Republican ahead 50 - 44 in NY-9

New York Republican Bob Turner is ahead in special election.

Socialist Democrats pump $1.1 million in last minute cash in bid to hold on to seat

In New York's historically Democratic 9th Congressional District Republican candidate Bob Turner holds a six-point lead over Democrat David Weprin, according to a new Siena Research Institute survey released Friday.

Among likely voters in the district, which comprises parts of Queens and Brooklyn, Turner attracts 50 percent of the support while Weprin garners 44 percent. Six percent say they are undecided. The same poll taken a month ago showed Weprin with a six-point lead, indicating the race would be surprisingly close.

Turner, who has received endorsements from a couple of prominent Democrats, manages to attract support from 32 percent of Democrats. Comparatively, Weprin receives support from just 6 percent of Republicans. Turner holds a significant lead over Weprin among independents, 65 percent to 27 percent. Voters have a favorable view of Turner, 48 percent to 34 percent. They are evenly split on Weprin, 41 percent to 41 percent.

9th Congressional District of New York.

Voters in this district have soured on President Obama, and the state of the economy and unemployment weigh heavily on their minds. Obama won this district by 10 points in 2008, but his margin of victory there was much lower than in surrounding New York districts. Now, his favorability ratings are underwater, with 43 percent having a positive view of the president and 54 percent holding a negative one. By a five-point margin, voters see the state of New York on the right track. But notably, 74 percent of voters feel the nation is headed in the wrong direction, while 19 percent are more optimistic.

“The voters of Brooklyn and Queens are speaking to Mr. Obama through this contest, and they will not be silenced,” said Turner campaign spokesman Bill O’Reilly in a statement released in response to the new poll.

The Democratic-affiliated House Majority Political Action Committee took to the airwaves with a six-figure ad purchase that pins Turner to the Tea Party and touts the New York Times' endorsement of Weprin, according to Politico. On Thursday, the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee made a half-million-dollar ad buy on behalf of Weprin.

Demos in a fight to keep Weiner's seat

Republican Bob Turner takes on the New York Liberal Establishment.

GOP's Bob Turner rips into Demos on Ground Zero Mosque

Republican Bob Turner, who's hoping to replace Rep. Anthony Weiner in New York-9 after a Sept. 13 special election face-off with Democratic state Assemblyman David Weprin, is out with his first TV ad. Topic: The proposed "Ground Zero" mosque.

A new poll showing Republican Bob Turner within striking distance of Democrat David Weprin in the race to fill Anthony Weiner's congressional post came as a shock to Democratic leaders, who vowed yesterday to mobilize their forces to hold on to the seat.

The Sienna College poll survey had Weprin leading Turner by just six points -- 48 percent to 42 percent -- for the Sept. 13 special election in a Queens-Brooklyn district where Democrats outnumber Republicans 3-to-1 reports the New York Daily News.

Meanwhile President Obama's popularity is under water in the heavily Democratic district. Fifty-two percent of voters disapprove of the Democratic president's performance; only 45 percent gave the chief executive a thumbs-up.

"It's a little too close for comfort," one top-ranking Democratic official said of Weprin's slight lead. "This is a wake-up call."

The source, who requested anonymity, said the party will be reaching out to labor leaders and Democrats across New York for campaign dough and foot soldiers.

Turner -- a retired media executive who garnered 40 percent against Weiner last year -- applauded the findings.

"We can win this thing. Voters of all parties are tired of career politicians who got our country into this economic mess," said Turner campaign spokesman William O'Reilly.

Former Mayor Ed Koch, Turner's most prominent Democratic supporter, said, "I'm elated. Turner is going to win because he's on the right side of the issues and he has me on his side."

While other Democrats were worried about the race, the Weprin campaign stressed its candidate was ahead.

"The Democrats still have a 130,000 advantage in voter enrollment. And if labor groups get involved, the race becomes much more difficult," said a DC-based GOP insider tracking the race.

26 candidates are thrown off the ballot for Congress

IT IS CONFIRMED!
Seismologists have confirmed that James Madison has indeed turned over in
his grave when the Moron Ruling Elite of Nevada threw 26 candidates for Congress
off the ballot.

"The oppressed are allowed once every few years to decide which particular representatives of the oppressing class are to represent and repress them."
~Karl Marx

"In order to become the master, the politician poses as the servant."
~Charles de Gaulle

In true Banana Republic style, the Ruling Elites of Nevada throw over two dozen candidates off the ballot.

I never thought I would agree with Karl Marx, but he called it correctly in Nevada.

Our Federalist Founding Fathers are turing over in their graves.  They pledged their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor in a fight to give us our freedoms.  They were giants in the history of mankind.

Our current crop of political Ruling Class hacks wearing judge's robes or running the government are illiterate slime with no knowledge of the Constitution, the American Revolution, the Federalist Papers or freedom.  They are bent on protecting the Elite, feathering their own nests, looting the Treasury and fixing elections.

I guessed I missed the part in the United States Constitution that says political parties can BAN CANDIDATES they don't like from the ballot.  That means our elections are not much better than the phony pretend elections that were held in the Soviet Union, in Fascist Italy or currently in China.

The field of candidates for Nevada's special election shriveled to four Wednesday after a Supreme Court ruling removed 22 candidates from the ballot and the state's top election official disqualified four others reports the Associated Press.

The Ruling Elite in Nevada have taken
lessons on "voting" from Stalin.  Too
many choices just confuses voters.

Candidates who will appear on the Sept. 13 ballot for Nevada's vacant U.S. House seat include Republican Mark Amodei, a former state senator; Democrat Kate Marshall, currently state treasurer; Independent American Party candidate Tim Fasano of Fernley; and independent candidate Helmuth Lehmann of Reno.

The Nevada Supreme Court on Tuesday said major political parties can pick their candidate. Justices, in a 6-1 opinion, upheld a lower court ruling that rejected Secretary of State Ross Miller's original call for an open contest that would have permitted a slew of candidates.

Thirty contenders had filed for the post ahead of a June 30 deadline. The court ruling took 14 Republicans and eight Democrats off the ballot.

Miller's office said Wednesday that local election officials were unable to validate the required number of signatures needed for three nonpartisan candidates — Earl Ammerman IV and Christopher Simon of Washoe County, and Roland Lee of Lyon County — to get on the ballot. To qualify, independent candidates needed to gather 100 petition signatures by a May 18 deadline.

Dale Gremban, a Libertarian candidate, did not have the required candidate designation from his party and also was disqualified, Miller's office said.

The special election will fill the House seat vacated when Gov. Brian Sandoval appointed Republican Rep. Dean Heller to replace John Ensign in the U.S. Senate. Ensign resigned in May following acknowledgement of an extramarital affair with a staffer's wife and amid an investigation by the Senate Ethics Committee.

California Special Election Results

Gerrymandered 36th Congressional District
A special election was held yesterday in the Los Angeles area for a vacant Congressional seat.  Like most Congressional seats in this nation the "election" was little better than the old Soviet elections.  The bi-partisan Elite Power Brokers from coast to coast gerrymander when possible to make sure that the vote of the people has no meaning.  Which party wins is often decided before the first vote is cast.

A run-off will be held between the top two.  The top vote getters in a field of 15 are:

24.6%  -  City Councilwoman Janice Hahn (D)
21.8%  -  Craig Huey (R)
21.4%  -  Secretary of State Debra Bowen (D)

These monster super-sized districts now run nearly 700,000 people.  Only millionaires or those bought and paid for by corrupt special interest money can afford to run.  Where contested elections take place at all it becomes a contest between billionaire cartels each looking to purchase the next representative.

Article one; Section two of the Constitution clearly states:  "The Number of Representatives shall not exceed one for every thirty Thousand, but each State shall have at Least one Representative."  Our Federalist Founders insisted that the People's House actually represent the people and not the special interests.  All it takes is a majority vote of the House to expand that chamber, dramatically shrink district size and restore free elections.
