Communists Ban Crime and Disasters

(Radio Free Asia)  -  The ruling Chinese Communist Party has issued orders to local officials and law enforcement banning the occurrence of any major crimes, including acts of terrorism or extreme acts of personal violence, and any mass gathering of people, including petitioners heading to Beijing to complain about the government.
The move comes as President Xi Jinping seeks to silence dissent ahead of the 19th Party Congress, consolidating his power as a "core" leader of the party in the tradition of late supreme leaders Mao Zedong and Deng Xiaoping.
An unsigned directive sent to neighborhood committees around the country identifies the three biggest threats to a successful Party Congress as any mass gathering of people "having nationwide impact," a terror attack, and any incident involving public safety.
Activist Tan Aijun was blocked tying to enter Hong Kong and told he had
been slapped with a travel ban because he was a "threat to national security."

The notice calls on local officials and security teams to "take strict steps to prevent any major event having a major impact on political stability."
Such events might include "mass incidents involving petitioners coming to Beijing," the notice said, in a reference to potential protests like those organized in recent months by thousands veterans of the People's Liberation Army outside government buildings in the capital.
Fire disasters involving large loss of life and injury or major transportation accidents are also cited as potential threats to stability, the notice warned.
Authorities across China must also be on the lookout for potential acts of terrorism or "individual extreme violence," the notice said.
Beijing-based democracy activist Zha Jianguo said the clampdown means close surveillance by state security police for any critics of the regime ahead of the Party Congress, which is expected in October.
"The 19th Party Congress is the biggest political event in mainland China this year, and therefore the most sensitive time of all," Zha said.
He said the state security police recently intervened to prevent around 10 of his friends from gathering in a Beijing restaurant to mark his birthday.
"They were stopped from coming, and they took me away [out of town]," Zha said. "They wouldn't allow me to be in Beijing on that day."
"During our 'chats' on that day, they mentioned the 19th Party Congress in October," he said. "The police asked me where I wanted to go on vacation during the 19th Party Congress."

Steve Bannon Vows To ‘Light Up’ Mitch McConnell

Go Steve Go

(Telegraph)  -  Steve Bannon, the former White House chief strategist, has said he intends to "light up" Mitch McConnell, the Republican senate leader.

Mr Bannon also said he was relishing his return to the news website Breitbart because in the White House he had "influence," but at Breitbart he has "power".

In an interview with The Economist, Mr Bannon vowed to support President Donald Trump, but also to pursue his agenda of economic nationalism.

He told the magazine: "“We will never turn on him. But we are never going to let him take a decision that hurts him."

Mr Bannon added: "I am an ideologue, that’s why I am out. I can rally the base, have his back. The harder he pushes, the more we will be there for him."

He added: "Mitch McConnell, I'm going to light him up."

Mr Bannon also castigated "the elites in Silicon Valley and Wall Street" as a "bunch of globalists who have forgotten their fellow Americans".

He also vowed to "screw up One Belt One Road," referring to a Chinese plan to expand its global trade.

Mr Bannon said he had wanted to talk to The Economist because "You’re the enemy. You support a radical idea, free trade. I mean it, that’s a radical idea".

Danny Tarkanian takes lead in Nevada Senate poll

Sarah Palin endorsed Danny Tarkanian for the U.S. Senate in Nevada

Drain the Swamp

(PRA)  -  Pro-Donald J. Trump GOP U.S. Senate challenger Danny Tarkanian has blown past incumbent Sen. Dean Heller (R-NV), an opponent of the president and much of his agenda, per a new poll out of the state of Nevada obtained exclusively by Breitbart News ahead of its public release.
Tarkanian, per the new poll from JMC Analytics, is up at 39 percent in the new survey. His lead towers eight points over the incumbent Heller’s 31 percent, spelling certain trouble for Senate GOP establishment forces desperate to save Heller’s seat. A whopping 31 percent are undecided between Heller and Tarkanian. Even so, when given the choice of Heller versus not Tarkanian, a majority of Republicans in Nevada—51 percent—want someone other than Heller, 31 percent would renominate Heller, and 18 percent are undecided.
The survey of 700 likely GOP voters in Nevada was conducted from Aug. 24 to Aug. 25 and has a margin of error of 3.7 percent with a 95 percent confidence interval.
Heller’s approval rating is underwater, down to just 34 percent of Nevada Republicans approving of his job performance, while 48 percent disapprove. Sixteen percent have no opinion and two percent have not heard of Heller.
Tarkanian’s numbers are exactly the opposite, as he has high approval ratings among those who know him. A significant 42 percent approve of Tarkanian, while 23 percent disapprove, 30 percent have no opinion, and five percent have never heard of him.
President Donald Trump’s approval ratings are sky-high among Nevada Republicans, with 80 percent approving of the president’s job—and only 14 percent disapproving, while six percent have no opinion.

The Swamp Forces Out Sebastian Gorka

The Swam Creatures are Winning

  • My President has been wading through hip deep swamp shit. The GOP Congress has done everything in their power to implode the President's agenda.
  • The Trump Swamp Military-Industrial Complex appointees are more interested in pushing for war than supporting peace.

Sebastian Gorka is resigning his post as Deputy Assistant to President Trump, multiple sources familiar with the situation have told The Federalist.
In a blunt resignation letter, the national security and counterterrorism expert expressed dissatisfaction with the current state of the Trump administration. “[G]iven recent events, it is clear to me that forces that do not support the MAGA promise are – for now – ascendant within the White House,” Gorka wrote. “As a result, the best and most effective way I can support you, Mr. President, is from outside the People’s House.”
Gorka’s letter expressed unhappiness with the direction the Trump administration’s foreign policy has taken, as signaled by the president’s recent speech on Afghanistan:
“Regrettably, outside of yourself, the individuals who most embodied and represented the policies that will ‘Make America Great Again,’ have been internally countered, systematically removed, or undermined in recent months. This was made patently obvious as I read the text of your speech on Afghanistan this week…
“The fact that those who drafted and approved the speech removed any mention of Radical Islam or radical Islamic terrorism proves that a crucial element of your presidential campaign has been lost…
“Just as worrying, when discussing our future actions in the region, the speech listed operational objectives without ever defining the strategic victory conditions we are fighting for. This omission should seriously disturb any national security professional, and any American who is unsatisfied with the last 16 years of disastrous policy decisions which have led to thousands of Americans killed and trillions of taxpayer dollars spent in ways that have not brought security or victory.”
During his time in the Trump administration, Gorka focused on issues such as countering the Muslim Brotherhood, the crisis in Qatar, supporting efforts to draft a new long-term national security strategy, and combatting China’s economic warfare. Before coming to the White House, Gorka was the Major General Matthew C. Horner Chair at Marine Corps University and also contributed to Breitbart News.

'Dilbert' Cartoonist: 'A Third of the Country Doesn’t Even Recognize a Joke, Doesn't Know You're Kidding'

If they can't take a joke Fuck 'em

(CNS News)  -  One out of every three Americans can’t spot a joke – especially, when it comes from President Donald Trump or Fox News – “Dilbert” Cartoonist Scott Adams says.

In a commentary video on Periscope, Adams, creator of the “Dilbert” comic strip, says he honestly believes a third of Americans can’t identify a joke – without help from someone else:

“Alright, so, I’ve been saying this for a while that, as a professional humorist, I mean this completely serious - there’s no joke coming - that about a third of the country doesn’t even recognize a joke. Doesn’t know you’re kidding.
“And they can only tell you’re kidding if they see somebody else laughing, or you say, “Ha, Ha” or “JK” or something after the joke. They actually can’t tell.”
Adams says he first realized that a third of Americans are humor-deprived once he started taking comedy seriously:

“I never noticed until I became a professional humorist and told jokes in public and looked at the people in the audience and would see a third of them just sitting there looking around like they didn’t even know that they’re at a comedy situation.”
Earlier in the video, Adams argued that many Americans don’t realize that many of Trump’s more outrageous comments are meant to be entertainment and shouldn’t be taken literally.

Adams closes by citing liberal media’s overreaction to a satirical comment by Fox News’ Tucker Carlson as further proof a third of Americans can’t recognize a joke:

“So, when you see how many people didn’t understand - that Tucker Carlson claiming that the president could look at the sun without damage - didn’t know it was a joke. Didn’t know it was a joke.”

Mattis: US 'actively reviewing' sending weapons to Ukraine

War, War and More War

  • Call me a "Crazy Blogger", which I am, but the Military-Industrial Complex is a lot more interested in war with Russia and shipping arms to Islamists than in securing America's borders.

(The Hill)  -  Defense Secretary James Mattis said Thursday that the Trump administration is “actively reviewing” whether to provide weapons to Ukrainians who are fighting Russian-backed rebels.
“On the defensive lethal weapons, we are actively reviewing it,” Mattis said during a press conference alongside Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.
“I will go back, now, having seen the current situation, and be able to inform the secretary of State and the president in very specific terms what I recommend for the direction ahead.”
Mattis spoke during a visit to Kiev. He is the first Defense secretary to visit Ukraine since 2007 and his trip was timed to coincide with Ukrainian Independence Day, including participating in a ceremony to mark the occasion.
