A Little Monday Music - Calamity Jane, Doris Day

Starting The Week off on a High Note
  • I have decided to try and start each new week off on a positive high note. But being a glass half empty kind of guy I suspect things will turn into crap soon enough.

Growing up this was one of my favorite movies.  Calamity Jane is a 1953 American Technicolor western musical film loosely based on the life of Wild West heroine Calamity Jane, and explores an alleged romance between Calamity Jane and Wild Bill Hickok in the American Old West

The film starred the late Doris Day as the title character and Howard Keel as Hickok.

This is our first introduction to the boisterous Calamity Jane (Doris Day) as she arrives in Deadwood City with a wagon full of goods. The sequence extends to include her entry into the Golden Garter, where we encounter Wild Bill Hickok (Howard Keel).
