Pat Sajak: ‘I Hope You Understand How Difficult This Situation Is for Celebrities’ #AdoptACelebrity

(CNS News)  -  "Please don't forget about us," Wheel of Fortune game show Host Pat Sajak pleaded Monday as the coronavirus shutdown of the U.S. continues to force entertainment personalities to experience what it’s like to have to live “like regular people.”

In a post poking fun at inflated celebrity egos and entertainers dealing with the shutdown, Sajak tweeted “#AdoptACelebrity” and urged, “Please don’t forget about us”:

“I hope you understand how difficult this situation is for celebrities. Instead of being pampered and flattered by everyone, we are forced to sit in our homes just like regular people. Please don’t forget about us. Any kind words of support would be appreciated. #AdoptACelebrity”
On Friday, Sajak mused about how having to wear a face mask in public was preventing fans from recognizing him:

“No one was recognizing me when I went out wearing a face mask. Had to resort to carrying an 8x10 glossy of myself. Celebrityhood can be challenging.”

And, on Thursday, he feigned surprise that his job as a television game show host isn’t considered an “essential” service exempting it from coronavirus shutdown mandates:

“Surprised to learn that selling vowels is not an essential job.”
