Secret Courts and searches without a warrant by armed Federal Agents.  I am not living in the United States anymore.  Somehow I woke up in some Orwellian nightmare Big Brother State where the Founding Fathers never existed and the American Revolution never happened.

What is sick beyond words is this new Orwellian America is a bi-partisan creation of both Democrats and Republicans.  Both parties eagerly pass laws growing a Big Brother State in total violation of the Bill of Rights and the Constitution.

Secret Courts  -  The Justice Department made 1,745 requests to a secret court for authority to wiretap or search for evidence in terrorism and espionage investigations last year.  That's according to an April 30 letter from the department to the Senate that was first reported Thursday by the Federation of American Scientists.

The Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, which meets in secret to hear classified evidence from government attorneys, did not reject any of the requests, though judges did require modifications to 30 requests reports the Associated Press.

It was an increase over 2010, when the department made 1,579 requests.

National Security Letter (NSL)  -  The FBI also made 16,511 national security letter requests for information in 2011.

The letters allow officials to collect virtually unlimited kinds of sensitive, private information like financial and phone records all without a warrant..

The letter is a form of administrative subpoena used by the FBI and reportedly by other U.S. government agencies including the CIA and the Department of Defense. They require no probable cause or judicial oversight. An NSL is a demand letter issued to a particular entity or organization to turn over various record and data pertaining to individuals. NSLs can only request non-content information, such as transactional records, phone numbers dialed or email addresses mailed to and from. They also contain a gag order, preventing the recipient of the letter from disclosing that the letter was ever issued.

If you have a student loan then drop your pants, grab your ankles and spread your butt cheeks because Comrade Obama and his Marxist Democrats have a special and very deep present just for you.

Obama's Department of Education has told colleges around the country to deny official college class transcripts to ex-students who are behind in their student loan payments.  Schools are not required by law to withhold transcripts, but a spokeswoman at the Department of Education confirmed that the department "encourages" them to use the draconian tactic reports the Los Angeles Times.

Modern Slavery  -  The Democrat Party has effectively re-introduced slavery or Serfdom back into American society.  The Government will not allow you to go bankrupt on crushing student loan debt leaving you a near wage-slave for decades in service of government loans.

Now the Colleges' withholding of transcripts of graduates who've fallen behind on loan payments makes it even less likely that the student can get a job and resume loan payments.  And no job equals poverty.  A poverty which in turn makes you even more depended on the centralized Socialist Big Government State.

It turns out many colleges and universities refuse to issue these critical documents if students are in default on student loans, or in many cases, even if they just fall one or two months behind.  Colleges are not owed the money, but they are acting as agents for Obama.

The Federal Consumer Financial Protection Bureau estimates student loan debt has passed $1 trillion, an amount greater than all outstanding credit card debt. The Department of Education put the default rate at 8.8% of student borrowers as of September 2010.

In Southern California for example, USC's website makes it clear that unmet loan obligations can prevent students from getting transcripts. 

Andrew Ross, an NYU professor says of the no-transcript tactic:  "It's worse than indentured servitude. With indentured servitude, you had to pay in order to work, but then at least you got to work. When universities withhold these transcripts, students who have been indentured by loans are being denied even the ability to work or to finish their education so they can repay their indenture."

So the question of the day is why have we been in Afghanistan for the last 11 years?  And now Comrade Obama wants to keep us there another 10 years.  Why?  There is no answer, but our brave troops keep coming come horribly wounded and killed while the politicians claim victory.

Hours after Comrade Obama and Afghan President Hamid Karzai signed the strategic partnership agreement that will serve as the framework for future relations between their two nations, the Taliban issued its response reports USA TODAY.

Massachusetts Socialist Democrat Senate candidate Elizabeth Warren is a big fat liar.  And I hate liars more than just about anything.

Warren is the Democratic poster-girl for the Race Card.  This nut-case and very Anglo Leftist ran around for years claiming to be some oppressed "minority" based on maybe, and I do mean maybe, a 1/32nd amount of Indian heritage.

But while Warren grew up in Oklahoma, where many residents have members of their family tree who were Native Americans, she has been unable to independently substantiate her claim to the heritage.

Christopher Child, a prominent genealogist, did some digging into Warren’s ancestry and determined that her great-great-great-grandmother was listed as Cherokee on a marriage certificate in Oklahoma. Child told the Boston Herald that the relation made Warren one-thirty-second Native American.

Although Warren's campaign acknowledged that she listed her heritage in faculty directories more than 15 years ago, Warren said she couldn’t recall ever bringing it up when applying for a job.

Brown’s campaign manager, Jim Barnett, has called on Warren to apologize for what he called “Harvard’s diversity sham.”

"For years, Harvard has claimed special minority status for Professor Elizabeth Warren as a member of a Native American tribe and their first minority hire,” Barnett said in a statement, calling it “an insult to all Americans who have suffered real discrimination and mistreatment.”

Bolivian Comrade President Evo Morales has nationalized a Spanish-owned electric power company.

Comrade Morales ordered the military to take over the subsidiary of Spanish power company REE, which owns and runs around three-quarters of Bolivia's power grid reports the BBC.

Morales said he had ordered the take-over in honour of the Bolivian people fighting to regain control of their natural resources.

Last month Argentina took control of Spanish-owned oil company YPF.

Chechnya's government is openly approving of families that kill female relatives who violate their sense of honor, as this Russian republic embraces a fundamentalist interpretation of Islam after decades of religious suppression under Soviet rule.

In the past five years, the bodies of dozens of young Chechen women have been found dumped in woods, abandoned in alleys and left along roads in the capital, Grozny, and neighboring villages reports the Washington Times.

Chechen President Ramzan Kadyrov publicly announced that the dead women had “loose morals” and were rightfully shot by male relatives. He went on to describe women as the property of their husbands, and said their main role is to bear children.

“If a woman runs around and if a man runs around with her, both of them should be killed,” said Mr. Kadyrov, who often has stated his goal of making Chechnya “more Islamic than the Islamists.”    

In today’s Chechnya, alcohol is all but banned, Islamic dress codes are enforced and polygamous marriages are supported by the government.   

Some observers say Mr. Kadyrov’s attempt to impose Islamic law violates the Russian Constitution, which guarantees equal rights for women and a separation of church and state.

April was a great month

The Federalist  -  April was our best month ever.

• An all time record of 30,623 pageviews in April.

After a slower start at the beginning of April because of Easter vacations and travel, visits to The Federalist picked up big time.

We ended up the month with our best numbers ever.  30,623 pageviews for April.  On our best day we peaked at 1,456 views.  The last half of April saw us break the 1,000 plus per day point by a wide margin everyday.

The growth in readership has been a wonderful surprise.  In December 2011 we logged 13,863 views.  The readership has jumped 121% in only four months.

All of us on the net dream late at night of being Matt Drudge.  We know that is not going to happen.  But Bloggers are doing something right.  Governments all over the world are scared shitless that we even exist.  Scared to the point that Bloggers are arrested and their sites blocked.

That makes me feel good.  Fuck these bastards in government.

In my own way I try to cover stories often ignored by the Elite Media. Stories from a Constitutional Federalist point of view.  A point of view that has nearly vanished in a modern Socialistic Big Brother state.

The Pentagon is drugging front line soldiers

The Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Pentagon are now drugging over 110,000 active-duty Army troops to keep them dazed, confused and never questioning why they get to do 4, 5 or 6 deployments in war zones.

A Different "Drug War"  -  The Pentagon wants to keep the troops drugged up and happy out in the field.

• If the Pentagon drugs you in the Army it is legal.
• But if you want to buy pot then the government declares you a criminal.

After two long-running wars with escalating levels of combat stress, more than 110,000 active-duty Army troops last year were taking prescribed antidepressants, narcotics, sedatives, antipsychotics and anti-anxiety drugs, according to figures recently disclosed to The Los Angeles Times by the U.S. Army surgeon general.

Nearly 8% of the active-duty Army is now on sedatives and more than 6% is on antidepressants — an eightfold increase since 2005.

“We have never medicated our troops to the extent we are doing now…. And I don’t believe the current increase in suicides and homicides in the military is a coincidence,” said Bart Billings, a former military psychologist who hosts an annual conference on combat stress.

The pharmacy consultant for the Army surgeon general says the military’s use of the drugs is comparable to that in the civilian world.

“It’s not that we’re using them more frequently or any differently,” said Col. Carol Labadie. “As with any medication, you have to look at weighing the risk versus the benefits of somebody going on a medication.”

For the Army and the Marines, using the drugs has become a wager that whatever problems occur will be isolated and containable, said James Culp, a former Army paratrooper and now a high-profile military defense lawyer. He recently defended an Army private accused of murder, arguing that his mental illness was exacerbated by the antidepressant Zoloft.

"What do you do when 30-80% of the people that you have in the military have gone on three or more deployments, and they are mentally worn out? What do you do when they can't sleep? You make a calculated risk in prescribing these medications," Culp said.

Some troops in Afghanistan are prescribed mefloquine, an antimalarial drug that has been increasingly associated with paranoia, thoughts of suicide and violent anger spells that soldiers describe as "mefloquine rage."

"Prior to the Iraq war, soldiers could not go into combat on psychiatric drugs, period. Not very long ago, going back maybe 10 or 12 years, you couldn't even go into the armed services if you used any of these drugs, in particular stimulants," said Peter Breggin, a New York psychiatrist who has written widely about psychiatric drugs and violence.

"But they've changed that.... I'm getting a new kind of call right now, and that's people saying the psychiatrist won't approve their deployment unless they take psychiatric drugs."

Military doctors say most drugs' safety and efficacy is so well-established that it would be a mistake to send battalions into combat without the help of medications that can prevent suicides, help soldiers rest and calm shattered nerves.

Conservatives say no to Sarkozy

There is a huge split in among Conservatives in both France and the U.S.  Those voters who actually believe in something are angry at the "fake" do nothing Conservatives.

Conservative leader Marine Le Pen won 18% of the vote in the first round of the French presidential election.  This solid vote for the conservative National Front sent shockwaves across France.  It was a record-breaking score for the conservative party, beating the 16% that Le Pen’s father, Jean-Marie Le Pen, won to get through to the second round of the 2002 presidential election.

But in the town of Besseges, most conservative activists and ordinary voters expressed disappointment with Sarkozy’s track record and maintained that the French president had failed them and the country. Speaking to FRANCE 24, an overwhelming majority of Besseges residents said they would not support a president “who had broken all his promises”.

Many Conservative Le Pen voters are angry at the pretend conservative Sarkozy.

He told FRANCE 24 that he believed the work ethic in France had been undermined by a social benefits culture that allowed people to earn without working while penalizing those “that get out of bed every morning and go to work”.

“I’ve voted Socialist in every single election until now,” he said. “I still believe in the social model; that there should be a safety net for people who lose their jobs. But it should only be for people who deserve it. “Marine Le Pen has promised to put a stop to this and that’s why I am voting for her. Francois Hollande has not addressed this issue. In fact he has avoided it and even said that benefits should be extended. It breaks my heart.”

Sarkozy will 'not get my vote'  -  Benjamin Tallon is a young National Front activist and a member of the Besseges town council.

The 26-year-old engineer accused Sarkozy of being a hypocrite by taking up National Front issues in his “desperate bid” to secure the conservative vote.

“Sarkozy has always been after our voters,” he stated. “He promises to reduce immigration in 2007 and he’s doing it all over again. Locally, when there are election battles between the National Front and the Socialists, the UMP always tells people to vote Socialist.

“I am a natural conservative, and I would normally support the conservative candidate in the second round.  But Sarkozy has shown the country that he is a hypocrite. He will not get my vote.”

The Doctor  -  Jean-Francois Grillo, 61, is a radiologist who has supported the National Front all his adult life.

Like many other conservative party supporters, he sees Sarkozy’s UMP and Hollande’s Socialist Party (PS) as two sides of the same coin, and refers to both parties as the “UMPS”.

“Sarkozy’s attempts to get the National Front vote are so obvious and so shallow they are pitiful,” he declared. “I will cast a blank ballot in the second round of the election because both the Socialists and France’s mainstream conservatives have progressively destroyed this country over the last 30 years.

“But I predict a victory for Francois Hollande. What this means is that France will edge closer to the economic situation we see in Greece and in Spain.  This will be devastating for our country, but it will mean that the National Front will become the only sensible voice of conservative opposition in France.”
