A Little Monday Music - Putting on the Ritz - Original 1930 Movie

Starting The Week off on a High Note

  • I have decided to try and start each new week off on a positive high note. But being a glass half empty kind of guy I suspect things will turn into crap soon enough.

Puttin' On the Ritz is a 1930 American pre-Code musical film directed by Edward Sloman and starring Harry RichmanJoan Bennett, and James Gleason

It was the first of many films to feature the popular song "Puttin' On the Ritz", which was written and published by Irving Berlin in 1929.

All current prints derive from a 1940s re-release print that was censored for pre-Code content and cut down by about twenty minutes.
