Oddball is Gone
Donald Southerland is gone. He was always there then today he wasn't.
I grew up with him. He made me laugh and made me cry. An extraordinary actor.
He range of films was staggering: The Dirty Dozen (1967), Kelly's Heroes (1970), Animal House (1978) then fast forward to Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1992), Pride & Prejudice (2005), and The Hunger Games franchise (2012–2015).
Almost 68 years in movies.
Documents declassified in 2017 show that Sutherland was on the National Security Agency watchlist between 1971 and 1973 at the request of the CIA because of his anti-war activities.
Spied on for daring to exercise his Constitutional freedoms.
Thanks for the memories Donald.
