(Summit News)  Openly gay priest and long-time LGBT activist Lars Gårdfeldt has vowed to stop performing marriage ceremonies for heterosexual couples in Sweden.

Yes, really.

Gårdfeldt announced that he would refuse to marry straight couples in protest against a rule within the Church of Sweden that allows newly ordained priests to refuse to marry same-sex couples.

“Then the same thing must apply to me as a homosexual, then I can say no to heterosexual couples,” Gårdfeldt told the Göteborgs-Posten.

“I want to show the absurdity, theologically and ethically reprehensible, of denying marriage to consenting adults. I want to turn the debate right. We should not recruit new anti-gay priests. We should not ordain new priests who pass on the idea that homosexuals are inferior people,” he added.

Torgny Lindén, the Press Secretary of the Diocese of Gothenburg, offered little pushback to Gårdfeldt promise, merely pointing out that it was his right to have free expression, adding, “We have no opinion on this.”

Gårdfeldt married his now transgender partner in Canada in 2006, before gay marriage was allowed in Swedish churches. He said he also performed gay marriage ceremonies for years before it was permitted by the Church.

As we previously highlighted, the Church of Sweden published an open letter back in May that was signed by a long list of priests, deacons, and other church staff, proudly announcing that it is “trans” – whatever that means.

(Guardiab) -  The university town of Lund in Sweden is to dump a tonne of chicken manure in its central park in a bid to deter up to 30,000 residents from gathering there for traditional celebrations to mark Walpurgis Night on Thursday.

“Lund could very well become an epicentre for the spread of the coronavirus on the last night in April, [so] I think it was a good initiative,” the chairman of the local council’s environment committee, Gustav Lundblad, told the Sydsvenskan newspaper.

“We get the opportunity to fertilise the lawns, and at the same time it will stink and so it may not be so nice to sit and drink beer in the park,” Lundblad said, adding that the only potential drawback was that the smell may not be confined to the park.

“I am not a fertiliser expert, but as I understand it, it is clear that it might smell a bit outside the park as well,” Lundblad admitted. “These are chicken droppings, after all. I cannot guarantee that the rest of the city will be odourless. But the point is to keep people out of the city park.”

Walpurgis Night, celebrated on 30 April, is widely marked across central and northern Europe with parties and bonfires. The festivities are classed as “spontaneous” so cannot be banned by authorities, but to avoid the risk of spreading the coronavirus many towns and cities in Sweden have asked citizens to give the tradition a miss this year.

Philip Sandberg, the leader of council, told the paper it would “not be a pleasant experience … to sit in a park that stinks of chicken manure. But it will be good for the lawns, as chicken manure contains a lot of phosphorus and nitrogen, so we’ll get a really nice park for the summer.”

Lund is home to one of Sweden’s biggest universities and many of the municipality’s 125,000-odd inhabitants are students who habitually gather in the park in the afternoon and evening for picnics before the Walpurgis party proper gets underway.

Sweden has banned gatherings of more than 50.

Former members of the Swedish Communist Party have accused the new left of abandoning working class people in favor of becoming obsessed with mass migration, Greta Thunberg and LGBT issues.

“Nils Littorin, an ex-member of the Malmö branch of the Communist Party, told Lokatidningen that the Left of today has become part of the elite who has lost contact with the working class it was supposed to represent,” reports Voice of Europe.

Littorin is planning to help launch a new socialist party that will eschew the fixation with climate change alarmism and identity politics that has come to define leftist political movements.

“The Left doesn’t understand why so many workers don’t think that multiculturalism, the LGBT movement, and Greta Thunberg are something fantastic, but instead believe we are in the 1930’s Germany and that workers who vote for the Sweden Democrats have been infected by some Nazi sickness,” he explained.

According to Littorin, real issues such as income inequality and the cost of living are being dominated by fringe middle class concerns that do not resonate with working class people.

“Pride, for instance, has been reduced to dealing with sexual orientation,” he said. “We believe that human dignity is primarily about having a job and having pension insurance that means that you are not forced to live on crumbs when you are old.”

Littorin says the new party will drop the name ‘Communist’. Its aim is to secure representation in Malmö City Council by 2022.

Church to Replace LGBT Eden Painting with Jesus in High Heels

The St. Pauli church in the Swedish multicultural city of Malmo will replace a controversial pro-LGBT altarpiece with another work depicting Jesus Christ in high heels.

Swedish priest Helena Myrstener told media that the original painting, which was taken down because some claimed it depicted transgender individuals in a negative light, will be replaced by a print of another work by the same artist which depicts a transgender Jesus at the last supper, broadcaster SVT reports.

The painting, entitled Paradise, is the creation of Swedish artist Elisabeth Ohlson Wallin and depicted a scene from the Garden of Eden with same-sex couples and transgender figures.

The painting stirred controversy as it was hung at the altar of the church. But it was the depiction of a transgender figure with the serpent — and therefore the association with evil and temptation — which outraged activists and led to the painting being removed.

The artist behind the piece reacted negatively to the move, saying: “The Church of Sweden has until today had problems with transgender people, so to give the appearance that they now care about transgender people is a step, but it was devious to remove the painting. They will be ashamed of this history.”

Greta Thunberg: 'put world leaders against the wall'

(Daily Mail)  -  Greta Thunberg told cheering protesters today 'we will make sure we put world leaders against the wall' if they fail to take urgent action on climate change.

The Swedish teen activist was addressing the crowd at a Fridays for Future protest in Turin, Italy.

She arrived there from Madrid where she had been attending the UN climate summit but said she feared the event would not lead to change.

She said: 'Unfortunately, we probably already know the outcome. World leaders are still trying to run away from their responsibilities but we have to make sure they cannot do that.

'We will make sure that we put them against the wall and they will have to do their job to protect our futures.' 

Swedish Greta was cheered by the crowd who chanted her name as she arrived wearing her favourite yellow raincoat and a woolly hat.

She said: 'It is not fair that the older generation are handing over the responsibility to solve this crisis to us young people who have not started this crisis. It's not fair that we have to do all this.

'The adults are behaving as if there is no tomorrow but there is a tomorrow, it is the tomorrow where our young people will live and we have to fight for that tomorrow. 'We can no longer take that tomorrow for granted.'

Greta added that the next decade 'will define our future.'

His community herds about 8,000 reindeer year-round, moving them between traditional grazing grounds in the high mountains bordering Norway in the summer and the forests farther east in the winter, just as his forebears in the Sami indigenous community have for generations.

Inga is troubled: His reindeer are hungry, and he can do little about it. Climate change is altering weather patterns and affecting the herd’s food supply.

Slipping his hand from a massive reindeer skin mitten, Inga illustrates the problem, plunging his hand into the crusted snow and pulling out a hard piece of ice close to the soil.

Unusually early snowfall in autumn was followed by rain that froze, trapping food under a thick layer of ice. Unable to eat, the hungry animals scattered from their traditional migration routes in search of new grazing grounds.

Half the herd carried on east as planned, while the rest retreated to the mountains where predators abound, and the risk of avalanches is great.

The arctic is warming twice as fast as the rest of the globe. Measurements by the Swedish Meteorological and Hydrological Institute show the country has warmed 2.95 degrees Fahrenheit compared with preindustrial times.

(Infowars)  -  Russian President Putin criticized climate alarmist Greta Thunberg by stating that people in Africa “want to live at the same wealth level as in Sweden.”

“I may disappoint you but I don’t share the common excitement about the speech by Greta Thunberg,” he told an energy forum in Moscow on Wednesday. “No one has explained to Greta that the modern world is complex and different and … people in Africa or in many Asian countries want to live at the same wealth level as in Sweden.”

“…Go and explain to developing countries why they should continue living in poverty and not be like Sweden,” he added.

Putin also suggested Thunberg was being exploited by activist groups to push a narrative, stating that while young people who pay attention to environmental issues should be supported, “when someone is using children and teenagers in personal interests, it only deserves to be condemned.”

As we mentioned last week, Thunberg has been largely lecturing Western countries on cutting their carbon emissions while practically ignoring China, which is not only one of the world’s largest polluters in a variety of metrics but is also an economic rival to the West.

In the past, China and India were both given special exemptions in “climate change” treaties which gave them unique economic advantages over the US while doing practically little to combat “global warming.”

Furthermore, Thunberg seemed to run short on words after exhausting talking points during a recent press conference.

“The point now is political power,” said TV host Tucker Carlson. “You gin up a crisis and you demand the population submits to your will, or else.”

“If you do that, you don’t need to fight fair or acknowledge democracy or even make a rational case for your position. You do whatever it takes. You’ll even use children if it helps.”

(Infowars Europe)  -  The practice of earmarking Saturdays and Sundays as days of rest is a religiously-conditioned anachronism that today is “untimely” and “uneconomical,” Nils-Erik Mellström of the Centre Party argued.

Since today's Sweden is in many ways a multicultural and secular country, it is time to review and modernise the work week to suit everyone, regardless of their religion or cultural heritage, Nils-Erik Mellström, a district chairman of the Centre Party in Filipstad, has suggested in an opinion piece in Dagens Nyheter, one of nation's leading dailies. 

This would include removing Christian holidays.

We are living in a time when accessibility is expected every day of the week, Mellström contended, and our way of living is out of step with the current work week.

The fact that most people's rest days fall on Saturdays and Sundays is “untimely” and “uneconomical,” he argued. The Christian cultural heritage, from where this tradition stems, “is almost completely played out,” Mellström argued.

Instead, he proposed to let everyone choose their rest days themselves. This, Mellström argued, would bring several benefits, including greater availability and better service. Removing extra costs for weekend work would imply “savings opportunities” for employers.

“As a municipal politician in Filipstad, I am convinced that a modernisation of the work week would have many positive effects for our municipal workers as well as for our taxpayers,” Mellström argued.

Environmentalism Gone Mad

(Summit News)  -  A Swedish behavioral scientist has suggested that it may be necessary to turn to cannibalism and start eating humans in order to save the planet.

Appearing on Swedish television to talk about an event based around the “food of the future,” Magnus Söderlund said he would be holding seminars on the necessity of consuming human flesh in order to stop climate change.

Environmentalists blame the meat and farming industry for a large part of what they claim is the warming of the earth.

According to Söderlund, a potential fix would be the Soylent Green-solution of eating dead bodies instead.

He told the host of the show that one of the biggest obstacles to the proposal would be the taboo nature of corpses and the fact that many would see it as defiling the deceased.

Söderlund also acknowledged that people are “slightly conservative” when it comes to eating things they are not accustomed to, such as cadavers.

The discussion took place accompanied by a graphic of human hands on the end of forks. Lovely.

Another proposal to save the earth which has been promoted by numerous mass media outlets and environmentalists is only somewhat less disgusting – eating bugs.

No doubt Greta Thunberg and Prince Harry will be first in line for when cockroaches and human flesh is being dished out at the next international climate summit.
