, spent $244,000 on such equipment.
