Imperial French Cavalry at the American border 1865. Movie Major Dundee.
There is so much BS coming out of Washington and the CIA about Russia and the Ukraine.
Simply, how would we like it if there were 73,000 Chinese troops in Mexico?
We acted "shocked" when Russia reacts to having CIA outposts and mountains weapons right on Russia's border.
Regarding 73,000 troops in Mexico. That did happen. In 1865 some 73,000 Imperial French troops, Spanish troops, Austrian troops and contingents from Belgium and the Ottoman Empire controlled Mexico.
The American government went ape shit.
Now we pretend that Russia is the aggressor while NATO has moved from Central Europe all the way to the Russian border.

Major Dundee 1965 - Battle with the French
General Philip Sheridan
General U.S. Grant was also concerned about the situation in neighboring Mexico, where 40,000 French soldiers propped up the puppet regime of Austrian Archduke Maximilian. He gave Sheridan permission to gather a large Texas occupation force.
Sheridan assembled 50,000 men in three corps, quickly occupied Texas coastal cities, spread inland, and began to patrol the Mexico–United States border. The Army's presence, U.S. political pressure, and the growing resistance of Benito Juárez induced the French to abandon their claims against Mexico. Napoleon III announced a staged withdrawal of French troops to be completed in November 1867.
