Utah Senator Mitt Romney argued that flavored e-cigarettes and vaping juices like “unicorn poop” should be banned because of their attractiveness to children.

President Donald Trump hosted a lively discussion at the White House about the benefits and dangers of vaping flavors. The president spent over an hour listening to supporters for banning vaping flavors as well as vape industry advocates who have sharply criticized the president’s proposed ban.

Senator Mitt Romney participated in the discussion in support of a ban on flavored vaping. He argued that most adults were not using vape flavors, earning a strong reaction from vape industry supporters who disagreed.

Romney noted that flavors like “unicorn poop” were branded that way to appeal to children.

(Infowars Europe)  -  Greece has announced plans to tighten its borders and build new detention centers in an effort to mitigate an overwhelming influx of migrants that shows no signs of slowing.

Some 37,000 migrants are estimated to be living in 'camps' on five Greek islands and hundreds more are arriving on a near-daily basis.

The notorious Moria camp on Lesbos, designed for up 3,000 people, is currently packed with over 15,000 migrants, according to reports, and other camps are similarly overflowing.

The camps will soon be closed and new asylum facilities, each capable of accommodating up to 7,000 people, will be built on Lesbos, Chios and Samos, while smaller, remodeled facilities will be installed on Kos and Leros, AFP reports.

"Instead of being allowed to move freely in and out of the camps, asylum-seekers will now be locked up until they are granted refugee status and relocated to the mainland, or they are rejected and sent back to Turkey," officials said.

Additionally, 1,200 new border guards will be hired and deployed to the islands and the land border with Turkey, with a mission to render "migrant entry points air-tight."

"Decongesting the islands is a priority at this stage," said Alkiviadis Stefanis, Greece's deputy defense minister and special coordinator for migration.

"These actions are designed to show our determination in dealing with the migrant-refugee crisis."

Stefanis says 20,000 migrants will be relocated to the mainland by early 2020, with 15,000 living in camps and 5,000 in hotels.

(Chicago Tribune)  -  Evangelical groups are turning to artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies to help their members fight addiction to online pornography in a budding industry that one scholar calls an emerging "purity-industrial complex."

As pornography has exploded beyond just websites to apps and social media platforms such as Instagram, Snapchat, Reddit, Tumblr and others, tech companies closely affiliated with church groups are capitalizing on the fears of devout Christians that "porn is the greatest threat to Christian purity and even the moral standard of the nation," said Samuel Perry, an assistant professor of sociology at the University of Oklahoma and author of "Addicted to Lust."

A recent report by the Washington-based National Center on Sexual Exploitation cited a study of university students that found that 93% of boys and 62% of girls were exposed to online pornography during their adolescence.

Another study showed that among college-going men, nearly half were exposed to pornography as early as 13 years of age. A majority, or about 61 percent, of those accessing salacious material did so using their smartphones, the center said.

"It used to be that if you wanted to access porn you had to go to a seedy movie theater or go in a trenchcoat and buy from a seedy store," Perry told CQ Roll Call. But the accessibility and anonymity of the internet has dramatically increased access to pornography and brought new fears to the devout, he said.

Covenant Eyes, based in Owosso, Mich., is one of the companies that creates and sells software filters designed to detect computer or device users accessing pornography. The company works with pastors and ministries to address pornography use among their members.

"You know that people in your ministry are watching porn, and you know that porn use hinders spiritual growth and healthy relationships," the Covenant Eyes website says, addressing itself to pastors. "But figuring out how to effectively help people overcome porn and find freedom can be overwhelming."

(Summit News)  -  The town of Durham, New Hampshire announced it was removing several Christmassy elements from its annual “holiday celebration” because two people complained about being offended.

Yes, really.

According to CBS Boston, the town’s Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony will undergo changes “in an effort to remove religious overtones.”

The event will be renamed ‘Frost Fest’ while the formal tree lighting ceremony itself will be abolished and Santa will not arrive in a town firetruck as he has in the past.

Christmas wreaths that were placed on lamp posts on Main Street will also be absent.

According to councilor Town Councilor Sally Tobias, the changes were made after one person “said that he had always had a problem with the Christmas tree.”

“There were a couple of people that did express some concerns about how they felt being included,” Tobias said.

So in other words, because two weak-minded idiots complained about being offended, the town voted to take Christmas out of its Christmas celebrations, undoubtedly angering the vast majority of residents.

“To stop cultures and faiths from practicing publicly would be very un-American. I think that’s the beauty of our country,” said Rabbi Berel Slavaticki, who was refused when he asked the town to display a Menorah during the eight days of Hanukkah last year.

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) – A giant brown inflatable poo emoji attracted dozens of people to Pioneer Square this weekend.

Folks were happy to take photos in front of it, while others braved to go inside.

“We brought the ‘Giant Poo’ for everyone to go through. It’s about a three-minute, 360-degree IMAX experience,” said a worker.

The company Poo-Pourri set it up downtown. It actually has an important purpose: it’s in support of World Toilet Day, which is meant to inspire action to tackle the global sanitation crisis.

And for everyone who visits, Poo-Pourri will donate $2 to the cause.

If you want to check it out, be prepared for long lines. The inflatable will be at Pioneer Square until Tuesday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m.

Here’s a shocker: Moviegoers don’t want to plunk down $15 to see yet another iteration of the really bad TV show from the 1970s, “Charlie’s Angels.”

“The action comedy majorly stalled in its global debut,” Variety reported. “The movie earned $19.3 million from 26 markets, along with $8.6 million at the domestic box office for a worldwide bounty of $26.1 million. The international box office will be key in recouping “Charlie’s Angels’” $48 million budget. So far, the film has seen the strongest showing in China with an uninspiring $7.7 million, along with Indonesia ($2.9 million), Australia ($1.3 million), Russia ($1 million) and the Philippines ($1 million).”

The movie was written and directed by actress Elizabeth Banks and stars hot Hollywood actress Kristen Stewart, along with Naomi Scott and Ella Balinska as the latest generation of Angels.

Even before the movie opened, Banks blamed men.

“Look, people have to buy tickets to this movie, too. This movie has to make money,” Banks told the Herald Sun. “If this movie doesn’t make money it reinforces a stereotype in Hollywood that men don’t go see women do action movies.”
