By Gary;
There is not a lot I can add to what everyone else has already said. Maybe a few personal observations.
I was there day one, 9am in the 1980s when Rush first appeared on KFI-AM radio in Los Angeles.
What the fuck!!!! was my first reaction.
At last someone was saying what I had been thinking for years. So my decades long political love affair with Rush began.
While Republicans hid under their desks in fear I strongly remember Rush's powerful 2009 speech wishing that Obama's socialist policies fail. He ignited a total shit storm of hate with a fair amount coming from so-called "Conservatives". But that was Rush.
In the last five years my views began to change and listening to Rush became increasingly less important to me.
Rush specialized in the R vs D cheerleading. Those were no longer my views. My drift away from Rush was partly due to the rise of independent internet talk hosts. Like me many of these internet hosts viewed the elected Republicans (not the voters) as almost as big an enemy of the people as the Democrats.
I never totally stopped listening to Rush. This last year was hard on all of his fans. I am happy he chose to spend that time with us - - - his extended family.
Thanks Rush for fighting the good fight.
